The Battle of Erodysk

Featuring the Eighth Doctor and Asla

Commandant Jexis stood at the controls of his Battle TARDIS and activated an open communication channel to Cardinal Ollistra. Jexis, in his ninth incarnation, was a tall handsome man with brown hair and a short beard. His sharp eyes were fixed on the scanner screen, which showed an armada of Dalek ships ploughing through the Time Vortex towards the Time Lord battle fleet. The Dalek ships appeared as small red dots and Jexis's scanner showed a large shoal of red dots. This didn't worry him though. In his sixth incarnation he would have been worried.
"Commandant Jexis, I will give you full command of the battle fleet. I am needed by the High Council for a very special mission and you are my most trusted advisor." Ollistra announced, "Make me proud. Do your best for Gallifrey."
The link went dead and Jexis piloted his TARDIS into the Dalek armada, screaming, "For Gallifrey!"

Far away, on the dark grey world of Erodysk, a TARDIS materialised. It did not look like a tall blue police box though; it was a tall grey cylinder which had a short silver section that opened and Co-Ordinator Tevahl emerged from the TARDIS, carrying a staser. He had detected the approach of another TARDIS which was critically damaged and he had come to Erodysk to prevent the TARDIS from being lost to the Daleks.
Suddenly, a group of three Daleks materialised behind him and their eyestalks stared at him, the blue lens burrowing into Tevahl firmly.
"EXTERMINATE!" the Dalek in the centre of the group declared, just as a tall blue police box suddenly started to fade into existence around Tevahl, deflecting the Dalek's blasts.

Inside the blue police box, a youngish man with short brown hair and dressed in battered clothes manipulated the controls on the hexagonal console in the centre of the room. His companion, a slightly old woman wearing a brown leather jacket and t-shirt, stood nearby, looking at the new arrival.
"Did you mean to pick him up?" Asla asked the Doctor, pointing at Tevahl.
"Yes. He's a Gallifreyan Co-Ordinator, judging by the uniform." the Doctor deduced, walking over to Tevahl, "Why are you here? And where is here anyway? I didn't get a chance to check which planet we'd landed on."
"I'm Co-Ordinator Tevahl and a damaged TARDIS is heading right for this planet. There are also three Daleks outside, in case you didn't notice." Tevahl explained, as the Doctor ran back to the central console and activated the dematerialisation control.
"I am aware of the Daleks you know. That's why I rescued you." the Doctor replied, "And I'm finding a better parking spot. You didn't answer one of my questions, Tevahl."
"Which question?"
"He asked about the name of the planet you were on." Asla prompted, helpfully.
"I was on Erodysk. You heard of it?" Tevahl asked the Doctor.
"No, never been there before. But I've detected your damaged TARDIS, Tevahl." the Doctor said, before staring at the scanner in horror.
"Something bad's going right towards that damaged TARDIS, isn't it?" Asla deduced.
The Doctor nodded, grimly.

Jexis was still alive. He had managed to plough through several Dalek ships successfully however his TARDIS was somewhat damaged. His dematerialisation circuit was overloading and the artron crystal at the centre of his TARDIS was smashed, leaking deadly artron energy. Jexis had inhaled some of the artron energy and his regeneration had begun. But Jexis was holding back his regeneration as he needed to regain control of his TARDIS and prevent a disaster from happening.
"Oh no that can't be good." he muttered, noticing something bad coming towards the TARDIS on the scanner.
A Cyber Converter was heading right for his TARDIS.

The Doctor showed Asla and Tevahl the image of the Cyber Converter hurtling towards the damaged TARDIS on the scanner and piloted his TARDIS towards the damaged TARDIS, trying to create a dual pilot linkup so that he could prevent the Cyber Converter from colliding with the damaged time-space ship.
"Doctor, please let me try and pilot your ship." Tevahl pleaded, "I know you didn't want to be a part of the Time War but perhaps I can do something for you, after you've done so much for Gallifrey."
"Tevahl, I know this ship more than you and I've had more experience flying it. Please let me work." the Doctor pleaded, just as the damaged TARDIS smashed into the Doctor's TARDIS, throwing the Doctor's TARDIS back through the Vortex towards an armada of Dalek ships.
"You were saying?" Asla remarked, as the Doctor activated the materialisation control and the TARDIS materialised on Erodysk.

Jexis fell back onto the floor of the console room as his TARDIS collided with another TARDIS which had suddenly appeared in the Vortex. The Cyber Converter was only a few metres away from his TARDIS and getting ever closer. Jexis thought about what he should do next: Ollistra's fleet was presumably dead and his TARDIS was critically damaged. He thought about his next destination for a few moments and then the Cyber Converter collided with his TARDIS. The scanner went black and a small part of the Cyber Converter entered his TARDIS, attaching itself to him and converting him into a Cyberman.

The Doctor, Asla and Tevahl stepped out of the Doctor's TARDIS onto Erodysk and noticed that it was covered in the remnants of Daleks and the carcasses of Battle TARDISes, their pilots scattered everywhere. Tevahl stared in horror at his fallen comrades and glanced up at the Doctor.
"This is what happens when you don't help." Tevahl said, walking away into the battlefield.
"What do we do now?" Asla asked the Doctor, "Should we find the damaged TARDIS?"
"I think I've already found it." the Doctor announced, looking up at a TARDIS which was falling to the ground rapidly.
They both shared a look and hurried towards it.

Ollistra's TARDIS materialised onboard the Exterminator, a Time Lord battlecruiser which was hidden away in a second of time. Ollistra stepped out and saw that a familiar face was stood in front of her: Marie Jones was standing by a large window, looking out into the depths of space.
"Marie Jones, what exactly are you doing here?" Ollistra wondered.
"I've come from a potential future with a warning." Marie explained.
"And what is that warning?"
"Don't let the Cyber Lord live and don't let the Cyber Lord arrive on Gallifrey. If you do, then the entire universe will fall to the Cybermen."
