Chapter 15

It had gone 8pm before Ben had noticed an issue. Rachel was lay on the sofa, in her dressing gown and she had not moved from that position since she arrived home.

"Rach, What's for tea?" Ben asked

"Have a look in the freezer, or do a sandwich I'm not feeling well ben" Rachel said her eyes closed as she leaned her arm on the arm of the sofa propping her head up.

Ben was about to respond to inform her that he couldn't cook when the bell rang.

"Can you get that?" Rachel asked.

Ben nodded wanting to know what was up with his aunt, it was starting to worry him. He got up and opened the door.

"Hiya mate, is Rachel downstairs?" Eddie asked standing holding some flowers.

"She's in the lounge, she's barely talking, she's not eaten, ive not eaten I don't know what to do"

"Oh don't worry mate, lets order you a pizza" Eddie said getting his phone out as he stepped into the house and closed the door behind him. After a silence of Eddie messing about on his phone he looked at ben and put his phone away. "Cheese Pizza on its way I remember your favourite" Eddie smirked shaking Ben's hair who smiled in response. "Now can you go into the kitchen so I can speak to Rachel?"

"Of course, ill listen out for the door, thanks Eddie"

"Your welcome" Eddie smiled walking into the lounge, shutting the lounge door behind him. "Hey you" He said walking over to her, putting the flowers on the coffee table. Rachel was still zoning out ignoring Eddie. Eddie kneeled in front of her and looked into her eyes, it was at that moment Rachel found his and she broke down into tears. Instinctively Eddie stood up and wrapped his arms around Rachel holding her closely as she cried.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" Rachel kept repeating as she sobbed. Eddie was confused not knowing what she was on about. After a few moments she calmed down, Eddie let go and returned kneeling in front of her and took hold of her hand.

"What's happened?"

"I'm sorry Eddie" Rachel said once more.

"for what?" Eddie asked confused.

Rachel took a deep breath sitting up and avoiding his gaze, removing her hand from his grasp she started playing with her fingers as she watched them. "You know we slept together" Rachel started receiving a plain 'yeah' from Eddie. "I found out a while back I was pregnant"

"With my baby?"

Rachel nodded still not looking at him.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Eddie asked defensively.

"What does it matter? It doesn't exist anymore" Rachel sniffed finally looking up.

"But that was what 3, 4 months ago?" Eddie said getting agitated.

"I know, I'm sorry"

Eddie sighed as silence fell between them. He sighed once more and began to speak "Stop apologising, I know we haven't really spoken unless at work, and at times its had tension" Eddie reasoned "I'm not happy, but it is what it is isn't it" he said kneeling up and wiping her tears. "You promise me, you wont go through this on your own again"

"Promise, the sickness, the headaches the general feeling of unwell, it was all the baby" Rachel sighed "I was just starting to feel better and then poof, gone"

"Well I'm staying the weekend no buts, were going to run you a bath your going to relax and then I'm going to make you breakfast in bed tommorow"

"You don't have too" Rachel said

"But I do, because no matter what happens, I bloody love you, you daft sod"

Rachel couldn't help but smile. "Thankyou" she smiled placing a hand on his cheek. "Oh what about ben!"

"Don't worry, his got a pizza coming and he knows me, hey if all this goes to plan at least if I move in his already like a son"

Rachel smiled "too soon"

"I brought an overnight bag with me, because I was determined for you not to be on your own when your poorly, also brought you flowers" Eddie smiled passing them over to her.

"Oh there lovely, thankyou" she smiled

"Now, I'm going to run you a bath and your going to relax, no work this weekend, I'm putting my foot down"

"Oh but there is so much to do before Monday"

"I'll do it, and I'll sleep on the sofa tonight, I don't want you to be uncomfortable"

Rachel thought for a moment as once again the silence fell between them. She took a deep breath "no" she replied. "Sleep in the bed with me" Rachel pleaded.

"Are you sure?" Eddie asked

Rachel nodded "definitely, we're both wearing pyjamas, and lets face it we won't be doing anything with how sore I am, but you can be my hot water bottle" Rachel smirked cheekily

Eddie smiled "alright then". At that he stood up and went upstairs to run Rachel a bath so they could enjoy the evening together relaxing.
