Hello again fanfiction readers; first let me say thank you all for your comments and critiques on this story. I'm glad many of you are still interested in it, and it is an honor to read your reviews; keep them coming. I enjoy them immensely!
Second, I need to address a sudden rash of inboxes and reviews I've had to remove from some guest/anonymous commenters, who are upset about the premise of this story, and have felt the need to inundate me with requests to stop the story, or criticize my portrayal of Shonda in this story.
Now, while I truly do appreciate all commentary concerning my stories, and I respect everyone's opinion; because everyone is entitled to their opinion. At the same time; I have to advise, that the story itself is my point of view. It's not factual; it's my perspective of the Terry phenomenon I believe is real.
Hence this being a fanfiction tale. And if you're not a fan of Terry fiction, by all means feel free to skip this story. But, I am not going to take the story down, and I am going to finish it. Sorry for making this author's note so long peeps; but I had to address this matter this way. Since the people sending me the messages are posting their responses as anonymous. So that I can't reply to them directly. Thanks again for your time and your interest, and happy reading!
First Day Back
Kerry arrives on set, and after dropping Josie off at her trailer with her assistant Meagan; she heads into the building. Not wanting to cause a blow up; she decided on the way over to test the waters with Shonda before talking to her. According to the call she got from Columbus on the way over; he thought greeting her with a conversation about something like this first thing was a bad idea. He advised her to hang back, and see what happens. He suggested maybe waiting until after work to bring it up to her.
She was hesitant at first, but after hanging up with him, and sitting in LA traffic for a while. She had to admit he may have a point. If she doesn't want to disrupt the workplace; she needs to think about when and how she's going to address the situation.
There's no need to create unnecessary drama. This was one of the things she loved about her friend; catching up with him was good, but it was the counselling he always gives her that's the best part of their friendship. She just wishes he'd let her help him more by listening to her advice about his behavior. On the ride to work; he told her that Shonda fired a warning shot. She told him one more mess up and he's out. So, he's promising to pull it together, and she hopes he does.
As Kerry walks inside; she clears her head of her conversation with Columbus, and quiets her original thoughts of talking to Shonda, for now. And as she rounds the corner, heading toward the lounge area; she encounters some of the crew already composing a set. But, it's one she's never seen before. Which lets her know that Shonda has already given them the go ahead to construct some new scenes. After walking by their work area; she sees a handsome, and familiar face among a group of her male costars; that makes her smile instantly. She spies him, and his gorgeous smile. But, he's not looking at her; instead he appears to be engaged in heavy conversation. Which peaks her interest.
As she attempts to get closer to them; she hears her name called. When she turns around she sees Darby and Katie walking toward her. She smiles at them as they approach and they hug each other with grins between them; as they greet one another happily.
When their hugs break; Kerry sees an odd look on their faces; so she asks, "What's up ladies? You look like you saw a ghost." Katie replies, "Something like that." Kerry asks, "What does that mean Katie?" Darby replies, "She's talking about Scott Foley."
Kerry gives both of them a look of surprise as she asks, "Are you saying you saw him today?" Both of the ladies nod yes, as Katie says, "Yes. I saw him walking across the lot about twenty minutes ago." Both ladies look at Kerry, and she says, "Maybe he's a guest star for an episode."
Darby responds, "Ordinarily I'd agree with you. But, I don't know. Remember how pissed Shonda was when the network refused him for the role of Stephen?" Kerry nods as she thinks about how aggravated Shonda seemed to be after she got the call, advising that Henry would be playing the role and not Scott.
Kerry snaps out of her head, as she feels a familiar hand on her lower back. She looks up, and sees Tony standing next to her; he's smiling at Darby and Katie, and making small talk with them. As she looks at him; he looks back at her, as he asks, "So, have you all heard the news about Scott appearing on the show?" They all nod as Kerry asks, "When did you hear about it?" He replies, "It's the first thing Tom said to me; when he saw me walk in. That's what the guys and I were talking about when you walked by."
Kerry looks around, and doesn't see any of the guys. So she asks, "Where'd they all go?" Tony responds, "The doughnuts are here; so they all went to get first pick. Josh led the charge of course." Kerry shakes her head as she replies, "Of course he did." Katie asks, "Where's Columbus? He knows we are supposed to be here today right?"
Kerry nods as she replies, "Yeah, I talked to him on the way in this morning. He's on his way. Traffic is a beast today on the 405." Darby asks, "Oh, okay. So he's back at home with his wife?" Kerry shrugs her shoulders as she replies, "From what I know. Yes." Katie says, "Well, that's good to hear. I'm glad he's trying to pull it together."
Tony responds, "I think we all are. He's a great guy to have around. He helps to make the tense times bearable." They all nod in agreement, as Kerry says, "Agreed. I just can't get over Scott being back on set. I didn't see that coming."
Tony shrugs his shoulders as he responds, "Nobody did Ker. But, hey. He's a nice enough guy. He may fit in well with us this time. We have to give him a chance." Darby rolls her eyes as she says, "Says you, and only you." Tony notices the tone of her response, and says, "I didn't know you had an issue with him Darby. What did he do?" Katie admittedly replies, "He tries too hard, and he's terribly immature." Tony nods as he says, "Well, Josh likes him." All three of the ladies say, "Figures."
They all chuckle at the coincidental reply, and their moment is cut short when Josh walks over to them, with a doughnut in one hand, and crème filling on the corner of his mouth, as he's talking and asking; "Hey what's so funny?"
Under her breath, but loud enough for everyone but Josh to hear her; Darby says, "Nothing much jackass." They all try to hide their smirks; but it's not easy, and it isn't long before one by one; they all end up releasing their laughter, leaving Josh in the dark.
Tony sees the confusion on his face, and before he can say anything. Marjorie, Shonda's assistant comes over and says, "Shonda will be ready to meet with you all in the conference room shortly. So, you can start heading down there." They all oblige her request, and walk to the conference room together; after first securing doughnuts and coffee from the break room.
As they all make the trip to the conference room; Tony and Josh walk and talk a few steps behind the ladies, out of ear shot of their conversation. Knowing they can't hear her; Darby mutters, "Has anyone seen Bellamy?" She's looking at Kerry when she poses the question, and Kerry gives her a look that says everything. Katie sees Kerry's expression, and cracks a smile that matches Darby's.
The idea of Bellamy being there, is something Kerry didn't even consider until this moment. Either that spoke to how annoyed she was with her; that she'd forgotten about her. Or, it spoke to her underlying feelings of wishing she'd disappear for good. Either way, she had no desire to see her, or speak to her again. But, she knows that isn't possible given their situation. So, she prepares herself mentally to lay eyes on her soon.
