SmackDown Filming: July 5, 2011
I sat in the locker-room with Eve, Maryse, and Ted. SmackDown had just started, and no one had seen Randy for a while. However, we knew Cody was in the ring with the other Money in the Bank competitors right now. However, none of us were worried enough to watch over Cody's segment.
"So how are you going to prepare for Kharma?" Ted asks me.
"Um…" I say. "I guess watch some of her old matches. She wrestled in TNA and did some stuff in Japan. Maybe throw some tables, ladders, and chairs around too."
Ted nods. "So what'd Randy say about your match against Kharma at Money in the Bank?"
I sigh. "Nothing at all. Didn't tell me it was a good plan. Didn't ask me if he needed to do some training with me. But he didn't bitch me out about anything either. Didn't tell me that it was stupid or dumb or anything like that as well."
"Really?"
"Really."
"That's so unlike him. He has comments about everything. Literally everything."
"I know. It's weird. I don't like it."
"Why do you think he hasn't said anything?"
"He's probably not happy about it, but I know he thinks I'm stressing too much right now. Honestly, I think he is too, but he's probably trying to avoid us having conflict over it. We're both under a lot of stress."
"You don't sound happy."
"Well, I'd rather he'd say something than nothing at all."
"Well. Randy's a piece of work. When he's stubborn, he's stubborn. Right now, it sounds like he's being too stubborn to comment about your match. But maybe he's got the right idea with trying to avoid conflict. Where is he anyway?"
"No idea at all."
"Oh. Well, anyway, when do you want to watch those old matches of Kharma's?"
"Maybe tomorrow. Why?"
"I think I might join you. I like watching some good professional wrestling."
"Add me to that too." Ryse says.
"Me too." Eve adds.
I laugh. "Okay. Ted, you wrestling tonight at all?"
"Me and Codes have a Tag Team match against Daniel and Ezekiel Jackson."
"Nice. Kick Daniel's ass a little extra for me."
"Always."
We hear Cody and Randy talking as they walk into the locker-room. Randy sounds mad. The rest of us look at each other in confusion.
Randy sits next to me and groans. "I need a minute."
The rest of us exchange concerned looks. I glance at Cody.
"Ask him in a few." Cody mouths.
Eve, Cody, Maryse, and Ted all get up.
"We're gonna go." Ted says. "See you guys in a little bit."
I roll my eyes as my friends leave me alone with my husband. As they close the door, I look over at Randy.
"I'm going to get a salad from Catering." I whisper. "You want anything?"
"Um…" Randy says. "If they have pizza, snatch me a piece. Are you going to Catering because I'm in a mood?"
"No. I'm hungry."
"Oh. You coming back or eating in there?"
"I was planning on coming back."
"Oh. Okay."
"See you in a few." I leave and head towards Catering.
Truth was I was giving Randy a few to calm down before hanging out with him. I didn't need to fight with him right now.
I walk back into the locker-room. Randy is still sitting right where I left him. He hasn't moved an inch.
I sit next to him. "Here's the pizza."
He takes the plate with a slice of pizza on it from me. "Thanks."
I smile as he starts eating. "Everything alright?"
He looks at me. "No. Christian came out during the opening segment."
"Did you confront him?"
"No. But I'm gonna whoop his ass when I see him."
"Why?"
"You know how Sheamus tore up the contract for my match at Money in the Bank last week?"
I look at him with concern. "Yeah…why?"
Randy takes in a deep breath. "Well Jay and his lawyer messed with it again. Added a stipulation to the contract."
"Seriously? What is it?"
"If I get disqualified or there is bad officiating at Money in the Bank, then Jay automatically becomes World Heavyweight Champion."
"Are you serious? That's not okay."
"That's why I'm mad."
"My poor man. Money in the Bank is going to be such a tough pay per view for everyone."
Randy sighs. "Yeah. With the Money in the Bank matches and one of them being capable of cashing in on me, and now me having to extra make sure that I don't get disqualified and the fact if the referee screws up it screws me out of the World Heavyweight Championship."
Once again, not a word about my match against Kharma at Money in the Bank.
"Well, I might have to go say something. Not like I have anything else to do."
"What do you mean you have nothing else to do?"
"I don't have anything to do tonight. Unless Kharma shows up."
"Babe, I have a match tonight. I'm in the main event, so you have something to do."
"Oh. Since when?"
"Also the opening segment. You didn't watch it?"
"I don't care about Money in the Bank matches."
"Cody was in it. Eve was in here."
"Well, then she didn't care either."
"Well, since they're together, I figured that she would."
"Not every couple does that."
"Do you miss my stuff sometimes?"
"Never. If I'm not with you, I watch."
"Good. Watch me. I always watch your stuff."
Again, could've been a good moment for him to mention my match against Kharma.
"You ever get worried about me in the middle of watching?"
"Sometimes. Anyway, I also have an interview with our favorite interviewer tonight."
"That sounded sarcastic. Sounds like it's Todd Grisham."
"It is. So he'll be late."
"You get way too pissed about that."
"No. I don't."
"Does a certain argument in 2009 ring a bell?"
"I was worried about you and you getting a good push going smoothly."
"And like I said then, it was none of your concern. But you made out with me literally the next week on TV."
Randy shrugs. "You didn't complain then."
"Whatever. I'll go with you to that too, so Todd isn't stuck dealing with your moody ass."
"My moody ass? Wow, that was blunt."
I shrug. "It's the truth. Love you, babe."
Randy rolls his eyes. "Love you too."
It's a shame that lost their head
A careless man who could wind up dead
You wear your sin like it's some kind of prize
Too many lies, too many lies…
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Dublin, Ireland, weighing in at 267 pounds, Sheamus!"
Randy and I stand next to each other backstage as Sheamus makes his way to the ring for his match against Randy.
I look at a monitor and nudge Randy. "Is that Christian?"
Randy glances at me. "Where?"
"At commentary."
"Son of a bitch. It is."
"I'll keep an eye on him."
"Thanks, babe."
I hear voices in my head
They council me
They understand
They talk to me…
"And his opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Marissa, from Saint Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds, he is the World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton!"
Randy and I walk out together. After he enters the ring and poses, I take the World Heavyweight Championship from him to hold.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Sheamus immediately levels Randy. Randy gets up, and Sheamus levels him again. Sheamus drops knees on Randy's head repeatedly. He stops, looks at Christian, and taunts to the crowd. Sheamus then prepares for Randy to get up, so he can Brogue Kick Randy.
I lean over close to where Randy is. "Sheamus is gonna go for the Brogue Kick when you get up."
Randy nods. He gets up. Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick, but Randy dodges it. Randy goes for an RKO, but Sheamus counters it. Sheamus shoves Randy into the ropes. Randy heads back, and Sheamus lifts Randy over his shoulders. Randy escapes and hits Sheamus with a Backbreaker. He then prepares for an RKO. Christian goes to run into the ring. I go to grab him, but he shoves me to the ground. Christian kicks Randy. I hear the bell signal for a disqualification as I stand up.
Christian starts beating on Randy. Sheamus pulls Christian off of Randy and Brogue Kicks Christian. Sheamus turns into an RKO.
I smile. Randy looks mad. He holds his arm as he glares at the others and stands up. I get in the ring and hand Randy his championship. Randy takes it and puts an arm around me as he stares at the other two.
"I tried to stop Christian." I quietly say.
"He got past you?" Randy asks just as quiet.
"He shoved me."
Randy glares at Christian once again before posing in the corner.
