Searing heat surrounds, the setting sun poking through the thick clouds above, and death hung in the air. Zaila looked down to the black sand beach, to the river flowing a magnificent orange. Pronounced drag marks in the sand began in a pile of ash, had someone been set ablaze by the magma? A shuttle flew overhead, throwing the red headed girl off-balance and sliding for the red river.
With a panicked yell Zaila woke from her nightmare, causing the blue togruta on watch to jump with a frightened yelp. Alta quickly dropped the blaster in her hands and scrambled over to the panicked human. "Mother of Varanus Zaila, what happened there? One moment you were knocked right out and the next you're screaming bloody murder." said the concerned non-human, resting a hand on her friend's shoulder. Zaila promptly stood up, still breathing quite heavily.
'N-nothing, I just need some air." she mumbled while walking towards the mouth of the cave. When Zaila emerged to the air of the outside world she was greeted by the stars and moons, only 2 were out this night. Kimmik seemed to be absent below the horizon, a shame since it was her favorite moon. Zaila found a good rock to sit on a few meters from the mouth of the cave and pulled up some water to splash onto her face using her gift, the same one that came from being born under the "sole Kimmik" as her parents would say.
The air out here seemed drier than that within the cave, not as stale and as stuffy. Looking down at her reflection in the swamp water, loose strands of hair pulling away from the neat waves she attempted to keep. Once she made eye contact with herself the thinking began. Would things be different if she hadn't dropped the lightsaber? Would the clones still be her friends? Was there anything she could've done to prevent any of this? Lost in these thoughts Zaila failed to notice an ethereal blue figure fade into existence in front of her.
When she did finally look up moments later her heart nearly stopped as she launched herself backwards, tripping backwards over a tree-root. However, before Zaila hit the ground the woman in front of her extended an arm outward and Zaila froze mid-fall. The sudden halting of her momentum allowed Zaila to properly put her arms out behind her so that she was able to get back on her feet when the mystery woman released her. As Zaila brushed herself off she looked up at this stranger, her entire body was a translucent blue with small hints of color in her hair and clothing. The faintly brown ponytail in combination with scarring around the eyes seemed familiar to the young girl, but she couldn't quite place where she had seen this face before.
"Sorry for startling you," She spoke with a medium Imperial accent, not too dissimilar to some of the Republic officers from the more sophisticated systems. "I have a lot of explaining to do."
