The director yells, Cut! Beautiful people. Absolutely beautiful. That's a wrap for that segment. Let's move over to the photo shoot. Kerry, take an hour break, okay?" Kerry replies, okay John. Thanks, I will be in my dressing room." He nods, and Kerry smiles as she realizes she made it through the commercials, and nailed them in 6 takes. Her mind is otherwise engaged; but her professionalism will not allow her to fail at her job. Regardless of what's going on in her head; her face will not convey her racing thoughts and concerns.
She walks off the set, with a smile on her face, and takes her closed mug from her agent Robyn. Who greets her as they walk toward her dressing room. As they walk, Kerry sees the look on her agent's face, which tells her she has something on her mind. However, she waits until they are alone to address it. When they reach the dressing room Kerry closes the door, and asks, "What's wrong Robyn?" She replies, "What's going on with you and Tony?" After hearing the question, she realizes the phone Robyn is holding is hers.
She now understands, Tony has probably sent her a message indicating they are not in the best space right now. The pause causes Robyn to say, "Kerry, I need you to talk to me, and don't blow me off. I know a fake it till you make it when I see it." Kerry doesn't want to talk to her about this with her. Because she knows Robyn hasn't been the biggest fan of her and Tony's relationship over the years. She's lesser a fan club member than Shonda. Who is completely against them, but tolerates it because until now. They've been able to keep their situation under wraps.
Robyn sees her client, and friend in thought. She wants to be sensitive to her feelings. But she can't do much until she hears the whole story.
Kerry snaps out of her thoughts as she hears Robyn say, "Kerry, have a seat, and talk to me." She looks at Robyn, who is sitting next to her now, as they sit on the couch. She takes a deep breath, as she sits back on the couch, putting her feet up on the ottoman. Despite knowing Robyn's urging for her to talk. Kerry still falls back into her thoughts.
Kerry thought she could keep this from her. But no such luck. Damn Tony for sending a text, she thinks to herself. But how would he know Robyn had her phone? It's clearly not his fault. He was probably just checking on her. Their fight didn't end the best way. Before she left for work this morning.
Kerry feels Robyn's eyes on her. Yet she's still mulling over what she should say or do. She knows if she lies, it will just get worse. Robyn sees her stalling and prompts her by saying. "Come on Kerry. I can't help you if you don't talk to me. I know its Tony related. Are you two on the outs again? Becauseā¦." Kerry interjects and says, "Stop Robyn. Please, just stop!"
Robyn flashes her a smirk as she says, "Stop what Kerry? Did Tony do something wrong or not?" Kerry takes a sip of her hot tea, from her mug, and then takes a breath, as she says, "Yes and no." Robyn sighs as she says, "What does that mean?" Kerry responds, "I will tell you if you promise not to lose it."
She looks at Kerry, and sees the pleading in her eyes. She doesn't want to stress her out. She knows she still has to work today. Kerry prays she relents, and after a few seconds, she gets her wish. Robyn says, "Okay Kerry. Tell me what's going on, and I promise I won't completely flip out."
Kerry sits up, as she replies, "Okay, here's the deal." After explaining the issue that has her mind swirling. Robyn initially says, "Kerry, this can't be happening. I don't have to tell you how devastating this will be to your career, if people find out about you and Tony do I?" Kerry sighs as she responds in an annoyed tone, "No Robyn. We are fully aware of what's at stake here. So please spare me the doom and gloom speech."
Robyn angrily responds, "Doom and gloom speech. Really? So now it's just me that cares about your career? I didn't get that memo. I recall you at one time caring about the longevity of your career too. When did that change?"
The tension level in the room is now at an octave ten, and neither one of the ladies care at this point. As Kerry loudly replies, "You know what Robyn. You're my agent. Not my mother! So how about you do me a favor and stick to what I pay you to do? Kerry stands up angrily and walks into the bathroom to change her clothes.
Robyn drops her head in annoyance as the door slams. She didn't want to fight with her. But it's now a given. The fight is on. As she waits for Kerry to return from the bathroom. Through the door. She hears Kerry say, "I have enough stress in my life. I don't need you adding to it! Don't ask me questions if you can't even keep your own word. You said you wouldn't flip out. Not even five minutes ago. But yet, here we are. What the hell?"
Kerry is now changed into her robe, and standing in front of Robyn, who's standing up too. Robyn replies, "Kerry with all due respect. I think I've been more than an agent to you over the years, and I deserve a lot more credit than what you're giving me right now. Don't forget. I know the history. I am not new to this and neither are you. I am not flipping out. This is nothing compared to what I haven't said before. This is a complete mess. How can you be so calm about this? You're telling me you've been photographed with Tony, somebody in the cast is a snitch, and you don't know who it is. Are these not the facts?"
Kerry angrily replies, "Yes. Those are the facts Robyn. But what you don't realize is it's going to work out." Robyn curiously responds, "How do you know it's going to work out Kerry? What aren't you telling me?" She takes another drink of her tea, as she replies, "Because Tony is working on finding out all the details concerning the leak, and the pictures won't be published. He has a guy."
Robyn inquires, "What guy?" Kerry sighs as she sits down and responds, "Its better you don't know that part Robyn. Just know that he has the press covered. It's the main reason we have been able to be quiet for so long. That's why it's evident it's someone from the cast. Which is why I need you to relax until we find out more about this."
The tone in the room is settling. Robyn has to admit she's right. She agrees with her logic. It's likely someone from the cast. Remembering that she and Tony's relationship has been the best kept secret for so long, around Hollywood. Does cause her to relent, in her being so upset about the possibility of the news getting out.
Kerry sees Robyn in thought, and finds herself calming down in the silence as she watches her do the same. They don't fight often. But when they do. It's always about Tony. Kerry knows she doesn't thank her enough for having her back, and she should. She feels a sense of guilt wash over her.
At the same time Robyn, sorts through her emotions and knows she needs to apologize for her approach. She doesn't like her and Tony's situation. But she also knows Kerry loves him, and no amount of feuding with her about their situation, is going to change anything.
After they both allow the quiet, to wash away their emotions, calmness engulfs the room, and opens the door for them to speak. Robyn sees the stress the conversation is taking on Kerry, and says, "Kerry, I am very sorry for getting angry with you, and yelling at you about this. It's just that I know how hard you've worked to protect your image, and your career, and I don't want you to do anything that could compromise your hard work. Your career is booming, and you deserve all of the benefits that come along with a blossoming career. But you're right it's your career, and I am your agent. But I'd like to think of us as friends too. So please understand I am coming from a good place."
Kerry feels her response, and knows it's genuine. She smiles at her as she replies, "Thanks Robyn, I know you mean well, and I appreciate your concern for me and my career. You're also right. You're more than just my agent. I am sorry for saying that to you. I do consider you a good friend too. But I need you to understand that my relationship with Tony is also important, and I am becoming more confident. I will be able to have both a successful career and love. That's what's different now."
Robyn replies, "What?" Kerry smiles as she says, "You asked me what's changed concerning my career and I never answered you. What's changed is that I want to include my relationship with Tony into my career. It's different this time Robyn. I can feel it. Something special is on the horizon for us this time."
