Chapter 9

Anna smiled when Robin came into her bedroom and crawled into bed with her. "Good morning, what brings you in here this morning?"

"I woke up and wanted to see you," Robin said as she put her arm around her. "This is really our home now. When will Daddy move in with us."

Anna smiled, "Since I was granted my divorce yesterday, I think it might not be that much longer before we all get to be a family." Anna was so excited about what comes next. It's only a matter of time before she and Robert get married now. They are going to get to have a life together, they are going to have another baby soon and they are both going to be there. They get to raise Robin together now.

Robin snuggled in and moved her arm a little, she stopped when she felt the bump, then moved her hand over, resting her hand just above Anna's belly button. "Mommy, why's your tummy is getting bigger?"

Anna smiled, she knew it wouldn't be long before people started to notice. She hadn't even thought about Robin figuring it out because she was giving her a hug or cuddling with her. "I am getting a bigger tummy, and it will keep getting bigger for about six more months. Then you will meet your little brother or sister."

"You're having a baby?"

"Yes I am, and your Daddy is the father."

"But you aren't married to Daddy."

"I know we aren't, not yet, but we followed our hearts and that led to us making another baby out of our love for each other, just like you."

"Is that why Daddy bought us this house? Does he know about the baby?"

"Yes, he knows. He bought his family a home, this is our house, the Scorpio House. Just because he isn't living here yet doesn't change that. He wants us to be married before our baby gets here but he wanted you and I to have somewhere to live until then. We want to be husband and wife before he moves in here."

Robin smiled happily, she was very excited about this. Then suddenly she felt a little sad too, "I'm going to miss Uncle Duke."

"I know you will and I know he misses you. I had to do what was right for me, what was right for you. There are things that Duke is involved with that I don't want you anywhere near. I don't want you involved in that part of his life at all. He promised me that he would leave that all behind but he couldn't. Then there was the fighting," Anna smiled to herself, "through all of that I had someone that was there for me no matter what. That man is who I'm meant to be with, who I always should have been with and now we get to be."

"It's cute when you and Daddy cuddle and he kisses you," Robin said with a grin. "Daddy loves you very much, I know he does. "

"Yes he does, and I love him very much as well. When we are ready people will know about our baby but for right now I'm just happy you know about it. This can be our happy secret, for now. Usually, expectant mothers wait a little while before they tell people."

"Okay." Robin smiled and cuddled in closer to Anna's tummy, "Hi, I'm your big sister, we are going to have so much fun when you get here."

Anna smiled and stroked her hair, she really was glad Robin knew. "I guess we should get up, you have school and I have to get to work."

"Alright." Slowly Robin got out of bed, followed by Anna. When they went downstairs Olin was just getting there, "Good morning, Olin."

"Hi Robin, morning Chum. I gotta say I love the new digs. Might take me longer to keep clean but I like the upgrade."

"Can I tell Olin, Mommy?"

Anna glanced over at Olin and grinned, she should know too. "I guess you can."

"Olin, Mommy and Daddy are having another baby. I'm going to be a big sister!"

Olin smiled over at Anna knowingly, "I thought that was what might be going on with you. I didn't want to say anything but some morning, you were pretty green Chum."

Anna smiled, she wasn't sure if she had hidden the morning sickness from Olin or not, apparently not. "Nothing compared to what I went through with Robin, it's starting to get much better now too."

Olin walked over and hugged Anna then touched Anna's stomach realizing she already had a little bump, "You say it's the commish's?" Olin asked quietly.

"It is his, please don't ask me to explain right now," she said as she glanced at Robin.

"You got it." She knew this was not something Anna wanted to talk about in front of Robin. Olin liked Duke but she knew their marriage hadn't been healthy for either of them, even if they did love each other. She didn't know what all had gone on but Anna must be about three months along if her morning sickness was getting better, was she almost in her second trimester? If Robert is the baby's father and Duke had only moved out a little over two months ago there'd been some hanky panky going on. Olin wouldn't ask, but if Anna wants to tell her she will listen. Seeing both Anna and Robin this happy, she knew Anna had made the right choice for them.

The topic quickly changed as they all went about starting their days. After Anna and Robin had had their breakfast Anna dropped her off at school on her way to work. She felt free this morning, she will get the life she wants with Robert, they can get married and now Robin knows about the baby as well. She let out a content sigh as she got out of her car at the office ready to take on the day.

That afternoon, when Duke showed up at her office Anna was very surprised to see him, she had no idea he was even in Port Charles. She stood up as he walked through her door. "What are you doing here?"

"I came here because we need to talk," Duke said, as he walked further into the office.

"If you would answer any of my phone calls you wouldn't have to fly here to talk to me."

"This needs to be done in person. I got in late last night." He looked at her with such sadness in his eyes. "Angel gave me your keys to our house."

"That is no longer where I live and I wanted you to have your keys back." Anna was standing by her desk, she was not going to back down. He has to understand that he can no longer tell her what she should do.

"You want your own space, is that what this is about? I thought I had given you space. Anna, I know we can work through this, you just have to give me a chance to prove that."

"You ignore my phone calls, you never return a single call. How is that working on our relationship? I don't want to work on anything, I have moved on. I am going to marry Robert and we will be a family."

"No, Anna. you aren't. You need to listen to me. You are my wife, that's final."

Duke had left her office door open when he got there and Sean had come back while they were talking. "I think it's time you leave, Duke. Anna does not need you here causing her stress while she is trying to work. I do not need you here upsetting my partner." Sean didn't think Duke knew about the baby yet but he didn't want Anna getting worked up either so he had to do something to get Duke to back off.

Duke turned and looked at him, "Sean this is none of your business."

"Actually, it is my business. That's my business partner you're yelling at and since we have an appointment to keep, I don't need you upsetting her."

Duke looked back over at Anna who had picked up a file, "I have what we need here. When are they expecting us?"

"In forty-five minutes, but we do have to leave soon," Sean responded.

"Anna, I am not done talking to you," Duke insisted.

"If you want to talk I will come by the club this evening. We will talk downstairs in the club and you will be civil or I will get up and walk out."

He looked back at Sean, he had folded his arms across his chest and was just watching Duke now. Sean was not going to let them continue their conversation. "That's fine, I will see you later then." Duke turned and walked out of her office and right out the main door.

Anna dropped the file back on her desk, "That was just about the fact I had returned his house keys, what is he going to do when he finds out the divorce is final?"

"How long before you get the papers?" Sean asked.

"Janet said it should take a little over a week just for all the paperwork to go through then it will be done."

"That's not too bad then." Sean reached out and took her left hand, "No ring there yet, wonder what he's waiting for?" he teased.

"I didn't get an engagement ring last time."

"Hey the WSB was nice enough to provide the wedding bands, we couldn't think of everything," he said, making her laugh even as a feeling of regret cut through him. They are getting a second chance but there are still parts of their past that could come back to hunt them. Sean hated what he had done but can he tell her, can he tell them about his part in what happened in Paris? Anna was now talking happily about their new home so Sean started paying attention. "I just have to make a phone call then we should get going," Sean said then turned to go into his office. Anna picked up her phone as well, she wanted to call Robert now.

Robert went over to their house after work. Anna had called to tell him about Duke coming to the office. About Sean kicking him out before they got into an argument and that she had plans to meet with him later to talk. Robert had offered to go with her but they both knew it was better if he didn't. Instead, he would come over and spend the evening with Robin and finish getting their home office set up.

He walked in and smiled seeing Robin there watching TV. "Hi, Daddy," she smiled over at him. "I didn't know you were coming over."

"Yup, I'm here for the evening," he told her and they smiled at each other. After putting down his things he walked over and sat beside Robin putting an arm around her shoulder. "What did you do today?"

Robin grinned, "I talked to Mommy's tummy. I'm going to be a big sister," she said excitedly.

"I know you are, that's big news isn't it?"

"Yes, but mostly it's exciting."

Robert laughed, he loved that she was excited about being a big sister. This is a lot of change for her to go through all at once and so far she seemed to be handling it very well. "I like coming home to you after work," Robert said, hugging her a little tighter to his side and kissed the top of her head.

"I can't wait until you live here and come home every day, like when you stayed with Mommy and me before in our other house."

Robert shifted a little beside her then said, "Well, I better figure out how to use this then." Robin looked down and saw a beautiful diamond ring in his hand. "Robin, I want to marry your mother. I want to be here for both of you all the time. Is it alright with you if I asking Mommy to marry me again?"

She looked up at him, a huge smile on her face but there were tears in her eyes. "Yes, Daddy. I want you to marry Mommy! Then we finally get to be a family." Robin hugged him tightly, she couldn't believe what an amazing day this is. First, she finds out she's going to be a big sister, now this. Her Daddy had just asked her if it was okay with her if he marries her Mommy.

"Don't tell her about the ring, okay. I want it to be special but I don't want to wait much longer either."

"I won't say anything," Robin said and they shook on it.

A short time later Anna came home, she smiled seeing Robert and Robin sitting together watching cartoons. She can't wait for this to be an everyday thing for them, joy spreads through her as she walks over to them, "Hi sweety." She gave Robin a kiss on the cheek then stepped over to Robert. "Hi, I like that you are here to come home to." Then she kissed him lightly, she lingered then kissed him a little longer.

Had she meant to kiss him like that? That was more than just a little hello kiss. Robert resisted pulling her into his arms. When the kiss ended Anna gave him a wink and a mischievous smile as she started to stand up straight. "I am looking forward to this," Robert said as he took her hand so she wouldn't walk away.

"So am I. I want to have dinner before I have to go out again."

"Olin is already making dinner," Robin told them.

"Oh good." She looked at Robert who was still holding her hand, "Are you wearing a suit to set up my office?" she asked with a little grin.

"No, I have clothing here to change into. Can we talk about your visitor?"

"Yeah," she looked over at Robin who was already paying attention to the cartoon again. "We'll be back down in a bit."

Robert stood up, "When did it become your office?"

As they made their way to the stair Anna looked over her shoulder, "Well, for now, I'm the one living here, so it's my office. Don't worry I'll let you use it if you ask nicely."

"Oh, I see how it is," he said with a smile and gave her a playful swat on the bottom. Anna giggled as she made her way up the stairs. She walked straight to their room, turning when she heard the door close behind them. Robert pulled her into his arms and kissed her passionately. Anna's hands moved across his back, then along his chest to his tie. She loosened it then started on his shirt buttons. "What did I do to deserve this welcome home?"

Robert took off his jacket as she untucked his shirt. "It feels amazing coming home, finding you here already. Then as soon as I kissed you." She kissed him again, it was full of the desire she was feeling. "I need you, Robert." She kissed him, biting his bottom lip slightly. "I can't wait until later, I want you now."

Robert picked her up and carried her to the bed. Their clothing quickly removed after he'd put her down. Anna kissed him hard, oh how she needed this man. When his hand moved past her center he felt how wet she already was, Anna moaned his name as he started to rub her sensitive mound. The pleasure he could hear in her voice was like a drug, he wanted to do whatever it took to hear it again. He moved between her legs and started rubbing his tip across her folds, she arched up, wanting more. Needing his touch needed to feel him. "Aahhh! Yes!" Robert slid his full length inside her. "Oh, Robert!"

"Sshhh, baby we have to be quiet," he said as he started moving his hips a little faster.

"You feel so good." She put her head back as Robert pushed himself up on his hands, arching his back. "Oh god!" He thrust harder, neither of them wanted tender right now. This was about need, physical, primal need. Anna reached up touching his chest, then pushing him back. Robert smiled and rolled them over.

Now straddling him, Anna smiled down at him as she slowly started to rock back on forth. Biting her bottom lip, the desire in his eyes turning her on even more. She started moving a little fast, "You sexy thing." His hand moved up her stomach to her breast. "I've been fantasizing about you for years."

"Was I doing this?"

Robert started thrusting, matching her movements. He felt her start to unravel as she leaned forwards on his chest, moaning into his neck. "Oh Robert, don't stop. Oh, don't stop." Kissing his shoulder as she spoke, then she bit down by the base of his neck so she wouldn't scream out in ecstasy.

Robert's release followed right after. "Anna! Aaaahh! Yes!" Breathing heavily, he put his head back, Anna still on his chest.

As their breathing returned to normal, Anna started gently kissing his neck again. "Sorry, I seem to have left a mark," then she giggled.

Robert smiled, "Leave marks, I don't mind, that was amazing." He touched her chin so she would look up at him. "Please tell me that was because of pregnancy hormones and I can look forward to this kind of activity happening again."

Anna started laughing, "I think you get to look forward to this kind of thing happening again."

"Oh goody." They both laughed again then Robert leaned in and kissed her tenderly. "I think we should get dressed."

"Yeah, as much as I don't want to, I think you might be right," Anna said with a grin then started to get up. After they were both dressed Anna looked up at Robert and smiled then started playing with his collar, "It shouldn't show, well, unless you loosen your tie."

"I will try to keep that in mind." Since he hadn't bothered even buttoning the top two buttons Anna knew he didn't care tonight.

As they started moving towards the bedroom door Anna said, "I am not looking forward to this conversation with Duke."

"He will have to accept that you were granted the divorce."

Anna scoffed, "I didn't even tell him that. He was upset just because I returned the house keys. That's why this evening we are talking in a public place that he will not want to cause a scene in."

"That is a very good idea. I still wish I could be there for you."

"You being here for me when I get home is what I need tonight. I know this isn't going to go well."

Robert knew she was right, he kissed her lovingly. "I'll be here," then they left the bedroom hand in hand.

After they had finished eating and spent a little time together Anna kissed them both then left for the club, she wanted to get this over with. Duke will hear her out, she was determined that that will happen. When Anna entered Duke's she was a little relieved it was Angel working the door.

"Hello Anna, it's nice to see you. Duke was wondering if you would like to talk up in his office, that's where he is, on a call at the moment."

"No, thank you. I told him we would talk in the club. I can wait and if he actually wants to talk he'll come down."

Angel nodded, he was proud of her for standing her ground. He had grown to really care for Anna and he understood her reasons for leaving Duke. He didn't think it was right that she's already dating Scorpio, but that wasn't his business. He did know he'd be as angry as Duke if some broad did that to him, though. "Alright, I'll show you to your table."

"Thank you." Anna touched his arm, "I did what was right for me."

With a shrug of his shoulder and a little nod, "I know." He couldn't fault her for the choice she made.

It was about ten minutes later that Duke came and joined her. "Sorry, I was on a business call. I wasn't sure when you would get here."

"That's alright. I wasn't sure either."

"Thank you for coming. Did you eat?"

"Yes, with Robin." She didn't need to upset him by telling him Robert was there as well.

"How is she? I miss her."

"She's great. She's excited about a new house and she's happy. You should call her, she misses her Uncle Duke."

"Do I have your phone number or has that changed?" Duke had told himself several times this evening that he had to remain calm while they spoke. He can't stand the idea of her leaving him and thinking of her and Scorpio, the rage just starts to burn inside him. He knew they needed to actually talk about what has happened between them.

"Oh right, sorry." She pulled out her pen and wrote her new number on a napkin. "I know she would like to talk to you."

"Why did you move out of our home?" Duke knew he had to control his temper, he couldn't start yelling if she says something he doesn't want to hear. He can't storm out if she tells him the truth he doesn't want to believe.

"That house isn't my home any longer." She leaned closer so they wouldn't be overheard. "We didn't get the life we wanted, I will never accept that you are involved with organized crime. That was never the life I wanted. Maybe we should have waited longer before we got married, maybe we never would have and we wouldn't be here now."

"You really believe it was a mistake to marry me? We love each other."

"Loved," she corrected. "Was getting married a mistake?" She sighed and shrugged a little. "If we had been engaged or just dating when Putnam took me would you have gone to Julian for help?"

"Yes, I would have done whatever it took to find you."

Anna put her hand to her head, he still doesn't get it. Getting indebted to the Jerome's was what led to all the fighting. There was no need for him to use those connections, to get more involved with them. "Then we still would have been in the same place we are now." Duke knew she had a point, married or not he would have made the same choices and they would have fought about the same things. "I moved out of your house because I don't belong there now. Robin and I are going to have a life with Robert. I wish you would accept that I am doing what is right for me. I am happy now. Truly happy, Duke."

Duke felt his anger start to build and took a few deep breaths. Why should he accept she's happy with another man? She is his wife, damn it! "We took vows, Anna. For better or worse, till death do us part."

"Yes, and you made promises you couldn't keep."

"You just have to give me more time."

"No, I don't."

"Anna," Duke leaned even closer to her. "I am your husband."

"No, you aren't. I was granted the divorce yesterday, you should be receiving the finalized papers in a week or two."

"What?" It came out louder than he had expected. He glanced around to see if anyone had looked over at them.

"I filed for a contested divorce and went in front of a judge to plead my case and was granted a divorce. I am no longer your wife."

"No, that can't be true."

"Yes, it is. I don't want anything from you, I didn't request anything. We only took our belongings from the house." Duke could only stare at her in disbelief. "Duke, I know this isn't what you wanted but did you really want to force me to stay married to you? It wouldn't have changed anything I would still be with Robert and we would have ended up hating each other in the end." She could see him struggling to control his temper. "I think we've said enough for one night."

Still having a hard time believing this was really happening Duke nodded, "Yeah, I think you're right."

"I should go." Anna got up and left. She didn't want to stick around, they hadn't argued but she knew once Duke had time to think he'd want to have another discussion and she just knew there will be anger when that happens. Once she was outside she took a deep breath, then smiled. She gets to go home to Robert now.

When she got home, the house was quiet. She knew Olin had left but where was Robert. It made her smile when she found him laying on Robin's bed with her snuggled in right beside him sound asleep, her arm across his chest. "Hey Scorpio," Anna whispered as she leaned against the door frame.

"A little help here. I don't want to wake her up," he whispered back.

Anna couldn't help but smile, this is so adorable. "Kiss her forehead as you whisper good night then slide out from under her arm."

Robert leaned down and kissed Robin on the forehead, "Goodnight sweetheart, I love you." As he started to move he was surprised to find she had loosened her hold on him a little and he was able to get up. Pleased that that had worked he walked over to Anna, "Nice little trick, I've been laying there for quite a while so thanks.

"You're welcome but don't expect me to tell you all my tricks. When this one gets here you can figure some out of your own."

Robert hugged her, "I hope you'll at least give me a few pointers."

Her hands moved behind his neck as she smiled up at him. "I guess I will." She gave him a quick kiss then they turned and walked back down the hall and back downstairs so they could talk. Once they were in the living Robert sat down on the couch, Anna sat beside him as he put his arms around her, turning so she was leaning against his chest. "He knows I got the divorce."

Robert kissed her neck, "That's good. You seem relaxed, does that mean there was no arguing?"

"No arguing, I also left right after he knew so there wouldn't be any yelling." Robert nodded, understanding completely. "I'm sure I'll be seeing him again soon." Anna put her head back on his shoulder getting more comfortable as his hand moved to her baby bump. "This is nice."

"Yes, it is." He pulled up her top so his hand was on her bare skin. "When will he start kicking?"

Anna grinned, they both tended to refer to the baby as a boy. It would be wonderful to give Robert a son but another little girl, oh that would be wonderful too, she would be so adorable Anna thought happily. "I've started feeling little flutters once in a while so it shouldn't be that much longer."

Robert smiled, he was looking forward to feeling this baby kick. He hated that he had missed that with Robin, that he had missed so much with her. "I am so excited about the baby and I want to experience everything with you this time but I don't want Robin to feel left out or upset that I'm here for her sibling but wasn't for her."

"You are a wonderful father and she loves you. Robin knows about the baby and now I think we all get to be excited about the baby. You always spend time with her and she knows you love her. Of course, you are going to be excited about being here this time around, I think Robin will understand that too."

"I guess I'm a little nervous, I don't want to make mistakes."

"You won't." Anna closed her eyes and relaxed into Robert a little more. It wasn't long before she was feeling very sleepy.

"I think it's time for me to get going. You need your sleep." Anna turned in his arms and kissed him lovingly. "You head up to bed, Luv. I'll make sure everything's locked up before I leave."

"Alright, see you tomorrow. I love you."

"I love you too." Anna got up and Robert watched her head up the stairs then got up himself to lock up. As he left the house he smiled to himself. It felt good knowing it wouldn't be much longer until his family were all living together.

AN: Thanks for all the reviews. Glad you're enjoying this story. What do you think? Boy or Girl?
