Chapter 27

He was sent on ahead, just as predicted.

Satoru was in the car as it drove him deeper and deeper into the remote regions of Japan, he was getting rather impatient though as he kept asking. "Are we there yet?"

Much to the annoyance of the elder in the car with him.

"You asked that five minutes ago!"

"Yeah, you think we would be farther than this in five minutes. Hell, I could probably run there faster than the car!" he snickered.

"You are not going on ahead without me!"

"Fine, fine, be that way." He sighed aloud as he tried to relax. "So, what's your take on that Suiryu kid?"

The elder sneered. "You still call that thing by a name? It's nothing more than a knock off of Sukuna. And yet, we have kept it alive with the demon vessel…" he said with great disgust.

"Well, be that as it may, he has trained the students quite well. Their improvement is worth noticing…"

He got no answer, so Satoru pushed on. "I do got to know, how were you even going to kill the demon vessel? Let alone stop Sukuna after he got his original power back. Let's face it, if it weren't for Yua, I think we would all have died by now."

He sneered at the name. "That so called woman, endangered us all! She lied about her curse ability, she went against the elder's orders and disobeyed common logic!"

"Yeah, and yet she got better results than you."

The elder was choking on his own rage now! "You isolate brat!" he growled lowly.

However Satoru didn't appear to care the least bit. After all, the elder's opinions don't matter to him. "So… are we there yet?" he asked again with a coy grin.

"SILENCE!"

It would be another two hours before they arrived. The roads ended and the rest of the journey would be done on foot. Satoru took in the area and paused oddly. "Huh…" he said offhandedly.

"What is it?"

"Thought I felt something weird, but I guess I am mistaken on the matter. So, what are we looking for? What's going on?" he asked.

"We have received reports of unusual activity, the people here have been dealing with massive kidnappings, half of their population is gone now, there have also been unexplained murders."

They walked out of the village and into a massive open field, instantly. He felt something was off. One, there was no sign of human life. All the people were gone despite their homes appearing to have been well lived in. Second, what was before them. "There's a lot of barriers here…" he said offhandedly. "But why?"

"What barriers?"

"Are you really that weak old man?" Satoru demanded. "You can't feel the many layers that are before us… something is being hidden in here…"

"You're right…"

He turned to face the elder, only to have a strange powder thrown into his face. "AH… AH… AAAAHHHH!" Satoru screamed as he whipped off his blindfold, he froze as he was unable to see or sense anything! "I'm… I'm blind!"

"Good… now you won't see what's coming…" He felt his shoulders grabbed, and his body moved. How far, he didn't know but when he hit the ground, he felt it. The power of two demonic sorcerers and then, a strong curse presence.

"I never thought you would be able to pull this off Paum."

"Please, a child like him is so easily fooled. Now then, are we about ready to begin?"

"Indeed, I'll take down the barrier of the first wave, enough of those finger bearers will suffice in clearing the land and the humans within it."

The snap of the fingers was heard, Satoru felt the barrier drop, they the moment it did, a powerful blast was felt!

"What the hell!"

"Who on earth…"

The screams followed of the finger bearer curses, one wave was eliminated in mere seconds.

Satoru snickered aloud. "I maybe blind right now… but I know that you just got your ass handed to you. That there… is my Itadori…"

"Shut up! YOU, start draining him!"

He was suddenly kicked in the ribs, yet at he felt the blow, Satoru felt his cursed energy get taken with it!

They knew this would happen.

With the guidance from Suiryu, they pinpointed the location where the legion of finger bearers would be unleashed, from there, it became a waiting game as to when the barrier will drop. Yuuji could have broken it himself, but at the same time, there is a plan in place.

It must be followed through.

They stood in anticipation, his classmates waiting, chomping at the bit to face down serious odds.

The barrier dropped, just as predicted.

"Itadori!" called Principal Yaga.

He smiled and playfully jogged up to the front line, he walked a little farther ahead until his four arms were poised. His mind focused, just as he has seen his sensei do once before. He felt the same course of energy flowing through him, until he felt the connection. "Reverse purple…" he said, at the snap of his fingers, four massive waves of curse energy left his hands. The finger bearers vanished from sight and the smoke cleared.

No one moved from where they stood, Suiryu on the other hand was clapping. "Nice bro, nice… you know… I get the last wave right?"

"Yes, we already agreed upon that, I just wanted to set the pace," Yuuji said and laughed aloud.

"I don't know what's more freaky, the fact that Yuuji is enjoying this or the fact that these two are looking forward to a massive, large scale war…" muttered Nobara.

"Well, that's the first wave down, second wave… it's on you guys!" Yuuji announced.

"Let's see how much we improved…" Fushiguro said. He called his summons. "Alpha wolf, summon pack!" Megumi called. The alpha appeared, it gave a howl as more divine wolves began to join its side. He stood along side a pack of forty strong!

"That's cheating you know. I still think I can take down more of those bastards than you," Nobara muttered. Her hands were full with nails already infused with curse energy.

"You're welcome to try, let's go!"

The second barrier went down, sending out more of the curses but Yuuji noticed they were stronger than the first wave. "Be careful, these ones have at least two fingers worth of power!" he called.

"Sure, make this easy for us!" snickered Nobara.

"All sorcerers! GO!" Yaga called.

It was a mad dash forward, the second wave was coming faster than anticipated, yet with the training everyone has done, they stood their ground and held their own!

"You're not going to join them?" Suiryu asked aloud.

"Not yet, besides, I know this can be a distraction too, we have to keep the medical sorcerers safe." He explained.

"Well, I'm here, you do know that…"

Yuuji smirked. "I know, but safe than sorry."

What Yuuji was doing was trying to assets the situation before him, as his friends battled on, he watched how they easily took down these monsters without much of a hassle. Fushiguro worked well with the wolves, they were taking down large clusters of the finger bearers without breaking much of a sweat. Nobara was perfecting her nail storm technique, she throws a fist full of nails into the air and then take out a large portion of finger bearers, if the nail hit, that creature is dead, if not, they are embedded and at the snap of her fingers, curse energy takes them out from there.

They were all doing so well, by the time they finished though, many were already running out of energy. But that was a legion of at least 100,000 strong! "We are going to have to call them back, I got to recharge them," Yuuji announced.

"FALL BACK!" came the command from Inumaki.

They began to retreat, gathering the wounded and trying to return back to Yuuji, but the third and forth waves were being unleashed. This had him worried. There were sorcerers and true special grade curses coming for them…
