Having been driven far away from Pride Rock, I stared as the rain started to come down and douse the fire, not hearing Mom say. "Eliza, what did you think you were doing up the..."
Debbie held out her arm in front of her, Dad & Donnie and walked over to where I had just dropped to my knees, thinking that Simba had perished in the fire.
Feeling her hand on my shoulder, I broke into tears and wrapped my arms around Debbie, who comforted me, as well as Mom and Dad.
As they saw this, Darwin, Pumbaa, the meerkats, and Nala feared the worst as well.
But then, their sadness turned to surprise when they saw who was coming down from Pride Rock.
Even Dad was surprised as well.
"Look!"
I turned...and saw that Simba was alive.
Once back at Pride Rock, my family and I made our way past the lionesses to Simba, who smiled upon seeing us, especially me.
He pulled me in a big hug, saying. "I couldn't have done it without you, Eliza."
"You're welcome." I said, hugging him back, before we heard Rafiki's staff rattling.
From where he was, Rafiki motioned for Simba to ascend Pride Rock as king.
Simba turned to me one last time.
With a supporting smile, I motioned him to make his way up to Rafiki, who bowed before him.
In return, Simba pulled him in for a hug.
"It is time." Rafiki said.
While Mom started filming with her camera, we all watched as Simba climbed up to the top of Pride Rock, where he could see the rain clouds parting, revealing a starry-night sky, recalling Mufasa's final word. "Remember."
With his confidence and strength regained, Simba let out a mighty roar, which the lionesses returned back
While watching with my family, my smile grew bigger, for I knew that with Simba taking his rightful place as king, the Pride Lands will finally be restored.
