"So Colby should be making it to town next Wednesday." I tell Randy.
"Okay. That's good." Randy says. "Do we need to pick him up from the airport?"
"I was going to. You can come with me if you want."
"Okay. I'll go with you. It'll give me a head start on harassing the kid."
I laugh. "Okay."
Ted stands in the doorway. "I just picked up the stuff for Cody's birthday next week. Do you want me to hide it in the closet in mine and Ryse's room?"
"Yes." Randy says. "Thanks, Ted."
"No problem." Ted smiles before heading to his room.
Randy and I walk down to the basement to check the safe again. He opens the safe.
"How's it looking?" I ask.
"Well…" Randy says. "I think we're missing a couple more thousand dollars."
"Damn it. We've gotta do something."
"Yeah…I'm changing the code to open the safe door."
"To what?"
"Our anniversary. It's Alanna's birthday right now. Maybe the thief won't get the new code."
"Hopefully."
"Okay. It's done."
"Good. This is ridiculous."
"I know. I think we should report it to the police."
"I think you're right about that."
"Maybe they'll be able to help us catch the thief."
"They should."
"When do you want to file a police report?"
"As soon as possible."
"We could now. Wanna head to the police station?"
"Yeah."
We head back upstairs. We put on shoes before walking towards the front door.
Randy looks at Ted before we walk out the door. "Rissa and I are running a few errands. We will be back in a couple hours."
"Okay." Ted says.
Randy and I leave to head to the police station.
I walk into the police station with Randy right at my side. He grabs my hand and gives it a squeeze. We walk up to the front desk.
"Mr and Mrs Orton," The woman at the front desk says. "To what do we owe the pleasure?"
Randy sighs. "We need to file a police report."
"Okay. Just sit down over there and we will call you back when someone is open to speak with you."
"Okay. Thank you."
Randy and I sit down in chairs.
"I'm so pissed." Randy whispers.
"Me too." I say as I put my hand on his knee. "But it'll be okay."
"I sure hope so, Rissa. Because I don't know what I'm gonna do if it's not."
An officer walks up to us. "Mr and Mrs Orton? I'm Officer Nickel. I hear you need to file a police report."
Randy nods. "Yeah."
"Then follow me."
We walk into a private room and sit down. Officer Nickel shuts the door behind us and sits down across from us.
"Okay," Officer Nickel says. "I need you to explain to me what has happened with as much detail as possible."
"Okay." Randy says. "Obviously, Rissa and I are professional wrestlers. So we have quite a significant amount of money. I decided when Rissa and I started dating a couple years ago that I was going to put some of my finances in a safe in the basement. Rissa has been unaware until recently when I decided to show her. I was putting this money off to the side for her and our children. When I decided to show it to her a couple weeks ago, I checked the money and discovered that twenty-five thousand dollars are missing."
Officer Nickel nods. "Do you remember what day this was?"
"June 8."
Officer Nickel writes something down. "Okay. Continue."
"So we enlisted the help of my brother to go through the security footage from our camera to find any suspicious activity. He found footage being cut off then footage coming back a couple times on June 7. We believe this is when the money was stolen. We found that more money is missing this morning."
"How much more?"
"Two thousand."
"Okay. This police report will be filed. Will you allow us to have access to your security footage?"
Randy smiles. "Absolutely. Thanks, Officer."
"Just doing my job."
Randy and I get back home. I lay on the bed while he is going through some files.
"What are you looking for?" I ask.
Randy smiles. "Just an envelope…found it."
"What's in it?"
"Some extra money. Enough to pay for a trip to Disney World."
I smile. "I've never been so thankful for your tendency to hide money."
"Me either."
"Randy, what's the plan now?"
"Find the thief, Disney World, and then the honeymoon we never got."
I smile. "Okay."
He lays next to me. "We should kick Cami and Tyler out."
"Can it wait till after Colby visits? He'll want to see Tyler too."
"Okay."
Cami and Tyler walk in as everyone else is eating dinner.
"Did you save us food?" Cami asks snidely.
"We were unaware that you were going to be here to eat." I say.
"So? I should still have been considered."
"Why? You talk shit about me and the girls. You yelled at Randy over the phone. You bitch about the food anyway. And you work most nights anyway. Now, shut up before your ass is out of here."
"Rissa-" Tyler says.
"That goes for both of you."
Cami and Tyler quietly go upstairs.
Randy smiles. "Just a fair warning because you're staying with us. You all have a pretty high chance of getting called to the police station to provide alibis."
"For what?" Cody asks.
"Randy and I filed a police report finally." I say.
"Good." Ted says.
"Hopefully you find out who did it." Chelle says.
"Hopefully." I say.
"What are you going to do about Tyler and Cami?" Eve asks.
"Probably kick them out after Colby leaves." Randy answers.
"Why haven't you kicked them out already?" John asks.
"Because I'm trying to give Tyler a chance to be nice since he's family." I say.
"I understand your point, but he's been really shitty towards you and Randy. And it's likely he or Cami stole the money."
I sigh. "I see your point, John. I plan on kicking them out after Colby leaves. I don't want him to deal with family drama."
"I hope you can deal with it until then."
