Beautiful Ending

After her twin sister and voice is taken from her, Kuri discovers a vampire named Crepsley is responsible. Kuri decides to find the vampire and take back her sister, but to do this she must become a vampire. Her journey into the clan bonds her to Darren Shan, and brings her to a place of leadership she never thought possible.

30. Confessions

"Mr Crepsley!" Darren said. "Please tell me what's going on!"

"I cannot! I cannot!" Larten said. "You will tell me to kill her. It's what I should have done, but I cannot."

"Kill who?" Darren said. "What has happened to Kuri?"

"Reiko has her." Larten said. "

"Reiko?" Darren said. "Why is that a bad thing? They are sisters."

"Reiko has...changed." Larten said. "She has become feral and wild. She's responsible for the killings."

Darren's eyes widened. "S-She has Kuri! We have to save her! Mr Crepsley where is she! She's scared and hurting I can feel it! Please! Please!"

Larten put a hand on his chest. "If you go in there she will see you as a threat. You will get yourself killed. I will go. I will reason with her. I give you my word that I will bring Kuri back alive."
