Episode 9: Musical Chair

The episode starts out in the girl's Dolphin dorms. It's just Milly and Luna. Luna is scrolling through a fashion magazine as Milly is watching TV. Luna sighs disappointed as she thinks about the lost of her boyfriend, AJ. Milly looks up from her TV to Luna. Milly blushes but keeps herself together.
"You don't need men, you need m- I mean you need to get some time to yourself. You know what why don't you use all of your energy into winning today's challenge so no one goes home. On our team at least," Milly says as she glances to Luna who went back to depressingly flipping through her magazine, "Look at me and never forget what I'm telling you. You need to go to the next level. You need to bring all the pain into motivation. You need to win that challenge, not for Aj, not for the team, but for you," Milly says as she points to Luna. Luna takes it personally, she looks to herself and sighs and then looks back at her magazine.
Luna Interview
Luna rubs her cardigan.
"Man it sucks to be here without AJ but a girl has to do what a girl has to do. That's the problem, kind of. I mean we met on the first day and now we're here. This is what I was avoiding to do," Luna says as she looks into the camera.
"I feel so defeated that I wasted my time here on him. I mean we're still dating but… forget it. I'll Win for him, if I can. Sure, he was my only personality for a time but, this is where I take charge. I will become my own person. I am Luna, the model. I am me," Luna says as she pumps her fist in the air. Her fists hit a light fixture which breaks in front of her.
End Luna Interview
The camera switches to the boys Spiders dorm. It's just Andrew, Zachuary, and Lance. Lance peacefully strums his guitar as Andrew reads a manga. Lance looks over to observe the girls were tight outfits on the cover.
"Hey can I borrow that?" Lance asks.
Andrew looks at him knowing what's going on, "Hmm that's interesting you never really struck me as an anime fan. Heck you complained about it multiple times in the past and… and in day 6 you called it annoying and threw my comic, Adventures of Naria Dream World book 136 on the ground. Then you stomped on it, remember?" Andrew smirks.
"Well I- umm," Lance says embarrassed.
"Whatever, just hold it for me, please?" Lance asks as he blushes.
"Who's the push over now?" Lucas laughs from the bottom of Lance's bunk.
Lance rolls his eyes as he sheepishly walks back over to his bunk.
Lucas Interview
"I just don't see why I'm always be joked about. They all say, Lucas your being played. Lucas she cheated on 4 of her last boyfriends. Lucas get out of that Lion's cage. I mean I'm getting out of the cage as others are going into it. I can't even mess with people today. Well hopefully beside Brittany," Lucas says as he winks.
End Lucas Interview
The camera switches to the boys dolphin bunk. It's been feeling rather empty since Aj left. Travis gets his bedsheets of his bed.
"What do you think you're doing?" Asks Jackson as he looks over from his top bunk to Travis who currently has a not cleaned sheets in between his legs as he carries a fluffy pillow in his arms.
"Now that Ajs gone, I'm taking the top bunk," Travis says as he climbs in between the top and bottom bunk on the left side of the room.
"Hmm," Jackson says as he narrows his eyes cautiously.
"You gonna say something or not?" Asks Travis still stuck between the bunks.
Jackson balances his thoughts and weighs his response, "No, I have nothing. Go ahead," Says Jackson maliciously. He smiles.
Travis looks over and cautiously placed his sheets and pillows followed by his blanket and the rest of his belongings.
They stop as they hear Chris outside once again with a megaphone.
"Come to the cafeteria for breakfast, as you do that someone will be arriving to the island. For contractual reasons I can't say who but some of y'all will be happy. Anyways, come on over," Yells Chris seen through Jackson and Travis's window.
"You go now, I'll come later," Says Jackson as he points Jackson to the door. He takes out Milly's journal.
Travis unsurely smiles but turns back and leaves.
"Now let's take some… study time…"Jackson whispers to himself after Travis leaves. He flips over on his stomach and begins to read more of Milly's personal research.
He flips the pages looking throughout different people. He feels unsatisfied but reads anyway.
The camera shifts to the cafeteria. Claire is serving grits and bacon behind the copper buffet-like counter. Brittany sits in the center around Nui, Milly, and Luna who are all having a conversation.
"Ugh," Brittany says as she sits down rudely. Milly, Nui, and Luna look to her.
"Can I help you?" Nui says innocently.
Brittany slams herself down along with Lucas who follows.
"No, I'm just here to eat. Why are you always so bossy?" Asks Brittany trying her hardest to sound innocent. Nui raises an eyebrow. But looks down. Luna looks up at her.
"Oh hey, Brittany. What's on your mind?" Asks Luna.
"Ok… so get this. Why isn't there a bathroom that's only reserved for me?" Brittany says snobbily.
"Actually that does exist," Nui says as she taps her chin.
Brittany's face lights up, "Really! What and like where is it?" Brittany says, her hand has gone off her plate.
Nui chuckles, "It's called a diaper,"
Brittany's face frowns, "Ugh whatever, go talk to your other babies…" Brittany says.
"Umm I'm older than a baby," Says Milly as she raises her finger.
"Ugh apparently you guys can't get jokes either, come on Lucas, lets leave these… loser toddlers," Brittany says as she motions to Lucas who gets up and they leave.
The girls look to each other as the camera switches to Lance and Andrew, they sit at the far right table.
"Hey… Andrew," Lance says awkwardly as he arrives to the table with his food.
"Hi! How's it going?" Greets Andrew. Lance sits down with his food.
"Okay… so I haven't really done anything… somewhat boyfriend like with Nui and I was wondering if there was any… thing I should do with her. You probably aren't the best person for the question, but I just need a second opinion, ya know?" Lance says as he shrugs. Andrew thinks for a second but comes up with something.
"If I were you I would-" Andrew whispers in Lance's ear as he nods his head in agreement. They move apart.
"Wow umm that was… actually pretty good. I'll take it to her tonight," Lance says pretty excited.
"Glad I could help," Says Andrew as Lance takes a large bite of bacon. Andrew awkwardly takes a spoonful of spits it out dramatically, the entire room looks at him.
"Wha- what is this?" Andrew asks disgusted ignoring Lance across from him who has remnants of Andrew's half eaten grits.
"It's poison!" Shouts out Travis, "I had a dream about this kind of thing yesterday night,"
Andrew rolls his eyes, "Thanks alot," Says Andrew as he rubs his now red face.
"Our guests have arrived, please meet us outside by the stage," Says Chris trying to break the awkward silence. He has a walkie-talkie in his left hand.
Milly shrugs and gets up and out of the cafeteria.
"Um where is this stage supposed to be?" Asks Milly.
"Oh yeah it's in the nature section of the island. Just move past the abandoned boardwalk, you'll find it," Chris says nonchalantly. He keeps the door open as the crowd rushes out to meet their special guest. Its signed off by Mimi screaming uncontrollably.
We get to see a white woman with blonde hair with strands of pink in a short ponytail. She is wearing a pink crop top along with pink leather pants. Next to her is a Hispanic guy with black hair wearing an all red jumpsuit. On the other side of the girl is a black haired white guy wearing a suit along with a Green tie.
"Umm should I have brought an exorcist with me?" Ask Britney confused. The campers round the corner.
"Britney? Wait OH MY GOODNESS IT'S BRITNEY SPARKS!" Shrieks Luna.
"Um… hi," Britney says friendly.
"Wait Brittany?" Britney says as she narrows her eyes towards Brittany.
"Britney, I never thought you would be here," Brittany says.
"Oh my goodness, bestie!" Britney says.
"Um it's nice having you here but can like someone please explain what we're doing here today?" Jackson says as he randomly appears. This visually surprises Andrew.
"Oh yeah, hi, I'm Ace, I am actually in charge of the Funstyle record company. The challenge for you teens is to perform your best song," Ace smiles.
"Yeah, what he said," Says Britney.
"Mhmm," Follows Diego.
The campers awkwardly look at the three ramble on.
"So umm do we go and start now?" Asks Lance as he points of camera.
"Oh umm yeah go ahead, we'll just be hanging out here if you need anything," Says Ace casually as he turns to the two other judges and they resume their conversation.
The camera follows the dolphins.
"Ok… so does any of us know how to sing?" Asks Milly bluntly, Jackson looks away and Travis awkwardly shrugs. The only one left is Luna who is left somewhat offended.
"Umm first off, I'm the leader for today. I got this, and second as your leader I assign myself as today's singing it?" Luna says snappily. Milly is taken aback from her attitude, Jackson doesn't care and Travis nods his head.
"Umm… okay," Says Milly awkwardly.
Milly Confessional
"I don't know who Luna thinks she is but she's about to get a slap of reality, wait no not by me. I'm just saying her being all bossy like this isn't her strength, but who am I to comment?" Milly says as she shrugs.
End Milly Confessional
"Okay… but first…. I will need to talk to Jackson for something," Luna says maliciously. Jackson side eyes her casually but does not say a word.
The camera transitions to the Spider team.
"Ok so here's whats going to happen, I'm going to sing my famous piano ballad, with you. After that we're going to victory lane. If you have a problem with that I suggest you stay quite or else your my #1 pick for the next elimination ceremony!" Screams Brittnay. The other watch her in a quite shock. Lance shrugs.
"Eh whatever, you do that. I'm going to enjoy my free day," Lance says as he begins to walk of with his bass. Brittany grabs his arm aggressively.
"You go when I tell you to go," Says Brittany. She stares a look straight into Lance's soul, she then drop him.
"Anyways… I'll see if there's a piano nearby," Brittany says as she walks off.
"Harsh woman," Sighs Andrew.
"She is not harsh… she is simply… complicated," Says Lucas hopefully.
"Sure, as complicated as my left thumb, she just a bit of a bi-" Lance says before he's cut of by Nui.
"I wouldn't say that if I were you," Nui says.
"HEY GUYS! I FOUND IT!" Yells Brittany from the other side of the stage. The spider team comes running towards her. She sits on the side of a stage where a black grand piano is beside her.
"Umm can you move it onto the stage for me? Do I have to tell you everything to do?" Brittany scoffs as she begins to file her nails. Nui and Lance share a glance but remain silent before the judges
"Um huns you aren't suppose to perform yet," Says Diego concerned.
"We're just practicing," Says Brittany. They however are oblivious to Luna and Jackson above them on the roof of the stage.
"Okay so your going to drop the light on Brittany. Remember, aim for the head, aim for the head," Says Luna as Jackson awkwardly looks at her.
"Umm I know I'm usually all for this kind of stuff but… are you sure? This seems really unlike you," Jackson says sincerely as he holds out the spotlight.
"Yeah I'm doing fine," Says Liuna.
"Ok…" Jackson says as he drops the spotlight. It misses Brittany's head but instead smacks in the middle of the piano right as Brittany sits down. The piano smashes to pieces and one piece is stuck in Brittany's left small finger. The judges watches silently and are appalled by the damage that they see in front of them.
"Brittany are you okay?" Yells out Britney as she runs over to stage. Diego and Ace follow suit. Brittany dramatically rolls over on her back and shows her bloody finger to the judger.
"No," Brittany sighs over dramatically.
"Ok… your going to have to sit out the rest of the day… for safety measures, hey Diego! Can we get this girl a band aid or something?" Britney asks to the two guys behind her.
"Out? For the whole day?" Brittany says as her eyes open, "No, it's only a minor injury,"
Britney looks apologetic, "Sorry but after the lawsuit on, Can you read? The network doesn't allow injured people to compete in anything,"
Brittany frowns as Nui, Lance, and Andrew shyly smile as Luna and Jackson climb down from the top of the stage.
"Ok, now let's practice," Luna smiles as she approaches Milly and Travis.
"Hey, where did you guys go?" Asks Travis suspiciously.
"I was hunting for some props with Jackson," Luna lies. She gets stared down by the duo of Milly and Travis but they back up.
"Umm okay, what song are you doing?" Asks Milly.
"It's called Icebreaker, it's by Devi La'Mor," Luna says as she selects the song on her I pod. She takes out a metal chair.
"Wh-" Travis says as he watches Luna dance and sing. The camera avoids the song and dance but they campers watching her are in shock.
Luna finishes her routine and the Spider members are left in shock.
"So, what did you think?" Asks Luna as she finishes covered in sweat.
"Umm it was intense," Says Milly truthfully.
"I- I liked it, I guess?" Travis says somewhat worried about Luna's reaction.
"It was amazing, 10/10," Says jackson confidently.
Jackson Confessional
"Umm wow. I can't believe I'm saying this but Luna's doing my job for me. She is literally destroying herself before my eyes and I didn't even have to do anything," Jackson smiles.
"I guess I can appreciate her for that," Jackson shrugs
End Jackson Confessional
The sky turns black, the night has already begun. The Spider team is finishing their practice. They approach the stage, it seems so tall. As they approach they get an announcement from the judges.
"Hi people! We are ready for y'all's performances. So...umm," Diegos voice lowers into a whisper, "So I just read the paper?" His voice returns to its regular pitch, "Ok so first up we have The Spiders! Come show us what you got," Diego says!
Nui and Lance look to each other, "Do we have this?" Nui asks Lance cautiously.
"We got this in the bag, trust me," Lance smiles back. They look back to see Andrew giving them a thumbs up as Lucas awkwardly leans against the stage wall.
They smile as they hold hands to the stage. Nui is now wearing a red silk dress with her hair in a bun. They arrive onto the stage, Lance plugs in his Ipod to the speaker system.
"Hi, what are you two doing for today's performance?" Asks Ace from the judge's table below the stage.
"Umm we're doing Bring me to life by: Evanstance," Lance says casually. He wears ripped black jeans with a white t shirt and his usual leather jacket.
"You may start," Says Britney as Lance runs off and Nui sits in the middle of the stage. One single spotlight lays on her.
How can you see into my eyes, like open doors

Sings Nui as she remains in the center of the stage. However she hits a low note. She feels somewhat embarrassed by, she looks up and looks eyes with Britney who stares back at her.

Nui begins to stand up in anticipation of Lance who arrives before the chorus hits.

Sings Lance and Nui. Lance arrives with a corded microphone in hand. She rips off her dress to unveil a green tank top along with jeans. She reaches to Lance and leans on him for the next verse.

Nui breaks apart from Lance as the chorus comes.

Sings Lance on his own, Nui has turned away from the judges and is now looking dreamily into Lance's eyes.

Nui sings as she backs up to the edge. Lance slowly follows her knowing the end is close. However, Nui doesn't realize and falls of the stage, she gasps in embarrassment. She knows she's ruining the performance. However, before she hits the ground Lance reaches out his hand to grab and save gasps and whispers a thank you to Lance who only goes into the next verse as he helps Nui up.
All this time, I can't believe I couldn't see

Lance sings/ yells as Nui finally makes it fully onto the stage. He looks down at her as they finish the final part of the song together.
They take a bow awkwardly. Nui jumps into Lance's arms… who drops her but picks her up apologetically.
"Umm that was… wow, okay next up is the dolphins!" Diego says as Luna comes out from the curtain she passes Nui and Lance.
"Good luck," Lance says. Luna accepts it but thinks of it as a taunt.
Luna is only holding a black chair, she is not wearing her regular attire and instead is wearing an odd black leather suit.
"So…. umm Ms. Luna, what song are you doing?" Asks Ace. He has a calm cool spirit about him.
"I am doing, Icebreaker by Devi La'Mor," Luna says as she places the chair down.
"Ok please start," Says Britney as Luna gets set up.

Sings Luna as sits in the chair. She flips her hair a few times the judges watch as the write.

Luna says as she sits in the chair flopped over on her back. She spins around to look at the judges.
I never knew I was a problem
But an Icebreaker told me
That maybe I should solve myself, then it would solve me baby
Luna says as she stares daggers at the judges. Diego gets up.
"That's enough, I'm feeling kind of uncomfortable right now," Diego says as he lifts his hands into the air.
"Diego no, let the girl finish," Ace says apologetically.
"No, I refuse, Spiders got up here!" Diego shouts.
Luna look embarrassed off the side to her team who mostly sit awkwardly. She looks apologetically to the judges as Nui and Lance enter the stage. Jackson snickers under his breathe as he pulls a lever. It dunks water all onto Luna. She is shocked by the water but begins to cry of embarrassment.
"I'm sorry… after all that you went through but… the spiders won!" Diego says, however the excitement isn't there. Everyone really feels bad for Luna who remains crying, soaking wet in water. The campers feel guilty until Ace reaches out to her.
"Hey," Ace says in a whisper like tone.
*Sniff* "Yes, what do you want from me?" Asks Luna still somewhat emotional.
"Hey...so umm I know you're probably going to be voted off… but I want to give you an ultimatum," Says Ace as he gets Luna's attention.
"A- what?" Asks Luna who looks up to the judge.
"If you quit, right here, right now, I'll… sign you, your pretty. I think you'll do well among our list of other artificial pop icons," Ace says meaningful.
"Hey!" Yells Britney in the background.
"So… do you quit or not?" Asks Ace.
She looks around to her team who all nods their heads, "I guess so… I guess I failed Aj's promise. I guess… I quit," Luna says.
"Great I'll get out the contract," Ace says as he rushes offscreen. Luna walks over to her team.
"I'm sorry I've been so bossy today, it's just that everyone was telling me to… be my own person and to be in charge. I guess that's not exactly my best role," Chuckle Luna, "But one more thing, who released the water on me?"
Travis silently points to Jackson. Luna walks up to him and slaps him across the face.
"You're lucky you're a girl," Says Jackson coldly.
"You're lucky you
Milly and Travis both looked somewhat blown away by Luna's remarks. Jackson grunts.
"You'll be gone soon," Jackson says as he glares at Luna.
"I know, I just came to say my goodbyes. Anyways… chao! I'll invite the lot of you at my concert. Someone not included for obvious reasons," Luna says as she looks to Jackson.
"Bye!" Says Milly as she waves off Luna who moves to Ace who came back with a few papers.
"Bye Luna," Follows Travis.
The campers, interns, and hosts watch as Luna signs the papers. She goes through each of them carelessly.
"And… you're done. Congratulations on being signed to Funstyle Records," Ace smiles to a still wet Luna. She gets a warm hug by Britney followed by Diego.
The camera transitions to the four of them getting onto the airplane.
"Bye!" Waves off Chris and Claire.
"Bye!" The four of them wave back.
"Hey are there any good taco places in LA because I am starving," Luna laughs as they fly away.
