However, the issue of him never being seen with Jane seems to be a bone of contention for some folks. It's to the point where when you Google Tony and Jane, pictures of Tony and Tess or Ana show up. Which just speaks to how rare an appearance with Jane occurs. If he's not escorted by one of his girls, he has Liz on his arm, and before the public relations push it would've been Kerry.
When thinking about the situation more, and chatting with Judy about it as well. They both knew it was only a matter of time before something would happen to force them into a rather impossible position. It's a decision she didn't come to lightly, and neither did Tony.
Despite all of the problems they'd experienced with Jane as of late. She'd recently been asking for Tony to show up for her at various, long standing family events. Prior to the issue of the Terry phenomenon, he'd always make it a point to decline. But, at the push of his publicist. He began to give in, and Kerry and Tony dealt with the fact that he had to spend more time with Jane. Preferably being photographed as much as possible together to settle the rumors.
Although she did attend some events here and there, and allowed some photos to be taken. It was very few and the few appearances of photos of them together did very little to quiet the stir. Even Harvey Advised Tony the photos of him and Jane that were being circulated made matters worse, not better.
Kerry remembers looking at one photo in particular, where she struggled to see how they could possibly have two kids together, let alone be married so long. There was plainly no intimacy between them. Even in younger pictures of them together she couldn't see a trace of love, or affection between them.
Nonetheless, here they were in need of help to convincingly sell this image of Tony being married to Jane, and Kerry just being his costar. However, after months of work. Nothing they'd managed to do up to this point had worked to change that narrative enough. So, they simply stopped trying to push it, and went back to just going with the flow.
The plan was to remain careful and make sure nothing they did would generate any more focus on them as a couple. However, that was easier said than done. Because often times the reasons the rumors of them being a real couple were instituted by Tony.
His inability to keep his focus and not gush about Kerry was their biggest issue. Recently, Kerry's publicist put together a mix of various quotes they'd both made or actions taken that inflamed the Terry phenomenon. And while Kerry had several offenses; Tony hands down was the biggest offender.
As she thinks about it, Kerry shakes her head as she recalls watching the video, and although she was concerned about their secret getting out. She couldn't get mad at him for his overflowing love for her.
Her birthday video is one instance that certainly fills the sails of all those who ship Terry, along with several other times when he's been caught outwardly praising her with so much love and affection, it honestly makes her gush and glow, because of how much she knows he loves her. The love she has for him in return is why she simply can't help loving him more, every time he beams about her.
Between their longing gazes as one another, their in sync movements, his comments of direct praise of her beauty and talent, and saying things like Scandal is on board with his real life; a response that yielded even more questions as to what he meant that were thankfully not asked in that moment. It's clear that the days of them appearing together on promotional tours had to end. It was decided that they'd either appear individually, or they'd appear in a group with the other cast mates. But no more appearances with them together were going to happen.
Neither one of them liked this decision; but they knew it was for their own good. So as they were moving on sort of speak, and again trying to be more careful in interviews, instigating questions about his kids and Jane. To decrease how much he speaks about Kerry, all was going well. Until about a month ago when everything changed. A moment that brings them to today, and adds to her joy of being on his arm.
Flashback
It was almost midnight and she was deathly ill, with what she came to know later as a bronchial infection and the flu. Initially, she developed bronchitis, and thought it would pass on it's own with some home remedies she always uses, being a frequenter of the viral infection.
However, it had now been three days, and her ailment had worsened. She developed body aches, and head congestion, and as of late she was vomiting. Until this point she'd refused to go to the doctor, thinking it would pass.
And with Tony being at his father's house, for his monthly visit, which always turned into a weekend with his siblings. She was able to refuse medical attention without being forced to go to the doctor. However, the jig was now up, because he was on his way home unbeknownst to her.
As she found herself with her head in the toilet, unable to keep anything down all day, and now dry heaving because her stomach was empty. She heard the pitter patter of Josie's feet on the hardwood floor coming toward the bathroom, and also human footsteps.
She'd been holding back how she was feeling talking to him earlier today, because she didn't want him to worry, or feel bad being with his dad. But he was about to find out just how ill she was, and there was nothing she could do about it.
As Tony walked into the bedroom, he saw Kerry on her knees hovering over the toilet in the bathroom off from the bedroom. He rushed to her as he dropped his travel bag on the floor, and yelled, "Oh my God Ker!"
As he knelt by her side, extremely worried. He touched her back, and she looked over at him. Her eyes were sad and tear stained, her nose was red like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, her hair was a mess, she had a fever, and her lips were dry.
Instantly, he took her into his arms and she fell into his chest and rested. He comforted her as he heard her mummer, "I'm so glad to see you." He held her as he rubbed her back, and whispered, "Baby, why didn't you tell me you were this sick?" She shrugged her shoulders as she said, "I knew you needed to be with your dad. And it wasn't this bad till now. How is he?"
