A/N Sorry for the late update cause I have things to do in my life, an important thing to do, so..here the chapter
Eren wakes up early in the morning, just the same in the past 2 years of his lives. Slowly sitting up and readjust himself by looking at his comrade that still asleep. He just scoffs and smiles a little looking up at his comrade. He comes out from the cabin to breath the fresh morning air and doing some light work out before anything else.
After doing that, he goes prepare himself for this training day that Shadis will sabotage his equipment, but luckily from his training, he can easily maintain his balance even though the gear is defective. He wearing the harness and the military jacket that have a sew cadet symbol and look to the mirror to tied up his hair. The usual style that he always goes on is the half-man bun. It the style he uses in the past life when he gets older.
After some time, the dormitory door was slammed open which was followed by the Instructor's signature bellowing voice. Eren just stood at the end of the room that has a small mirror; Eren put himself in salutes as he heard Keith approaching the door a few moments prior. All of this thanks for his hearing capability
"Wake up you little shit! Get up and get dressed! You fucking pathetic little shits will start your first day of training!" Keith ordered, waking all the trainees.
Well, not all the trainees. On the far edge of the room lay Bertholdt, still fast asleep and positioned bizarrely; his legs rested on the walls.
"Oi! Fucking Tree! Didn't I say to get up!?" Keith demanded as he stomped over the ground, making Berthold startled and subsequently hitting his head on the ground
"Y-Yes, sir!" Bertholdt swiftly getting up to his feet and saluting.
Walking back to the door, Keith stated, "You all have five minutes to get dressed, then meet me on the training field."
"Yes sir!" All the trainees yelled in response and start preparing themself by wearing military clothes. Some of them still have some problem with the harness that they have to put it on their body
Just as he was about to depart, he looked back at Eren. "Oi. Yaeger. Since you're already dressed, you can follow me".
"Yes, Sir!"Eren just responds at Shadis while looking at him with his dead eye.
Eren follows Shadis to another cabin that has many chair and table to fulfil all of the 104th Training Corpse members. Eren remember this moment which he almost sleeps because it was boring as heck but he stay wake to learn 3d manoeuvre gear before going on to the practical test which his gear gets sabotaged by Shadis himself
Just he sits down on the chair, all of the 104th Training Corpse including Armin and Mikasa entering the cabin. They see Eren, their friend and start walking to him for sitting down beside him. After no more Cadets entering the cabin. One of the instructors start teaching us about the 3d Monuever Gear and all of them pays intention to the lesson especially Armin
The Instructor talks about the founder of the device. The name of the original founder is Angel Aaltonen, and it gets renovated by Xenophon Harkimo. For the rest of the lesson, the instructor talks about the part of the device, technique and many more that related to 3d manoeuvre gear. The time passed so fast that it is already afternoon.
"GO OUT TO THE TRAINING FIELD YOU MAGGOTS!"Shout Shadis after he burst into the cabin and order all of us to go to the Training Field. Eren being Eren, he not unfazed by his scream, he just sits up and goes to the training field without any word while his comrade late a couple second.
On the field, all the Cadets were lined up, listening to the Instructor's instructions to divided them into different groups, each one assigned to a harness which, upon use, was designed to emulate 3d manoeuvre gear. In their respective group, each trainee used the gear in five-minute intervals before relinquishing the harness to the next member of their group. Every trainee appeared to be able to properly balance using the harness, some more though than others, of course. Individuals such as Mikasa, Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie were among the best in this regard.
"Right, my times up". Connie stated as he removed himself from the harness.
"Your turn now Armin, good luck" Connie says to Armin to easy himself up
"Thanks Connie" Armin appreciatively nodding his head and he replied
Glancing over at his childhood friend, Eren saw Armin equipping the gear. Upon doing so, Armin was able to effectively maintain his sense of balance, staying upright; other members of his respective group praised him as he did so. Redirecting his attention back to his own harness, emphasis on "his" as he was designated his own harness, as Keith's attempt at sabotage would've failed if other students additionally immediately collapsed upon using the equipment.
Upon equipping the harness, despite the faulty equipment, he found himself balancing with relative ease because of his 2 years of training with the illegal 3d manoeuvre gear. So this gonna be easy for him
"Huh, I was honestly expecting this to be more difficult. I suppose 2 years of training really paid off in the end" Eren thought to himself while balancing himself with the gear without ant problem at all
Looking over at Eren from her own group, Mikasa was undecided on whether she should be pleased or disappointed at Eren's success. On one hand, she was pleased that he was able to balance himself properly, knowing Eren, or at least her Eren, would be ecstatic at upon this accomplishment. However, on the other hand, she was disappointed as this meant Eren was one step closer to becoming a soldier, meaning he is one step closer to putting his life in danger. In the end, though - she knows full well - no matter what she does - she'll neither be able to convince Eren out of his ambition of becoming a soldier and inevitably joining the Scouting Legion. All she can do is follow in his footsteps, and protect him along the way.
Over on the side-lines, Shadis was watching Eren in bewilderment.
"I sabotaged his gear, did I? Why was it still working?"Shadis ask himself a question
"Maybe... Maybe Grisha's son has more to him than meets the eye" Shadis thought about Eren
Now knowing his action in obstructing Eren's progress had failed miserably, Eren has the skill to be a good and powerful soldier, he has to admit that. Shadis realised he might as well inform Eren of the gear's faulty nature, all under the guise of an "engineering error".
"Oi Yaeger! Get off the harness for a moment". Shadis ordered.
Eren complied with the demand with no question at all, detaching himself with ease. Since the Instructor had been silent throughout the task, his voice had alerted the attention of the other trainees. Crouching down, Keith momentarily examined the equipment before standing up again, facing Eren and holding what Eren knew to be broken apparatus.
"Hm, it appears that this equipment was faulty; this is unheard of before. I'll order for an immediate repair". Keith spoke to himself, acting confuse but Eren knew this all an act by Shadis himself.
"Anyways, good job Yaeger, you passed exceedingly. This is not an excuse to slack off though. I expect peak performance from you" Shadis compile Eren succession with the faulty gear that he sabotages
"Y-You mean he balanced despite having faulty gear!?" A trainee said in awe. Who doest when you can balance yourself even with faulty gear?
"That's amazing! You've got to teach me!" Another trainee desperately requested Eren to teach him how to do it
Due to being so awestruck, the trainees failed to realise that Eren had already left The Training Ground, heading for the canteen; the sun was starting to set, indicating it was time for dinner.
Stale bread and tasteless soup; that's the only two items of food Cadets were entitled to receive. Upon consumption, those who had not eaten it prior would recoil in gagging disgust; no flavour; neither sweet nor sour, just bland. Also, he let go of his long hair.
Of course, since he had spent two years on diet solely consisting of this tasteless combination, Eren appeared seemingly unperturbed when eating the food. Although, Marley food that they gave to patients is another different level than this tasteless soup and bread. The approximately dozen overly excited trainees surrounding him while interrogating him how he can do that is annoying. Who doesn't feel annoyed when someone disturbs you when you eating
"Come on man! You gotta' tell us how you did it!" Thomas eagerly questioned Eren how he can stabilize himself even his gear is faulty
"I told you. You have maintained a sufficient sense of balance. It's not that difficult" Eren answered, with his emotionless voice but it has some irritating voice in it. It is because of the barrage of question coming his way.
"Hey Eren, I heard you're from Shiganshina, did you see that big ass titan, you know, the one who could look over the wall?" Another trainee questioned, interrupting Eren's and Thomas' chat
"Of course I saw it, it's kinda hard to miss" Eren answered as though it was a stupid question.
Suddenly a voice that seems, a self-righteous, pompous voice spoke up from a couple tables over.
"Heh, you think you're so fucking cool don't you Yaeger? What you did wasn't special; I'm betting you'll quit one week in at maximum" Jean mocked, envy apparent in his voice.
"I've no intention of starting a fight with you Jean. It won't end the way you think it will" Eren stated, unfazed by Jean's attempts at mockery while giving him a side glance
"I definitely was expecting that.…. I mean Eren not starting a fight for the past 2 years it not worrying me anymore, but poor him still affected by the death of his mother that makes him emotionless as this" Mikasa think to herself
"Oi, what's that supposed to mean Yaeger!?" Jean angrily demanded, standing up from his seat.
Having finished his food as well as having no intention of initiating a conflict, Eren stood up to leave, he has a thing to do this night
"Hey! Don't you walk away, I'm talking to you!" Jean protested as he ran towards Eren, his fist raised to punch him on Eren back
Just as he was about to land a hit to the back of Eren's head, Eren swiftly turned around and give him a sidekick at Jean chest that results in him get back a couple of feet before falling down and land on his head
"Ow! What the fuck was that! My fucking head!" Jean groaned, clutching his head in pain and his chest
Eren walked up to him. "You should know, attacking someone from behind is a cowardly move. But considering you're planning on joining the Military Police, you already know a lot about "cowardly moves", don't you Kirchstein?" Eren says to Jean with his emotionless eye but it has a spice of anger in it
Jean tried to stand up again, only to collapse onto the floor once again, his head and chest still pounding in agony. As it became clear to Eren that he's done here, he once again turned towards the exit, heading for the dormitories - he has some important thing to do this night. Unbeknownst to him that a certain Annie Leonhardt was amazed by the move Eren performed, it was brutal, fast and deadly. It can result in fatal injuries if play right
"Huh, he knew how to fight to - how mysterious are you, Eren Yeager? " Annie questioned herself still amazed by Eren work
Seeing Eren's departure, Mikasa handed the rest of her remaining food to Sasha, who was sitting on the table to her left. On handing it over, Sasha immediately began to salivate - as though she hadn't eaten in weeks - despite the fact she just finished her own food a brief moment prior. As Mikasa caught up with Eren, walking beside him, she promptly began to voice her concerns regarding Eren's change in behaviour for the past 2 years.
"E-Eren?" Mikasa said his name meekly.
"Hm?" Eren responded, still facing forwards.
"Are you okay? I-It's just you've been acting... different for the past 2 years, that's all".
"Well, after seeing my mother dead, I promise myself to be more mature and I a soldier now; if I succumb to aggression and emotions in general, I'll slip up, make a mistake, a mistake that can result in many death". Eren explained.
The first part was a lie, Eren overly aggressive personality of his childhood was moulded by his own personal experiences. His naivety became evident to him over time; the line between 'good' and 'evil' became very thin over the years.
"Mikasa it late now you need to get some sleep for tomorrow " Eren suggest after talking to Mikasa for some time, but in reality, Eren need to go somewhere else
"O-okay Eren " Mikasa say and bid him goodnight before going to the female dormitory
Eren just stays a little bit, watching and hearing if the coast is clear to sneak out from this place and go to the Survey Corpse Hq which located in the Stohness district. He does this to see his crush Hanji Zoe and share with her some info about titan. Also, Eren already places his dummy on his bed to avoid suspicion.
After a while, the coast already clear-Eren fastly jump over the fence that surrounds the place and run to the nearby village to get his black horse and the 3d manoeuvre gear that he stashed in there. After 10 minutes of running, he arrived at the village that he stores his stash in here.
Eren quickly putting the harness, he wears a black cloak and a gas mask that he bought from the industrial district to cover his face. Eren also quickly tied his hair while hooping into his black horse and start making a click sound and whip his horse to make the horse start running at a fast speed, the horse follows his master instruction with ease
After an hour or so, Eren and his horse already arrive at the wall of district Stohness.
"Finally we arrive " Eren says while smiling a little and looking at the wall
Eren tying up his horse so the horse does not go missing.
"Good boy, you wait a moment okay, I will come back to you " The horse just gave a happy grunt to Eren
"Here some snack for being a good boy " Eren says to his horse while giving the horse some snack also Eren lightly strock his horse. His horse gave another happy grunt before resting on the grass
"Here we go" Eren says to himself while covering with his black cloak
Eren shot his wire on the wall, he does this to get top on the wall of the stohness district. On the top, Eren meets with a strong wind that makes him closed his eye a moment before getting treated by a beautiful full moon.
"This night is so peaceful " Eren say to himself while looking at the moon
"Anyways I have a thing to do " Eren says to himself while jumping into the ground and start manoeuvring his gear around stohness district to find the scout regiment HQ
"If I remember correctly it here " Eren on the top of some resident roof thought while looking at a building that guard by some soldier.
Eren quietly jump down into the ground and start carefully sneak into the HQ, he wants to go to Hanji bedroom to talk to her. She always does their experiment in her room, so Eren knew what room that Hanji lives in. It is located on the second floor. Eren zip himself up to the bedroom window, seeing no one in the room - Eren quietly open and sneak into Hanji bedroom. After a moment or so, Eren hear a voice, his crush voice, Hanji Zoe and a man voice that he recognized as Moblit, her assistant. He always envies Moblit that closed to Hanji.
"Moblit, what do you think when is the next expedition?" Hanji ask her assistant Moblit to give his thought
"Mmmm,m-maybe next m-mouth H-Hanji san " Moblit give his thought to Hanji question
After some brief talking, they already arrive at Hanji bedroom while Eren stays in the darkness of Hanji bedroom to avoid being seen by anyone.
"See you later, Moblit" Hanji says to Mobil and bit him goodnight before closing her door
"O-o Okay Hanji san "Moblit says back to Hanji, giving her a quick smile
Hanji stay in her place for a couple minute, looking blankly at the door before giving some spesh
"You can go out now…Stranger " Hanji stated and looking at the darkness of her room, knowing someone in here cause of a faint breath that she hears
"Huh, you find me " Eren says to her while stepping into the light revealing him, a man that has a gas mask and a black clock that cover his head and body.
"It not surprising when you one off the professional member of Scouting Legion " Eren says with a muffled voice cause of the gas mask while looking at Hanji
"Why are you here? " Hanji ask Eren while reading to fight if this stranger sudden attack her
"I just a friend of humanity " Eren answer while taking a pocket knife out of his pocket. Hanji tense up while seeing the weapon but it soon gone when the strange man stabs his hand with the knife
"and I have some information about titan " Eren says to Hanji while showing off his steam hand that regenerating piece by piece, Hanji just godsmack by this discovery
"Can tell me!?" Hanji question enthusiasm like a little girl get her lollipop when seeing this and getting close to Eren
"I will tell you time by time" Eren responds to Hanji while looking at her
"But now you can call me Kruger " Eren address himself up to Hanji with a fake name
"Ok Kruger " Hanji replied to Eren
"I have to go now, see you later Hanji-san" Eren stated while giving Hanji a parting gift, a crystal of titan that he gets while exploring Reiss Chapel
"You can have this, do whatever you want with this gift" Eren said to Hanji and give her a quick stroke of her face. It makes her face red as heck which he loved. Eren leaps out of the window and manoeuvres himself to the wall. He wants to go back as soon as possible to avoid suspension around his comrade
Hanji just sit there, embarrass by his action and looking out the window and talk to herself
"Thanks, you Kruger" Hanji said to herself still embarrass by the man sudden action
