''So your dad forced you to start dating Dani?'' Mercedes asks shocked after Santana told them everything that happened, Santana gulps giving up wiping her tears away as they continue streaming down her cheeks and nods her head.
''Yeah.''
''Why?'' Mercedes exclaims shocked, Brittany turns to Santana curious about the reason too and sighs sadly as she sees tears still streaming down her face knowing reliving everything will cause nightmares tonight.
''Because she is his partners daughter and Dani's dad and he was afraid that I would get pregnant again even though I came out to them and they got pissed because of it.'' Santana murmurs sniffling.
Marley sighs softly after writing everything that was important down and bites her lip. ''I need to talk to my boss because I will need his support on this case, but I will represent you Santana there is no way that you can go back there.''
''Really?'' Santana asks shocked, Marley nods her head placing her notebook down and folds her hands in her lap.
''Yes really but I do need your full cooperation and I need to know everything they ever did to you, pictures of your injuries and bruises are more than welcome too and we can use the recording you made of them because that clearly shows us who was there and who harmed you.''
''I-I-I..'' Marley leans forward locking eyes with the teen and smiles sadly.
''I know this will be hard and that you are scared to talk with them in the same room as you, but nothing will happen to you Santana the room will be filled with officers and your friends can all come so you will feel a bit more at ease.''
Santana nods her head sniffling and turns to Brittany, Brittany smiles nodding her head understanding the silent question and squeezes Santana's hand she held the whole time softly. ''I told you that I will be there San and I think I saw enough to also come in as a witness.''
Marley nods her head in agreement and turns to the blonde. ''Yeah you saw the assault in the park and you were also the first one that saw her injuries after the assault happening at her home, you will be one of the witnesses Brittany.'' She tilts her head and smiles. ''Mercedes told me a bit about you, but what do you do work wise?''
''I am a veteran got honorably discharged and currently I tutor a few high school students in Arts and English.''
''A veteran?'' Marley asks surprised, she smiles as Brittany nods her head and leans back in her seat. ''What is or was your rank?''
''Um specialist.'' Brittany mumbles shrugging, Marley's eyebrows raise in surprise and turns to Mercedes.
''Why didn't you tell me that?''
''Because I didn't know? Why is that so important?'' Mercedes asks confused, Brittany bites her lip knowing Santana is also looking at her and sighs.
''It's the rank before corporal, I had the chance to be promoted to corporal this year but yeah shit happened.''
''Is that good?'' Mercedes asks in confusion, Marley turns to her and smiles.
''It's the fifth rank in the army, Brittany served for two years and seven months if you don't count the basic training so it's no wonder that she was honorably discharged.''
''Okay you lost me.'' Santana murmurs in confusion looking at the three adults, Marley turns to the girl and smiles.
''With Brittany's rank the judge will see that she knows how to handle certain things.'' She turns to Brittany and raises an eyebrow. ''Want to tell them what you had to do as a Specialist?''
Brittany sighs nodding her head and turns to Santana knowing Mercedes listens to. ''A specialists job is to ensure soldiers under their charge meaning, making sure that they don't run off on their own, that they listen to orders and as a part of the medic team I also had to ensure the safety of everyone around our camp and that I had to talk to a few soldiers as soon as I noticed something was off.''
''So you led your own team?'' Mercedes asks shocked, Brittany turns to look at her as she sees Santana slowly understanding what she just told her and nods her head.
''Yeah I was in charge of a small group of soldiers but I was also asked to help the medic team because I learned quickly, I learned to see problems even before they got mentioned and that is why I knew that something was happening to Santana I just didn't want to force her to talk because she didn't know me.'' She shrugs her shoulders as she sees the shock in her best friends eyes and bites her lip. ''I got injured twice or I would already have another rank, the whole camp was sad that I had to leave and that there is no possibility for me to come back but I am still a part of the team and will meet up with them whenever they are back in the states.''
''Damn Britt why didn't you tell us?'' Mercedes asks smiling proudly
''That is really impressive Britt.'' Santana murmurs smiling slightly, she turns to Marley and raises an eyebrow. ''So will that mean that Brittany won't get into trouble because I am staying here and not with my parents like I normally have to?''
''As long as you feel safe and protected I don't see a problem here, Brittany offered you her apartment to make sure you and your daughter are safe so I am sure the judge will see it the same way.'' Marley replies smiling, she stands up grabbing her phone off of the table and looks at the girls. ''Excuse me for a second I need to call my boss.''
''Will the police arrest them?'' Santana asks in a small voice the fear coming back in full force, Brittany grabs her own phone throwing it to Mercedes and turns to Santana.
''Cedes will call Kevin and tell him that Marley will represent you, he will do the rest.''
Santana gulps watching Mercedes walk into Brittany's room to make the call and turns to the blonde sitting beside her sniffling softly. ''I am scared Britt.'' She breaths out softly.
Brittany scoots closer making sure Santana sees the movement knowing she gets scared easily and slowly places her hand on her leg looking her in the eyes. ''I know you are San, but after the trial everything will be getting better.''
Santana sniffles seeing the honesty in Brittany's eyes and slowly leans into her biting back a sob as she feels her protective arms wrap around her. ''I am scared the judge won't believe me.''
''You have a lot of proof sweetie, I think nobody had the same courage you had to record them knowing what would happen. You made sure that their voices are heard and the sounds you hear also indicates what is going on, you also have witnesses San if he doesn't believe it we will ask for another trial and another judge.'' She runs a hand through Santana's hair as she feels tears soaking her shirt and sighs softly. ''I am sure Marley will ask for a judge out of another town because your dad knows the ones working here, I think you can't work on a case when you know the person getting sued.''
''But he knows almost everyone in the towns around Lima too.'' Santana murmurs fearfully burying her face in Brittany's shoulder second thoughts entering her head.
''That is why my boss just told me that he will fly out tomorrow and will request the trial being handled by a judge from another city, he knows how small towns work Santana and he also told me that he will help me represent you because of your dad's knowledge of our field.'' Marley says as she walks back into the living room.
Santana looks up at her still in Brittany's hold and gulps. ''A city far from here?''
Marley sits back down and nods her head smiling reassuringly. ''Yes a city far from here, we will make sure you will get the justice you deserve Santana.''
Brittany feels Santana's body tremble knowing she tries to keep herself strong not showing the pain she is in and reaches for the small table beside her, she grabs an aspirin laying there and holds it out for her. ''Take this San.''
''I am okay Britt.'' Santana murmurs trying to mask the pain, Brittany looks down at her and raises an eyebrow.
''You think I don't feel you tensing every ten seconds because your ribs throb? Please take a painkiller sweetie, you don't have to stay strong around us.'' She murmurs so only Santana hears her, Santana sighs softly taking the pill from her and pops it into her mouth swallowing it with a sip of water out of the bottle Brittany holds out for her.
''You okay?'' Santana asks softly as she sees her stretch her leg and pull it back towards the couch a couple of times, Brittany hums softly and smiles.
''Yeah just need to train the muscle for a bit so it doesn't get stiff.''
Marley watches them in silence noticing that it seem like both have feelings going beyond friendship and decides to ask Mercedes more about it knowing Brittany is her best friend.
''Alright Kevin and a few other cops are on their way to arrest them, he advises that Bella will be here if things don't go as planned.'' Mercedes says as she walks into the living room, she places a hand on Santana's shoulder as she sees her trying to grab her phone and smiles. ''Easy San, I already called Puck and he is on his way back with Bella and the teens.''
''Thank you.'' Santana murmurs softly as Mercedes sits back down on the couch next to Marley, she relaxes back in Brittany's hold and suppresses a yawn.
''Are you okay?'' Mercedes asks looking at the girl laying securely in her best friends hold, Santana nods her head keeping her head on Brittany's shoulder and sighs sadly.
''I think I will be Mercedes.''
''Girl please call me Cedes or C, it looks like we will hang around each other more the next few weeks and a friend of Britt and Puck is a friend of mine.'' Mercedes says smiling, Santana chuckles locking eyes with her and nods her head.
''I will but only if you call me San or S.''
Brittany smiles listening to the interaction between them and looks up at Mercedes. ''Did Kev say something else superstar?''
''Yeah that he is glad that Santana decided to let Marley represent her and that he hopes those bastards get sentenced for life, he will come by during the week after work to check on the both of you.''
Brittany nods her head and smiles. ''Yeah he said that yesterday.''
''I still can't believe the school geek became a cop.'' Mercedes murmurs laughing, Brittany laughs and nods her head in agreement.
''Yeah me neither but Kev changed the second he joined the team and played with Puck and me.'' She turns to Marley and smiles slightly. ''When will your boss arrive?''
''Tomorrow afternoon but he already booked to hotel rooms for us.'' She turns to Mercedes and smiles. ''Are you staying here or flying home?''
Mercedes shakes her head and smiles. '' I will stay here until everything is over, I took a few weeks off.''
Brittany looks down at Santana as she feels her cuddle closer and smiles lovingly as she sees that she fell asleep, she slowly slides back making sure Santana will still lay comfortable and strokes her back.
Marley nods her head and stands up sighing softly. ''Alright well I have to go and look through the notes I took once again.'' She turns to Brittany and smiles. ''Can we meet up at the end of the week to discuss a few things?''
Brittany nods her head and smiles. ''Yeah we will both be here, Dr Anderson excused Santana from school for the week so her ribs will heal so you can just join Mercedes whenever she comes over.''
''Which will be every day B.'' Mercedes says laughing, Brittany shrugs her left shoulder trying to let Santana sleep for a bit and chuckles.
''Don't care.''
Marley nods her head and smiles. ''Alright I will.'' She holds out her hand and locks eyes with Brittany. ''It was nice to meet you Brittany.''
''Likewise Marley and thank you again.''
''Just doing my job Brittany.'' She turns to Mercedes and hugs her. ''Bye Cedes.''
''See you tomorrow for breakfast Marls.'' Mercedes replies hugging her back, she walks her to the door and leans against the doorpost as she walks out smiling slightly. ''I know that you are wondering if the both of them have a relationship, the answer is no but I think we can both see that something is happening between them '' She whispers softly.
Back in the living room Brittany continues running her hand down Santana's back feeling her relax completely and smiles slightly as she hears Bella's voice fill the apartment telling Puck and her aunts to hurry for a Disney movie, she smiles looking at the little girl as she walks into the living room and shoots her a wink. ''Hey little B.''
Bella runs over to her immediately climbing on her lap and smiles brightly. ''B!'' She turns to her mami and tilts her head. ''Mami sleeping?''
Brittany nods her head smiling lovingly as the little girl carefully kisses her mami's cheek and smiles as she cuddles into her test telling Quinn, Emily and Jake that she wants to watch a movie. ''Yeah your mami was a bit tired little B.'' She looks up as her sister walks over and smiles leaning up to kiss her cheek. ''Hey Em's.''
Emily kisses her sisters cheek smiling lovingly as she sees her best friend cuddled into her side fast asleep and sighs sadly as she sees the bruises on her face. ''Hey how is she doing?''
''Tired, hurting, but she decided to fight and she will be alright after sh..'' Brittany cuts herself off smiling sheepishly as Bella moves in her lap to cuddle with her mami and clears her throat. ''After everything happened.''
Puck and Mercedes both turn to each other in surprise as they see Brittany soften as soon as Bella touches her and bite their lips slowly realizing just how much their best friend feels for Santana and the little girl.
Quinn walks over to Brittany leaning down and tightly hugs her making sure not to wake her best friend. ''Thank you.''
Brittany smiles slightly as she pulls out of the hug and looks up at her. ''No need to thank me for anything Q, I am just glad she decided to let us get her and Bella out of there.''
''B!'' Brittany smiles looking down at the little girl in her lap as she softly slap her cheeks and runs her free hand through her hair keeping her other wrapped around Santana.
''What's wrong little B?'' She asks as she sees the shy smile on her face, Bella pouts and points down at her diaper. Brittany smiles kindly and taps her nose snickering as she giggles. ''You need a diaper change?''
''Si.'' Bella murmurs shyly, Brittany smiles lovingly and bites her lip.
''Want Tia Q to change it?''
Bella shakes her head and taps her cheek. ''B!''
''You want me to do it?'' Brittany asks slowly gulping softly, she smiles as Bella nods her head cuddling into her and looks up at Q. ''Q, can you?'' She asks softly mentioning her head to Santana, Quinn nods her head sitting down on the other side of Santana and slowly pulls her in her arms.
Brittany stands up adjusting her hold on Bella and tickles her softly smiling as she giggles loudly not noticing Santana slowly waking up. ''Well let's see if I can still do it little B.'' Emily watches her sister laughing softly and smirks.
''Good luck sis.''
Brittany flips her off ignoring her best friends snickering in amusement and walks into her bedroom placing Bella on the bed after grabbing a diaper and wipes, she slowly helps her taking off her shoes tickling her feet smiling as she giggles loudly trying to squirm away from her and gently places her hand on her belly telling her to stay still after sliding the dress she wears up.
''B?'' Bella asks sweetly as Brittany changes her diaper, Brittany hums glancing up at the little girl as she slides the clean diaper under her and smiles lovingly.
''Yes little B?'' She asks not noticing their friends all standing in the door opening behind Santana after she had woken up, Bella reaches down grabbing her thumbs in her little hand and smiles brightly.
''Mami, no hurt anmore?''
Brittany looks down at the little girl smiling sadly as she realizes that she noticed more than she originally thought and squeezes her little hands softly. ''Your mami won't be getting hurt anymore little B, nothing will happen to the both of you.''
''You help.'' Bella says smiling brightly, Brittany smiles tapping her nose as she adjusts the dress she wears and helps her sit up.
''We will all help princess, everyone who is here right now.''
Bella shakes her head frowning and raises her arms, she cups Brittany's cheeks in her little hands as soon as she picked her up and smiles again. ''No you, than yu.''
Santana sniffles softly knowing her daughter is thanking Brittany for getting them out of the house and slowly walks over to them, she runs her hand over the small of Brittany's back before kissing her daughters head and looks up at her. ''She is thanking you for giving us the chance to get out of there.''
Brittany slowly nods her head smiling lovingly and runs her hand through Bella's dark locks. ''No need to thank me little B.''
Bella smiles brightly turning in Brittany's arms and holds her arms out for her mami. ''Mami!''
Santana smiles lovingly kissing her head again and rubs her back as she wraps her little arms around her shoulders. ''Ola mija did you enjoy the afternoon with your Tia's, Jake and Puck?''
''Si!'' Bella smiles brightly pulling her mami closer sloppily kissing her cheek, Santana smiles sadly running her hand through her daughters hair and sighs softly.
''I can't carry you for a few days mija, but we can cuddle on the couch during the movie okay?''
Bella nods her head smiling brightly and scrambles away from them as soon as Brittany puts her down. ''Movie!''
Brittany laughs turning to the teens as she sees Bella excitedly skip into the living room and nods her head. ''Go ahead guys, Em I think you know how to turn the system on.''
''What about you?'' Emily asks confused looking at her sister as Quinn gets pulled to the couch by Bella.
Brittany smiles slightly and glances at her best friends. ''Puck, Cedes and I need to talk, we will join the five of you later.''
Santana turns to Brittany worrying her bottom lip between her teeth as her friends accept the answer walking into the living room and gulps. ''About what will happen next?'' She asks softly, Brittany looks down at her and slowly nods her head.
''Yeah Cedes will be here for a few weeks so we will probably clear out the gaming room tonight so she can stay here if she likes, you and Bella can take my room and I will either take the couch or share the bed with Cedes.''
Santana shakes her head and bites her lip. ''I don't want to kick you out of your own bedroom Britt.'' Brittany smiles reassuringly knowing her best friends left to give them some privacy and slowly pulls her in a hug kissing the top of her head.
''You didn't kick me out San, I offered you my room and I am just glad that you can sleep and relax for a bit every day.'' She slowly pulls out of the hug looking down at her and smiles lovingly. ''Go watch a movie with your daughter San, we will join a bit later.''
Santana slowly nods her head still feeling bad and slowly pulls out of the hug, she turns on her heels taking a few steps and stops pursing her lips. She closes her eyes taking a deep breath and turns back to Brittany walking back to her, she leans up on her tiptoes and softly kisses her cheek feeling her tense at the sudden action. ''Thank you.'' She murmurs softly.
She turns back around walking out of the room not noticing Brittany slowly reaching up to touch the skin she just kissed and sits down next to Quinn smiling as her daughter immediately crawls in her lap still looking at Frozen playing on screen, she turns to look at her friends shooting them a reassuring smile as she sees them looking at her in concern and bites her lip. ''I will be okay guys.''
She smiles as they nod their heads smiling happily and cuddles into Quinn's side as she wraps an arm around her shoulders kissing the top of her daughters head as she cuddles into her chest, she reaches out squeezing Jake's hand before grabbing Emily's and turns her head to look at the TV smiling lovingly as her daughter giggles as soon as she sees Olaf on screen and reclines back trying to relax and to not think about what's coming and what the three adults are talking about.
