Kuri was asleep next to Reiko when they heard the noise.
Someone was coming, but who?
Reiko snarled and got in front of her. Was she protecting her, or trying to keep another from her meal.
Kuri did not know.
She shivered, afraid of who would threaten Reiko. She wanted to protect Reiko, but she also didn't want to get eaten.
In a few moments, Larten and Darren came in.
"Thank goodness!" Darren ran to her, ignoring Reiko. "You're alive!"
"You did not kill her?" Larten said.
Reiko shook her head. "I could not disappoint you anymore Larten. My killing days are over. I'm so sorry."
Larten took her into his arms. "You chose good. I am glad."
"Then we can spend Christmas together!" Reiko beamed.
Kuri kissed Darren.
