Chapter 16 (Huey Special)
This is a special chapter that was inspired by a comic from TC-96 on Deviant Art called "Huey finds Mama". I got his permission to write this chapter.
We got a good bit away from the city before we started preparing camp. We were in the moment in a clearing and Calem had already build his tent and I prepared the portable cooking station. While I was preparing the meals for not only Calem but also for the other members of the team, I heard them running around and mock-fighting each other while Calem gave commands for attacks or tactics. Thumper was also finally able to partake in battle again and was eager to get stronger.
I whistle as I cut some carrots and prepared put them in the stew I was making, together with some sandwiches.
After they finished their training for today and washed their hands, I served everyone his food. We Pokemon would get our normal Pokefood, but I had a few ingredients left from the stew, to work into it as well, giving it a bit more flavor.
Kitsune looked at her meal and her eyes where shining and she was a bit drooling as well. "Wow! Argon! That looks amazing! *Sniff, sniff* and also smells great!"
Thumper started to shove his food in his mouth immediately with a happy moan, with Calem joining him.
I smiled as I watched them all start eating, and felt a little pride that they liked my food so much.
As I was starting to eat my own meal, a loud *POP* sound, combined with a short, but bright light appeared in the clearing. As we looked at the source, I was pretty surprised to find a shiny MewTwo sitting in the middle of our camp, looking around confused. What I also noticed, which surprised me probably more as the shiny part, was the fact, this MewTwo looked pretty young. Like a little child.
I remembered a MewTwo like that from a fan comic series on DeviantArt. I think his name was...
"Huey?" I said aloud in surprise and the little MewTwo reacting to the name and looked over to us, even more confused.
Kitsune was looking at the little MewTwo with sparkling in her eyes and a little squee at his sheer cuteness, Calem was holding up his Pokedex, trying to Scan the new Pokemon, and Thumper... took a short look at the child and then continues to eat.
"No Data Found." came the electronic voice from Calems Pokedex while he fiddled a bit with it, probably looking manually for something that resembles the new Pokemon. Kitsune stood up from her chair and walked over to Huey. Huey looked with big eyes at the approaching Braixen with curiosity.
Kitsune knelt down in front of Huey and offered a friendly smile. "Hello there. Who might you be, little one?"
Huey tilted his head to the side, pondering probably if he should answer or not, but then he said "Huey!" with a big smile.
"Hello, Huey. I'm Kitsune." said Kitsune with a wider smile and turned to us. "And this are my friends and teammates. Argon, Thumper and Calem."
Huey looked us over, and we all offered a friendly smile. Calem put the Pokedex away and waved: "Hey there, little guy. Wanna join us for a meal?"
I smiled at that, happy to see that Calem is not going right for a Pokeball to catch Huey. I would probably trying to stop him... I really can go without an angry NewTwo going after us.
Kitsune softly lifts Huey up in her arms and cuddles him, which he happily returns to the fluffy fire fox. "D'aww! You are so cute!" said Kitsune and walked back to our table and sits down with Huey sitting on her lap. Calem took his Pokedex out and took a picture of the scene. Huey was looking around in wonder at the food and reached for a spoon for the stew. Kitsune helped him a little to feed himself and not to burn his mouth.
As we ate our food, I decided to start a conversation with Huey. "So, Huey. What are you doing out here?"
Huey swallowed his mouthful of food and said proudly: "Huey hiding!"
Kitsune was a bit worried by this answer and asked: "What are you hiding from, sweetie?"
Huey smiled up at Kitsune and said happily: "Huey hiding from mama!"
"Oh! So you are playing right now?" I asked as I was refilling our bowls. That kid could surely eat...
"Yes. Playing!" he said and dig into his second bowl.
I don't know when or how, but he and Thumper got into an eating contest at some point. I think I didn't help the situation as I declared the loser had to help with the dishes... Kitsune scolded us, as we stood in front of her while looking to the ground.
"Sorry, Kitsune..." we said together. "*Sigh* Boys." said Kitsune and pointed to the dishes and the now dirty table. "Alright. Now you all have to clean up the mess you made."
"Yes, ma'am..." we, again, said in unison and get to work on the dishes. I was washing them and handing the cleaned ones to Thumper who showed Huey how to dry them.
It was at moment, that I heard a familiar voice in my head: "Argon? Are you there? Can you hear me? ...give me a sign..."
I smirked at the last question, it being a "Phasmophobia" reference, as I washed another dish. I waited a few second before I breathed the answer in my mind, giving it a ghostly voice: "Yes..."
"KYAAAH! Don't do that! You scared me!" I heard Mew's irritated voice. It took a lot of self control to not burst out laughing while I was washing dishes. Huey looked at me a bit confused, why I did such a funny face.
"Sorry, Mew. But you kinda challenged that reaction with that Phasmo quote." I said and could hear Mew grumble something before she spoke more clearly again: "Alright, that's not important. I'm just happy to hear from you again. I tried to contact you for a few days, but you kinda blocked me out. Which, while impressive, was also worrying."
"Yeah, sorry for that. I think, after my evolution event..." I tried to explain, but Mew interrupted me.
"Oh? You evolved? Congratulation! It's a big step for a Pokemon to reach evolution. It's a sign for you becoming stronger." explained Mew.
"Well, I didn't actually evolve." I said.
"What? What do you mean?" asked Mew confused.
"*Sigh* As I was about to evolve, I suddenly was flooded with the memories of my previous life. Memories of my childhood, my family, friends, my school days, birthdays, Christmas etc... everything I lost as I fell into this world..." as I explained the events after my evolution, I got a bit depressed again and I suddenly felt a hug from the side. As I looked, I saw Huey looking up at me with a smile as he hugged me. He probably felt my growing depression and tried to cheer me up. Which worked as I couldn't help but return the smile.
"Wow! Who is that? I suddenly feel a strong psychic presence near you. Is that this cute braixen friend of yours?" Mew tried to tease, but I kept my cool and answered: "Nah. That's just your grandson. Say hi to your granny Huey."
"Hi Grandmew!" said Huey as he joined the psychic link between Mew and me.
There was a short pause, before we heard Mew again. This time, with a screeching voice:
"... WHAT!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN, MY GRANDSON!?"
Huey and I winced at the loud voice in our heads. I told Huey to go and help Kitsune, while I talk to his Grandmew.
"Bye, Grandmew! See you later!" Said Huey and was off to see what Kitsune was doing.
"Alright. Explain.!" Said Mew a bit forcefully.
"Well... you know how I'm from another dimension, where Pokemon don't exist? He is also from another Dimension, where both MewTwo's come to life with Ash and his Mom. One of them, obviously the female, becomes pregnant because of some kind of flower and has a baby. Huey." I explain the best I can.
"... What the actual..." started Mew, but I interrupted her. "Language."
"That's not really the time for jokes, Argon! How did Huey got here?! Was there a Rip between the Dimensions?!" Asked Mew now with a hint of panic.
"From what I understood from him, and from what I know of the webcomic from my dimension, he is playing hide and seek with his mom... without telling his mom about it." I explained as I was putting our tableware back. I saw Huey and Kitsune running around the camp... or more like, Kitsune was running around and Huey was trying to catch her. This sight brought a smile to my face.
"So that means, he can return on his own? *Breathing out* Good... I feared he was stuck here like you. UPS! SORRY! I didn't mean to bring that up again!" Apologized Mew quickly. I actually got sad again.
"It's okay, Mew. It still hurts to think about it, but it's getting a little better."
Suddenly, I was tackled from the side as Huey jumped into me as I was distracted and started tickling me.
"WAHAHAHAHA! STOO-H-OOP!" I was lying on my back and couldn't do anything to get Huey off from me. Kitsune, Thumper and Calem stood to the side and laughed. Calem was holding his Pokedex and probably filmed the whole thing.
"No more Grumpy Face!" yelled Huey and continued his Tickle Attack. It is VERY Effective.
"HAHAHA! OKAY! OKAA-HA-AAY! No more Grumpy Face!" I said between laughers.
Huey got up from me with a triumphant smile and I also got up, trying to get my breathing back under control. "Ha... ha... that was a very effective attack, Huey. I'm sure it could even help your uncle Grumpy Face."
"YAY!" celebrated Huey and floated in a circle around us, making us all smile and laugh happily. He then suddenly stopped and looked up in the sky.
"Huey Hiding!" he said.
"What is he doing?" asked Kitsune. I thought about it and remembered in the comic, his Mama was calling for him.
"I think his Mama is calling for him." I said to the others.
Huey was now floating over to us and gave everyone of us a hug. Then he said: "Thanks for the food and playtime! Bye!"
And with that, he just vanished in little explosion of light.
"Seems like, Huey got back to his Mama" said Mew in my mind, probably feeling Huey leaving. I just nodded and looked to the others. They were a bit Sad that Huey was gone, but understood he had to go back to his Mama. And we had to prepare to continue our Journey.
