Chapter 3

Midnight.

He sat in a meditative state on his bed, Suiryu was determined to find it.

Going over in his mind the past memories of Sukuna, he began to filter through what he needed and what was desired. He learned of the technique that was discarded for many and various reasons. The main reason, it was no benefit to himself, but to others. So that was why this method was never used, second, the memory of the past with Yuuji.

"It has to be here… ah… I found it." He began to think it over, but cringed to what occurred. Yet at the same time, he saw beyond the memory and could understand something important. "This one… could work…" he thought.

#

He snuck out of the dorm.

He knew better than to leave the school grounds this late, but he also knew he could gather what he needed from the rooftop. Suiryu went to the highest point of the school, one of the study halls of all things, and he took a seat at the top. He went over the memory in his mind, and cringed to it all. "Okay, I know where it is, now… to find it again…"

He sat in silence, his right hand extended out as his mind began to drift. He felt as if he was obtaining an out of body experience, when in reality, he was following the energy he wanted to gather.

It was still there.

"There you are…" he said with a greedy grin. "You're coming with me before something worst happens to you…" He sent out his own power, he could feel it gathering around the source he needed. The remnants he obtained had lingered still, but it was getting weaker, at the same time, it as also starting to gather curse energy to become a curse itself. But once he obtained every fragment, Suiryu opened his eyes and found it gathered into his hand, a ball of energy. "Ah, not bad for my first time huh?" he said to it.

But he heard something faint come from the orb.

"I'm sorry… I'm so sorry…" it whispered.

"Ah, save your sorry for another time…" He paused and admired his work. "To think I got all of it, again, I am impressed with myself. Now… what the hell do I do with it?"

'To me,'

"Huh?" Suiryu peered about but saw nothing, no one was near him either.

'To me,' came a little louder.

He felt his right ear grow warm, as did the pendent around his neck. "Ryujin?" he muttered in confusion, but shrugged his shoulders to it all. "Guess the dragon wants it, but how to get it to him?" But then a smirk came over Suiryu. "Well, there is one direct path to him…"

#

"What is it?"

"Just eat it already,"

"But what is it?"

"Yuuji, it's nothing serious, just eat it. I have to send it to Ryujin and you are the most direct path to him!"

He woke him up in the dead of night. Suiryu literally kept poking Yuuji until he woke up. When he finally did, he presented him with the little ball he had made and insisted on him consuming it.

Of course, Yuuji was skeptical about the whole thing. Until Suiryu offered the best 'puppy dog eyes' he could muster. Yuuji sighed aloud, took the ball and swallowed it before glaring at Suiryu. "If that was anything weird, I will make you pay for it!" he warned.

Suiryu merely smiled. "Thank you brother," and went back to his room for sleep.

In his dreams…

Suiryu paused as he found himself before Ryujin. "Huh? Wait, how…"

"I brought you here, sleeping is like a meditation," Ryujin explained as he revealed the little ball of energy he obtained from Yuuji. However in this world, it was more like a ball of light. "I see you found one, such a tormented soul…"

"Yeah, but I know it will be of help to us."

Floating around Ryujin were three other orbs of light, but one appeared to be flickering in a weakened state. "I have obtained these ones, yet one is troubled. I don't think it will have the strength for your notion. However, I feel if we do not do something, the other two will refuse to assist… huh… the one you made is lacking… perhaps…" Ryujin took the one he got from Yuuji into his hands, and placed it next to the weak one. The two pulsed, almost as if they were speaking to each other until the weaker one began to infuse into the other.

The other two orbs began to float around like crazy to the whole thing, yet when the weak one vanished into the other, they settled and came to hover around the newly formed orb of light. "How did you…" Suiryu began to ask.

"I didn't. The weaker one offered itself to this one here. Remarkable to say the least, but I wonder how it will effect this little one."

Ryujin then paused as he looked to Suiryu curiously. "There are more of them, aren't there?" he asked.

He nodded to him. "I do believe you are aware of the death paintings?" he asked.

"Very much so… hmm, this is your plan isn't it?"

Suiryu nodded. "I have witnessed three of them in battle through Yuuji, but the fact remains is that they still had human elements to them, which may allow us to cooperate with them. Their bonds are strong to each other, and I hope if we are able to do this, that bond will be shared with whoever returns them to life…"

Ryujin began to understand and nodded in agreement. "To get full cooperation, we need to make sure that they are all united… But have you asked Yuuji yet?"

He shook his head no. "I don't know how to approach him on the subject matter, after all, he will have to consume them."

Suiryu himself even shuttered at the thought. He knows how much Yuuji hated devouring the fingers of Sukuna, what he would be asking him to do would be worst than that.

Ryujin however appeared to be in thought. "Well… Yuuji doesn't have to be the one to do it," he said offhandedly. "Speak with him and see what happens, if it isn't the results needed then perhaps another plan can be made."

Suiryu nodded in agreement. He paused though. "I was wondering, how you are fairing here… is everything well with you?"

A smile came upon the dragon. "This child is remarkable in more ways than one. I have sensed his cultivation, and it has become far more refined in the past few months. Kitsune is teaching him well, he is also very careful with the energies within him. That alone is difficult to manage in a short time. I, myself am doing well, he takes in more than enough to sustain me. My strength still isn't where I desire it to be, yet at the moment, I am not in a rush to obtain it."

"If we need you…" he asked.

Ryujin however shook his head. "I am not going to participate,"

This took him aback. "Wait, you won't help us in the war to come?" Suiryu demanded. "Why!"

"The same reason why you train those close to Yuuji," he said simply. "I can resolve the issue, and yet if I do, none who are willing to fight will gain the knowledge or experience needed to grow and learn. As well, if I expel my power too much too often, I may as well just parish here and now. It's a strain to do so, if it happens consistently, I will not be able to withstand it."

He had no idea that was the case, but nodded in understanding.

"Suiryu… you need to start increasing your training Itadori."

He paused to the order. "I know, but at the moment something is off with him, and I hope he can figure it out for himself before I have to interfere."

Ryujin nodded. "You may wish to step in sooner than later. At the moment, the fledgling is aware of his power, but does not have the concept as to how to use it properly. He is sticking with what he knows at the moment, but it won't be enough for him. He has all of Sukuna's abilities, but is merely scratching the surface of it all. You on the other hand…"

"I know it all, but not the power to wield it," he muttered. His head nodded as his arms crossed. He appeared to be thinking it over. "I am not as strong as him in my current state to say the least. I have the force of Sukuna when he had consumed 15 of his fingers. I know Yuuji has his power, but that doesn't include his own strength either."

"For a reason…" Ryujin said offhandedly.

Suiryu smirked and nodded. "Quite frankly, I much rather thank you for that. I don't need to be all powerful, especially when my brother is but has no idea about how to use it." He smirked to it all. "I will see what I can do with him, but perhaps I need to convince him of one thing at a time. At the moment, what's important is gaining allies…"

"I agree, tread carefully on this Suiryu, for it may come across as a more… evil intention than you realize."

He woke that moment.

It was daylight, and the weekend. Suiryu stretched himself out as he checked his phone, he already had 20 text messages for modeling work. "I ought to quit this shit while I'm ahead…" he muttered.
