AN: Hello everybody, did ya miss me? I know I've been gone far too long, but my other Persona 5 story has gotten too big and difficult to write, thanks to what's going to happen next chapter, but we aren't on that story; we're here for a more original what-if that I also want to take a crack at.

So without further ado, I present…

Chapter 1: A twin of faith

March 20XX

It was a rainy day in the streets of Tokyo. Many people walked with an umbrella in hand, but none were more interesting than two girls, who came from practice. These were Kasumi and Sumire Yoshizawa, a pair of talented gymnasts. Sumire had beautiful long red hair and red eyes hidden behind a pair of black glasses; meanwhile, Kasumi was nearly identical to her younger sister except with auburn hair tied up by a red ribbon in a ponytail and brown eyes with contacts instead and a beauty mark near the left eye.

"Today was brutal, huh?" Kasumi asked before noticing her sister's distress.

Concerned for the wellbeing of her sister, she asked, "Feeling okay?"

"It's not that…" says Sumire as she shook her head, contemplating the recent training they did, "Why am I doing so bad? I keep messing up my routine…"

"Your growth spurt's just changed your eye level. You'll get used to it," The older sister said before putting her hand on her sister.

"Look!" She said, jesting to their height, "You're as tall as I am now."

"We practice the same amount…" the redhead said out loud, ignoring what her sister said, "but you are the one who always gets first place. I can't catch up to you, Kasumi…"

"You know why?" Kasumi said in a playful yet arrogant tone, "Because it's my right as the elder sister."

"We're in the same grade, though," Sumire quietly whispered.

"Aw, don't be so down," Kasumi said to Sumire before turning around and looking forward.

"We'll reach the top of the world together…" she said confidently, looking skyward, "That's our dream, right?"

"You don't get it…" Sumire said as Kasumi looked back.

"You'll never understand how I feel," Sumire said as she prepared for a sprint.

"What?" Kasumi asked as Sumire ran past her.

Sumire ran as fast as she could, only thinking about how she believed that people would acknowledge her accomplishment if she were more like her sister.

"Hey, wait up…" Kasumi yelled out.

Sumire kept on running, ignoring the world around her, not noticing what laid ahead.

"Look where you're going!" Kasumi yelled out, "The light's red!"

Sumire kept on running, not noticing the approaching vehicle.

"Sumire, stop! Listen to me!" Kasumi cried out.

Kasumi jumped to save her sister's life as she cried out, "SUMIRE!"

Time seemed to slow down as a figure in red ran while lightning trailed off from him.

He stared at the scene in front of him and said, "You may not see me, and yet none of you know who I am. I am known as the benefactor, the one who made a deal with a foolish boy who lost a game he should've won."

The figure faces us as if he could see us, "Now know you're wondering why am I here, why aren't I keeping an eye out for Akira, making sure he's strengthening his bonds and cultivating his power to free the world from Yaldabaoth?"

Most agreed, while others are a bit confused as they haven't read my other story originally titled Persona 5 Royal Homecoming that I'm going to change the name to something more original. Anyway, for those who haven't read it, in the story, Akira came from the original Persona 5 game and traveled back in time to the Royal version after making a deal with this mysterious benefactor after losing everything to Yaldabaoth. Now other stories may be better than mine when it comes to doing this, but please give it a read, and when it's finished, you'll appreciate these stories.

"Thank you, Fireystoryteller, for that introduction but leave the rest to me," he said as I thanked him from this side of the screen.

"As he said, I made a deal with Joker after Yaldabaoth killed everyone except for our dear trickster. So I made him a deal to go back to before the beginning of the unfair game and to prove to me that humanity is worth saving," he explained as best he could the role he played in my other story.

"In case you're curious about what I mean by 'prove humanity is worth saving?' I sealed Akira's memories partially and sent him back a week before Shido charged him for assault. That was my test for him, to see if he truly cared for his friends and other confidants he made, and he passed by proving that even if he had to relive that moment, not knowing the outcome, he chose to stand up against the ruin," the benefactor explained once more.

He then proceeded to explain why he's here, "But as to why I am back here, it's for the sake of Fireystoryteller's mental acuity. He needed to work on two different stories that were on his mind that have great potential as stories, this story being one of them. You know the whole what-if scenario in the back of everyone's mind."

"If you read the summary, you know what I'm about to do," he said before cupping Sumire's cheek, "I'm sorry, Sumire, and to you as well, Kasumi."

Moving as fast as any speedster, he pulled Kasumi to her left while pushing her ahead to make it look like she missed.

"Hope all of you are happy," he said to us with a heavy heart of what he's done.

As soon as he left, time resumed, and a horn was blaring while an umbrella flew across the air, signaling death.

Kasumi opened her eyes and got up to her knees, only to look behind her to see a gruesome scene. In front of her was Sumire bleeding out.

"Sumire…" was all Kasumi whispered as tears begin to form.

AN: And that's where I leave it for now. I know it's short, but I feel like anymore, and the next chapter would be difficult to plan. So to my readers, please give me feedback as it can help my writing process.
