Servants of Remnant

Chaldea is gone, but the memories remain. A world, filled with fairy tales, monsters and men. A history unlike any other. Sometimes… a hero is needed. From another world, from another time. Not all of them are great, not all of them are 'good'. But when the world needs a hero, these Servants answer the call. Perhaps only one, perhaps many do. These are the tales of many timelines. The 'Servants of Chaldea' who come to Remnant.

Euryale

It had been a few days since they'd laid claim to this warehouse, when trouble had started… namely in the form of a very annoying visitor, very late at night. Some boy in a lot of grey that she'd asked Bedivere to, politely, get to leave.

Needless to say, it hadn't been easy. Bedivere had ended up in a duel with the young man that spanned most of the warehouse, and nearly took five minutes what she watched from the office. The boy in grey had attempted to send a potshot at her with a kick of his boot, but that move had proven to be his downfall when he'd missed and Bedivere had managed to grab him before tossing the young man outside with a 'broken aura.'

Currently, she was watching, concerned, as Bedivere was inspecting the damages their intruder had caused to their little home. A few shipping containers had holes torn in them, one of the walls had a nice large hole as well. He'd shattered one of the office windows, and Bedivere had to clean up the blood from when he'd broken the young man's aura and stabbed him in the arm.

"Bedivere, do you have any idea who that was?" she asked, knowing he likely didn't have an answer, but she was bored of the silence. A bit of conversation would do wonders right now as she summoned her bow, before setting it down next to the chair she'd been using as a throne of sorts.

"I'm afraid I don't, but whoever he was, he seemed annoyed at our presence here, my guess is that he was also assuming this warehouse was going to be empty as well," the knight provided… before humming. "However, I did notice something," Bedivere mused, before jumping up to the office through the now open air window.

"Pray tell, what did you?" she asked, mildly interested as she held one hand to her cheek, tilting her head with a smirk on her face.

"His legs are likely prosthetics, like my arm is, he seemed rather interested when he noticed it, and when I hit his legs I noticed a distinct 'metal on metal' sound," Bedivere revealed, holding one hand to his chin as Euryale hummed. That was quite interesting…

"I swear of all the…" someone muttered, Euryale raising her head, Bedivere turning his as he looked down through the window towards the hole in the wall.

"State your business sir!" Bedivere called down, Euryale standing up and walking over to the window as well, peaking over the side to see a man in white with orange hair looking up at Bedivere with confusion on his face.

"Why should I?" the man stated, pointing his cane up towards the window. "Better question, what even happened here?" he gestured towards the rather messed up warehouse, Euryale humming as she watched Bedivere hold onto the window and lean out to speak to the man.

"A rather rude individual decided to start a fight in here, I had to evict him from the premises," Bedivere responded.

"Well, someone sounds fancy," the man muttered under his breath, huffing before continuing. "A rude individual you say? And what right do you have to this place yourselves anyway?" he pointed his cane again, and Euryale hummed as Bedivere continued.

"We've been holding this warehouse for several days sir," Bedivere stated, technically he wasn't lying, Euryale looked towards the door for a second, humming as she heard small footsteps outside it. Seems this man had help, unlike the last individual.

"Ok so… what, do you just live here?" the man asked again, tapping his cane against the ground.

"Why yes, we do. Also I would suggest that you call of your friend outside the door. It's quite rude to interrupt a conversation you know," Euryale decided to say, humming as the man's expression went surprised for a second, Bedivere holding one hand to his sword as the man held up his hands.

"Easy, easy, no one's gotta fight here, I'm just a curious man," he said, technically staying outside the building, given that he was only looking through the wall. "But if you don't mind me asking, was it you or this… other fellow who did this?" he asked, gesturing to the damages again as Euryale kept her ears open. She hadn't heard anything since she'd said her piece from outside the door.

"That was our visitor I'm afraid. His weapon of choice was quite destructive," Bedivere noted, and Euryale had to agree. Kicking bullets places with high impact tended to leave a rather large dent, as she'd so seen.

"Oh, great… boss is gonna be…" the man muttered before shaking his head. "Look, the building is… owned, if you'd rather not end up dead, or worse, I suggest you clear off, just a word of advice," he said, preparing to turn away.

"Would you happen to know who owns this building?" Bedivere asked politely, hand still on his hilt as the man looked back towards him and Euryale, and hummed.

"Well… I suppose I would, wouldn't I… my boss does, and he doesn't exactly like complications, but he's a reasonable enough guy, so… warning first," the man said, tapping his cane against the ground, as Euryale yawned.

"That's all well and good, but seeing as how the building was quite certainly in disuse, I'm inclined not to believe you," Euryale stated, and the man just looked towards her with one eye, before chuckling.

"Suit yourself girlie… don't come crying to me when one of the bigguns comes to clear you off," he said, waving with the back of his hand to them before walking away, Euryale humming as Bedivere looked towards Euryale in concern.

"Let these 'bigguns' come to us, then we'll decide if we need to leave or not," she stated, getting back in her chair and holding her hands together. She knew Bedivere hadn't exactly had much trouble with that intruder, but that was one man, a decently strong one, but still. They didn't exactly have a lot to work with if these' bigguns' came calling. Bedivere was certainly worse at handling his mana than she was, so he had far less to actually work with if a fight broke out and he was forced to actually use his arm or anything exceptionally superhuman.

"Perhaps we should leave, we don't exactly want to cause trouble," Bedivere suggested, and Euryale looked up to him with a raised eyebrow… and he just sighed before looking over towards the hole in the wall.

"Perhaps, but in the mean time… I have an idea of how we might be able to make these 'bigguns' not kick us off the premises," she started, standing up again and looking out the shattered window, Bedivere joining her.

"And what might that be?" he questioned, more than a little concern leaking into his voice as Euryale giggled, and looked at him with mischievous glint in her eye.

"Money, my dear Bedivere… a believe we may have just found ourselves in a world of criminals and busibodies… I hope it's not too much for you," Euryale started, and Bedivere looked just outright offended at her… before holding his arm, and closing his eyes.

"...We seem not to have much of a choice… if we want to find her, we'll need resources… and given our circumstances… criminality seems to be our only choice," he stated slowly, and just… groaned in disappointment. "Oh Gawain will never let me live this down…"

"Oh relax, it can't be any worse than a Grail War, what's a bit of enterprising? It might even be fun," she said softly, and held the windowsill, and just grinned.

"My king… give me strength," Bedivere muttered… oh of course he'd be against it.

The next night Euryale went out on her own, leaving Bedivere to hold down the fort. She wasn't one for action, normally, but if all went well, the only action would be that of words and trickery. And perhaps the fact she knew how to play a bit with men had something to do with it, and maybe there was a bit of thrill in being able to try and mess with a criminal enterprise. That devious archer had made it look so easy, so how hard could it be?

Her eyes were wide open however, the streets were to be the most dangerous at night, but at the same time it was the safest time for her to be active. The less people that saw her, the better, and those that would be seeing her late at night weren't likely to be the type who was going to report her presence to any sort of local authority. So all she had to do was look fancy, and start searching.

And her first stop? The biggest bar she'd seen. A club really. It was her only lead, and she needed to find a way to start her search somehow. Walking towards it, she saw a few groups of men on her way there, and a couple women as well. She had her bow on her back, and a small 'quiver' of arrows she'd manifested to fill it. Only around thirty, so she would have to make her shots count if it actually came down to it.

Stepping up to the club, she walked up to the doors, she walked in right through the doors… and right into a pitch black room, music blaring as a spotlight raised to reveal the doors before her. She smirked, strutting forward as the doors slid open, revealing a very futuristic club setting, dark, yet well light, black and white, and slowly changing colors as she took a very quick scan of the area. She had to keep that smile on her face as she spotted several of the strangely similarly dressed men walking around the club floor, opening carrying weapons, similar to how she was. Well, it seemed she'd come to at least the right place for criminals then.

Walking down the stairs, her dress dragging behind her she watched as many of the men gave her glances, their eyes hidden by her shades, but she could feel it. Their lust… she was, after all, the perfect embodiment of men's ideal woman at the time of her creation… but now, she was much more than that.

She noticed him as well. The man in grey from two nights before, speaking to what appeared to be the most well dressed man in the club, flanked by two girls, one red, one white. She frowned finally, the music in the club was more than enough to prevent her from just hearing the conversation that was being held. But she returned her false smile quickly enough. Walking behind a glass pillar, using her short height to her advantage, she leaned against it to hide right by the base, not to hide from any of the many goons around the club, but to keep Grey from seeing her.

Remaining casual as she waited, she took a minute, looking at the stares she was getting, likely for the contrast between her bow, her size and her dress, before coming out from behind the pillar and heading towards the bar, just as Grey was walking past the pillar she'd been hiding behind, completely passing him by with a smile on her face. As she neared the bar, she took a moment to grab the small handle under the stood next to the big, burly man, causing it to slowly fall before she climbed onto it and raised it back up with a quick tug. Looking at the barman, she decided to try and see if this would work…

"Bloody Mary, no ice please," she ordered, the man beside her motioning for his two girls to leave, both giving her looks of envy out of the corner of her eye before walking away as the Bartender just shook his head at her, and the man looked towards her.

"Aren't you a little young to be anywhere near this club shortie?" the man asked, and Euryale looked at him with a giggle, spinning herself in the seat to face him, and crossing her legs, holding one hand to her chin and staring him dead in the eye.

"Why, whatever do you mean? You'll find that I am much more than meets the eye," she teased, flashing her eyes as the man, for a moment, seemed to go blank for a second, her Siren Song skill having easily taken hold as she snapped her fingers. "Perhaps this conversation can take place… away from prying ears my friend," she decided, holding out her hand and allowing the older man to grasp her, as was her will. Gently lifting her off the chair and helping her down, he started walking, and she followed him, most of the suited men giving strange looks as Euryale noticed something out of the corner of her eye… Grey, and he was mingling in the crowd. Hmph, seemed he'd figured out she was here, or perhaps she was just unlucky for once… no matter, she'd deal with him if she had to, but given that she was currently in the presence of what appeared to be the club's owner, Grey likely wouldn't try anything.

The man led her up a flight of stairs, and into a much less futuristic part of the club, down a hallway actually lined with suited man carrying weapons, who watched as their boss walked towards the largest set of doors at the end of the hall, walking inside, Euryale following in before having him close the doors, and lock them. She took the big seat behind the desk, having the man hand her the key to the room, which she clutched in her hand with a smile before… snap.

The man's attention snapped back into focus, "Huh wha-" he looked around blinking for a moment before settling on her with a look of dull resignation. "Ah… shit,"

"Do you believe me now good sir?" she teased, holding the key between her fingers and waving it as the man started checking his pockets. She hadn't taken anything else… only the key. "I believe now, we can talk business."

"What do you want?" he asked plainly, pulling out a pair of sunglasses from his breast pocket and putting them on, before setting his hands on the desk and leaning forward. A nice attempt, but it wouldn't save him if she used her Siren Song again… but props had to big given.

"Why, information first. Like an exchange of names? Shall we… I shall introduce myself, and then you?" she said, holding her free hand to her chest as she spoke of herself, and then pointing the key to him. He nodded, and she smirked. "My name is Yale Gorgon, but please, address me however you desire, and you are?"

"Hei Xiong… call me Junior," he stated, "So, with the formalities out of the way, what are you doing here?"

"Ask I stated, information dear Junior," she gestured with a teasing wagle of the finger, before looking out behind her. Down on the dancefloor, behind the tinted glass, Grey was actually waiting it seemed, and given where he was watching… ah, he was waiting for her. "Such as the identity of a certain man in grey?"

"I'm afraid I don't give information to those who can't pay, or have nothing to offer…" he started, and she stared at him with a smirk on her face, and he seemed to lean back for a moment… smart man. "But, I'll make an exception. Mercury Black, he came to town recently and has been asking some pointed questions. He isn't exactly a nice fellow,"

"Oh I can tell, he seems to be waiting for me. Wants to finish what I stopped him from accomplishing it seems," she said teasingly, and Junior stood up, walking past her and looking out the window, scanning the club floor, and then turning his head.

"...What did you do to piss him off?" Junior asked, and Euryale chuckled.

"Oh he merely invaded my residence, and my… bodyguard had to drive him off. He was most displeased with the result it seemed, left the place such a mess…" she twirled the key between her hands, Junior laying his hand on the chair she was sitting in, and she looked up at him. "But unlike him, I can be far more… cooperative. You see, I am in search of… a job,"

"A job?" Junior asked, before Euryale got out of the chair, and let him sit in it, a subtle sign of respect in a way. "Oh what kind?"

"Why, the kind that offers money, simply enough… and perhaps one that doesn't ask silly questions," she said, jumping into the chair on the other side of the desk, still holding the key in her hands as Junior held his hand to his chin. It seemed he'd caught her meaning, so to speak.

"I might have something… depends on if you're capable purple," he started, and she smirked, holding up the key between both her fingers.

"I'm very capable, of many things dear Junior, and among them, pest removal," she started. She got the feeling he wasn't very happy with Grey, and she wasn't happy with him either. Common ground was the start of any working relation…

"Perhaps… show me what you can do purple, and I might have something else lined up," he started, and quickly she smiled… before snapping her mystic eyes for a moment, forcing him to do just one little thing, something that he wouldn't even notice. She'd had to try at least, see if she could get it to work… if she could, then Aura might just be something that could give her the edge she needed, and provided a nice, easy explanation for her mystical eyes, according to Bedivere.

She held out her hand, and Junior held out his, the two of them shaking as a pulse of Aura went down her arm, a small pulse of power that resonated with her Goddess Core… before a purple shield sprung over her for just a second, and she held out the key with her other hand. Junior hadn't even noticed it seemed, no reaction, and no realization. Sometimes, subtly worked wonders.

It seemed whatever reserve she had… well it was quite the large one. As she stood up, Junior spoke up. "Don't trash the place, you hear?"

"Why, I wouldn't dream of it," she said with a delightful false smile, and turned towards the door, Junior getting up and going over to the door as well, unlocking it, and walking out with her, the men, this time, not even caring as they walked back down the hallway and towards the club floor.

As they came down together, she looked towards Grey, Black, she preferred to call him Grey… and just smirked. She saw him grit his teeth, before starting to walk forward, off the dance floor as the club's white changed to purple, the man walking up and towards Junior.

He looked down at her, and she smirked, walking forward… and Grey quickly glared at her as she teasingly raised a finger to her lower lip, lowering her head just enough so that she was looking up at him… forcing herself to even… and given the expression on his face, it seemed her teasing was working.

And then, she started walking away, the man picking up his pace as Junior started motioning towards his men, who started to back off, several starting to clear the dance floor and evacuate the customers as several metal shutters started to lower over the glass pillars, and the dancefloor was quickly covered by a folding out floor. Junior quickly climbing back up the stairs as Euryale turned to Grey, walking away from him backwards.

"Why hello again mister Grey? Fancy meeting you here, all alone it seems," she teased, starting to turn towards the now covered dance floor, the lights still blaring as the DJ took cover, the song changing from the standard club music… ah, so this was to be her audition then? Such quick work from Junior.

"What did you do," he started, and she jumped backwards, landing on the opposite side of the stage set for them with one quick leap as Grey looked around, his eyes narrowing before he realized what was going on.

"Why mister Grey, I simply did what you couldn't… does that sting?" she asked with a chirp, almost instantly he seemed much more angry. Ah, seems someone was fragile… interesting. "Well that's a nerve I've touched, well, here I am, and no white knight in sight… oh, whatever shall I do?" she feigned helplessness… something she would have been long ago, but now? Now she could actually fight, and not have to rely on Medusa. But at the moment, she was on a mission… perhaps a bit of enjoyment was in order.

Of course, she mana might be a problem, but if she could get just a little bit of blood out of this, it would be all worth it… mana-wise at least, but right now, she needed him to strike first. He was already slowly walking forward, teeth being grit as he stopped just short of her, "Come now, after the beating my friend gave, to scared to take on little old me?" she taunted, already going for her bow…

He stomped on the back foot before launching forward with a kick, Euryale rolling to the side as he flipped over midair and landed in a handstand before backflipping onto his feet, she snapped an arrow into her bow, adjusting her aim slightly as he was turning to her and firing. Twenty-nine left as he kicked the arrow out of the air. Not unexpected, but as he dashed forward, Euryale jumped back, firing another arrow and snapping a third into her bow from her quiver as he was coming forward. He grabbed the second arrow out of the air before snapping it with his hand, staring her down before kicking a bullet at her… ah, the bar was behind her.

She slid out of the way of before the bullet passed by before firing an arrow in its path. The shot and arrow collided midair, sending the bullet spiralling into the wall above the bar as the lights changed again to a must more bright red. Grey actually seemed slightly surprised as she looked towards him, pulling out a fourth arrow and spinning it between her fingers before setting it in her bow. She smirked as he settled into a boxing stance this time.

This time, she looked past him, firing her arrow directly towards the pillar to his left and pulling out another arrow as he launched himself forward at her, she fired the next arrow before jumping over his kick, leaping over him… but Grey snapped his hand up and grabbed her by the leg, dragging her to the ground and slamming her into the floor below.

She grunted as he let go, and tried to stomp on her, but she rolled out of the way and pulled out and fired another arrow, Grey looking where she had fired… right as all three of her arrows collided mid air, the one she had just fired bouncing the two earlier shots of it, Grey raised his arms in surprise… as the arrows went completely wide, but he'd left himself wide open to a very quick shot to the gut. It bounced off his aura, but he lowered his hands quickly in realization as she jumped away from him again, pulling out two more arrows and firing one at a leg before raising the other arrow as he kicked that away before running forward… and then she snapped her arrow towards one on the ground, completely going wide with her shot before pulling out another arrow and firing… as her first launched the arrow on the ground into the air, while the second smashed into the fletching of the launched arrow, sending it spirally right into Grey's path, nailing him in the arm. He stopped, looking in surprise at the arrow now laying snapped in half on the ground beside him as Euryale mentally recounted how many shots she had left… twenty one.

"You're better than I thought princess," Grey admitted, begrudgingly, before smirking and running towards her again. He tried to kick her, but she flipped backwards into the air and firing an arrow as she righted herself in the air, Grey kicking it into one of the metal covered pillars as she landed on the stairs and spun another arrow out of her quiver.

"Why, I didn't know you thought so highly… now just try and keep up," she said, before leaping off the stairs and firing an arrow as she landed feet first against one of the covered pillars, before jumping off it to get behind Grey as he cartwheeled out of the way of her shot. She landed back on the covered dance floor, smiling as she closed one eye.

Grey kicked another two bullets at her, and she leapt over them, firing two more arrows at Grey, who kicked one out of the air, but misjudged the timing of her shot and got an arrow stuck in his pants leg. He looked down, Euryale smirking as she raised one hand to her mouth.

"Oh my oh my, seems you've failed to realize just what you're dealing with," Euryale taunted as Grey pulled the arrow out of his pants leg, and out of his actual, false leg before snapping it in his hand, and slowly raising his hands again… before rushing forward, throwing out a punch this time that Euryale backflipped away from, before cartwheeling to the left of his follow up kick, bouncing into the air and firing an arrow down at his head, Mercury raising his arms and blocking the arrow as Euryale landed behind him… only for him to lash out with a rapid kick behind him, catching her in the face.

She was flung back, her newly unlocked aura taking a rather decent hit as she quickly caught herself, landing on her feet as Grey spun around and rushed towards her. Pulling her bowstring back, she jumped up… and kicked forward, nailing Grey in the face with her surprise kick and knocking him back before landing on his head and jumping off him, sending him stumbling forward as she flipped midair and fired at his back while still upside down, nailing two shots into his back, his aura flickering as she spun again, landing on the dance floor as Grey turned to her, grunting in annoyance before rushing towards her, Euryale smirked, running forward to meet him, and firing an arrow halfway between their meeting. Grey kicked upwards, blocking the arrow, and allowing Euryale to slide under him and lean back as she did so, firing yet another arrow, this time into the back of his leg, causing him to nearly collapse forward.

He grit his teeth, grasping at the arrow lodged in the back of his knee join, only to have to spin his leg to kick another arrow out of the air, Euryale pulling two more out of her quiver… and firing as he was still mid spin, nailing him in the shoulder, the arrow bouncing off his aura as it shattered and the next… nailing him in the other shoulder, bouncing off his armor as Euryale giggled, pulled out another arrow and spun it between her fingers.

"And… you're done, unless you'd like to try fighting…" she looked to the sides, watching as Junior's men started coming out of the doors, and from down the stairs, Junior himself still in his office as Grey looked around, grabbing the arrow in his knee and ripping it out… before starting to walk away. "I thought so," she said with a smirk, watching as he went up the stairs to leave the club.

She waited as Junior came down the stairs from the hallway that led to his office, a smirk on her face as she put her arrow away, that had been rather fun actually. "So, the pest has been dealt with,"

"And without too much damage either… good work I suppose," Junior muttered, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a stack of Lien cards. "I'll be in touch," he offered, Euryale walking towards him and holding out her hand, the stack being dropped in as she smirked.

"Why, I'll be back soon enough Junior… we're just getting started," she said with a smirk, deciding to start walking to leave the club as Junior started ordering his men to get the wall the 'Grey' had shot fixed before letting customers back in. Almost as soon as she was out the doors, she stopped, and tilted her head to look to her left.

"Why, already sore about that are we?" she teased, Grey, or as she'd learned from Junior, Mercury Black, was leaning against the wall with anger in his eyes, but a calm expression on his face.

"I'm going to make this clear princess, stay out of the way," he said, before standing up and starting to walk away.

"Why, you are the one who imposed upon me, so if anything… stay out of mine," she decided to retort, and he stopped for a moment, turning his head to look at her, before huffing.

"You've got a lot of spunk for someone who looks like they should be living the high life… but that's not my business," he complained, before continuing to walk away. Euryale just hummed, but started going on her way herself, counting her cards. She'd have to ask Bedivere what the actual denominations of these were.

As she walked back towards the warehouse, she saw that the hole in the wall had been covered by a shipping container, moved to prevent anyone from getting inside that way. She walked up to the 'front door' of sorts, and opened it wide, walking inside to see Bedivere currently sweeping away with a broom he seemed to have procured from somewhere. "Oh Bedi~" she called teasingly, the knight of the round looking up as she held up her prize.

"I do believe… we are in business," she said with a devious smile on her face, a look of surprise on Bedivere's. She had some questions, but life came first… this was going to be quite interesting.

AN: And here we have Euryale being a devious minx, fitting really. Also a shout-out to Zaraka for being the first one to guess all the Servants in Siegfried's chapter correctly. But, a word of warning following today, because Final Fantasy VII Remake is about to come out. Don't expect chapters to come extremely fast as they have been for a bit. But, I hope to hear from all of you about what you have to say, and what you all do to the TV tropes page in time. I'll see all of you soon enough!
