Chapter 31

"OOF!"

It's been doing on for a while now.

Satoru has taken a lot of damage, and yet couldn't see where it was coming from, who was striking him and how. He felt the blood trickle out his lips, his body ached as he tried to clear his eyes once more.

No good.

"You see Satoru, I've been observing you ever since you got your six eyes. I have worked years on this curse! Itadori inspired me as the more you strike it or it strikes you, the more it takes your curse energy, when you run out of it, the curse will become full! The perfect counter to you, when your energy is gone, you have no strength, the curse on the other hand will… making you a sitting duck!" the elder laughed.

"So, you were part of the fifth hand this whole time huh Eiji?"

He snickered. "But of course, how else would they know the weaknesses of the sorcerers at the school? We planned for our great numbers, after all, the boy is weak, he wouldn't be able to resist protecting his friends when the ties turned!"

"Yeah, I don't sense that at all. You're nearly out of minions, tell me, how is your little war going?"

There was silence, until he was suddenly kicked in the ribs. "OOF!" he moaned and tried to recover from the strike. "I take it I said something that pissed you off…"

"That was nearly 500,000 legions… how could a small handful of sorcerers take down… wait… are those curses!?" came the odd voice.

Satoru crawled until he felt a tree near by, he laid against it as the smile on his face grew. "You didn't think we didn't know about you? Granted, despite getting cut off from your presence suddenly, it did startled me… Oh, and your curse thing there… he's at it's limit too isn't it?"

"What are you saying? Why do you sound so smug?"

Satoru grinned. "I think Sukuna was expecting more from you Chukan…"

The silence became deafening, he began to snicker and laugh aloud to it all, until is voice suddenly changed! But he settled himself. "Just answer me… one question…"

He blinked once, his vision returned as he stared at the two demonic sorcerers. "Was I that convincing?" he asked as his smile grew.

"What… what do you mean?"

"Wait, how did you recover from being blinded?"

"Was I that convincing? I mean, I know Satoru is a smug asshole, yet at the same time, you didn't think it was strange that he got beaten and outsmarted like this? So… I WAS that convincing?"

The two froze in fear as he stood up off the ground. "Well, I don't want to miss my turn playing with your legions so, I think I'll leave the rest to him now…" reaching into his jacket he took out a small bell on a chain, he rang it a little before it rang back at him. "Oh good, he's ready to switch…"

The voice deepened, the two sorcerers froze as Satoru suddenly took the form of Sukuna! He smirked and licked his lips. "As much as I want to stick around and finish you off… a deal is a deal…" he clapped his hands, Suiryu was standing at the base where everyone was being treated. He paused the moment he saw Yuuji but he appeared to be glowing like an ember!

"Bro?" he asked with confusion.

"Hey Suiryu, you switched with sensei?"

"Yeah… how the fuck did you become that?!" he demanded.

Yuuji's once spiked hair was now droopy, but at the same time, it oozed magma. His curse marks aglow like red embers as his skin appeared to be cracked a little and oozed lava. "Oh, I ate that special grade curse that looked like mount Fuji… he tasted okay!" he said.

"Ah, that maybe it then. That curse was close to an elemental and has altered you slightly… probably temporary…" Suiryu said. "Nice look though!"

"Thanks, well…" looking over the battle field, the brothers were retreating with everyone else. "Looks like the rest are yours."

Suiryu smirked as he stretched himself out. Reaching into his pocket he took out his IPod and ear buds. "I got to get my playlist, just a moment…"

Yuuji calmed himself down enough to dispel the heat he was emitting. He then went around checking the wounded, but his first priority was Sho. He released all the transfigured people he obtained, from there Yuuji went right to work, removing the curse energy from their bodies, freeing the people from their prison. "I still don't get how you do that…" muttered Yaga.

Junpei had a few within his hands, the last ones to be extracted from Mahito before he killed him. "Good job, everyone, and thank you," he said with great sincerity.

"Uh… Itadori… that wave is getting too close for comfort…" said Mia.

He looked and saw massive curses approaching then. These are the ones who have consumed at least five fingers worth of power. "Suiryu is handling it," he explained but saw Suiryu still working out his playlist.

"Yuuji…" Yaga said in a warning tone.

"Nope, I promised him," he insisted.

His back was turned, but he sensed one curse aiming to strike him down… until the whole mass of them suddenly burst into gore.

He turned as Suiryu went in, his maniacal laugh could be heard across the battlefield as blood and gore began to spew up towards the sky.

No one moved.

No one could believe that such destruction happened in mere seconds!

"I can't believe that he's that powerful…" whispered Dr. Shoko.

It only grew worst as time wore one, some of the curses were launched into the air only to be shot with a fire arrow and burst into gore upon impact. Even the brothers were startled to how powerful Suiryu was.

"Wait for it…" Yuuji said as he felt the final blow was about to be unleashed. As the legions were diced, the field erupted in a supernatural fire. The corpses were burned, as walking through the flames, unaffected by the heat was Suiryu.

There was a content look on his face as he sighed aloud. "Ah… I feel a lot better now." He announced. With a wave of his hand, the flame went out.

Yuuji snickered as he then felt something was off. "We're not done yet…"

"No, I wouldn't think we are. Satoru is taking his dear sweet…"

There came a blast of purple light. "Ah there he goes, that's the curse I was fighting, I doubt it would have worked to kill Satoru, but had they blinded him as they did me, they would have had a chance…"

"They blinded you?"

"Yep…" reaching into his pocket, he took out the bandana he wore, it was since confined to a plastic bag before he tossed it to Dr. Shoko. "You may want to look this over, this could have crippled Satoru."

She merely nodded.

Another blast erupted from the east, this time, two bodies dropped and came to a grinding halt. Suiryu was cracking his knuckles. "One more round?" he asked.

Yuuji smirked. "Always!"
