"The truth? Looks like that boy wouldn't know the truth if it jumped out and bit him! So he doesn't want anyone knowin' he's destroyin' the coven from the inside out. Just to let you know that's against one of our laws" Char explains,

"Maybe Carlisle didn't tell Aro about his two gifted coven mates in case he wanted them?" Peter mused,

"Well since I was sat in that tree in their yard for four hours and nobody noticed me, it can't be 'cause of their gifts, because they are shit!" I say laughin',

Rosalie and Emmett looked shocked, how else did I know to call them? Boy, they need to learn everythin' from scratch. Well, that's not somethin' I can do or Peter and Char; we don't have the time nor the patience! But there must be someone out there that could but not the Denali's, they might have some trouble themselves for not reportin' the Cullens behaviour! I might just have to give them a call, it's not like they haven't ever met me! So there is no excuse for failin' to inform me, other than buryin' their heads up their own butts! Eleazar forgets himself, once a Volturi always a Volturi. I know I'll never be free of them, but I also know how to play the game. That's to be upfront and as transparent as possible with the brothers, they ain't that bad really!

I'm not suggestin' tellin' the truth, the whole truth and nothin' but the truth! But a close enough approximation keeps them happy and always has. Aro always thinks once he's read you once there is nothin' left to know, but there are ways around every gift. Peter takes charge of a lot of things for me and I can't tell what I don't know after all! I was debatin' when to go talk with the Cullens when my cell vibrated. Let me tell you I was surprised at who was on the other end and that she had my number,

"Hello Jasper, I got a surprise gift of a cell this evening! My dad delivered it to the rez for me and it has only three numbers in it so far, yours and two other Whitlocks called Peter and Charlotte, your family I presume?" Bella said,

"Yep, they are darlin'. I'm glad you called sweetheart, your voice is a balm to my soul right now" I said smilin' largely,

"Oh, you too. Is it strange I miss you already? I barely know you but I feel lonely without you and feel a small aching hole in my chest! Is there really such a thing as love at first sight?" She asks breathlessly,

"Yes darlin', it's fate and I can't wait to spend time with you after I've handled this situation," I tell her as truthfully as I can,

"Okay Jasper, will you call me later tonight? Hearing your voice makes me feel calm" Bella whispers as if she doesn't want anyone to know,

"You have my word suga', speak to you soon," I say reluctantly endin' our call,

"Isabella Swan? Oh shit, she's your mate isn't she?" Rosalie asks, smirkin' as I nod,

I then asked how they kept Edward out of their heads because they must have a way after all these years. Peter burst out laughin' when they said sex, the kinkier the better to offend the prude. He was a virgin when he was changed and still is after all this time. Savin' himself for his mate, who I very much doubt would have done the same, wow just wow! The idiot seems to think she'll be either from the same time in history as him or human, he knows nothin'. Emmett and Rosalie think he's already met her, but because she's a succubus and over one thousand years old, Edward refuses to accept her as a mate. Damn, he's on autodestruct, what an ass! We as far as I know only get one chance at it and he's blowin' his. Even if she's Tanya Denali, I bet he's refusin' 'cause she'd be wearin' the pants in that pairin'!

Ah well, looks like it's Showtime.

"Are we ready? Okay, let the games begin! Oh and Peter, thanks" I say turnin' towards the house,

"My pleasure brother!" is his quiet reply,

He's a good man, always has my back and is prepared to go that extra mile for me and Char, of course. Emmett and Rosalie headed into the house first and I just followed them in, Peter and Char stayed outside on the porch. Edward was the first to speak admonishin' them for their thoughts, what that has to do with him was beyond me.

"What? So I'm not allowed to think of my mate in your presence Eddie? Is that because you don't have one? You jealous dude, maybe you need to go visit Tanya then!" Emmett snarked at him,

"I have a mate, Isabella is my mate!" Edward retorted smugly,

"No, she is not! That girl hates you with a passion, I ain't seen in years!" I retort and they all spin around to look at me,

"In fact didn't she refuse you again today, said she'd kill herself rather than be with you?" I continue sayin',

"No of course not, that's ridiculous!" Edward muttered and I just pushed play on my phone and Bella's voice rang out,

"What? You think I want to date an overblown pompous asshole of a boy like you! Nope, I'm sure I don't want or need one of those in my life! I don't know why she's been shovelling you that horseshit buddy, but I was never meant for you!

Because let me assure you if I was, I'd kill myself first! Please believe me, there is nothing about you I feel is appealing! Now leave or should I call my father? Maybe I can tell him you're stalking me here at work and at home!"

"STALKING! You're stalking that poor girl! Carlisle, please tell me you didn't know!" Esme Cullen says from the top of the stairs and she is beyond pissed,

For an already defeated vampire, he just seemed to fold in on himself, what a useless fool. This was then the previously quiet Alice decided it was time to interject herself into the conversation. I could feel all her plottin' and schemin', lookin' for the best scenario in her head. The silent and almost infinitesimal interaction with Edward and his nod was so obvious but they didn't realise this at all. She cleared her throat unnecessarily and said,

"You kept me waiting long enough!"

I ignored her and knew it annoyed the little seer; well that's maybe a stretch callin' her a seer. She started tappin' her foot and had her hands on her hips.

"I'm talking to you Jasper!" she bleated and it was like nails on a chalkboard,

"That's Major Whitlock to you little girl! I don't know you and personally, I don't want to either!" I bark at her and she has the brains to step back,

"But..., I saw you, you're my mate!" she almost screeches and Edward started noddin' too,

I drop her like a stone, as she lay there writhin' on the floor I looked at him with a raised eyebrow. I was darin' him to back up her lie and then join her on the floor in pain.

"Let me make this plain for you folks, I have a mate and she ain't her! You can't physically hurt your mate and as you can clearly see I'm hurtin' her. Don't bother lyin' anymore Ms Cullen, I'm an empath and I know a lie when I feel it. That's the trouble when fools start playin' outside their own league, they get hurt!" I growled and everyone looked at me realisin; I knew everythin' they felt,

"Yes, quite the gambit of emotions you are all givin' off, rangin' from disgust to abject fear! Strange that considerin' you don't even know why I'm here yet? Are we feelin' guilty, Carlisle? It's not like vampires forget, so you know all our laws and broke them anyway! Did you think they were beneath you maybe? Or that you were somehow special enough to not have to abide by those laws? Laws that even the brothers themselves follow!" I sneered at the fool,

"What laws? What have you done Carlisle?" Rosalie demanded,

He just stood there with his head down and said nothin' at all.

"I could list them all and how those laws were broken, but we'd be here all night. But it's bad and a very serious outcome is prolonged imprisonment or dependin' on Master Caius' mood termination!" I explained and this brought his head up,

Edward opened his mouth to say something, but I'm not here to listen to a child.

"Save it, you're an unregistered vampire, so therefore not legally part of this coven or any other! Anythin' you have to say is irrelevant to these proceedin's and if you interfere I will terminate you without pause or a backward glance, her too! Whosever idea this was, is an asshole of the first order! Never shut yourself out of the negotiations ever, when the rulin' body is likely to turn up!" I say and he stands there with his mouth openin' and shuttin' soundlessly,

I had, had enough of this stupidity and started sendin' out truthful vibes at Carlisle; he was obviously the weakest link and just did what these two children told him to. I warned them all to sit down and shut up as I was in no mood for interruptions. Even at that Edward and Alice just couldn't keep their mouths shut, so I just called Peter and Char inside and had the remove their tongues. The shock on their faces that I wasn't alone was laughable, how could they not know they were out there.

"Damn Major, are these two real vampires at all? They ain't got no skills, no common sense, nothin' that makes a vampire a vampire! Didn't they sense us out there?" Peter says off-handed like and they don't look happy,

"Who knows Peter; it defies logic that's for sure! Esme, please take a seat, as second in charge you need to be aware of what's goin' on and willin' to take over the coven at short notice" I say and she looks shocked,

"But Edward...," she mumbles,

"As I said is not a registered vampire! Therefore he can't take over, but you three are and can vote out Carlisle for doin' a piss-poor job! It's the law, if your leader was doin' things detrimental to your covens wellbein', you can vote him out or kill him! Either is acceptable to the brothers under our laws" I say nonchalantly,

That brought a moan from Carlisle and garbled gaggin' noises from the other two. But Emmett was exultant and pumped the air.

"I don't think I want to be in charge, but I would be happy to have Emmett take over. Would that be okay?" Esme asked me,

"Yes, but all members must vote. So you three and Carlisle and I will be your impartial witness" I say smilin',

Carlisle decided now would be a good time to challenge me.

"Only another coven leader can do that!" he spat at me and Edward looked smug,

"Well, so you do know the rules? That's okay then Carlisle since I am. Would you like to call Marcus Volturi to confirm that? I have him on speed dial!" I snark back and he once more deflates,

"Yup, he's been our leader since he turned me and then Charlotte. Then we formed a coven when we left the south! Any more inane questions?" Peter sneered at Carlisle, who actually cringed,

"All in favour of Emmett McCarty becomin' the new leader of the Olympic Coven raise your hand, all against! Carried three to one and ratified by me, Major Jasper Whitlock of the Whitlock coven and on behalf of the Volturi" I said and ignored the outrage on the three fools faces,

I then took Emmett aside and suggested he call Luca in Malta for impartial advice on runnin' a coven and Garrett to come and teach him and at least Rosalie to fight. He was surprised I didn't suggest the Denali's, but I explained they might have their own troubles soon. Emmett wasn't even aware it was Tanya and not Eleazar that led that coven! Well, this way Aro can have two more mediocre powers because they are not wanted here by the other three and Carlisle doesn't have a leg to stand on. Time for me to make an official report I think. I signal for Peter to watch those two really closely, I can't have them runnin'. I just need my laptop and I can get this over with. I ask Char to retrieve it as I make sure to block any exit that Edward at least might try.

Yeah, I was right the fool made a dash for the stairs and I knocked him out completely and then removed his legs. Carlisle attempted to help him and I ordered him away, these were not coven members and Emmett had not given him permission to help.

"Leave him; nobody dies from losin' their legs! Emmett, do you give Carlisle permission to attend this nomad? Nope, in that case, take a seat, Carlisle!" I order him,

It looks like it's finally sinkin' in that they shot themselves in the foot not declarin' them as part of the coven. Neither Alice nor Edward has any rights and as I'm the law what I say here goes. The fact Emmett has taken over may just have saved Carlisle his life. They can recoup all monies in their accounts, sell off their belongin's legally and wipe them off the records of the coven.

"Now Emmett, as the new leader you need to call the reservation and ask the chief, William Black for a meetin' with the new Alpha of the pack Sam Uley. You must then ask for a new treaty which I will ratify and send to Italy, the last one was illegal, of course! So if you don't want the wolves takin' chunks out of you it would be best" I casually say and Carlisle looks shocked,

"But they died out! How? Why?" he asks confused,

"They phase due to proximity, do you know anythin' of any importance? Anyway Emmett it's either that or move because Sam don't like anyone but you and Esme apparently! If he knows those two are bein' kicked to the curb, he and the town will be ecstatic. I'd move if I were you but keep a line of contact open with them, for the future. I also suggest school be banned, everyone hated those two and also you Rosalie. Stop pretendin' to be somethin' you ain't and learn to be vampires!

Luca and Master Marcus can help you greatly, with that, the fightin' well as I said Garrett would be your best bet, he's the fourth best male fighter in our world!" I said reelin' off anything I could think of,

"Who are the top three then?" Emmett asks and I cringe,

"The Major, Master Caius and me. In that order!" Peter says smirkin' at me; he knows I hate bummin' myself up,

"Damn! Okay then, will you ask him on our behalf? He used to be friendly with Carlisle, but I believe he hasn't been around since Edward was turned" Emmett sneered and it was obvious why,

"Okay I have sent a report to Italy; the guard will arrive in one day. They will escort Edward and Alice to Volterra. Would you wish to speak on their behalf?" I inquire,

" No!" Rosalie and Esme say together,

"I can't blame you! Carlisle will also have to go, but as he's such a good friend of Master Aro's I'm guessin' he'll get a slap on the wrist and be returned without those two! Because he has a mate, nobody would sanction his death and now he is no longer in charge that will go a long way to savin' his bacon! But I have advocated he never work physically in the human world again!" I explain and see Esme's relief,

Carlisle looks distraught and I blame no one but him for what is comin' to pass. I foresee Edward havin' to work off Carlisle's indiscretion, but it seems fair after all they were his idea! I'm sure Master Aro will work it to his benefit, even though he allowed Carlisle to think he could do anything without recourse. Havin' his coven stripped from him by the other members will do the rounds and it is a shameful thing. Because the others are willin' to right his wrongs will most likely add to his ability to stay free, but who knows. Master Caius may want to make an example of him; therefore Esme would have to go too. But we will just wait and see, Master Marcus may decide she doesn't need to suffer for her mate's behaviour.

Well, I've had enough of these fools for one day, but I'm not stupid enough to let them wander free. Emmett explains that every house has a vampire-proof cage in the basement just in case! So I insist that both Edward and Alice are interred in there until the guard arrives. That way we won't have to be on guard all night and I'll get to call my girl. Carlisle looked like he wanted to argue but realised it was no longer his place. I left Emmett organisin' to meet with Sam tomorrow before the guard arrives. So all in all most of the strikes against Carlisle had been addressed by his coven and sorted, but the refusal to teach them, to register the two gifted ones and keep a low profile will be Master Aro's problem, plus when he reads them there may be way more going on.

"Hey darlin', I hope it's not too late to call you is it?" I say as she answers on the first ring,

"No, not at all. I've been waiting if I'm honest!" she answered breathlessly,

"So what have you been doin' suga'? I hope you haven't been bored, but I needed you to be safe! But Edward will be leavin' for Italy tomorrow and I doubt he'll be back for a very long time" I explain as much as I can,

"Oh, that's a relief! Then I can go home and get away from Jake. He really can't take a hint, kinda like Edward. The thing is he's on just turned sixteen and I'm going to be eighteen next month!" Bella huffed indignantly,

"Ah darlin', young boys are pretty immature. They can't control their hormones for a couple of years and it causes nothin' but trouble!" I tell her tryin' not to laugh,

"If it's not too rude to ask, how old are you Jasper?" she quizzes me,

"Twenty darlin', but only just and it ain't rude at all. I'll always answer your questions" I tell her honestly,

We talk for close to two hours and it helps me to understand her at least a little better and I realise Edward couldn't read her mind at all!
