Kerry wakes up to the smell of bacon and eggs cooking, and an absent Josie. Normally, she's sitting on the pillow next to her waking her for her walk. But her absence is evidence of her favorite person being present. She looks at the clock, and realizes although it's early; she needs to get up.
She goes into the kitchen, and just as she thought. Josie is by her daddy's side. He's standing at the stove wearing some pajama pants and a T shirt. She's a tad disappointed, because she loves looking at his body. But cooking while naked can present its own set of challenges.
As she still looks him up and down; she sees Josie. She's wagging her tail and waiting for treats as she watches him cook. He drops her doggie treats, as he cooks and she jumps for joy. The sight makes her laugh, and he turns to greet her. He sees her standing in the doorway. Her hair is in disarray and she's wearing a night shirt and nothing else. He loves her natural look, first thing in the morning. She looks the most beautiful to him then.
She walks over to him as he says, "Good morning beautiful." She replies, "Good morning, handsome." They share a kiss and a smile as she asks, "How long have you been up?" He responds, "Not long; I was up going over the script again. I needed to refresh some of my lines." She smiles because she knows he's the consummate professional. She appreciates his dedication, and his work ethic, and she's also loving the way he takes care of her, in every way.
He sees her smiling and asks, "What's the smile for?" She replies, "The smile is for you being who you are, and always taking care of me." As he turns off the eggs; he turns to her, and places both hands on the counter on either side of her. They stare into each other's eyes as he says, "You're welcome gorgeous." She grins at him and they share a deep kiss, that's broken up by Josie standing between them on their feet.
They both look down after the kiss breaks and she's wagging her tail, clearly looking for attention. "Did you walk her this morning?" He replies, "Yeah, I did. I think she's just looking for cuddle time." She responds, "Yes, she missed you, and is trying to make up for lost time." They both laugh as he picks her up, and gives her some love, while Kerry sets the table.
As they finish breakfast and begin to start their day; Kerry says, "We need to put together a plan for the Oval scene." He replies, "What kind of plan?" She responds, "One that keeps our clothes on so we don't turn this into a porno." He laughs as he says, "Ker you're being over dramatic." She replies, "Am I Tony? Did you forget how us running the lines together yesterday went?"
He looks up at her and sees she is starting to stress. He walks over to her and says, "Baby listen to me. It will be fine. I promise you; I will not let it go too far. Don't you trust me?" She replies, "Yes." He says, "Then let me handle this, and I promise it will work out." He sees her eyes relent; the worry starts to dissipate, and she smiles at him as he asks her to do.
He grins at her as he says, "There's my lady; such a beautiful smile." She touches his hand as it cups her face, and they share one more kiss, before heading out the door to the set. They take separate cars; she arrives on set first, with Josie in tow. He then arrives about twenty minutes later.
On set, the environment is crazy busy; Kerry walks into the production area, and sees everyone paired up, discussing scenes and running lines. Columbus comes over to her and says, "Hey lady; how are you this morning? Oh and you've bought a friend too." She replies, "Morning Colby. We are doing just fine; aren't we Josie?"
He smiles at her interaction with her dog as he says, "So she talks too?" Kerry says, "Yes she does; she's asking how are you?" He grins as he responds, "I am Gucci thanks Josie." They both laugh as Tony walks into the room, and greets both of them. "Good morning you two." She looks at him with a smile as she speaks in return and so does Columbus.
Columbus thinks to himself; interesting choice to appear they have arrived separately, even around him. But whatever works. After exchanging pleasantries; Tony heads over to speak to the production staff, leaving Kerry and Columbus to talk. After he walks away Columbus asks, "So you two are going to run this act 24/7 huh?"
She replies, "Colby don't start." He says, "Kerry, I am just asking for my own knowledge. I am not trying to start a fight today." She sighs as she says, "Yes we are Colby, and I'd appreciate it if you'd help us keep it up." He responds, "You mean run interference?" She says, "Yes please." He gives her a look of annoyance initially; but he relents quickly. He remembers all the times she's covered for him, and knows he owes her one. So he says, "Okay no worries. I'm on it."
She flashes him a smile and he smiles back as he says, "You're lucky I love you girl." She replies, "Same here buddy." They laugh as the director Tom Verica announces for everyone to pair up. Everybody finds their places, and the day begins.
From one scene to the next; the day is nonstop. The set runs like a well-oiled machine. Everyone hits their marks and delivers their lines on time and in the correct fast paced manner Shonda likes. After shooting her first scene with Bellamy and Tony at Camp David; Kerry sees that Bellamy is bringing her flirtations into her character. This is going to be quite a challenge she tells herself, especially since Tony acts as if he's eating it up.
As they prepare to shoot the Oval scene; she's in her trailer taking a quick break, and getting her make up retouched. Her cell buzzes, and she checks it as she gets out of the chair. "We got this baby. Just breathe, and trust me." She smiles as she reads his make-up artist says, "Whoever has you smiling like that; he's a keeper for sure." She laughs as she smiles at her and says, "Yeah he's definitely a keeper. Thanks."
She returns to the set and they begin the scene. She takes a breath and goes into the shot ready to get it done. Once they yell action; her character takes over, and she lets go in the moment completely, and as her love asks. She lets him guide her and trusts him implicitly.
When the scene ends; she doesn't really remember what happened. She comes out of character and realizes it's over, and people are clapping. She smiles at everyone, and when she walks off the set Darby says, "Damn, that was hot." She smiles at her as she asks, "Was it that good?" She responds, "Girl you two caused Shonda to clutch her necklace during that slap and kiss." Kerry and Darby laugh together, which relaxes Kerry immediately. The day continues and they finish most of the scenes; they break for the rest of the day, and go home, looking to hit it again tomorrow.
