Chapter 28

It was time to see if it was all worth it.

In the back of Fushigruo's mind he watched in aw as Yuuji effortlessly cleared the first wave with the snap of his four hands. It obliterated everything, the field became level and the next wave was sent out. Despite the fact he could do this all on his own, the notion of everyone fighting was becoming a lot more clear in his mind. After all. No one can shake off the Shibuya incident.

His mind was focused on getting stronger, each and every day, he has to in order to catch up to Itadori, but now, that was a mere fantasy, and yet, he still tries.

He never would have thought Suiryu would his best source of information for getting stronger. As good as Sensei Gojo was, Suiryu had a different perspective, considering he can break down the fundamentals of an ability nearly instantly after seeing it. But it was the information after that he gave to those who sought his advice. He never knew about the divine pack of wolves, nor the alpha that controls them. Suiryu had to explain it to him, and since then, Fushiguro has felt a lot stronger for it.

"You need to rely on your own strength too," Suiryu warned him after a spar session. "I know you are not completely dependent on your curse ability, quite frankly, that's rare, however it's the wisest move I have ever seen a sorcerer make for themselves."

"Then what do you think I should do to get stronger?" he asked.

Suiryu merely smirked. "Keep pushing yourself, small steps, despite how small will still bring you where you need to be. And soon, those steps will become greater, then leaps and bounds. You are a smart kid, don't forget that. At the same time, don't think you need to die in order to win."

He never thought such profound advice would come from a being who came from Sukuna himself. And yet, he stands on the front lines as they were called in to go after the second wave.

He wanted to be the first one out.

"I'm going to kill more of them then you," Nobara decreed. "I got a new technique!" she bragged aloud.

He gave her a slight smirk. "Good for you, I got this…" He summoned the alpha wolf, Fushiguro turned to it and said. "Please call upon the pack, we're going to war."

The wolf snarled, but there came almost a smile across its lip.

It unleashed a bone chilling howl!

Fushiguro then allowed his curse energy to flow out of him. The wolves began to emurged out of his shadow but gathered behind him. He turned to Nobara who was now slack jawed. "You never said you had THAT many wolves!" she protested.

He merely smiled to her. "Back out of your decree?"

"As if…"

When the call to go in was made, Megumi made a mad dash out!

Although there weren't many sorcerers in this war, their numbers didn't really matter in his mind. Everyone he has worked with, learned with have all grown as sorcerers. He was about to reach the front of the masses when suddenly he heard a deep, resonating roar!

He thought it came from one of the wolves, as a massive amount of curse energy suddenly made a gaping hole in the masses of curse creatures. He paused and turned to see Inumaki suddenly raise his scarf up one more, but gave a thumbs up. "Shit, Suiryu taught him well…"

Fushiguro only smirked as he then made a mad dash in. The first wave of finger bearers were met with the steal blade of his sword and nearly fifty wolves! They were quick to tear about the legions, the weaker member of the back stayed behind to finish the job as the stronger members tore apart and left most of the curses for dead. Megumi already noticed how much stronger he has become too. The alpha and the pack, they are called upon using his curse energy. Such a number was only possible with smaller and weaker summons.

But no more.

"I may not be Itadori… but I will certainly try to at least make him take notice of my growth!" he thought.

Nobara wasn't going to be out done.

She began to remember her few training sessions with Suiryu. Despite the fact he was flirting with her half the time, when she seriously wanted to train and gain his insight, he was remarkably mature and respected her resolve. "Your nails are deadly, but I know you can make them even deadlier. You just need the right method. Your power is impressive and should be taken notice of among the elders. But for now, know your strength, Nobara… you can and will do better than what you have shown me."

He helped her develop a new method as well. She has gotten better at infusing her curse energy as well as raising it to last longer in battle. Her new technique is one to raise eyebrows to say the least. Reaching into her leather bag, she took out a fist full of nails before throwing them into the air. The remained suspended above her until she called out. "Nail gun!"

In a rapid succession, her nails flew without her having to strike them. Like bullets in a gun they mowed down any and all she had her eye on. In that lone attack, she took out a good 78 finger bearers!

She remembered when she had trouble with just the one!

But now, her strength was showing, and it will continue to show.

A problem however was soon noticed, as many as they took out, more began to appear and take their place. "Shit…" she hissed as she saw them coming. She was able to hold up her fight for another forty minutes, but then fatigue reared its ugly head.

"FALL BACK" came from Inumaki.

Many began to retreated having felt the same fatigue she was experiencing. Yet as they tried to pull back, more of the curses were coming, smelling weakness and opportunity…

"They can't hold out much longer, that's just the second wave too…" Principal Yaga said.

Suiryu nodded. "So what's next?" he asked, but then that smile appeared.

Yuuji smiled back.

Taking in a deep breath, he shouted to the heavens. "ONIICHANS!"

Nobara was on the defensive, her nails have been used up, her straw dolls lost among the carnage and she was down to her last ounce of strength. "Damn it, I took out a crazy amount of these bastards and they are still getting the better of me!" she growled.

Sensei Kusakabe was standing before her trying to hold off the curses. "Why the hell isn't the demon vessel doing anything? He can use reverse jujutsu can't he!" he shouted in frustration.

Nobara got to her feet. "He can, but not to this level, he said he can do a mass heal but if he does it, he will also accidentally heal the curses we took out." She said.

"ONIICHANS!"

His voice resonated through the air. Nobara froze as she heard Yuuji yell out such a thing. "What the hell is with him…" she muttered.

Kusakabe was knocked back, his sword snapped in two, as he was no longer able to hold his own. The finger bearers grinned as they poised to strike… only to be cut down!

In fact, everywhere she looked, she saw the finger bearers suddenly drop dead before they could land a finishing blow on the tired out legions! Nobara slowly got to her feet and looked about, only to freeze as she saw someone in the air, yet lingering behind them was a massive pool of blood…

"What…" she then became startled as these grotesque creatures began to appear behind her. They were crimson red but had very disturbing faces to them. They were animals once before by the looks of it, but now they bore empty eyes and cutter mouths. They snarled aloud until they made a mad dash! She braced herself but realized they weren't targeting her, but the next wave of curses coming for them!

"Seriously, what the hell is going on?!" she demanded aloud.

Her blood ran cold though when she saw him. Appearing beside her, she stared into the eyes of the curse she faced once before. But this time he wore a vest to hide his back. He turned to her and gave but a wink. "No hard feelings," he said before he turned a good 100 finger bearers to rot!

She had to turn and glare at Yuuji.

What the hell has he done now?!

It was the signal they have been waiting for. "Everyone ready?" asked Sho.

They nodded with determination, all eyes suddenly came upon Junpei as he stood. "Let's help our brother Yuuji!" he called.

"Show us how it's done, little brother!" said Choso. He smiled proudly to him. "Let's start this together!"

Junpei smiled as he summoned the blood he contained in himself, as the war went on he was slowly taking in more from the battlefield but keeping it within him, waiting to be used. Now it was time!

Choso was the first to come out of hiding, Junpei took a deep breath as he summoned the crimson wings and was able to take flight. Once in the air he got a good view of the battlefield, they are arriving just in time.

"CHOSO!" he called.

His brother at the ready, they summoned the blood and turned them into projectiles from the top, blade from the bottom. Choso was able to mow down most of the legions that were poised to strike the sorcerers who were no longer able to battle. Junpei sniper the rest from the air and ensured that they couldn't run away or regroup. When the wave was cleared out, the next one began to come towards them.

"BROTHERS!" Choso called.

The seven emerged. Tanso took the lead as he called upon his summons and familiars, they will bide them time to cut off the next attack and allow a retreat for the sorcerers. Junpei hit the ground and began to coordinate his brothers. "Noranso! Gather the wounded, bring them to brother Yuuji please. Kotsuso, help replace the weapons of those who can fight with the bones of the special grade curses. Sanso, armor and anything else you can think of that will be helpful. Sho, please clear the battlefield for us, but avoid taking in any of brother's friends."

They smiled to him. "Our little brother has grown so much… You heard him!" Sho called.

With that, the curse wombs made their way to the front lines.

"Arata, be at the ready," Yuuji called. "Dr. Shoko, we got wounded coming in!" Yuuji called.

They gave a nod, but froze as a puddle of flesh rolled its way towards them. When it came to a stop, it opened up and released the severely wounded from its containment. Yuuji went around and healed as best he could. "Save your energy!" protested Arata. "We can handle this, they are not deep wounds or server to say the least…"

Yuuji nodded as he hung back and allowed them to do their job. But there was something he could do. He began to replace everyone's depleted curse energy. With their wound taken care of and strength restored, they appeared ready to go back out again. "Yuuji…"

He paused as he turned to see Principal Yaga. "Are those…" he began to ask as he pointed to the brothers.

He smiled rather nervously. "Uh… yeah," he said offhandedly. "Not exactly proud as to how they came about…"

"But those ARE…"

"They are, but they are on our side," he said gently. "The one leading them, is a good friend of mine, as well. They all consider me to be a brother, and brothers stick together." He said rather proudly.

"We are going to talk about this later, you do know that…"

"Yes sir, but for now, let's make sure they got the support they need!"

Yaga nodded as he turned to those who had recovered. "Whose ready for round two!" he called.
