The conversation with Kim lasted well over an hour, Rachel poured her heart out and said she missed her. After she told her everything, Kim told Rachel to come and live with her as she had a spare room. Kim lived in Scotland now after the relocation of Waterloo road, being head of pastoral care, she went with them, loving her job.

The evening after Rachel began packing in the bedroom, but she lost track of time as she did her final suitcase up and Adam got home and went upstairs to change.

"Rachel?" Adam asked looking at the bags and few boxes that were gathered together in the corner.

"I'm leaving, I Can't do this anymore Adam" Rachel said slumping on to the bed messing with her fingers.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm leaving, I'm quitting work, and moving"

"Where too?"

"As far away from a cheater like you"

Adam swallowed and began undressing his chef whites "how many more times it was just a mistake" he said his voice slightly raised.

"A mistake that's turned into a baby you always wanted and I can't give you"

"Rachel that's not what I meant, I love you"

"But it's clear you love her too" Rachel said standing up and facing him "I see enough dads walking away from their children during my day job, just do the right thing, be with her and your child"

"Rachel, don't do this" he said going over to her and facing her.

"I'm unhappy, I want my old job back, I want to teach, I don't want to be stuck in a mediocre job with someone who's got a child with another woman, you've got to see how that sounds"

"I can't change your mind can I?" Adam asked

Rachel sighed "Adam, I think we moved too quickly, I don't think we should of got married, these last five years have been lovely and I don't regret a single thing, I just need to be happy and right now I'm really not and turning into an alcoholic"

Adam nodded "I think we have grown apart because of everything that has happened, I'm sorry for making you feel like this, where are you going to go?"

"A friend is taking me in for a few days and then I'll find my feet"

"You don't have to leave"

"I do, for my sanity and mental health, I'm sorry Adam that it's come to this, but I need this change and you need to be with your new partner and son or daughter, I can't take that away from you"

Adam nodded "let me help you get this stuff in the car at least"

Rachel nodded as they begun moving the bags and boxes down the stairs into her car. After an hour this had been completed and Rachel was stood in her coat by the car.

"I suppose this is goodbye" Adam said emotionally not wanting her to leave.

"It is, goodbye and thank you for the past five years but now it's my turn to move on"

Adam nodded putting his arms around her "I'm sorry"

"I'm sorry too" Rachel said hugging him back and then breaking off "bye Adam"

"Bye Rachel" he said as she moved and got into her car to drive the distance to Scotland, luckily she had left most of her wine and was perfectly safe to drive the distance.
