SmackDown Filming: August 23, 2011

"So…" I say to Randy as I walk in and close the locker-room door. "Bret Hart is the guest general manager tonight."

"Is he mad at you because you disrespected his niece?" Randy asks with a laugh.

"No, I said I loved him, and it turns out that the Hitman is a big fan of mine. He told me your match tonight, and it's an interesting one."

"What is it?"

"You against Ted. Cody doesn't have a match, so he will probably be at ringside."

"And you'll be at ringside?"

"Well, I assumed I would be. You're always like come manage me, babe."

"I don't sound like that."

"Yeah you do."

Randy rolls his eyes. "Eve will be watching alone then."

"Yeah. Probably rooting against you because Cody will be in Ted's corner."

"You and Cody definitely have to do something at ringside too."

"Maybe I'll beat him up."

Randy laughs. "Do they know about the match?"

"Nope. I was asked to tell you and them."

"Good. I want to see Ted's reaction."

"Me too."

"By the way, I don't think I said anything about it yet, but thanks for stepping up to defend our marriage against Beth and Natalya's remarks."

"It was my honor. Not like their opinions about our marriage matter really. I just don't like being accused of fabricating a marriage."

"You can't just fabricate the crazy shit that comes with our marriage."

I laugh. "That's definitely true."

Randy pulls me to him. "The craziest shit, but I love being your husband."

I giggle. "I love being Mrs. Randy Orton."

Randy kisses me. "You should. I'm great."

"I'm not gonna argue while kissing you."

"I know." Randy pinches my side.

I smack his chest. "Why did you do that?"

"Because it pisses you off."

I roll my eyes. "Whatever."

Randy continues to kiss me. "What do you want to do for our date this week?"

"I don't know. You don't have a plan?"

"I was hoping to find something to do that we haven't done recently."

"Why ask me when we know I'm indecisive when it comes to what we do on dates?"

"Because I figured in the situation that I couldn't come up with something, that you would suddenly be able to decide something."

I shrug. "Well, you're outta luck."

Randy rests his hands on my waist as we stop kissing. "That's okay. I'll figure something out."

I smile. "Okay, Randy."

"You're beautiful."

"I know."

Randy laughs. "Full of yourself. When are the boys coming in here? Because I want to see their reaction."

"I have no idea, but me too."

Ted walks in. "Knock knock, bitches."

I laugh. "Speaking of the boys…"

Cody walks in behind Ted with Eve. "Well, Eve is a female."

"We weren't talking about her before you came in here though."

"Fair enough. Anyone know if I have anything tonight?"

"You don't have a match tonight, Codes."

Ted looks at us. "Do I?"

"Yes, you do."

"Against who?"

I glance over at Randy. Ted looks at us confused.

"No!" Ted shouts. "He's mean in the ring, and you are a pain in the ass to deal with as a manager."

Randy laughs. "Oh well."

I smile. "If I'm a pain in the ass, I'm doing my job."

Ted rolls his eyes. "This isn't okay."

Cody sighs. "I'll be in your corner, Ted, but I am wearing the face mask. That way she can't slap me."

I laugh. "It doesn't cover your whole face. Won't stop me."

Cody rolls his eyes. "Whatever. Let's leave and talk strategy, Ted."

Ted stands up. "Right behind you."

Ted and Cody leave.

Eve stands up. "I should go with them. See you later."

"Bye." Randy and I say as Eve leaves.

Randy pulls me onto his lap. "You seriously don't know what to do for this date this week?"

"I'm indecisive, baby. Ugh. Don't put this pressure on me."

Randy kisses my cheek. "I love you, Rissa. I just wanna do something, but I wanna do something we haven't done recently at least."

I smile. "I understand that, but it doesn't really matter what we end up doing. What matters is that we're doing it together."

Randy nods. "I know. I'm just trying to make sure these dates are exciting, so you'll keep wanting to go on them with me. If they aren't exciting, you won't want to do them."

I give Randy a serious look. "You see this huge ring on my finger. It shows that I'm married…to you. I didn't marry you expecting to get grand gestures of love every single day. I know you're the kind of person who shows more than tells their love, but, Randy, it doesn't always have to be some big planned out thing for me to show me how much you love me. You are absolutely amazing to me. You're the best honestly. Seriously, Randy, I just wanna spend time with you. I know that I mean absolutely everything to you, and I feel the same about you. However, not all of our dates have to be something big and exciting. We went bowling last week. That was fun and exciting of course, but I'm the kind of person who is fine with just doing something cheap and simple for a date too. When we first started dating, you were a lot better about being okay with that. There's nothing wrong with that. Hell, our second date ever was just wine in the hotel room. I would still be fine with that. We have to find a mixture of exciting and simple when it comes to these dates. It doesn't really matter to me, but it's clear that it's too worrying for you."

Randy pulls me into a kiss. "I love you beautiful. You're right. Sorry, I'm a try hard."

"You're my try hard though. When we're done, I need to figure out what I'm wearing tonight."

Randy laughs. "Okay. I'll figure out what our date is going to be."

"Okay. Let me find an outfit."

"Did you pack the yellow dress you bought when you went to the mall with the girls?"

"I think so."

"Wear that. I like it."

I laugh. "Okay."

I hear voices in my head

They council me

They understand

They talk to me…

"And his opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Marissa, from Saint Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds, he is the World Heavyweight Champion, the Apex Predator, Randy Orton!"

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Both men circle around the ring before locking up. Randy gains the advantage and locks Ted in a Headlock. Randy gets Ted to the ground but Ted grabs Randy's head with his legs. Randy escapes. Both men stand up, and Ted gets Randy into a Headlock. He hip tosses Randy to the ground. There's a struggle, and Ted and Randy end up back on their feet. Randy escapes and shoves Ted into the ropes. Ted comes back with a Shoulder Tackle. Ted locks Randy in a Headlock as one of Cody's bag guys hands me a paper bag.

I look over at Cody, who looks at me chuckling. "You are an asshole."

Cody laughs as Randy gets Ted into a Headlock. "Oh well."

Ted shoves Randy into the ropes, and Randy comes back with a Shoulder Tackle. Randy runs at Ted, but Ted jumps over him. Ted kicks Randy in the gut before running at him, but Randy jumps over Ted. Ted rebounds off the ropes back at Randy, and Randy Dropkicks him. Randy pins Ted.

1…kickout!

They circle around the ring before Ted gets Randy into another Headlock. Randy escapes and gets Ted into one.

"So many Headlocks." I whisper.

Ted backs Randy into a corner and starts beating on him. The referee backs Ted off of Randy. Ted comes back, and Randy kicks him in the gut. Randy tries to Irish Whip Ted, but Ted reverses it. Randy comes back with a Clothesline. Randy starts stomping on Ted before grabbing him by his hair and locking in another Headlock. Ted escapes. Randy runs at Ted, but Ted Clotheslines Randy. Ted continuously hits on Randy. He kicks Randy in the face before pinning him.

1…2…kickout!

Ted goes to Dropkick Randy, but Randy grabs his legs. Randy launches Ted into the corner. Randy Clotheslines Ted a couple of times before hitting him with a Thesz Press. Randy starts beating on Ted. Ted rolls out to the apron, but Randy catches him between the ropes and attempts to DDT him. However, Cody gets up on the apron to distract Randy. I run over and yank Cody off before slapping him, intentionally making contact with the part of the face not covered by the face mask. Cody falls to the ground. Randy brings Ted back into the ring before rolling out of the ring. He attempts to RKO Cody, but Ted kicks Randy. Both Cody and Randy fall. Ted exits the ring and brings Randy back in.

Ted locks Randy in another Headlock. Randy escapes, but Ted hits Randy with a Backbreaker and a Dropkick. Ted pins Randy.

1…2…kickout!

Ted climbs up to the top turnbuckle, but Randy gets up and hits him. Randy continues to hit him before climbing up to hit Ted with a Superplex. Randy pins Ted.

1…2…kickout!

Randy climbs up into the corner to recover. Ted runs at Randy, but Randy kicks him in the face. Randy Clotheslines Ted a couple more times before hitting him with a Scoop Slam. As Ted recovers in the corner nearest to me, I notice Randy is bleeding a little. He runs at Ted, but Ted kicks him in the face. Ted runs at Randy, but Randy attempts to catch Ted with a Backbreaker. However, Ted rolls Randy into a pin.

1…2…kickout!

Ted hits Randy with a Spinebuster before pinning him again.

1…2…kickout!

Ted attempts Dream Street, but Randy catches him with a European Uppercut. Ted rolls to the apron again. This time, Randy catches him and successfully. DDTs him. Randy attempts an RKO, but Ted reverses into another attempt for Dream Street. Randy counters it. The two run at each other. Randy ducks Ted's Clothesline before hitting Ted with an RKO. Randy pins Ted.

"Here is your winner, the World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton!"

Randy looks at Cody as I run in the ring. I hug Randy before tossing the paper bag at Cody.

Randy and I meet Eve in guerilla to wait on Ted and Cody. We watch on the monitor as Cody helps Ted up before hitting him with a Cross Rhodes. Cody then puts a bag over Ted's head. The show takes a break, and both arrive backstage.

I look at the boys. "So that was interesting."

Cody laughs. "Yeah. Triple H said maybe it was time to split us. It sucks, but it's cool. We agreed that if Ted lost to Randy, we'd split tonight."

"Oh okay."

I watch as a pretaped promo by Natalya is shown. Eve isn't mentioned, but Natalya is going on quite the rant about me.

"Hmm…" I say. "I really got under her skin. Huh?"

Randy laughs. "You did."

"Are you going to be doing anything else tonight?"

"I have an interview. I think it's supposed to be about the match being changed for Super SmackDown next week."

"Okay. Is it with Todd Grisham?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Be nice to him. It's his last day. I'm going with you. Nattie wants to talk shit, so I'll challenge her to a match."

Randy nods. "I'll try my best, and okay."

Randy and I look at each other as we find Todd Grisham actually ready to interview before us getting there.

"Now, you have to be nice." I whisper.

Randy rolls his eyes. "I will, Marissa."

Todd smiles as we approach. "Mr and Mrs Orton, so glad you made it. I wanted to talk to you before we film this interview. If that's okay?"

Randy looks confused. "Uh, okay?"

Todd sighs. "I know I'm not the best about being on time, and it irritates certain people. I just want to apologize for being an inconvenience over the years. It's my last day, and I didn't want to leave without doing that."

I nod. "It's okay. We totally understand."

Randy smiles. "Yeah. If we're talking about it now, we've totally joked about it. Anyway, it's okay. Best of luck with your future."

"Thank you, both of you. I hope your careers continue to bring you the success you currently get in the future."

"Thanks." Randy and I both say.

Todd smiles. "Anyway, let's start this interview."

The cameraman starts filming.

Todd looks at me and Randy. "Randy, just want to get your reaction to guest general manager Bret Hart changing your championship opponent this Tuesday."

"You know what, Todd?" Randy says. "Christian is like a reoccurring nightmare. When I finally, finally, feel as if I've gotten rid of him, bam, there he comes, waltzing right back. Now, Christian in a cage with myself. It does pose a few special challenges. It does, but it's nothing that I can't handle. I've already taken my title back. All that Christian has left is his pride. And after I take that, it's on to Mark Henry, who's been destroying opponents left and right. So no, I don't underestimate Mark Henry. Just like my opponents should never underestimate me."

I smile as I put my hand on Randy's shoulder. "By the way, if Bret Hart is still in the mood to put his fellow Canadians in matches with champions, tell him I want Natalya next week at Super SmackDown."

Randy and I walk out of the interview, both feeling good about next week.
