Rachel pulled up outside the address she had been given and knocked on the door. A man opened it.

"Hi I'm" Rachel said as she was cut off.

"Rachel fleet?" The man asked.

"Yeah" Rachel smiled

"Come in" he smiled moving out the way and then closing the door behind her.

"Rachel!" Kim smiled practically running and holding her tightly as they shared an embrace. Rachel smiled holding her tightly missing the Kim hugs. Kim let go and looked at her "you still look stunning"

Rachel blushed "thanks"

"Oh sorry, introductions, this is Andrew, we got married eventually"

"Of course it is! I remember you" Rachel smiled

"Mom can I have some chocolate milk" a little boy behind Kim asked.

"You know it's too late for that, you can have normal milk" Andrew smiled looking down at him, after receiving a nod he walked him to the kitchen leaving the two women alone.

"Is that dexter?" Rachel smiled remembering the tiny baby.

"Yep, six years old now, then upstairs we've got James who's three and Lola who is 7 months"

"Wow, you sure you have space for me?"

"Of course we do, come on, let's open a bottle for old times sake you have so much to tell me"

Rachel chuckled, was wine and reminiscing really a good idea? "I promise I won't be in the way for long" she said as she followed Kim to the lounge.

Kim had poured three glasses leaving Andrew's on the side as he took dexter to bed with his milk. Kim brought two glasses in for her and Rachel and sat on the sofa with her.

"So what happened and start from the beginning, don't miss out any gory details" Kim smiled

Rachel laughed "We just fell out of love I guess, he made me give up teaching, and I was working for social services until I quit yesterday, I worked with Chris"

"Oh I bet his good at that" Kim smiled "is he doing okay?"

"Yeah his great, happily married with kids, I seem to be the only one left, what with Mel and Eddie together"

"I don't think that is true, also rumour has it Mel and Eddie are no longer a thing, you will move on from Adam"

Rachel took note of what she said about Mel and Eddie "It didn't help he got one his waitresses pregnant, my only close friend I was allowed to have"

"Seems fairly mentally abusing to me" Kim said downing another gulp.

"Anyway, I'm out of it now and it was really amicable, so I don't think he meant it like it sounded, but was just a crap end to be honest, I wanted to have a child by now and here I am not able to get pregnant" Rachel sighed taking a gulp of wine.

"He could have been firing blanks you never know" Kim smirked trying to make her laugh to which Rachel caved and smirked.

"What are you doing now?"

"We're both at the road at the moment, Andrew is acting head on a temporary contract"

"Oh yeah, I heard it had relocated, strange move that"

"Yeah we went academy status and then it all kicked off with the owners and got messy, we even have a boarding house for the kids that wanted to stay"

"That's good at least" Rachel nodded "Tom got someone yet?"

Kim bit her lip "well as you know it's never simple with Tom when it comes to relationships, he married Nikki they have a child together, Nikki now lives with a woman called Vix and it all kicked off, now her and Nikki are engaged, Tom's divorced her and the child is in the middle of this messy relationship, so Tom has pretty much given up on dating"

"Wow, sounds complicated"

"We haven't got a headteacher, you know, the post is going on the academy website, you should apply"

"Oh I don't know, I was hoping for a simple job like teaching English" Rachel smirked.

"me and you both know where you belong and it's in that office"

Rachel took another sip "I'll think about it"

"Closing date is in three days don't take too long" Kim smiled

Rachel nodded "did you ever hear from Eddie again?" She asked recalling their earlier conversation.

"We had him as a supply maths teacher for a bit and then we didn't see him again that was about a year ago so I don't know"

Rachel nodded "I just don't fancy bumping into him because we all know what will happen, so it's reassuring that he hasn't been around for a while"

Kim chuckled "you shouldn't, I think it's time for a new life a fresh start"

"Definitely, going to start house hunting tomorrow got plenty of savings but you know how long it takes"

"I know, and there is no rush, get back on your feet and become an independent woman again"
