Glitchy makes her way to Celadon City via the Cycling Road. Exploring the city, she finds the Game Corner. However, upon learning they only offer the same game as back home she decides to pass. She instead decides to speak to a man who's home is surrounded by water.
"Grimer started to appear recently. You see the pond in front of the house?" the man asks
"Yeah, I surfed over it to speak to you"
"It has Grimer too. I wonder where they came from. Sigh…"
Glitchy shrugs and goes on her way again. She heads to the Celadon Condominius and speaks to the people living inside. She discovers the building has two elevators that work differently from each other. The elevator on the first floor will take her to the third floor. On the second floor there are two elevators. The one on the right will take her to the roof while the one on the left will take her to the first and third floor.
She heads to the third floor and Ethan happens to be there.
"Hey, Glitchy" Ethan says, enthusiastically
"Hey, Ethan… I think I'm on the wrong floor" Glitchy says, hoping to get away from him
"Guess what?"
"I made a mistake by coming here?"
"That Sound Designer over there showed me something cool"
"The ability to ignore everything I say?!
"It's a hi-tech, retro machine to listen to music from the Game Boy!"
"The what? Are we breaking the forth wall cause I doubt we're that good to do that"
"He said he'll give it to anyone who has collected all of the Kanto Badges. Why don't you go for it, Glitchy? See ya!"
"Yeah,,, no to both"
Glitchy sighs as she watches him leave then heads back into the elevator. She takes the elevator on the second floor to the roof. On the roof is a man who wants to tell her a 'scary story' but only at night. She sees a man she cannot get to so has to go back to the second floor, then down to the first floor to take the elevator up to the roof. She goes up to speak to them only to learn he likes high places. She leaves the Celadon Condominius feeling like she waisted her time.
Glitchy heads to Celadon Gym to challenge the gym leader, Erika. She decides to use Max to help her with this badge. She manages makes her way to Erika, after somehow making her way through the maze.
"Hello, lovely weather, isn't it? It's so pleasant, I'm afraid I might doze off. My name is Erika, I am the leader of Celadon City. Oh? You are from Johto, you say?"
"Did I…?"
"How nice… oh, I;m sorry, I didn't realise that you wished to challenge me. I know, I have been training myself on not only flower arrangement but also Pokémon battle. I shall not lose"
Erika starts off with her Jumpluff which Max takes down with Wing Attack. Max then takes down her Tangela, Victreebel and Bellossom with Fly.
"Oh! I concede defeat. You are remarkably strong, I shall give you the Rainbow Badge" Erika presents Glitchy the badge and TM19, "losing leaves a bitter aftertaste. But knowing that there are strong trainers spurs me to do better"
"Or we can have tea" Glitchy cheerfully suggests
One cup of tea later, Glitchy leaves Erika's gym.
