Chapter 4
Meanwhile…
Suiryu wasn't the only one who was gathering that night. With recent events, Chukan had decided to have a few extra surprises for the jujutsu sorcerers who will be coming for him.
He learned through Paum of pass exterminations, where powerful curses fought and some were taken out, but at the same time when that occurs, some of the essence remains to be rebuilt once more. He ventured to a school of all places; there he sensed the residual energy. A curse could still be living currently, but at the same time, if they are imprisoned or trapped, their essence will start to gather and rebuild to gain their freedom once more.
This was one of those instances.
Chukan paused as he saw it on the ground, wisps moving about with great ease yet in a slight hurry as it appeared to find more of itself to regrow.
"Ah, you have been here before haven't you?" he saw it along the ground, black mist that moved about, gathering up little pieces of itself. At the same time though considering how long the battle took place, this curse was amassing rather quickly.
He leaded down and smiled. "How would you like it if I sped things up a little bit huh?" he asked curiously. Peering about he smiled down at the fallen curse. "I see why you remained here. Your power… is quite unique, altering the soul of people and transfiguring their appearance to whatever you desire… teenagers fear change, changes to their own bodies and what becomes of them… I do admit that was a smart move on your part, but that will take you a hundred years at least to regain your former glory. As well I am uncertain if your original state still exists… despite that… I can assist you in the matter…"
The mist swirled with excitement. "Ah, just remember though, you need to listen to me. I require your power in a war against some sorcerers. I do believe you are familiar with one, the demon vessel…"
The mist paused, but he felt its animosity grow within it. "So you do, now them… let's make a binding vow. I will return you to your former state, in return, fight in my war. When it's over, you are feed to do whatever the hell you want. Is that a deal?" his hand extended, the mist conformed into a hand as best it could, but once the vow went into place. It began to grow. A massing began to surge and build, the curse energy returned as it began to take physical form.
In a burst of power, it became flesh. The first thing it did was lick its lips with anticipation. "Did I hear right? Sukuna's vessel is still alive?"
"Indeed, it is. However, much has happened since. I will fill you in with the other I manage to bring back as well."
"Hmm, you are starting to give off an aura nearly worthy of the king of curses himself…"
Chukan paused as he turned to the curse. "Do I now?"
"It's nearly there, but not quite, still, an accomplishment to say the least. Question is, why bring the likes of me back? What could I possibly help you with in this battle?" he asked curiously.
He snickered to the question. "With your power, you can wreak havoc with the demon vessel's mind, I want to have you attack those near and dear to him in this war, I want them transfigured to the point that he goes mad with rage. If there is one thing I have understood about this vessel is this, people who are near to him…"
"Make him suffer the most… rest assured, I am more than aware of this… In fact, I look forward to doing it all again to him. The pain etched on his face was… exquisite!"
"Mahito. Can I count on you?"
His grin only grew. "Of course you can. Now, whom else did you bring back?" he asked curiously.
Chukan smiled as he placed his hand on his shoulder. "Come with me." The two vanished before anyone saw them…
#
"AWW! JOJO!"
The volcano like curse paused but sneered at the sight. "Mahito… as rowdy as ever I see… and just as immature." Jojo was back to his former glory, however the circumstances has his back up. "I was told that you would answer any and all question I have, so now, I have them." He said aloud.
The sorcerer nodded. He smiled gracefully as he encouraged the two to ask away. Before Jojo could utter a word, Mahito jumped in. "So what happened to Sukuna?" right off the bat.
Chukan sighed. "I had been hunting down a family known as the Tooru clan, for they had in possession a creature of divine power that could have destroyed my master in his prime of power. Fortunately, they were defeated in that era and most recently… erased from this time. The last of them died during the final consumption of Sukuna's power…"
"At least he got one kill in right?" laughed Mahito.
"Do you want to know what occurred or not!" Jojo scolded. He turned and gave the nod for the explanation to continue.
"What happened was the last of the Tooru clan managed to find the creature her family had guarded and kept safe, she broke the seal my master had placed on the dragon and avoided death until she released it… into the demon vessel."
The two paused. "A dragon… but there are curse dragons too. I am more than aware of them, what is so different about this one?" Jojo asked.
Chukan shook his head. "Not even I know the full details to say the least, but I know this. The dragon took out Sukuna not once, but twice, for a trial of body and soul was called upon. Had he won it, the body of Yuuji Itadori would revert to my master. However, the boy had proven to be rather… difficult. I didn't see the full battle, but the fact remains that a mere boy was able to defeat him. I witnessed the child's heart get blown out of his chest, then… the dragon took over."
"This sounds boring now!" Mahito said with a sigh. "So what if this kid defeated Sukuna, it's not like he's all powerful now!"
Jojo however noticed the silence coming from Chukan. "What aren't you telling us?" he asked.
"The boy has become powerful, according to a close confidant of mine, he speaks of the child who now possesses the abilities of the King of curses. However, he is merely scratching the surface of it, there is no concept as to how to control it. As well, the dragon that killed my master possesses the boy."
The two paused. "So? If it's anything like Sukuna, it's repressed isn't it?" Mahito stated.
"It's more than that, isn't it?" Jojo muttered. "You are saying this beast has changed the vessel once more…"
He nodded. "The boy can use divine power, but cannot combine it together with his curse energy, if he does… he will burst and die, taking everyone around with him."
The greedy grin reappeared on Mahito's face. "Ooo, we can blow him up! It's perfect!"
"Is it?" Jojo muttered. There was still something not sitting right with him on this. "How do we know it is true?"
"Sense for yourself, tell me what you feel if you focus on this demon vessel." Chukan said in a challenging tone. "The moment you realize the truth, the more you understand that the three of us are not going to be enough. I require more like you, but am now lacking the means of getting them to my side. I have brought back others, but they refused to join me. You two, have great influence, for you are some of the most powerful curses I have ever come across."
Jojo paused, as he considered his options. He was aware of Sukuna's vessel, he has battled the king of curses himself, and that wasn't even him at full power. If this boy has even up with his strength… he sighed aloud. "Mahito, we should see what we can do…"
"Wait, you believe this story?" he demanded.
"I died once already against Sukuna, he wasn't even at full power and I never landed a single strike on him. Even if the boy is ill experienced, he will still be troublesome if we do not have enough to fight against him."
Mahito sighed. "Oh man, I really wanted to just torment him. Why do we have to play it safe? I mean I can just go in there and transfigure his friends!"
"It won't be that easy either. There is also tales of a new teacher there, and he has made the students rather formidable. It's best right now that we focus on our numbers and then a battle plan. The more we have, the better our odds are to defeat the jujutsu sorcerers."
Something still bothered him. Jojo looked to Chukan and said. "How could a boy like him become so powerful in a short period of time?" he asked.
Silence befell Chukan. He shook his head. "Not even I know, but the fact remains that he is strong, and we need to take him out. Even if we forget all the others on the battle field, our goal will be to take the demon vessel, however I wish to obtain his body"
"That you are on your own for," Jojo decreed. "I agreed to fight in your war, but if you want the vessel, you can obtain it yourself."
"Come on Jojo! We're alive again, let's go have some fun!" Mahito decreed. "I want to make sure I still got it…"
Chukan sighed aloud. "Do whatever you wish now, I'll call for you before we go to war."
The two curses nodded as Chukan vanished.
Jojo paused as he looked about, they were in an abandoned warehouse for the time being. Yet he began to consider his options for a better place to stay. "Mahito, I don't trust him the least bit…"
Mahito was rocking back and forth playfully where he sat. "Yeah, I don't care though since we're back and we can do what we want! I want to transfigure people, build up my collection once more… I miss my little dolls…" he said with a sigh.
"Then go and do what you wish, I am just saying we shouldn't trust that sorcerer. He's holding out on us, there is something about the demon vessel he has yet to reveal. For that matter, how did a mere boy defeat Sukuna? It's impossible!" he decreed.
But as he turned, he found Mahito was already gone.
