Ruby looked at the Beowulf that was coming towards her.

Ren and Nora were off in the bushes in case this didn't work, but for the most part they wouldn't move in until they were needed.

'Anytime Jaune.' She thought.

Crack*

There was the sound of a bullet leaving the barrel of a Sniper Rifle followed by the sound of it whistling through the air, and the sound of it hitting the Beowulf in the chest.

Ruby used her Semblance to get out of the way, and around the side of the Beowulf.

Ren and Nora came out from their hiding spots and stood next to Ruby.

The trio looked up into the air and saw Jaune. They looked up at his new armor.

He wore his clothes, but he wore silver kneepads, as well as Silver hand guards with jade green Armguards for hand-to-hand combat. He wore a breastplate over his chest and Pauldron's on his shoulders.

'Crocea Mors' hung from his left shoulder, and he had a pair of sheaths on his hips.

He shouldered a sniper rifle and put a foot forward before looking down at his friends.

"Hey guys... whoa what whoa!" He yelled before falling backwards.

"Jaune!" Ruby yelled. "Are you okay."

"Yeah." Jaune said. "Thankfully, my Aura took the brunt of it."

They walked over to the rock where Jaune had been sniping from.

"That was a great shot." Nora said.

"Thanks. Though I think I need some more training."

"What do you think this is?" Ruby asked.

"I mean more small-scale training."

"Do you have ammo to spare?"

"Some." Jaune said.

He thought about the day he'd gotten an upgrade.

One month ago.

"Hi." Ruby said to the village elder.

"Hello young lady. Can we help you?"

"We were wondering if you can help my friend."

"With what?"

"His armor is getting too small for him and we were wondering if he could trade it in or something."

"You can ask our Blacksmith. See if he has something. I could work something out with him if you don't have enough to pay with Lien."

"What did you have in mind?"

"We are having a Grimm problem. A Geist has been terrorizing our town, if you can get rid of it then we will exchange it for your friends' armor."

"Could you upgrade my 'Vulcans' too?" Jaune asked.

"If you take down the Geist I will see if we can give you all an upgrade."

"That's too generous." Ren said. "Giving Jaune an upgrade is more than enough."

"Let's go talk to the blacksmith."

They walked to the Blacksmith shop.

"Klaus." The Chief said to the ram Faunus.

"Chief." Klaus said.

"These Hunters need an upgrade. If they were to take care of our Geist problem would you be able to give them the upgrades they need?"

"How many of them need upgrades?" Klaus asked.

"Just me." Jaune said. "I need new armor, and an upgrade for my 'Vulcans'."

"I have a set of armor that you can trade for your old armor if it fits." Klaus pointed at the armor.

Jaune walked over to the armor and took off his old armor.

He turned around.

"WHAT IS THAT!" Ruby yelled in mirth.

"What?" Jaune asked.

"That." She pointed at the rabbit face on Jaune's hoodie.

"This? It's Pumpkin Pete.

"What? Did you send in box tops to get it?"

"Yeah." Jaune stammered. "Fifty of them."

Ruby began rolling on the floor laughing.

Jaune put the armor on. He pulled on the Breastplate before pulling on the Pauldrons. He pulled on the hand guards, and tightened the straps before pulling on the armguards, and tightening the straps. The last thing he did was pull on the Kneepads. "Well? What do you think?"

"I think it looks good." Nora said.

"I think I prefer the rabbit hoodie." Ruby said holding her stomach from her bout of laughter.

"I am concerned about your lack of a defense." Ren said.

"I've got my Aura." Jaune said.

"And you can do this." Klaus said taking 'Crocea Mors' and putting it on his left shoulder. "This will offer you some protection."

"Thanks." Jaune said. "Can you work on my 'Vulcans' while we are gone?"

"Sure. What were you thinking?"

"Maybe something that gives me a long-range advantage?"

"I have an idea." Klaus said.

The group headed out and fought the Geist Grimm. Jaune mostly directed the fight, but they eventually beat it, and made their way back to the village.

"So, did you take care of the Geist?" The chief asked.

"Yes sir." Ren said with a bow.

The others followed Ren's example.

"As promised, we will upgrade your friends gear. Go talk to Klaus."

They made their way to Klaus's shop.

When they got there Klaus was waiting for them.

"Hey kids. I think you're going to like this." Klaus said. "I had the plans for twin Magnums that can connect to make a sniper rifle. They are also twin knives."

To further explain Klaus flipped the grips and, and the Magnums straightened and lengthened before a blades edge slid up, and lengthened a foot becoming a razor-sharp edge.

"Whoa!" Jaune and Ruby said in unison.

"OOh." Nora said looking at them. "I mean they look cool, but you can't blow anything up with them."

"Considering that Jason taught Jaune how to use his 'Vulcans' I think that he will be able to use them very well." Ren added.

"Now." Klaus said. "Let me show you this." He flipped the knives back to Magnums and put the front of the first magnum on the end of the next one. There was a click and the barrel of the first Magnum extended allowing the Magnum to be pushed forward lengthening the barrel. The butt end of the gun extended out, and the second handle was pushed into barrel, and a tripod dropped down. The last thing that happened was the top opened and an iron sight flipped up. "What do you think?"

Ruby looked like she could die happy.

"That... looks... Awesome!" Jaune said.

"I want to try!" Nora yelled. "Almost as much as I want more of Ren's pancakes."

"I think that Ruby can teach you how to use a sniper." Ren said.

"I'm glad you approve." Klaus said with a hearty laugh before handing Jaune the sniper rifle. "It's named 'Silent Fury'. Separated they are 'Twin Fury'."

"Wow." Jaune said in awe taking 'Silent Fury' with almost reverent awe. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. Oh, and here's this." Klaus said handing Jaune a scope. "This is a detachable scope. That way you have both the iron sight and a scope."

Ruby held her stomach and groaned.

"Ruby?" Jaune asked concerned. "Are you okay."

"Yeah." Ruby complained. "Just period cramps. I'll be okay."

"No." Jaune and Nora said in unison. "You need to rest."

Ren looked at the Blacksmith. "Is there a place where we could stay? We would be glad to exchange our services for room and board."

"We have an Inn. You could talk to the chief and see if we can accommodate you."

"Thank you." Ren said with a bow.

The group left and found the Chief.

"Thank you, Huntsmen." The Chief said. "Because of you our village is safe once again."

"You're welcome." Ren said with a bow.

The others followed suit.

"Is there anything we can do for you?"

"If it wouldn't be too much to ask could we stay and recover our strength for a time? We don't have much Lien, but we could exchange our skill for room and board."

"Of course. If you can keep the Grimm under control, then you can stay for as long as you need."

They walked to the Inn and the Village Chief talked with the Innkeeper.

"It's all taken care of." The chief said. "You can stay here as long as you need in return for your help with keeping the Grimm at bay."

"Thank you, sir." Jaune said.

The Innkeeper led them to a room. "Here you are."

"Thank you, Ma'am."

"Let's get some rest." Jaune said looking at the twin beds.

"Looks like we're going to have to share." Nora said.

"I'll sleep on the floor." Jaune said unrolling his bedroll.

That night they slept better knowing they were better protected in a village rather than out in the jungle.

During the night Jaune woke up to hearing someone crying.

He got up and followed the sound to Ruby's bed.

"Ruby?" He asked.

The crying stopped and Ruby tried to brush off the fact that she was crying. "Hi Jaune." She said before sniffing.

"What's wrong?" Jaune asked.

"Nothing." Ruby said.

"Hey." Jaune said rubbing her back. "You can tell me. I'm your friend."

"I told you I'm fine."

Jaune looked at Ruby. She wasn't fine. "No, you're not. If you're fine then you wouldn't be crying like this, in the middle of the night, while your friends are asleep. You're upset, and you don't want us to know about it."

Ruby started crying and fell into Jaune's chest.

Jaune held Ruby while she cried.

"I'm sorry." Ruby said. "I guess that I just needed to cry."

"I'll always be here if you need me."

"Don't lie. Jason said the same thing, and he ran off. Yang said that she wouldn't leave, and she pushed me away." Ruby started crying again. "Penny's dead, Pyrrha's gone, and on top of that I don't feel good, and I hurt."

'Damn it! Why can't I help her? Why can't I do anything to help my friends? Why am I so useless?' Jaune scolded himself. "I'm sorry Ruby. I didn't realize that you were suffering. I was so caught up in my own pain that I couldn't see yours. I wish there were some way that I could help you."

There was a bright flash of light, and the room was covered in white light.

When the light Vanished Jaune was outlined in white, and Ruby was outlined in red with a faint pink outline.

Ruby's cries slowed, and she began to fall asleep.

Jaune laid Ruby down and pulled the blanket over her before crawling back into his bedroll and drifting off to sleep. 'What was that light?'

The next morning Jaune woke up late.

"Morning lazy butt!" Nora yelled.

"Whoa!" Jaune yelled.

"You missed breakfast, and lunch."

"I did? How long was I asleep?" He asked looking at his scroll. "5:00! Why did you guys let me sleep in so late?"

"We tried to wake you, but you were out of it. "Ruby says thanks."

"For what?"

"For helping her."

"What did I do?"

"She said that you helped her get to sleep last night."

"How did I do that?"

"I think your Semblance might have activated." Ruby said coming into their room.

"Really? What is it?"

"I think that your Semblance has to do with Aura manipulation. I think that you can affect people's Aura to either enhance their own Semblance, enhance their Aura to promote healing or enhance their or even your own defensive capabilities, and maybe even use it to attack."

"I-I can?"

"I said maybe. You have to train, and train hard. You didn't have the luxury of training when you were younger. So, we will train you along the way."

"Thanks."

"So how long will we be here?" Ruby asked.

"I figured that we would stay for a week. I could train, you could recover, and we could be safe for a while."

"Okay."

"Um." Jaune said nervously. "Could you um... could you teach me how to be a sniper?"

"Sure." Ruby said with a twinkle in her eye.

They walked to the outskirts of the town.

Ruby and Jaune walked to a clearing.

"Okay." Ruby said. "There is a lot of math involved with sniping. You have to be able to calculate the distance from your target, the wind resistance, the type of bullets you're using. Everything goes into account when sniping."

"So how do I do all that math?"

"You will learn, and it will become second nature."

"Okay."

Ruby took some chalk out of her bag and drew a target on a tree. "Okay. We will use the trees as your targets. We will draw smaller targets and use longer distances to improve your aim. We will have to train on the road, just like everything else, but you'll get there."

Jaune raised 'Silent Fury' and aimed at the tree. He aimed the scope at the tree and fired.

"Aw." He said when he saw that he'd hit the tree two inches below the target.

"That wasn't too bad." Ruby said with a smile. "Try it again."

Jaune aimed again and shot. "Dang it." He said with a frown.

The shot hit an inch above the target.

"Again."

Jaune kept up the target practice for the next half hour making progress until... "I hit it!" He yelled with a grin.

"Congratulations." Ruby smiled. "Now you just need to do that until you never miss your target. Then we will move onto the next target."

"Okay."

Jaune practiced a while longer before they headed back to the village.

"So." Nora asked. "How did he do."

"Not bad." Ruby said with a smile. "He did really good for the first day."

"What now?"

"Now Jaune needs to practice both his Sniping and his Semblance."

"Ooh." Nora said. "Can we have pancakes?"

"Can I ask why you like pancakes so much?" Ruby asked. "I mean you ask Ren to make them every chance you get. Why?"

"Because Ren makes the best pancakes." Nora said with a smile on her face.

"When we were living on the streets." Ren bowed his head in shame. "We uh... we couldn't afford much. So, when we got any lien, I would buy the stuff to make pancakes."

"It was the first meal that I had that didn't come out of the trash." Nora said embarrassed.

"Nora made sure that I never went to bed hungry." Ren said with a single tear rolling down his face. "Even if it meant that she went to sleep hungry. I only knew how to make pancakes. So, whenever Nora asks for pancakes, no matter what time or how many times a day, I will make Nora all the pancakes she wants."

Ruby used her Semblance to grab Ren and Nora and hugged them tightly. "I am so sorry. I'm sorry for bringing up those memories."

Nora returned the hug with a smile. "It's okay Ruby. I know that you would never say anything harsh or cruel."

Ren wiped his eyes and returned Ruby's hug with a slight hug of his own. "Thank you for understanding."

Out in the darkness two figures ran back to their campsite. When they got there, they ran to their leaders' tent.

"What's going on?" The Raven-haired woman asked.

"Those four brats are still there. What should we do?"

"Wait for them to leave."

"Wh-why?"

"I really don't need to tell you but tell you I will. My brother's niece is one of those brats, and my brother, my ex-husband, and her brother and sister would reign down vengeance on us if we so much as harmed a hair on her, or one of her pathetic friends' heads."

"Do they really scare you that much?"

There was a flash of a sword followed by the almost silent sound of a portal being opened, and the head of the bandit who had called the Bandit Queen a coward was rolling on the floor while his body was sent through the portal landing in front of a dusty old crow.

"No!" The Bandit Queen said. "They don't scare me because I can get away. They should scare you because you can't." Deep down she was terrified of Ruby's adopted older brother. He had a powerful presence that gave her the chills. She didn't know what he was, but he wasn't human. Not if he could do that.

"So, we will wait until they leave?"

"Yes. No matter how long it takes. We will wait."

The next day Ruby helped Jaune hit the target using his Iron sight.

"You're actually really good with the Iron sight." Ruby said with a smile.

"Well, it's just lining the sight up with the target and shooting." Jaune smiled back.

"Let's see how good you do with moving targets." Ruby took a pinecone and threw it.

Jaune followed the pinecone and missed the shot.

"Don't follow the pinecone. Aim at where it's going to be instead of where it's at."

"Huh." Jaune thought. "Throw it again."

Ruby threw the pinecones, and eventually Jaune hit a pinecone.

"Ha-ha!" Jaune cheered. "I did it!"

"Yeah." Ruby said patting him on the back. Now do it again until you can hit every pinecone."

"How many are you going to throw?"

"All of them." Ruby said with a wicked grin.

Later that night.

"So?" Nora asked with a grin. "How did it go?"

"I can say that Jaune is making progress. How was the perimeter?"

"Pretty good." Ren said. "We only had a few Grimm, and they were easy to take out."

"That's good. I will have Jaune use the scope for his sniper for a while, and then he can help you guys."

"I just need to help the Blacksmith to get some more ammo." Jaune said. "He told me that he would give me a box of ammo if I helped him for an hour each day."

"So that's where you go every morning." Ruby said.

"Yup." Jaune said with a nervous chuckle. "I go and help Klaus for an hour, and he gives me a box of ammo."

"What does he have you do?" Nora asked.

"Just clean up around his shop."

"Let's eat so you can practice your Semblance before bed." Ruby said.

The four friends sat down and ate a hearty meal that Ren and Nora had gotten for helping around the village.

After dinner Jaune activated his Aura and held his hand out to his friends.

Nora took Jaune's hand and felt his Aura encompass her. "Whoa. What is this?"

"It's my Semblance."

"It feels like you're recharging my batteries."

"Is that a good thing?"

"So long as it's not electricity." Ren said with the hint of a shudder.

Jaune tried letting his Semblance flow over each of his teammates and held it until they told him to stop.

"That's it for today." Ruby said. "Tomorrow we will see what you can do defensively."

"Thank you." Jaune said before going to bed.

The next day as promised Ruby helped Jaune use his Scope to snipe moving targets.

"You're getting really good at that." Ruby said. "I guess that Jason passed down his ability to learn how to use any weapon he sees."

"You really think so?"

"Yeah. Granted it's not as fast as his, but for learning how to use a new weapon on the road it's pretty useful."

"Do you think that I could ever get as fast as Jason?"

"I don't know. Jason learned how to do that as a way to handle life. He would spend hours with Viridian learning how things worked and would spend time with us so we could learn how to use each other's weapons."

Jaune thought about that. "Do you think that Ren could help me with 'Twin Fury'?"

"We can ask him when we get back."

Ren was cooking dinner when they got back to the Inn.

"Hey Ren." Jaune said.

"Yes?"

"Could you help me practice with the 'Twin Fury' Tomorrow?"

"Sure."

"Thanks."

"What's for dinner?" Nora asked. "Is it Pancakes?"

"Not tonight Nora." Ren said. "We can have pancakes before we leave."

"Oh. All right." Nora whined.

"Hey Nora." Ruby said. "Is it okay if I go on patrol with you tomorrow so Ren can help Jaune?"

"Okay." Nora said glumly.

"When are we going to train Jaune's Semblance?" Ren asked.

"Right now." Ruby said. "He is going to protect us from Nora."

"Why me?" Nora asked.

"Because we took your pancakes." Ruby said.

"My... Pancakes!" Nora yelled before charging them.

A young boy watched in horror as the men surrounded him.

"Where do you think you're going?" The largest man asked with a sneer on his face.

"Please." The boy said. "My family doesn't have enough money. We had to choose to buy food or fire Dust to keep our house warm. I just wanted to help."

"I don't care what your kind can and can't afford."

"Please. Just let me go."

One of the men kicked him in the stomach sending the boy to his knees.

"Know your place!" The man who had kicked him yelled.

"We know what to do with you." The first man said.

The second man stepped on the boy's hands until the boy let go of the large fire Dust crystal he was holding.

The first man picked it up and pulled out his baton and activated the mecha-shift technology to shift the baton into the cruel implement that he took great pleasure in wielding. He put the Dust crystal into the Dust chamber and activated it. The fire Dust activated and went through the rod and superheated the tip turning the three letters orange, red, yellow, and finally white hot.

The boy watched in horror as the man swung the Baton/Branding iron through the air. He tried to say something, anything, but he was so scared that he couldn't.

"Look at that." The second man said. "You made him piss himself."

The three men laughed at the boy's humiliation.

After their laughter, the first man kicked the boy onto his back and stomped on his chest forcing the air from his lungs before pressing the Branding iron into his face over his left eye.

The boy shrieked in pain until he passed out.

The smell of burning flesh filled the room along with the sizzle of liquid touching a hot surface.

The men looked at the mutilated face of the boy now wearing the SDC brand to show that he was a thief.

"Throw him outside." The first man said. "In this weather he'll be dead come morning. We can hang him up as a warning to all other thieves."

The boy woke up laying on something soft. "Where am I?" He asked before feeling heat on his face. He grimaced and covered his face.

"Are you all right?" A kind, sad voice asked.

"Who are you?" The boy asked glaring at her.

"My name is Marie Remarque. My daughter found you in the street and brought you here."

"You're a human. Why would you help me?"

"Not all humans are evil." Marie said. "What happened?" She asked.

The boy told her about how his family couldn't afford fire Dust, so he tried to take some to help his family. He told her how the men found him and beat him before they branded him.

By then end of his tale Marie was crying. "I'm so sorry." She spoke.

"Why are you sorry?" The boy glared at her.

"Like I said. Not all humans are evil."

The boy noticed something. "I can't see."

"I'm sorry, but..." Marie wiped tears from her eyes. "Those men. They took your sight in that eye."

"I'm going to take their sight then." The boy snarled.

"What's your name?" Marie asked calmly.

"Adam. Adam Taurus."

"Well Adam. I'm sorry for what happened to you, but violence only begets more violence."

"So, what should I do to the humans who did this?"

"I'll walk you home."

Marie and Adam walked back to Adam's house.

When they got there Marie put her hand on Adam's shoulder. "I'll be here to pick you up tomorrow. I'll show you a better path to follow."

Like she said Marie picked Adam up the next day, but he looked a little worse for wear. "What happened?"

"Nothing."

"Are you lying to me?"

"No. Maybe. Yes."

"Tell me what happened."

Marie kicked the door to Adam's house open.

"What the hell!" A Lion Faunus yelled.

"HOW DARE YOU!" Marie yelled brandishing a crimson sword. "HOW DARE YOU ATTACK YOUR SON WHEN HE NEEDED YOU! HE NEEDED YOU AFTER WHAT WAS DONE TO HIM, AND YOU ATTACKED HIM! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!"

Adam couldn't believe it. Someone was standing up for him, and it was a human.

Marie took Adam's hand and led him back to her house.

"Why did you do that?" Adam asked.

Marie put her sheathed sword on the table and put her hand on Adam's shoulder. "I'm so sorry." She said hugging him.

"Why..." Adam started crying. "Why do you care?"

Marie let Adam cry.

"I care because you need someone to care about you."

When Adam was done crying Marie showed him to the spare bedroom. "This will be your room for as long as you stay here."

Adam hugged Marie.

Marie returned the hug.

Over the next several years Marie helped Adam. She taught him how to use her sword, Wilt, and even unlocked his Aura.

Marie's daughter, who was named Julia, would come over and teach him how to use his Semblance. He could absorb energy and store it in Marie's sword before using the sword to redirect the energy.

It had been two years since Marie had found Adam, and she had taught him to control his hatred of the humans. Marie was proof that not all humans were bad.

Though that all changed one fateful day

One day Marie and Adam were walking home when humans killed Marie for taking him in.

Adam was filled with rage. Humans hated Faunus! Humans hated humans who helped Faunus! Humans deserved death... and Adam would give it to them.

"Adam." Sienna Khan said pulling Adam from his thoughts.

"What?" Adam asked with a frown.

"Why are you crying?"

Adam brushed a finger against his cheek and saw a tear. "It's nothing." He growled.

"Then let us go over your report or lack thereof. Why did you attack Beacon?"

"Because. We need to send a message that the White Fang are not to be trifled with!" Adam growled.

"Through killing humans and Faunus?"

"We only killed house pets."

Sienna roared at Adam for using the cruel nickname more radical Faunus gave to Faunus who had befriended humans. "Don't you ever use that term in my presence ever again!" She roared.

Adam didn't flinch.

Sienna calmed down. "What of the Faunus the Atlesian knights and Grimm killed? Their blood is on your hands too!"

"What of our brothers and sisters the hunters killed!" He yelled back.

"They were protecting innocent Humans and Faunus! Unlike you."

Adam glared at her. "There are no innocent Humans." He said with a low growl.

"Really? And what of the girl you mutilated?"

"How did you..."

"I have eyes and ears everywhere. Why do you want to hurt sister Blake when you're the reason she left in the first place?"

"SHUT UP!" Adam yelled.

"The truth hurts doesn't it."

"Oh my." A low husky voice said from the shadows.

"Who's there?" Sienna Khan asked.

"Just little old me." A man with Pasty white skin, a purple suit, and a smile on his face said.

"Who are you?"

"Me?" The stranger asked pointing at himself. "I'm no one really, but you can call me the Joker."

"What's with the name?" Adam asked harshly.

"Oh." The Joker said in mock offense. "You wound me. I come to put you in charge of the White Fang, and you ask such a hurtful question like that."

"You're going to what?" Sienna asked.

"I'm going to kill you." The Joker said.

"I don't think so."

The Joker pulled out a gun and shot at Sienna.

BANG*

A BANG flag shot out of the end of the gun.

"Oopsie." The Joker said. "I must have grabbed the wrong gun."

Sienna ran at the Joker with her Cerberus Whip raised.

The Joker's gun Mecha-shifted into a crowbar, and he swung at the incoming Whip.

Ruby looked at the mess of their room. The beds were overturned, and the bedding was strewn across the room. The desk was overturned, and the chair was against the far wall. And the nightstands were against the door. "Guy's." She complained. "We need to clean this up."

"Wasn't me." Nora said eating a pancake.

"What are you talking about?" Jaune said. "It's entirely your fault. You didn't stop until Ren made you pancakes."

"I love Ren's pancakes though."

"I guess that It's my fault." Ruby said taking a nightstand back to the bedside. "I shouldn't have done this. Or at least not like this."

"We can try it again tomorrow." Ren said. "But for now, we should get some sleep."

They put the room back together and went to bed.

The next morning, they woke up, and got ready for the day.

Ren and Jaune went to the forest While Ruby and Nora walked the perimeter of the village.

"All right. Jaune." Ren said. "You know how to use pistols and Knives already. So, I'm not sure what I can actually teach you."

"Would you just spar with me?"

"Very well." Ren said before jumping at Jaune.

Jaune jumped out of the way and rolled to his feet like Jason had shown him and grabbed the 'Twin Fury' before changing them into their dagger mode. He spun around and blocked 'Storm Flower'.

Ren kicked Jaune back.

Jaune slid back and stabbed 'Twin Fury' into the ground stopping himself. He got up and ran back at Ren.

Ren spin kicked at Jaune, but Jaune ducked under the kick, and punched Ren in the small of his back.

Ren went with the punch and rolled to his feet. He got to his feet and spun using 'Storm Flower' to attack Jaune.

Jaune watched, and realized he only had a second to act.

Ren hit Jaune's Aura and was knocked back. He hunched over with his hands on his knees, and he started panting.

Jaune waited as Ren caught his breath.

"Why didn't you take me out?" Ren asked when he caught his breath.

"You were catching your breath."

"You need to learn when to take advantage of your situation."

"Okay. I'll work on that."

"Good. Other than that, you just need more practice."

"Can we spar again?"

"Sure."

"Thanks."

"So." Ruby said. "What did you and Ren do while Jaune and I were training the past few days?"

"Well." Nora said. "We killed Grimm, and I talked about Pancakes."

"Okay. Anything happen?"

"No. Not really. We killed a few Beowulf, some Ursai and a Boarbatusk. Pretty basic."

"Okay."

They walked around the perimeter and had no encounters.

"That was weird." Nora said. "Yesterday there were a ton of Grimm. I guess we got lucky."

Qrow was a ways behind Ruby and Nora. He had killed the Grimm that were following them. "Yeah." He spoke. "Lucky." He took his flask out and took a pull from it before putting it back.

"Guess so." Ruby said. "Let's get some lunch."

"So." The Joker said to Adam. "I guess that this puts you in charge."

"What?" Adam asked.

"I killed her. So, I guess that you're in charge now."

"Why did you kill her?"

"I was bored. Someone I knew was going to come kill her, but I was bored. So, I sent him on a wild goose chase, and took the kill for myself."

"You did this because you were bored?"

"I have to have fun somehow. Now stop talking and take over."

"What will I do?"

"Cause some chaos. Have fun. Do whatever you want to do. After all, you're in charge now." Joker said before leaving.

Adam thought about Blake. "I'm coming for you." He spoke. "I'll take you. Then I'll make you watch as I kill your friends."

Team RNJR walked to the edge of the Village. They had stayed the week and were heading out.

"Thank you." The village leader said. "You have kept our village safe, and for that we thank you."

"You are most welcome." Ren said with a bow.

With that team RNJR headed out on the next leg of their mission.

The following day the village was ransacked by the Branwen bandit tribe and leveled to the ground by a Grimm attack.

Team RNJR was walking through the forest when they came to an empty village.

After determining that no one was there they kept walking.

While they were walking Ren stopped and held his hand up and closed his eyes. Someone was coming. He could feel it.

A man with a braid running down his back jumped from a roof and landed. He attacked each of them before throwing himself through a wall.

"Hey!" Jaune yelled. "We don't want to fight you!"

"A pity." The man said. "Because I want to fight you." He looked around and saw a girl in red with Silver eyes. "I also want to take her eye." He said with manic glee.

Jaune stepped in front of Ruby and readied 'Silent Fury' before aiming at the man and firing.

The man jumped out of the way and lunged at Jaune.

Jaune broke 'Silent Fury' in half making 'Twin Fury' and blocking the man's wrist blades.

"Ooh. You're fun. I think I'll enjoy breaking you."

Jaune slashed at the man's face.

The man pulled his head out of the way and came back just to get head butted by Jaune.

"Ow!" The man complained. "What the hell is your head made of?"

Jaune kicked the man in the balls, but he seemed unaffected.

"That wasn't very nice." The man whined before slashing at Jaune.

The strike hit Jaune's armor with enough force to knock him back.

Ren jumped in and slashed at the man with 'Storm Flower', but the man dodged as if Ren was a fly. He pushed Ren away, and intercepted Nora.

"Ooh. You're strong. Let me guess. You bench 220."

Nora pulled the trigger on 'Magnhild' sending a grenade down on the man.

"No fair. You didn't tell me that we were starting yet."

Nora swung, but the man jumped over her swing.

"Strike one." He dodged another. "Strike two." And another. "Three strikes you're out." He said before kicking Nora away.

Ruby looked at her friends. They had all been taken out so easily. 'Too bad Jason isn't here. He'd have this guy running.'

The man ran at Ruby and danced around her as if she were a child playing tag. "Tag!" The man yelled hitting Ruby and sending her flying. "You're it."

Jaune looked up and saw Ruby flying across the village, and the man following her with his arm blades raised for an attack. "NO!" He yelled.

Ren and Nora looked at Ruby. There was nothing they could do. They were too far apart, and this man could dance circles around them, and now he was going to hurt Ruby.

There was a flash of white, and the man was caught in ice.

"Aren't you glad we showed up?" A familiar voice asked.

"Oh my gosh Weiss!" Ruby yelled.

"It's me you dolt." Weiss said affectionately.

Ruby hugged Weiss. "I'm so happy you're here, but who else did you bring?"

Weiss stepped out of the way to show a boy wearing dark blue with a Wakizashi on his hip, and two unexpected people.

"JASON!" Ruby yelled at the same time Team JNPR yelled "PYRRHA!"

"You guys look tired." Weiss said. "Let us handle this guy."

"He's fast." Ruby said.

"He's agile." Ren added.

"He's strong." Jaune said.

"He wants to take Ruby's eye." Nora added.

"Then let me handle him." Jason said through his helmet. "Weiss, Pyrrha, Whitley. You keep them safe and treat any wounds. After this we can have a reunion."

"So arrogant." The man said before flexing and shattering Weiss's ice, and revealing a scorpion tail.

"So. You're a Faunus, are you?"

"Yeah, and I'm going to be the last Faunus you see."

"Funny." Jason said bitterly before letting out an Alpha Pulse that sent the man to his knees.

"Oh." The man said getting up. "I'm going to have some fun."

The man struck at Jason with his tail only to have Jason back hand it away.

"What?" The man said before swinging at Jason.

Jason blocked the man's strike with his arm.

"No. You shouldn't be able to do that."

"Mix it up then. Give me a challenge. I don't even need to try yet."

The man disappeared into the shadows.

"That's cute." Jason said sarcastically. "I don't need to see you to fight you."

The man exploded out of the shadows and punched Jason in the gut with his arm blades. "Don't make me mad. You won't like me when I'm mad."

"I don't like you now." Jason said matter of factly.

"What? You should be dead!"

Jason stepped back to show that he was in fact very much alive. "What's your name?"

"Tyrian." The man said.

"Well Tyrian. Why do you want to take my sister's eyes?"

"I don't want both of them. Only one."

"Why?"

"Because. She took Cinder's eye."

At the mention of Cinder's name Jason became different.

"You work with Cinder?"

"Yeah. Why do you care?"

Jason kicked Tyrian out of the way before kicking after him sending out a pressure wave.

Tyrian bounced off the floor and rolled before Jason was at him again. He rolled into Jason's legs trying to trip him up. "Ow! What the hell are you made of?"

Jason kicked Tyrian again.

Tyrian caught a pole and spun at Jason kicking him in the face.

Jason's visor fell off sending Jason stumbling.

Weiss saw Jason stumble before looking around. 'Oh no.' She thought. 'Tyrian kicked his visor off.'

"Bahahaha." Tyrian laughed. "Not so tough, now are you?"

Jason needed to reorient himself, but that took time that he didn't have. He sent his touch into overdrive and felt Tyrian running at him. He kicked out, but Tyrian jumped onto his leg, and vaulted behind him before wrapping his Scorpion tail around his neck and pulling, dragging him to the ground.

"Where did all of your bravado go?"

Jason let out another Alpha pulse causing Tyrian to let go.

Jason took his helmet off and threw it before disappearing into a shadow.

Weiss saw Jason's helmet, and ran to grab it.

"Well, well, well." Tyrian said grabbing Weiss. "Come out. Unless you want this girl to die in your place."

Jason stepped out of the shadows and sniffed the air. 'NO! He has Weiss!'

"That's right." Tyrian said pointing his tail at Weiss.

"DON'T!" Jason yelled.

"Try and stop me." Tyrian taunted gleefully.

"I will." Jason said from behind Tyrian.

Tyrian looked behind him and saw the dark sockets of Jason's eyes. "What the hell?"

Jason grabbed Tyrian's tail, and pulled back before punching him in the face. "LEAVE WEISS ALONE!" He yelled before punching Tyrian out of the way.

"Here." Weiss said.

Jason knelt down, and Weiss connected the Visor into place.

Jason looked around as the world came into focus. He saw Tyrian running at him. "Okay." He said harshly. "You want to play it that way. Then let's play."

Tyrian raised his hands and tail ready to strike.

Jason pushed off the ground cracking it under his feet.

Tyrian struck at Jason with his tail stabbing him in the neck.

Jason grabbed Tyrian's tail, and pulled him in. "Nice try." He said before ripping Tyrians tail out from the base of his spine.

"NNOOO!" Tyrian shrieked in agonized pain as his nerve endings caught fire from the pain. He fell to the ground and began writhing.

Jason fell to his knees and flipped Tyrian the bird before passing out.

Tyrian found enough strength to run away before the others got to him.

"JASON!" Ruby yelled.

AN: I based Jaunes Armor off of Bell Cranel's Armor from 'Is it wrong to try and pick-up girls in a dungeon?' I also gave Adam a flashback that could make him a sympathetic Villain, but I doubt he will be one though. Also. Introducing… The Joker. Enjoy.
