James Ironwood was waiting outside Atlas Academy waiting.
He had been waiting only ten minutes before Jason and Weiss appeared from a shadow.
"Mr. Todd." He nodded. "Miss Schnee."
"General." Jason and Weiss said in unison.
"Miss Schnee. Why don't you take Mr. Todd to see the others?"
"Yes." Weiss said grabbing Jason's hand. "Come on."
When Jason and Weiss were gone James looked towards Schnee Manor. "Oh Jacques. What have you done?"
Weiss led Jason towards the infirmary. "Come on." She said with a smile that reached her eyes for the first time since the Fall of Beacon.
Jason let Weiss led him to the back of the infirmary trusting that she wouldn't let him bump into anything.
Weiss stood outside Geoff's door. "Okay." She said looking at Jason's face covered by his helmet. "So, we are going to get him then meet..."
"Do you mean Geoff and Pyrrha?" Jason asked.
"Yeah." Weiss said impressed. "How did you know?"
"I can smell them."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I trained my senses so I can use them independently."
"Oh. Okay." Weiss said before knocking on the door.
"Come." Geoff said in an annoyed Irish accent.
"Is that anyway to talk to friends?" Weiss asked walking into Geoff's room.
"Oh. Sorry Weiss, Pyrrha." Geoff said.
"As much as I appreciate the compliment." Jason said. "I'm not sure how I feel about being compared to Pyrrha."
Geoff turned around in awe. "Jason?" He asked.
"Yup." Jason said. "It's me."
Geoff ran to Jason and hugged him. "How are you? How is everyone else? How is Beacon?"
"He'll tell us when we are with Pyrrha." Weiss said.
"Then let's go."
They walked over to Pyrrha's room.
Weiss knocked on Pyrrha's door.
They only had to wait a few seconds before Pyrrha opened the door.
"Hello Weiss." Pyrrha said.
Weiss walked into Pyrrha's room.
"Hi Geoff." Pyrrha said.
"Hello lass." Geoff said walking in.
Pyrrha looked up at Jason.
Jason could hear Pyrrha's heartrate increase. "Is everything okay?" He asked forgetting about his mask.
"Pyrrha has amnesia." Weiss said. "Maybe you should take off your helmet."
"That's not a good idea right now." Jason said.
Weiss walked over to Pyrrha and put her arm around her shoulder. "Hey. You know him." She scrolled through her pictures until she found a picture with JNPR and Jason. "See. You are friends."
"O-okay." Pyrrha said.
"Can I come in?" Jason asked.
"Yes." Weiss said. "Come in."
Jason walked in and clicked his tongue, creating a rough image of the room. He saw an armchair in the corner. He walked over and sat down.
"Maybe you should take your helmet off." Geoff said. "Maybe seeing your face will spark something in Pyrrha's memories."
"It probably won't." Jason said. He felt his hands shaking.
"Jason?" Weiss asked. "Are you okay?"
"Just having some trouble with my helmet." He spoke. He was glad his mask had a voice modulator in it because he was sure that his voice would be shaking.
Weiss reached up and hit the release on Jason's helmet. There was a hiss, and the helmet split in the back. Weiss pulled the helmet off and looked at Jason's face.
Jason heard his helmet hit the ground, and Weiss gasp followed by Geoff and Pyrrha. He felt Weiss's hands brush against the side of his face. "What happened?" Weiss asked, her voice breaking.
Jason heaved a heavy sigh. "You might want to sit down." He spoke.
Weiss sat down next to Pyrrha.
Jason took a deep breath. He told the trio about the Deaths of Team JADE, and the fight with Cinder. How he woke up and let Torchwick and Neo politan go. How they made their way to patch, and how he and Scott began clearing Beacon. He told them how he almost killed himself by not eating, and how he met Violet again. He told them how Coral nursed him back to health before he left to let Team JADE's families know about their loss, and how Violet followed him.
When Jason told them about the 'Dominators' Geoff perked up hoping he might be able to look at them.
Jason took the 'Dominators' out of his Prosthetics and held them out for Geoff, who took them eagerly.
Jason continued his story about how they talked to Embers family before he told them about Damian's family. He told them about his training with Bruce, and how he got rid of his Mindscape, and made amends with Red before his mind healed. He told them about Violet disappearing. How he followed her scent and how he found her.
Weiss and Pyrrha gasped in horror.
Geoff dropped one of the 'Dominators' in his shock.
Jason could sense the sadness in the room. He told them what Rhea told him, and he heard the dam break, and Weiss began crying followed by Pyrrha and Geoff. He continued by telling them about his fight with Talia, and how she took his eyes.
Weiss put her hand to her mouth and sobbed.
Jason continued telling them about how he knocked Ra's down, and unknowingly took his Semblance, before he passed out and woke up in Tai's house in Patch. He told them about Summer being alive, and what Tai told him Doctor Green told him, and how devastated he was, but how that paled when Violet asked for his permission to die, and he let her go.
Weiss got up and hugged Jason tightly. "I am so sorry." she sobbed.
Jason hugged her and continued his story. Telling them how they buried Violet, and how Grimm attacked the funeral, but they fought the Grimm off. He told them about his training so that he could get around without his eyes, and how he started to train to fight again. He finally told them about the day before how he'd been given 'Crimson Storm' and Adam Taurus's Scabbard, how Coral had repainted it, and told him to rename it. He ended by showing them 'Scarlet Sunrise'.
"So, what was Ra's Semblance?" Geoff asked wiping his face and sniffing.
"Lazarus. It basically made him immortal."
"So, yer saying that yer immortal?"
"In a manner of speaking. So long as my body isn't destroyed, I can recover from any wound. It will take time based on the extent of the wound."
"What's wrong with you?" Weiss asked. "He lost his Team and one of his sisters. How can you be asking questions like that?"
"I don' know lass. I was just trying to change the subject."
"As much as I appreciate that it's not what he needs."
Weiss left Jason and he heard the door to the room lock.
Slowly Jason reached for 'Scarlet', but Weiss grabbed his hand and held it. "You're safe. You're among friends. We're here for you."
"Thank you?" Jason said confused.
"You haven't taken the time to properly mourn." Weiss said. "We are here for you. You can let go of 'Red' and the Red Hood and just be Jason.
Jason hadn't let his barriers down the way that Weiss wanted him to in a long time.
"Don' worry." Geoff said. "We aren't going to tell anyone."
Pyrrha wasn't sure what to say. Weiss, her friend, told her that she knew this person, but she couldn't remember him. She felt that she had to say something though. "If Weiss says that you are safe then you are safe." She said sheepishly.
At that, three Shadow clones appeared from the Shadows and watched.
Slowly Jason let his barriers fall around him, and he found himself getting sad, and eventually he felt tears rolling down his face.
Weiss watched as Jason cried, and mourned the loss of his Team, and Violet, and couldn't help but cry too. She hugged Jason and offered him her support.
Jason didn't just cry for his friends and Violet, this time he mourned them, and one by one his Shadow clones of Shira, Loki, and Amber disappeared.
Weiss noticed the moment that Jason fell asleep and held her right index finger to her lips urging for silence.
One by one the trio fell asleep not wanting to wake their friend.
The next morning.
When Jason woke up, he could smell Weiss, Pyrrha, and Geoff, but he also smelled another individual. He reached for 'Scarlet', but the individual made their presence known.
"Please do not be alarmed." Winter Schnee whispered urgently.
Jason calmed down and processed what his senses told him.
He clicked his tongue and was given a rough image of the room.
On the bed Pyrrha was sleeping soundly. Leaning against the wall Geoff was snoring softly, in fact if he didn't have his hearing then he wouldn't have been able to hear it. Winter was standing in the doorway of the room and was looking in his general direction.
He felt a weight on his shoulder and looked over to see Weiss sleeping next to him. He wished that he could see her one last time with his own eyes before Talia took them.
"Are you here to take Weiss away from our fathers influence?" Winter whispered so low that Jason didn't know if it was a question or a stray thought.
Jason nodded.
"What are you going to do to Jacques?"
Jason was about to answer when Pyrrha shifted in her bed before she got up and stretched.
Pyrrha looked around the room and saw Jason. She felt uncomfortable looking into his face. His eyes, or lack of eyes, made her feel like she was looking into an abyss. Then she looked towards the door and saw someone that she thought she recognized but couldn't place them. "H-hello." She said meekly.
"Good morning Miss Nikos." Winter said. "How did you sleep?"
"I slept okay, though I had an unusual dream."
"Would you like to talk about it?"
"Um. I don't know."
"You don't have to if you don't want to."
"I was standing in a tower of some kind. There was a man and woman fighting. The man was winning the fight and threw the woman out an open window before there was a flash of white light, and I fell. Then I woke up."
"That was a memory." Jason's voice rang through the air. "You were remembering the Fall of Beacon. Though you are remembering it a little out of context. The woman you saw was named Cinder Fall. She killed another woman to gain power, but she only took half of it. The Headmaster at Beacon had a contingency for that. When Cinder attacked five of us went to attack her. One of them was killed, three of them were injured, and the other was left heartbroken."
"Were you one of them?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yes. I fought Cinder. I was the one who threw her out the window."
"Why?"
"She destroyed my school, she endangered my family, and she killed my friends." Jason said darkly.
"Who were the others?" Pyrrha asked.
"There was Ember, you, Geoff, and Jaune."
At the mention of Jaune's name Pyrrha felt something. She remembered something. A dark room underground. "Will you marry me!" Someone asked.
"Are you okay Pyrrha?" Jason asked.
"I feel like I should remember something." Pyrrha said. "Something really important. It has to do with Jaune"
"Is it that you two were together?"
"Maybe. I'm not sure, but its right there on the edge of remembering."
"Was it the fact that Jaune was going to propose?"
"Yes. I remember saying yes. I remember..." Pyrrha put her hands on her head and thought hard. "I remember saying Yes, and, and... RAHG!" She yelled waking Geoff and Weiss up. "Why can't I remember?"
Jason created a Shadow Clone of Jaune who walked over to Pyrrha's bed.
'Hi Pyrrha.' Jaune said.
Pyrrha looked up startled and saw Jaune. She remembered dancing with Jaune, who was wearing a dress, and helping him train, and going on dates with him. She remembered him brushing her hair once or twice when she didn't know what to do with it or was too tired to put it up. She remembered how they had fallen asleep while reading a good book wrapped in a blanket during a storm. She remembered him following her, and proposing to her, and she said yes. One of the happiest moments of her life, and she had almost forgotten it, then she remembered getting into the pod and it all went blank.
"Hello Jaune." She spoke.
"Pyrrha?" Weiss asked. "What do you remember?"
"I remember mostly what Jaune and I have done."
"What about them?" Jason asked creating Shadow clones of Ren and Nora.
Pyrrha looked at her other two Teammates. She remembered Nora licking her awake after having too much sugar and apologizing later. She remembered Ren yelling at her and Jaune for telling Nora that she couldn't keep asking Ren to make pancakes or stay up with her when she had a nightmare. It was one of the few times she saw Ren get mad, like really mad.
Jason created Shadow clones of all of their friends, and with each one Pyrrha remembered more until... "I remember my time at Beacon."
"Is that it?" Weiss asked.
"Yes. I remember my time at Beacon, but I can't remember anything other than what Weiss has shown me on her scroll. I have seen every tournament fight or practice fight ever recorded. I have seen the Pumpkin Pete's commercial, and tried it, I honestly don't recommend it. It's not very good."
"And it doesn't even taste like Pumpkin." Geoff complained.
The group looked at him.
"How can they sell a product that lies about the taste of said product?" Geoff asked.
They started laughing.
After the much-needed laugh Winter began speaking.
"Well, I assume that you all have responsibilities that you must attend to."
"I need to do some shopping then do some training." Jason said getting up. "If you all don't have anything to do, I could use your help, and before I forget." He took out some cards. "Here you go."
Geoff and Pyrrha walked up to Jason and took one of the cards.
"Ye didn't have to do this, whatever it is." Geoff said.
"It's a thank you, Birthday, Christmas gift. I wasn't sure when I would see you guys next, so I figured that I would give you this when I saw you guys next."
Weiss walked over to Winter and gave hers to her sister. "I have the card that Jason gave me, so I don't need it... If that's okay." She asked Jason.
"No. Not at all."
The group got showered and changed.
Weiss knocked on the door to the dorm room that General Ironwood had given Jason. "Jason? Are you ready to go?"
"Not yet." Jason said.
"Are you decent?"
"If you mean 'do I have pants on' then yes."
Weiss opened the door, and saw Jason standing in the center of his dorm room with 'Scarlet Sunrise' in his hand, and no shirt on.
"What are..." Weiss was shocked at the scars on Jason's bare back. "Was that from Talia?"
"Yes. Her poison kept me from healing."
"What was it like?"
"It burned. I remember the feeling of my eyes burning, and the poison coursing through my veins. I remember the exact moment her poison killed me."
"So, you died?"
"Yes, but thanks to my taking the Lazarus ability in the nick of time I survived."
"I guess I should be happy that you're alive."
"Yeah. I also have been putting off getting dressed for another reason."
"Why's that?"
"I am waiting for my shirt to dry."
"Shirt? As in singular?"
"Yeah." Jason said a little embarrassed. "It's my favorite shirt."
"We are taking you shopping." Weiss said before her scroll went off.
There was a knock on the door, and a Faunus girl with a kangaroo mouse tail entered. "Here's your laundry sir."
"Thank you." Jason said. "I thought that I asked someone to call me when it was done."
"I'm afraid that it's my job to distribute the laundry."
"Why?"
"Faunus in Atlas can't get jobs like humans. We are forced to work in low paying jobs where we have to work harder and longer than humans in order to make half of the amount of pay. Or we end up in the brothels down in Mantel."
Jason felt his blood start to boil.
"I'm sorry sir." The Faunus girl said. "I didn't mean to step out of line. Please don't report me."
"You don't have to worry." Jason said. "I stand for Faunus rights."
"Thank you."
"Would you like a better job?" Jason asked.
"Where could I get a better job though?"
"I will have a place that will need tending. You would be free to make your own decisions, you would have room and board, and you wouldn't have to worry."
"How can I trust you?" She asked.
"I am a Faunus too. My Faunus trait was my eyes."
"Did a human take them?"
"No. Another Faunus took them."
"JASON!" Weiss interrupted. "It's Whitley."
"What about him?"
"He's been kidnapped and is being held for ransom."
"Why do you care?"
"He's fifteen!" Weiss cried. "He might be a brat, but that's because Jacques is his role model. Please." She pleaded. "He doesn't deserve to die for the crime of being Jacques son."
Jason wiped his face. "Grab 'Myrtenaster'." He said grabbing 'Scarlet Sunrise' and putting it on his belt.
Weiss grabbed 'Myrtenaster' and followed Jason.
"Where is he?" Jason asked.
"The Schnee dust mines."
Jason could hear the fear in Weiss's voice. He picked her up, and they disappeared into the shadows.
Whitley looked up at the Faunus who had kidnapped him. "You'll never get away with this." He said in an arrogant tone.
"Why not?" The first Faunus, a man with a lizard tail, asked.
"Because my father will reign vengeance down upon you."
"Yeah right." The second Faunus, a woman with scales covering her exposed flesh, said with a snort. "Your father doesn't care. If he does then he will pay the ransom."
"Then he will pay the ransom." Whitley said in a confident tone, but deep down he wasn't sure.
The lizard Faunus took out a scroll and dialed Jacques Schnee's number.
"Hello?" Jacques asked.
"We have your son." The Lizard Faunus said. "If you ever want to see him alive again then you will meet our demands."
"What are your demands?" Jacques asked cautiously.
"We want you to give your Faunus workers better pay, better working conditions, and benefits."
"Are you sure that you wouldn't want money?" Jacques asked.
"No. We want Faunus rights."
"I am sorry, but I cannot meet your demands."
"We will kill your son!" The Lizard Faunus yelled.
"I still have my daughter to run my company." Jacques said before hanging up.
The two Faunus looked at each other before looking at Whitley.
"What did we tell you?" The female Faunus said. "Your father doesn't care about you"
Whitley had been stunned into silence by his father's words.
"I think we broke him." The Lizard Faunus said with a smile.
Jason and Weiss appeared outside the Schnee Dust Mines.
"What happened?" Jason asked loudly.
"Stay back sir." An Atlas Police officer said.
"Tell him what happened?" Weiss said.
"Miss Schnee." The officer straightened.
"Forget the formalities. Just tell us what happened."
"Your brother was taken inside. There are at least a dozen Faunus in there."
"We need to go." Jason said.
"Sir. I can't let you."
"I'm sorry." Weiss said. "But we will be going inside now." She said taking Jason's hand.
Jason picked Weiss up and they disappeared into the shadows.
"What the?" The officer said surprised.
Jason and Weiss appeared outside the mine.
Jason dropped to a knee.
"Yes." Weiss said in a voice that was trying to hide her fear.
"What?"
"I said yes. You dropped to a knee, and I said yes."
Jason thought about that. "Oh. Then I guess that I need to get a ring to make it official?"
"Yeah." Weiss said, her voice shaking even more now.
"We will get your brother back. Don't worry."
Weiss felt better after that.
Jason listened to the mine. "There are a dozen people in there. They all have weapons, but they are not Dust weapons."
"So, they don't have mecha-shift technology. That doesn't make our job any easier."
"No, but we should be able to take them."
Weiss drew 'Myrtenaster', and Jason drew 'Scarlet'.
The two moved into the mine and made their way through it.
A figure jumped from the shadow and attacked Jason with a pickaxe.
Jason blocked with the flat edge of 'Scarlet' and pushed back before he noticed that he'd been hit. He wiped his hand across his chest and felt something wet. 'Damn.' He swore.
"Ha, Ha." The figure laughed. "First blood."
"Means nothing." Jason said. "If you leave now, I won't kill you, and you can leave without fear of..."
The figure swung at Jason, but Jason caught the pickaxe with his hand.
He felt the pick puncture his palm and pushed against the figure.
"What the hell!" The figure said shocked.
"I gave you the chance to leave, and you squandered it. Rest in pieces." Jason said before cutting the figure in half.
Weiss watched as Jason fought the Rat Faunus. She gasped when Jason wiped his chest.
"Ha, Ha." The Rat Faunus laughed. "First Blood."
"Means nothing." Jason said. "If you leave now, I won't kill you, and you can leave without fear of..."
The Faunus swung at Jason, but Jason caught the pickaxe with his hand.
Weiss saw the pick puncture Jason's palm, and held her hand to her mouth, but didn't scream because it might have cost Jason the fight. She watched Jason push against the Faunus.
"What the hell!" The Faunus said in shock.
"I gave you the chance to leave, and you squandered it." Jason said. "Rest in pieces." He said before cutting the Faunus in half.
Weiss turned away before she lost the contents of her stomach.
Jason pulled the head of the pickaxe out of his hand and dropped it. "Sorry if I scared you."
"You cut him in half."
"I guess that it was a little aggressive."
Weiss was about to say something when they were surrounded by eight more figures.
"Jason." Weiss said cautiously.
"Yeah. I hear them."
"No. They are all Faunus."
"Oh. Cover your ears."
Weiss did as she was told, and Jason let out an Alpha pulse that reverberated through the mine.
The Faunus fell to the floor grabbing their ears.
"Listen here." Jason said. "If you leave now that will be the end of it. I won't find you; I won't kill you. You will be free to go on your way, but if you don't, I will not hold back."
"We just want better working conditions!" A Faunus yelled.
"What?" Weiss asked.
"The working conditions are horrible." A chipmunk Faunus said. "We work twelve-hour days seven days a week for almost nothing. We don't get days off if we get sick then we get docked pay. If we do get sick, we have to decide if we want to go to the doctor or pay rent or buy food."
"That's horrible." Weiss said.
"We only want better lives."
"Jason?" Weiss asked with tears in her eyes. "What are we going to do?"
Jason sheathed 'Scarlet'. "I'm sorry." He spoke. "I didn't mean to do that."
"My entire family has to work." A female deer Faunus said. "My youngest is ten."
Jason growled. "What the hell Jacques."
"Do you know Jacques Schnee?" A Racoon Faunus asked.
"He's my Business rival. It might be time for a hostile takeover."
"We need to get Whitley." Weiss said.
"Where is Whitley Schnee?"
"He's down that way." The Racoon Faunus said. "You need to be careful though. That tunnel is about to collapse."
"Stay here." Jason Said to Weiss. "I'll get Whitley." Jason turned to the Faunus. "If anything happens to Weiss, I will be very angry."
The Faunus nodded, and Jason went down the tunnel.
Jason had been walking maybe five minutes before he felt an opening. He listened and heard two voices.
"I think we broke him." A male voice said in amusement.
Jason walked through the cave.
"What are we going to do with him?" A female voice asked.
"How about you let him go?" Jason suggested.
"What the hell?" The male said startled.
"Who are you?" The female asked.
"I'm the guy who is going to give you a choice. You can let him go, or I will take him."
Whitley blinked out of his stupor. "Father no!" He yelled.
The cave began shaking, and a Stalactite fell from the ceiling.
Jason pushed off the ground and kicked the Stalactite away from Whitley.
Whitley looked up at the red bat symbol on his savior's chest before looking into the hallow eyes of Jason.
"Run through that tunnel!" Jason yelled. "Weiss is waiting for you on the other side."
Whitley nodded and ran.
"Get back here!" The woman yelled.
Jason blocked her path. "No. I know that you want better working conditions. Let me help you. I can't promise immediate results, but I will get results."
"Do you want to die in this cave?" The woman asked.
"No, but I will if it will stop you from unnecessary bloodshed."
The woman charged Jason, but she was stopped by a Katana hilt hitting her in the face.
Jason caught 'Scarlet' by the hilt and let the crimson blade shine in the light from the lanterns.
"Who are you?" The woman asked.
"I... Am the Alpha." Jason said. He liked the way that rolled off his tongue.
"The what?" The man asked before jumping at Jason.
Jason swung 'Scarlet' and cut his hand off.
"AAHHH!" The man yelled in agony and grabbed his hand in pain causing the cavern to shake.
"NNOOO!" The woman yelled causing the cavern to shake even more.
The ceiling began to fall.
Jason looked around the cavern trying to find the way he came in. The cave was shaking so bad that Jason couldn't see.
"Jason!" Weiss yelled.
'What the hell is she doing here?' Jason thought. 'It's too dangerous.'
"Jason! Follow my voice!"
Jason ran towards Weiss's voice, and grabbed her when she grabbed his arm. He picked her up and used his Semblance to travel through the shadows towards the main tunnel.
The ceiling collapsed and pinned Jason's legs under it.
Jason pushed Weiss through the rest of the tunnel by the shadows.
When Weiss rolled out of the tunnel, she was shocked. She looked around for Jason. When she didn't see him, she looked towards the tunnel. "JASON!" She yelled.
Jason was trapped under the rock and couldn't move around to budge it and started to panic. 'Come on, come on, come on.' He thought.
He remembered that he had the 'Dominators', and he reached for them, but they were stuck. 'Damn it!' He swore.
"JASON!" He heard Weiss yell.
He thought about it and remembered his boosters. He powered up his boosters, but they failed. "No, no, no." He spoke. He needed to get out of there.
He activated his Aura and hit the rock. It didn't budge. He couldn't get the leverage to break it.
He felt the air thicken, and his lungs tighten. 'No, no, no. Not like this.' He activated his Aura again and slammed both fists into the rock. He heard a crack, but the rock still didn't break. He tried it again, and there was a second crack. The rock still didn't break. 'How thick is this rock?'
He needed to turn around... somehow. He twisted around but felt pain in his kneecap.
"Jason." The Alpha said. "Increase the Aura around your body. You might be able to lift it up just enough to get out."
Jason activated his Aura covering his body and felt the rock lift an inch. He tried to slide out but dragged the rock with him. 'It's no use.'
"Try it again and use your boosters."
Jason tried again and activated his boosters.
The rock went flying back, and Jason went flying forward.
Jason tried to stand up but realized that he couldn't. He looked down and saw that the feet of his Prosthetics were gone. "No! No, no, no, no." Jason said. "Not again."
He began crawling towards the entrance. 'Got to get out.' He mumbled.
Weiss was watching the cave anxiously. Did she go into the cave, and try to help, or did she stay there?
She heard several sounds coming from the cave before she heard an explosion followed by a series of 'No's' coming from the cave. "Jason." She whispered.
After a few minutes of bated breath, they saw a hand reach out of the cave.
Weiss ran to the hand and tried pulling the owner out.
Weiss saw that it was Jason and began pulling harder. "HELP!" She called.
To her shock Whitley came up to help her.
The siblings pulled Jason out of the cave while Jason used his other hand to crawl out and saw the damage to his legs.
"No!" Weiss said.
Jason coughed. "Don't worry Weiss. I'll repair them."
"Are you hurt anywhere else?" She asked.
"I don't think so. I think I got off lucky."
"Lucky?" Whitley asked skeptically. "Your feet got ripped off. How is that lucky"
" He could have died." Weiss said relief filling her voice.
"Let's get out of here." Jason said activating his Semblance, creating a shadow clone of Loki. "Think you can carry me out of here?"
'You insult me.' Loki said picking Jason up, and carrying him out of the mine.
When they walked out of the mine they were mobbed by reporters, and the Faunus were arrested.
"No!" Weiss yelled. "Let them go!"
"Miss Schnee!" A reporter yelled. "Did the Faunus kidnap you too?"
"Miss Schnee!" Another reporter yelled. "Were you hurt?"
"Miss Schnee!" A third reporter yelled. "Who is the young man being carried away, and what happened to his legs?"
"Mr. Schnee!" A female reporter yelled. "What was it like being held hostage by rabid Faunus?"
The reporters were cut off by a group of people surrounding them.
Once they were away from the mob Weiss sighed a heavy sigh. "Thank you." She spoke.
"You're welcome." General Ironwood said.
Weiss looked up. "G-General." She said shocked.
"Let's get you back to the Academy."
When they got back to the Academy they were taken to the infirmary.
"We saw the news." Geoff said angrily. "Is it true tha' the Faunus had nothing ta do wit it?"
"Yes." Weiss said. "All they wanted was better working conditions, and now they will be thrown in prison or killed."
"That's terrible." Pyrrha said.
"Hey Geoff." Jason said from his bed. "Know of any way to fix my legs?"
"I know just the man." Geoff said. "But we will need ta take ye ta Mantle."
The trio were about to move Jason when General Ironwood walked into the infirmary with two very familiar faces followed by a man in a robotic walker.
"Pietro." Geoff said in surprise.
"Geoff." Pietro nodded his head.
"Blast yer luck!" A very irate Viridian yelled when he saw the state of Jason's legs. "How in the hell did Ye manage to break them this time?"
"I got caught in a cave in." Jason said sheepishly.
"Why the hell were Ye in a cave in?"
"I was helping Weiss save her brother."
"Oh. Well, what the hell was he doing in the cave?"
"He was taken hostage in an attempt to get better working conditions for Faunus laborers." Jason and Weiss said in unison.
"Faunus?" Viridian asked.
"Yeah." Jason said solemnly.
"Wait." Weiss said. "How did you get here?"
"We walked." Viridian said matter of factly.
"Okay. Why are you here?"
"I have a house here that would make an excellent home for Master Jason and his friends." Cliff said. "That is while we wait for the home in Vale to be repaired."
"First things first." Viridian growled. "We need ta repair Jason's legs... again."
"I damaged them saving Whitley."
"Who's Whitley?"
"That would be him, my little brother." Weiss said pushing Whitley in front of her.
"Are you the one who pesters Weiss?" Cliff asked.
Whitley hid behind Weiss.
"I will not blame you, but from this point you should respect her. Especially after what she and Jason did for you."
Whitley didn't answer.
"Hey!" Viridian said harshly. " Say something! Why isn't he talking?"
"Because his father abandoned him." Jason said. "I heard Jacques say that he was expendable because he had Weiss."
"WHAT!" Weiss yelled. "He was going to just let them kill Whitley. I mean sure Whitley's a brat, but he's still his son!"
Whitley rubbed his shoulder. "I'm sorry sister."
Weiss looked at Whitley in shock. "What?" She asked.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the way that I acted."
"What brought this on?" Jason asked confused.
"When I heard father say that I was expendable I thought that I was dead, but then you two came and saved me. Even after what I've done to you, you came to rescue me." Whitley cried. "Why would you save me?"
Weiss put her hand on Whitley's shoulder. "You are my brother. You aren't Jacques son. Jacques doesn't care about any of us. He only cares about our family's money."
Whitley looked at Weiss. "Father doesn't care?"
"No, he doesn't. If he had to choose between you and his money, he would choose his money one hundred percent of the time."
"Father said that he would rather give the hostages money rather than give them better working conditions."
"That's disgusting."
"So, can we get my legs taken care of?" Jason asked.
"Of course, we can la... What happened to yer eyes!"
Jason sighed, and told the story of his journey since the Fall of Beacon.
"Where are those two?" Viridian asked in a dark tone.
"They are dead." Jason replied.
"How did they die?"
"I killed Rhea by crushing her with a door. I don't know how Talia died, but I have a guess."
"How?"
"I think I decapitated her."
"Good on ye lad."
"We need to get Jason down to my clinic." Pietro said.
"Let's go." Viridian said.
They moved Jason down to Mantle, and to Pietro's clinic.
When they got there a Shadow clone appeared in the corner.
"I'll be back." Jason said closing his eyes and taking control of the Shadow clone and appeared in Mistral.
"Well, well." Torchwick said. "I'm glad that you could make it."
'What did you call me for?'
"I found a place that I want."
'Will you follow my rules?'
"Yes. I will protect people, help get people legitimate jobs, I will keep kids off the streets by finding them good families, and I will inform you if Cinder comes around."
'Good, and you will help humans and Faunus, right?'
"Y-yes."
Jason glared at Torchwick. 'Is that a question?'
"N-no. I will help Faunus too."
'Are you lying?'
"No!" Torchwick yelled quickly.
'Then let's go.'
The two headed towards a bar.
"Welcome." A large woman said.
Jason could hear her Accent but couldn't place it. 'Hello.' He inclined his head.
"What can I do for you?"
'I want you to leave, and hand over control of your bar to Torchwick here.'
The woman began laughing. "Oh, darlin' I don't take orders from you."
'I want to do this without bloodshed.'
The woman snapped her fingers, and Jason heard weapons being drawn on him.
"Now, now." Torchwick said. "You don't want to make this man angry. Let me tell you. He has the power of a locomotive, and the agility of a ballet dancer."
"Don't make me laugh. I am li'l miss, and I run this town. I am the spider in this web, and you two are my prey."
Jason let out a cold cruel laugh that pulled the warmth from the room. 'Oh. I'm sorry, but did you really just call me your prey?"
"Y-y-you are." Li'l Miss said trying to fake confidence.
'Let me show you a true predator.'
A spiderweb made of shadow spread across the floor grabbing everyone's shadows and pulling them to the floor.
"What is this?" li'l Miss asked in horror.
'You wanted to see a predator! I gave you a predator!' Jason roared in a monstrous voice.
"I think you may have pushed his buttons." Torchwick said.
'You think that you can get gain from others suffering? I won't let you get away with it anymore!'
"What are you talking about? I trade information."
'At the cost of people's lives! That is something I can't allow!'
"No! Please!"
Jason pulled them towards him.
"Please." Li'l Miss begged. "Spare us."
Jason picked Li'l Miss up by her throat and crushed it. 'Torchwick is now in charge. Anyone else want to question me?'
Everyone looked up at Jason in fear. "Whatever you want. Just don't kill us."
Jason blinked, and his shadow web was dispelled.
"Well boys and girls." Torchwick said. "You work for us now."
"Us?" One man asked.
A girl walked up beside Torchwick. Her hair changed color from black to chocolate brown, Strawberry pink, and vanilla white.
"Who are you?" The man asked.
"Don't worry about Neo here. She's not much of a talker, but she is one of the best assassins ever, and I have this guy on speed dial." Torchwick said patting Jason on the shoulder.
'I'll be leaving now.' Jason said closing his eyes.
When Jason woke up, he felt that something was different. His head felt painful. "Wh- ouch."
"Jason!" Weiss said. "How do you feel?"
"My head hurts."
"That would be my doing." Pietro said. "I took a look at your eyes. They had been melted down to the optic nerves. So, I cleaned them up as best I could, and put a node on either side of your head and was just about to put this visor on."
"What will the visor do?"
"It will let you see again."
Jason went quiet. "R-really?"
"Jason?" Weiss asked. "Are you okay?"
"I-I just didn't think that I would ever be able to see again."
Weiss took Jason's hand, and gave it a squeeze.
"I fixed yer legs lad." Viridian said with a growl. "Don't break them again."
"No promises."
Viridian hit Jason with his Blacksmith Hammer. "I know. That's why I'm completely redesigning them."
"W-wait." Jason stammered. "Are you saying that you took my legs?"
"Aye. That I did lad."
"That's not funny."
"Yer legs need to be reinforced. Tha' way if ye get caught like that again yer legs won't break so easily."
"What do you mean easily? They were broken by a cave in."
"With my new modifications ye will be able to kick a mountain in half."
"Bullshit." Jason said.
"Do ye doubt my abilities?"
"No, but I don't see how you can make a pair of legs that strong."
"So, I can make a weapon strong enough ta blow a hole through a mountain, but I can't make a pair of legs that can kick a mountain in half?"
"I don't know."
"Yer legs will be done in an hour or so."
"What will I do until then?"
Jason heard mechanical feet walking towards him and flinched.
"Don't worry." Pietro said. "I just need to put this on."
Jason moved his head whenever Pietro moved to put whatever it was on him.
"Here." Weiss said taking whatever it was. "Jason. I won't hurt you. Will you let me put this visor in place?"
"Visor?"
"Yes. It's a visor. It will help you see."
"I highly doubt..."
Weiss clicked the visor into place, and Jason stopped talking.
"Jason?" Weiss asked.
"I-I-I can see." Jason said.
"What do you see?"
"A sight that I never thought I would see again."
"And what would that be?"
"The most beautiful thing in the world."
"And what's that?"
"You."
Weiss felt her face heat.
"Do I need to hose ye two off?" Viridian asked in a suggestive tone.
Weiss blushed even harder.
Jason was stunned into silence by the return of his vision.
While they waited for Jason's legs Geoff looked over the 'Dominators.' "These are ingenious. I mean they look like regular Dust magnums, but they actually amplify Dust to a ludicrous level, and send it out as a highly concentrated beam of energy that is five hundred times its normal strength. I mean whoever made this was a true genius."
"Glad you like them." Jason said. "They better be put back together by the time I get my legs back otherwise I will be pissed."
"Ye won't be able ta put them back where they went." Viridian said. "I made them thinner than they were before."
"You what!"
"Ye heard me."
"Why?"
"I realized that part of the reason they got stuck was because they were too bulky. So, I made them slimmer. Also, I was just pulling yer leg about still working on them. I just wanted ta pull yer leg was all." Viridian said with an evil smile.
Jason was about to yell at Viridian when the door opened, and Cliff walked in. Jason could smell that something was wrong. "What's wrong Cliff?"
"The home that I had here. It was torn down. I'm sorry Master Jason, but I don't have a home for you to stay at."
"Don't worry." Jason said nonchalantly. "I was going to buy a house here anyways."
"You were?" Weiss asked with mixed feelings.
"Yeah. I figured that it would be a good idea to have a house in Atlas."
Weiss thought about that for a second. 'Why would Jason need a house in Atlas?'
There was a click that brought Weiss out of her thoughts. She looked over and saw Viridian connecting Jason's Prosthetics to his legs.
"There you go lad."
Jason got up and looked down at his legs, he could see them, he could actually see them.
"Try them out." Pietro said.
Jason began walking around the shop. "These feel heavier, and yet lighter."
"Aye. That they do. I used a special alloy that is dense, but I used Dust ta make it light."
"That makes sense." Geoff said.
"What am I going to do with the 'Dominators'?"
"I took that into account and added this." Viridian said putting the 'Dominators' to his legs, and they stuck to them.
"What? How?"
"I used Aura to make it magnetic to your Aura and yours alone. You can use Aura to make them stick or fall off. Try it."
Jason thought about it, and the 'Dominator' on his left leg flew up, and he clumsily caught it.
"Looks like yer going ta need ta practice."
"I will." Jason said putting the 'Dominator' back on his leg. "Want to go?" He asked Weiss.
"Go where?" She asked.
"Well, we have some shopping to do."
Weiss thought about that for a second before she took his hand, and they left.
AN: So, Jason tells Weiss, Geoff, and Pyrrha about his time since Beacon fell. They save Whitley. Jason gets some upgrades. Torchwick and Neo take over L'il Miss's bar, there is a reason for that, and they go shopping. Enjoy.
