She replies, "I think the cast is awesome; a few of them are familiar to me from the play scene, but most of them are really good actors that haven't gotten their big break yet. So it's going to be wonderful working with a crew this talented."
Columbus says, "Yeah I agree; I have spent some time with the guys today, and let me tell you Josh and Jeff are ridiculously funny, and Guillermo too, I still watch, his movie "Half baked." This is going to be a fun group to work with; I can't wait to start."
She agrees wholeheartedly, it's going to be a good group. But she notices he purposely misses one of the male cast members; she knows he did it on purpose. It's their unspoken rule, and she's not going to touch it, despite being tempted. They are in public.
He senses the discomfort looming as the question floats in the air; so before she says something he says, "I don't dislike him Kerry, I just don't like the situation." She pauses and says, "Let's not talk about this Colby, especially not here. It's a non-issue."
He responds, "Have you really tricked yourself into believing that?" She replies, "What do you mean? I've worked with other actors that I've had relations with before, and the project was a success."
He looks at her squarely in the eyes as he says, "How many of them were you in love with Kerry?" She knew the answer, and he did too. He sees her getting upset. So he says, "Look I don't want to upset you. You're right let's not talk about this here. I am sorry."
She sees the sincerity in his eyes; she knows that he just wants the best for her, and on the surface the situation doesn't appear to be the best. But in the same instance; he knows how deeply in love she is and how much Tony loves her in return.
She forgives him as she says, "Your apology is accepted; can we change the subject now?" He replies, "Thanks, and yes we can. How are the ladies treating you?" She responds, "They are nice and friendly." He interjects, "so the backstabbing hasn't started yet huh?"
She smiles as she says, "Stop it Colby; they are nice women and I think we will get along fine." He smiles as he says, "Yeah Bellamy seems to be very friendly and very nice from what I understand." She notices his tone as he speaks, and the tilting of his head. She says, "I am afraid to ask how you know anything about her, when you literally just met her today."
He laughs as he says, "Well let's just say that not all men are gentlemen; many kiss and tell, and the ones she's been with are telling it all. So her reputation precedes her, and having known her for a few hours now, I can say it's not wrong."
She realizes what he means now; but clarifies by asking, "So she made a pass at you?" He replies, "Yes, she definitely let me know she is open for business, and I would be a preferred customer." She laughs at his comment; but knows he's being 100% serious.
After they take sips of their drinks she says, "Perhaps telling her you're married will help." He replies, "Why should I have to tell her; it's not like my wedding band is invisible. But to be fair I did tell her, and I am not sure it makes any difference to her."
Kerry gives a concerned look; he picks up on it, and says, "Hey don't fret, he won't fall for it. She's not his type." She responds with a smile as she says, "Now you know his type huh?" He replies, "Yeah I do; he knows he's hit the jackpot with you, and he's not letting you go. You're who he wants. So again, no worries," As he ends his statement, he pats her on her back, and she nods as she says, "No worries."
As they look around the room, they notice the crowd has begun to dwindle. The network execs are gone, so only some of the cast and crew still remain. Columbus says, "I wonder if it's cool if we leave; I still have to unpack and set up my apartment. Thank goodness it's already furnished." She asks, "When did you get here?" He says, about an hour before we had to be here."
She laughs as she says, "I am sure there's a story that goes with that response. But I will ask you to spare me the details." He laughs as he says; that may be a good idea." They agree to leave that alone as he asks, "Where are you staying?"
She replies, "The brownstone complex." He asks, "Why? Most of us are staying at Premiere Plaza down the street." She responds, "Well, I'd secured an apartment here already, before I found out about the accommodations that were set up for the cast." He replies, "Oh okay; look at you Ms. Prepared." They smile at each other as she replies, "Whatever; don't hate."
As they chuckle after their banter; Shonda walks over to them and says, "Hello you two. Are you having a good time?" They both say, "Yes." In unison. She smiles as she responds, "Great, I am glad. I just wanted to let you know, you are free to go whenever you like. I will be heading out soon myself." They both smile at her and say, "Thank you." As she nods at them, and they bid each other a good day.
