Byron POV

I pulled out the pennies and other coins and began to count them, when the door slammed open.

"Where's my sister?" Whit yelled

"Geeze, Whit, I thought you were my dad. Don't yell so loud. He'll hear." I said as I got on my knees and reached under the bed.

"Swain, if you pull out a walkie-talkie, I swear you'll see big brother bear coming out." He said.

"Relax, it's Wisty. I pushed her under the bed." I said as I pulled her out.

"Don't ever do that again, B.," Wisty growled, mad yet…playful? She dusted off her knees. "Ever"

"Sorry. Sorry Whit."

"Alright. Don't do that again." Whit grunted, turning to the door. "Say, 'bye' Wisty. Mom and Dad're home."

Wisty waits until Whit leaves, then grabs me by the shoulders and kisses me. On the lips. "Bye," she whispers, then walks away, leaving me stunned.
