Money in the Bank: July 17, 2011
I slipped on my ring gear for tonight. "Now that this match is actually happening, I'm getting nervous."
Randy looks at me as he is lacing his boots. "Rissa, you'll be fine. What spot on the match card are you?"
"Third. You?"
"Sixth. Cena's last."
"Okay. At least we're not back-to-back."
"Yeah. I hate when they do that. I like your gear, especially the colors."
I look down at my green and gold ring gear. "Thanks, babe. I'd tell you that I like your gear too, but you always wear the same black trunks."
"Not the same ones. I have different colored lettering."
"I miss the different color trunks."
Randy laughs. "They're not coming back."
"Okay. Whatever."
"Do you need to go get your hair and makeup done?"
"I can wait a few since only Kharma and I will be the only girls wrestling tonight."
Randy smiles before pulling me into his arms. "Okay. I love you. You'll do amazing tonight. I just ask that you be at least a little careful."
"I'll try."
"Thanks. I'm so proud of you. You'll tear the house down tonight, Rissa."
"I'll try to. I think you'll put on an amazing match tonight too."
"We'll see. I have to make sure that I don't get disqualified."
"I think you'll be fine."
"Thanks." Randy lets go of me. "Go get your hair and makeup done."
I smile. "Okay, babe."
I smile at my best friends while I'm getting my makeup done. "Is it crazy that I'm going into a TLC match against Kharma tonight?"
Chelle smiles. "Honestly, yes, but when you win, you'll take care of the biggest problem in the Divas division."
"That's true."
"You never told me what Randy said about your match. Is that what caused your fight Wednesday night?"
I sigh. "Yeah. Randy said he thought it was a horrible idea. And he got a little mad because I told him it was no different than wrestling Kane or Big Show for him. We're over it now. He was just way too worried about me. He helped me strategize. He also just told me in the locker-room that I'll tear down the house tonight."
Chelle smiles. "That's good."
"Yeah. I'm hoping that things will get better from here. Especially between me and Randy."
"It's crazy that Vance isn't Randy's son." Eve says.
"Yeah. Randy's pretty torn up over it."
"That really sucks." Ryse says. "How does that make you feel now with the whole having kids situation?"
"Actually some things this past week, that I'd rather not talk about right now, made me think about that a lot, and I realized that I want kids myself a lot more than I thought. I want to do better than my mother did too. I'm nervous about it, and I still have to worry about the sacrifices that I have to make. However, I think baby fever is hitting me. Randy's going to be overjoyed about this."
Chelle laughs. "Yeah. I think I feel you about the baby fever. I actually talked to John about it finally."
"And?"
"We're gonna try for a baby."
"Oh my gosh. Yay!"
"I'm so happy for you!" Ryse exclaims.
"This is amazing!" Eve says.
Chelle smiles. "Yeah. I'm excited."
I smile. "Yeah. Now I gotta try asap, so our kids can be baby best friends."
"Definitely."
"The following is a TLC match and is for the WWE Divas Championship!"
("Bad Karma" plays)
Kharma walks down the ramp and into the ring, waiting for me to arrive. She looks around at all the ladders sitting around with a wicked grin on her face. I watch from guerilla.
Randy kisses my cheek. "Good luck, Rissa."
I smile. "Thanks, Randy."
I know I want that girl so bad
I lie awake at night
And think of all the things that I would do
With a girl like that…
I slowly walk to the ring. As I get onto the apron, I stop to look around at all the ladders before stepping into the ring. I pose to the crowd and point to my Divas Championship that is hanging above the ring.
"Introducing first, the challenger, Kharma!"
Kharma poses and glares at me.
"And her opponent, from Saint Louis, Missouri, she is the WWE Divas Champion, Marissa Orton!"
I smile and pose once more to the crowd before looking right back at Kharma.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
I look at Kharma, who looks directly back at me. We both watch each other, trying to figure out what move to make. Kharma runs at me, trying to knock me down. I run to avoid her body running at me, but she grabs my neck and hits me with a Chokeslam. I land on the ring mat hard. Kharma rolls out of the ring, and I hear her pull something out of under the ring.
The next thing I know, I feel a steel chair get slammed on me. I open my eyes and groan in pain. Kharma hits me with the chair again, and I yell in pain. Kharma then picks me up and hits an Implant Buster on the chair. As I lay in pain, I see Kharma go get a ladder from outside the ring. I slowly roll out to the other side. As she goes to set the ladder up in the ring, I grab a ladder of my own and roll back inside the ring. Kharma, without seeing me, starts climbing up the ladder she has set up. I run over and hit her in the back with my ladder. She falls off the ladder onto the mat.
I run at Kharma, but she picks me up and drops me with a Running Powerslam, onto the ladder that had fallen out of my hands when she had picked me up. She then starts hitting me with the steel chair once more. Kharma rolls out of the ring and brings a table back in. She sets it up in the corner and grabs me. Kharma goes to throw me through the table, but I escape from her and use her momentum to throw her through the table instead. I smile as her body lays in the pieces of table. I then go to climb up the ladder.
I make it all the way up the ladder and feel my fingertips on my Divas Championship when a chair comes across my back. I slightly fall down the ladder. Kharma grabs me and lifts me up onto her shoulders before hitting an Electric Chair to put me through a table.
Kharma cackles at me before going to walk away. I manage to wrap my legs around her ankle. Kharma leans down to go to pry my legs off, so I sit up and get her with a thumb to the eye. While Kharma is holding her eye, I Superkick her. She falls into the ropes. I then hit a Running Clothesline, knocking us both to the outside of the ring.
I give a small smile as a "this is awesome" chant broke out.
Both Kharma and I slowly get up…I am a little quicker so I drop her once more with a Running Knee. I then go to grab a chair from under the ring, but I smile as I find something else that interests me…brass knuckles. I grab the brass knuckles and hide them before grabbing the chair I originally came for. I slam the chair against Kharma's spine twice. When I go for a third one, she grabs the chair from me and breaks the chair. She then runs at me and knocks me down. She picks me up and Powerbombs me onto the steel steps.
As I lay on the steel steps, Kharma starts throwing in multiple chairs, two tables, and one more ladder. She then grabs me and rolls me back into the ring before coming back in the ring herself.
Kharma lifts me up to Powerbomb me through a table, but I escape from her. As I go to hit her, she picks me right back up and successfully Powerbombs me through the table. Kharma cackles and goes to adjust some things. She sets up the other table approximately ten feet from the ladder then puts one of the ends of the other ladder on the table and laying on the other end between the rungs of one side of the original ladder. Kharma starts climbing the other side of the ladder slowly while looking at me.
Once her attention goes completely on the ladder, I start to get up. Kharma is about to make it to the top of the ladder. I make it over to the bottom of the ladder as Kharma makes it to the top. I climb up the same side behind her and start hitting her back. Kharma stops reaching for the Divas Championship and kicks at me. I avoid them and kick her in the back of the knee. She then punches me and moves so she's standing on the very top of the ladder. I climb further up as Kharma attempts to step on my hands. I move my hands quick enough to avoid her. My moving up forces Kharma to move parallel to me on the other side of the ladder.
We both look at each other. She hits me with a Right Hand. I stumble but keep myself on the ladder. I punch her, and she barely budges. She hits me with another Right, and I am forced down a couple steps of the ladder. While Kharma attempts to reach the Divas Championship, I remember the brass knuckles.
I pull the brass knuckles out of my ring boot that I had hidden them in and smile. "One chance, don't blow it."
I climb back up to the top of the ladder as Kharma's fingertips touch my Divas Championship. She stops and looks at me. Without a second thought, I punch her as hard as I can with my right hand that also has the brass knuckles on. Kharma is knocked unconscious and falls off the ladder I'm on and through the ladder she had set up to block climbing up the other side.
I stand there and look at Kharma shocked before tossing the brass knuckles down to the ground. I climb up to the very top of the ladder and successfully retrieve my Divas Championship to a chorus of deafening cheers.
"Here is your winner and STILL the WWE Divas Champion, Marissa Orton!"
I smile in relief as I still stand atop the ladder and hold the Divas Championship up in the air.
I walk backstage right into Randy's arms. "Hi, baby. I did it."
Randy hugs me and holds me close as my head finds itself on his chest. "You did it."
"I think I'm in shock."
"You did amazing."
"Thanks. I'm gonna be so sore after the adrenaline wears off."
Randy gives me a soft laugh. "Probably. After the show is over, we can go to the hotel and have some rest and relaxation. I'll even ice your back because you took it pretty hard out there. Steel steps, chair shots, tables, and ladders…they ain't gonna let you compete this week."
I smile. "I know. But it's worth it."
I sit in my locker-room with the friends, except John, after I had changed into sweats to watch Randy's championship match against Christian.
Eve smiles as she sits next to me as we watch the match. "You did amazing. Congrats on the win."
"Thanks. Unfortunately, the adrenaline has worn off, so now I'm feeling the pain." I reply.
"Here. I'm banged up from my Money in the Bank Ladder match." Cody passes me an ice pack. "But you look worse."
I smile and take it. "Thanks."
Chelle smiles at me. "You know you aren't going to be cleared to compete for the next week. Right?"
"I know, but, like I told Randy, it was worth it. Kharma shouldn't be a problem any more."
"That's good."
I watch as Christian spits in Randy's face. "Oh no."
Randy proceeds to kick Christian in the groin, calling for a disqualification, which, per the stipulation, made Christian the champion.
"Here is your winner and the NEW World Heavyweight Champion, Christian!"
