Anna Bristol sat on a bench deep within the royal garden, her attention focused on the words she was writing in her notebook. There were now only 13 selected left in the competition and she felt very surreal about the fact that she herself was still here. The 5th weekly payment had been sent home to her mother and Anna was glad to know that even if she didn't win the heart of Princess Melody, at least her mom would be able to put away the royal's money for a rainy day. By this point, miss Bristol had interacted with the princess on several occasions and she couldn't deny that she was beginning to develop some serious feelings for Crown Princess Melody Schreave.
The only problem was that now she had to worry about if she would be eliminated. Before Anna would have been disappointed if she got cut, but it wouldn't have been a huge loss. It would have been something that she could have chalked up to an experience. Now things were different. The last thing that Anna wanted to have to go through was another heartbreak. Having one relationship crash and burn had been one relationship too many as far as she was concerned. At this moment in time, Anna was so fixated on her writing and her worries that she did not notice someone coming up behind her.
"Hey!" Princess Melody exclaimed as Anna flinched.
"Sorry, I didn't see you...I was writing." She replied as the princess grinned wide.
"Is it a sequel to Heroes In The Making?" Melody asked, her voice bursting with excitement.
"It is actually." Anna replied with a small grin. "The first one was focused on a nurse and this one is going to focus on a firefighter."
"It sounds exciting." Melody replied as she tried to get a peek of what Anna had written so far, but she would not give any sneak peeks.
"No, you have to wait to read it like everyone else." Anna insisted as this caused Melody to pout.
"Please, I'm a princess!" she whined as Anna held firm in refusal to spoil the story.
"I'm sorry, but I don't spoil for anyone." the author stated as she held her notebook close to her bosom.
"What if...I gave you a kiss on the lips?" Melody asked as Anna turned pink in the face.
"We'll see." Anna replied as Melody smirked before leaning in and kissing Anna on her lips. Anna enjoyed the single kiss more than any she ever had with her ex boyfriend.
"That was nice." she replied as Melody giggled.
"Now do I get a sneak peek?" Melody asked as Anna considered it for a brief moment.
"No!" she exclaimed as she stood up and raced into the garden with the princess running after her, demanding spoilers in abundance.
Later that day, Lily St. James was in the indoor theater. She had stumbled upon it and was thrilled to discover the smorgasbord of movies that were hers for the choosing. She had settled on a musical and settled into watch. Little did she know, she was not alone.
"I adore this one, it makes my top ten musicals easily." Melody replied as Lily smiled at her.
"I didn't know you were into musicals." the aspiring photographer replied as the princess took a seat next to her.
"Are you kidding me, musicals are awesome!" Melody exclaimed with a laugh.
"So, what has the princess been up to today?" Lily inquired as Melody shrugged.
"I caught up with one of my favorite authors and I had to eliminate another selected." she replied as Lily's ears perked up.
"Who was it?" she asked.
"The author or the eliminated?" Melody asked in return.
"The one you cut." Lily specified.
"The trans guy from Allens: Abraham Van Buren." the princess replied.
"Why did you cut him?" Lily asked as Melody heaved a sigh.
"We just didn't click, you know?" she explained as miss St. James listened. "I couldn't see a future with him, so it wasn't fair to keep him around."
"I suppose that is fair." Lily relented as she leaned back in her seat. She felt really bad for Melody because it was easy to see that as the list of selected dwindled down, Melody was going to have to start cutting people that she really liked. It was simply inevitable.
"You know what, we shouldn't have to worry about it." Melody decided as she slapped her hands down on the arm rests attached to the seat she was in. "I just want to have a moment where I can enjoy myself."
"Then let's do it." Lily said with a smile as the movie began. Before Lily could comprehend it, she leaned over and gave Melody a smooch. Melody was surprised as Lily suddenly pulled away.
"I'm sorry...I was just caught up in the moment!" Lily exclaimed as Melody giggled.
"So was I." Melody replied as she decided to even the scales and give Lily a kiss in return.
