The Cyber Lord
Featuring the Eighth Doctor and Asla
The Doctor and Asla had now reached the crashed TARDIS and the Doctor instantly knew that the Cyber Converter had collided with it in the Vortex. This was because the exterior of the TARDIS was silver, with several glowing blue crystals embedded in the cylinder. The door to the TARDIS opened and Commandant Jexis stepped out, albeit transformed: the handles of a Cyberman's helmet had been attached to his head and he wore silver Cyber armour, with a glowing blue circular light at the centre of it.
"A hybrid of two monstrous races: the Time Lords and the Cybermen." the Doctor announced grimly, "You've even inserted Cyberman technology into a TARDIS. Cybermen with time machines are disasters waiting to happen."
"Indeed, Doctor." Jexis said, his voice sounding more like a Cyberman's voice than his old voice, "I have been integrated into the Cybermen's neural network and now I can regenerate whenever I am weak or dying. I was on the brink of death prior to my conversion and now I can change. The Cybermen shall never be killed again!"
The Cyber Lord entered his TARDIS and dematerialised, leaving an astonished Doctor and Asla. They took a few moments to wonder what they should do next and the Doctor reckoned that they should pursue the Cyber-TARDIS's trail through the Vortex.
"Has this ever happened before?" Asla wondered, as they sprinted back to the TARDIS, "The Time War and the Cyber War colliding?"
"No, it hasn't. I've always dreaded this moment, when the two greatest wars ever fought collide. The universe may never see the end of this." the Doctor replied, grimly.
They entered the police box and it dematerialised, heading into the Time Vortex.
Ollistra was afraid, for the first time in her life. She had always dreaded the moment when two massive wars like the Time War and the Cyber War would collide and now she realised that that moment was now. Gallifrey had called on the assistance of Marie Jones a few times before and Ollistra knew who Marie really was, but Marie insisted that she wasn't the Doctor any more. Her past had been put behind her the moment she had regenerated and nothing could change her mind.
"Are you sure?" Ollistra wondered.
"Definitely. Now get back to your TARDIS, Ollistra. You have a Cyber Lord to stop." Marie instructed.
Ollistra did as she had been told.
Inside his TARDIS, the Doctor had managed to lock onto the Cyber Lord's TARDIS but the course through the Time Vortex was rough. Alarms were blaring throughout the console room and Asla was holding onto one of the nearby railings for her life.
"Where are we going?!" she yelled, as the TARDIS shook her from side to side rapidly, "Please tell me we're not going to crash."
"Hopefully not. The trail's going cold although I am picking up a trace of something." the Doctor replied, just before the TARDIS ground to a halt. The alarms stopped and the rocking of the console room ceased. He dashed around the console, adjusting controls and flicking switches.
"Found out what the trace was? It could be the Cyber Lord's next destination." Asla suggested, making the Doctor look up for a second, smile and continue mashing buttons on the console. The console pinged and he beamed, clapping his hands together gladly and looking up at Asla.
"Earth, sometime during the twenty first century. Fancy a trip?" he proposed.
"Oh yeah."
Inside Ollistra's TARDIS, Ollistra watched footage of the Cyber Lord's TARDIS dematerialising and shuddered in horror. Marie had warned her of what would happen if the Cyber Lord escaped and now the Cyber Lord had escaped.
"Oh, Doctor." she muttered to herself, "I need you now."
