Jason's POV:
You were probably wondering why I didn't propose to Piper at the spot in the woods. You have the right reason to wonder, because like you, I seem to be mad at the author for that decision.
I decided to ask her today at our date. Hopefully that lives up to your expectations unless the freaking author of mine decides to make any changes. [No Jason, there will not be any changes to your plans.]
I was about to leave my empty cabin, when I hear Leo calling out "Ohhhh, Sparkyyyy"
"Yes, Leo"
"Aren't you forgetting something?"
"No, wait if it is about the proposal then no I didn't yet."
Just then, Piper comes around and asks "what did you not do yet?"
"Oh, it's the job assigning day today, and I'm telling Leo here that I didn't go yet" I quickly responded while giving a quick death glare to Leo.
"Well, good luck Sparky!" Piper says and gives me a quick kiss. "See you at the stables?"
"Alright, I will" We kiss again and she leaves me with Leo grinning.
"Leo, put the cat in the sack man! How would you feel if I gave away the news about your proposal to Calypso then?"
He seemed as if he was gonna retort but decided to keep quiet. But he being Leo, he retorts "Well, you can't do that anymore because we are already married."
I glared at him "Anyways dude what job did you get assigned to?"
"I didn't, I told Chiron that my mechanical shop is about the same contact I would have with the mortal world as any of the jobs he offered."
"That's good to know man. Is your shop open today?"
"Of course it is, Sparky"
"Well, I need my car fixed, so I will drop it off there at 3:00?"
"Anytime is good" then he marches off to his car.
You might be totally clueless with this job thing. Don't worry I will fill you in.
Okay, so it started about a month back after Annabeth completed her construction of the city for the demigods to live in. Chiron and Percy came up with this keep up with the mortal world and earn money for the future family plan. Basically, every demigod was assigned an apartment if they were planning on going to college. If they were not they stayed at camp. They could continue to stay at the apartment even after the completion of their studies. But, the demigods who marry will be allotted homes if they want to stay within Camp Half-Blood. There are about 20 neighborhoods in which about 6 are filled now. The neighborhoods will expands as population grows. So, this will keep the Athenian kids busy. Now, the jobs. Demigods will be assigned jobs in the outside world, if they wish. And since Piper always wanted a normal life, we decided to go for the jobs. You will be given a job based on your specialty. So for me it would be something related to air, sky, you get the point. A job means money and those who wished to live outside will be able to spend it on housing, outing and such things. Basically, it helps the future family.
Now, let's make our way to the Big House. I see Chiron handing out papers to many people. When I get mine, it states that I am given a job as a pilot. It might throw you off that I am given a job without having any expertise on flying planes. Well, Chiron pulled some strings for training and made it suitable to our powers. So it is completely safe for me to fly a plane with my powers and training skills from the mortal world and safe for those who will be on the plane ;)
After the job assignment, I went to the stables to meet Piper. She greets me with a kiss, this longer. I wanted to make it longer, but we have to clean the stables.
"Hello to you too Pipes" she blushes and I can't help but smile at that sight.
"Hello Jace, now tell me what did you get?"
"Huhh?...Oh..Pilot! What about you?"
"Journalist"
"That's great pipes!" We started talking about the jobs and housing while cleaning the stables.
"Jason?"
"Yeah"
"You still didn't tell me why you texted me yesterday..."
"Oh...well, you see, wait, my phone seems to be buzzing" I act as if my phone was buzzing and act like as if I was talking. I say a quick sorry and tell her that I have to leave to Leo's mechanical shop. I give her a peck on the cheek and run.
She yells "Don't forget about the fireworks Mr. Lightening"
I yelled back "Alright" and rushed to the big house before she gets suspicious with my behavior.
I know it's not a long chapter. But, I trieddddd. I promise many of the chapters will be long. I published two chapters this week, so don't expect any until next week, unless maybe..hmmm...(muttering to myself: unless I publish another tomorrow.) But, don't get your hopes up. To those Caleo fans out there, expect a surprise in chapter 4.
