Total Drama: The Original Island
Minisode 7: The leave
"I'm sorry, I just can't Steven!" Calls out a female voice hollers out. She is a middle aged woman with blonde hair that sweeps down her shoulders, her wrinkled, beige blouse contrasts with her black jeans. She's yelling at a bulky, hairy man. He wears a sloppy white tank top with blue jeans.
"Then what do you want me to do?" The man hollers back. His arms wave in the air frantically, "You spend all your time at work, don't give a damn about our kid-" The man yells before he's cut off.
"Number one, he's my kid. Number two, maybe I would be more keen to talking to him if you weren't spending you're entire day… I don't know, working at that stupid construction site with your lazy friends. Perhaps, he's be a happier person if you didn't… I don't know, abandon us for a week while you went to Las Vegas with those friends. And guess what you did in Las Vegas," The woman snaps back sassily. She blocks the open doorway.
"Yes, I cheated on you once get over it. Just like how I got over you going to jail for a weekend. He was devastated that you weren't there. Mommy this, mommy that. He complained all day just because you couldn't care to call a taxi," Steven says snarkily. His wife is at a loss of words but picks herself up.
"Well tell me, how am I suppose to get a taxi?" The wife says, "You know there's no taxis near us, unless you count the shady ones in the ghetto. The same ones that use to rob my mother in the 80s and are probably still robbing people now. Anyways, your job just isn't cutting us anymore, especially with our daughter on the way," The woman says as she shakes her head. Steven puts his hand on her shoulder. She moves his hand quickly. This causes Steven to frown as he checks on his son. He looks at him and back at her.
"Look, Kelsie. I've been trying to take back my past. And… I really don't want don't to seem like a coward and go after-"
"Wha- What are you saying?" Asks Kelsie. She looks at him concerned. However he burries his face and looks out a nearby window.
"I think you know what I'm saying," Steven says as he looks from the kitchen door to his bedroom where his possesions are.
"No, Steven you can't leave… we have a 2 year old and our daughter on the way… we just talked about this? Don't you want her to live a… peaceful life? And our son, he likes you Steven, he actually likes you, not counting your smell but that's to be expected," Scoffs Kelsie. The man shoves her out the way.
"COME BACK!" Yells the woman.
"Goodbye, Travis… may you live a better life. Hopefully, I can see you again," Steven says as he looks into Travis' innocent eyes. He begins to cry but proceeds to run out and start his car. Kelsie follows him.
"Come back! Steven! Nooooooooooooooooooo," Yells the woman as she stands still in fright as Steven's red pick up truck leaves their driveway and slowly disappears into their suburban neighborhood. Kelsie walks back into their house and passes by a frozen Travis.
"Your father is dead," Says his mother as she shakes her head. Travis is left to think in sadness.
