Randy and I walk into the rental that we will be staying in during our honeymoon. I stand just inside the rental in awe. Randy closes the door behind us.
"If we just stand here," I say quietly. "I can reminisce about what happened after our first date."
"I didn't get roses, candles, or wine at all." He replies.
"Yeah, but I think about that because you were surprising me then. I didn't know what I was getting into today. However, I love this already, and I love you."
"I love you too. As nice as this is, you can enjoy it later. We have a couples massage in an hour, and we should probably get there at least a little bit early."
I turn to look at him. "Did you just say couples massage?"
"Yes. Why?"
"I never in my life thought I'd hear you say that."
"Well it's more for you than me."
"I figured."
Randy smiles at me. "I'm gonna put our bags in the bedroom. Stay out here because I've got a surprise in there for you, but I want to do that after the couples massage."
"Oh okay."
Randy kisses my cheek before heading to the bedroom. I watch him walk away with a small smile.
I smile at Randy after we get back from our couples massage. "Can I have my surprise now?"
He sighs. "I guess, you impatient woman." He pulls me into his arms and kisses me while also moving us towards the bedroom.
We stop kissing and enter the bedroom. There's rose petals everywhere, candles, wine and drinking glasses.
"I should've known." I mutter. "You totally lied earlier."
"I lied to keep the element of surprise." Randy whispers. "You'll forgive me."
"Will I?"
"If not immediately, you will soon enough because all of my plans for us make one hell of an apology."
"Honestly, I'll let that slide. But only because this has already been absolutely amazing."
Randy smiles as he grabs his swimming trunks. "I'm putting my best effort into this. It's our honeymoon. Change into your bikini."
"Why?"
"I've got one more thing up my sleeve right now, so just change."
I roll my eyes. "Okay."
After we both change into swimwear, Randy escorts me out of the bedroom and opens the door to the patio. There's a hot tub.
I smile. "Baby, you are really trying to get the stress relief in. We have this at home though."
"We have this at home where all of our friends are staying. And your brother and the wicked witch of the west were staying." Randy says before getting in the hot tub and pulling me in.
I sit next to him. "Okay. Fair enough."
Randy grabs my shoulders and rubs them. "No offense to any of our friends and family, but I prefer just spending time with you."
"I would hope so. I'm the one you chose to marry."
"You're too amazing for me not to. I'm in love with you, and I wasn't allowing anyone else to take up my place in your bed ever again. That asshole who you dated your first year of college, Chris, Daniel. I wasn't having any more of that shit. I've been in love with you for years. I'm never letting you go."
I smile as I lean in closer to Randy. "That's nice to hear. Honestly, if you hadn't been sleeping around so much and maybe if the RKO Incident didn't happen, I probably would've went for you at some point. Feelings were there. I just didn't really fully realize it and pushed them away after the RKO, but things happen for a reason. That wasn't quite our time. I do have a curiosity about one thing though."
"What is it?"
"A while ago at a SmackDown filming, Cody mentioned that you were going to ask me out, which you said was to ask me out on a date, the same night that we ended up getting together. Obviously, you wouldn't have kissed me to get Chris to go away and risk that without you already being ready to. We're married, and it doesn't really matter. However, I'm really curious about what caused you to want to go for it and actually ask me out."
Randy chuckles. "Fair enough. Um…we were rooming together, just to be certain we're on the same page I'm specifying this was when we were forced by Stephanie to room together in 2009 and not when we had the meet and greet in 2007 or the week or so after you broke up with Chris in 2008, but um…we were rooming together and watching some chick flick that you wanted to watch, no idea which one because I didn't really care. Anyway, we were watching that chick flick and sitting on the couch together, and I realized I had absolutely no problems with you and the same for you with me. That made me start to consider it. Then, you fell asleep on the couch before the movie was over. I actually let it finish because I was in my thoughts too much to be paying attention. It finished, and I saw you sleeping. You looked so content and happy. I decided not to wake you up and let you sleep. I got you a pillow and covered you with a blanket. When I did that, I just stopped to look at you. You looked beautiful even in your sleep, hair in your face and all. I just watched you for awhile, things haven't really changed since I still do that, and I was happy. Before I went to bed, I just brushed your hair out of your face and kissed your forehead. Never told you about that. I don't know why I did it. I never had the thought. I just did, but my lips touched your forehead. You were just so beautiful and amazing, and I swear I see you get even more beautiful and more amazing everyday. At that moment, Rissa, I told myself that you were all I wanted and that I was going to have you. I decided to ask you out on a date whenever I found the right time. I told Cody and Ted that I was going to take a chance and try. They didn't know that I had feelings for you for that long and didn't think I was being serious. I got you up to that bar to get drinks, just with me, and knew that was my chance. I was really anxious about it, but you didn't notice me being nervous. Then, Chris came around and was being a douchebag. He made that comment about making sure you didn't have another boyfriend, and emotions took control of me. I told him you already did, which was technically a lie, and I kissed you. It felt so amazing and right. I don't know how you felt at that moment, but that's what I felt. Luckily, I got it together and admitted my feelings to you, and it worked. I feel like that was really long. My bad."
I lean in even closer to him and kiss him. "Don't ever apologize for telling me a story for a while. I was hanging on all of your words, Randy. Plus, I love hearing your voice."
He smiles. "That makes me feel better. Your turn. Tell me a story."
"What do you want to know?"
He thinks for a moment. "Hmm…tell me why you let me do it. Let me just admit my feelings and go with it. Just jumping into something was never your kind of thing."
"There isn't much of a story there. You're hot. Feelings were in there and apparently mutual. You would definitely not get scared off. I gave it a chance. I have no regrets about doing so."
Randy laughs. "You start with saying that I'm hot. Like I don't know that. You're hot enough to have me though."
I blush. "Thanks. Anyway, I um…I did want to talk to you about something."
Randy pulls me onto his lap. "Okay. What's up?"
"Don't take me wrong, I swear I want it, but this baby thing…is it weird that I'm nervous about it? Like nervous about sacrificing my job at least for a while and nervous about carrying a child? Like I want it so much, but I'm still nervous about it."
Randy looks at me with a gentle smile. "There's nothing wrong about that. Like I said before, Rissa, just jumping into something isn't your kind of thing. It's normal to be nervous. I get why you are. Sacrificing the in-ring part of your job is going to be hard when WWE has been your life for the past seven years. Plus, you'll have to be out of the ring for your whole pregnancy and then some, so that's like at least a year minimum. You're nervous, and that's okay. As for you being nervous about carrying a child, that's most likely because you've never been pregnant. That's also okay. Listen, honey, if you're having too many nerves about it after you end up losing your Divas Championship, then we can wait awhile. I want it, but I don't want it forced on you. We're in this together. Take all the time you need to be really ready for it."
I nod. "Okay."
I let Randy walk me down to the beach. He held my hand tightly. I figured it was another surprise up his sleeve. As we make it to the beach, I notice that no one else is around. I then see a dimly lit up area with a picnic set up.
"Randy…" I whisper. "You gotta stop with this surprising me stuff. I'm gonna have to keep thanking you."
"I'm treating you exactly how you deserve to be treated…like the queen you are. Let me do it." Randy replies. "Turn real quick though so we can get our picture taken. I had them here for a few for that, so we could have pictures."
Randy turns me, so we can get a few pictures taken. As the photographer leaves, I get my phone out and take pictures of the picnic setup.
"What are you doing?" Randy asks.
"Taking pictures that I can post and show the girls when I totally brag about this." I reply with a huge smile.
"Okay. Brag all you want about me." Randy proceeds to pick me up and carry me over to the picnic. "I'm spoiling you."
I smile as he still holds me. "I do like being spoiled."
Randy sets me down. "I know. I love you."
I look at everything in front of me. "I love you too. I enjoy doing all this with you."
Randy opens up the food for the picnic. "That's lovely to hear, Rissa. What do you want? I got you sushi, shrimp, chicken, steak…anything I could think of."
"Pass me some sushi. You know I absolutely love sushi. Wait, did you cook it?"
Randy laughs. "No. You're safe."
"Okay. Pass me some sushi."
He passes some sushi to me and grabs himself some steak. "Here, baby. Eat some sushi."
I take it. "Thanks. I love you."
"I love you too."
"I wish we'd do this more often. Just do things alone."
"I know. We'll change that."
"Okay. You're amazing."
"Thank you. I love hearing this. Say it more. Tell me how amazing I am all the time."
I finished my sushi. "You. Are. Amazing."
Randy grins. "Still love hearing that. You hear from the others at all?"
"No. I told them to only bug us if there was an emergency."
"That's good. I should've thought of telling them that. Glad you did."
"I think ahead a lot."
"You sure do." Randy finished his steak. "I love you."
"I love you too."
Randy pours out champagne for us to drink. "When I decided to go all in with a relationship with you, I had all these romantic gestures that I wanted to do for you. I'm so glad I have gotten to do them all now. Except Disney. I'm taking you to Disney."
I drink my champagne. "Okay. I'm glad that you like doing romantic gestures. I love romantic gestures. Sometimes I feel like I don't do enough of those for you."
"Please, you do plenty. You treat me well. You cook for me constantly even though I would do it. You do an amazing job as a wife, and you're very supportive. I love you. Leave romantic gestures to me."
I nod. "Okay. As for the cooking thing, I'm doing that for both of us. I love you too."
"Yeah. My cooking sucks. Anyway, you gonna be tired after this?"
"Probably not. Why?"
"Because you and I should go spend some time together in the bedroom."
"Why…oh. Oh. I know. Yeah. We should go spend some time together in the bedroom. Wine, roses, candles. We can watch a movie."
"Rissa, that isn't what I meant."
"I know, but you got annoyed. That was my purpose."
Randy gives me an annoyed look as we both finish our champagne. "Well it wasn't funny."
"I thought it was."
Randy pulls me closer to him. "Shut up and kiss me."
"What if I don't…" I get cut off with Randy kissing me.
Randy wraps his arms around me and pulls me onto his lap. I return the kissing and wrap my arms around him.
"We should stop for a few, so I can clean this up." Randy whispers.
"Just when I was getting into this too." I mutter.
Randy looks over at me. "Give me a few, and I'll pick up exactly where we left off."
"Exactly?"
"Exactly."
"Do you want help?"
"Nope."
"Should I stop taking birth control pills now if we're trying for a baby soon?"
Randy stops and looks at me. "How many pills do you have left right now?"
"Like four. Oh my god, I have exactly enough to finish this trip, and I won't have one for Monday and Tuesday."
"I guess you'll stop after you take the four. How long have you been on birth control? It's gonna be weird not asking if you took it."
"Since the scare in 2009."
"That's what I thought. Anyway, I'm done cleaning up, and I know I said I'd continue exactly where we left off. However, I think it's time for us to head to that bedroom."
I smile as he pulls me back into his arms. "The bedroom it is."
