Tony follows with, "None of us want to be here in this moment Jane; but it's where we are right now." Still seeing some reluctance on her face; Judy replies, "Jane, at this point there are several dozen reporters out there waiting to catch a glimpse of something to write a story about. If you leave, I promise you the story your daughters will have to answer to along with Tony will be about your absence. Is that what you want? Your kids talking about this instead of their own projects, and accomplishments."
Jane looks at her and shakes her head as she says, "No. They don't deserve that." Judy and Tony both have a sense of relief at her response. Tony puts aside his anger and frustration, and calmly says, "I agree. They don't. So let's do what we've always done as parents, and protect our kids from our mess. By being civil in public and getting through this. We can do this." She sees the encouragement in his eyes, and feels his sincerity.
She nods as she takes a breath and says, "Let's do it." He nods at her and turns to Judy as he says, "We're ready. I just need to talk to Kerry." Judy replies, "She's aware of the seating change for dinner. She doesn't love it. But she understands."
Tony nods as he says, "I still need to see her first." She replies, "Okay. Follow me." They all leave out the door, and before Judy has someone escort Jane back out into the common area. Where she is paired up with some members of the production staff to talk shop. She explains to Jane that someone on the staff is behind the caper that sent her here; but she doesn't divulge the identity of the person, and advises her not to mention this to anyone. Jane agrees, and Judy figures with her not knowing the name of the party, it's an added fail safe for them in case she does blab after a few drinks.
Meanwhile Judy takes Tony to Kerry. As they round the corner heading to the room to see her; Tony says, "I want her head on a stick for this Judy." Judy replies, "I don't blame you. This had the potential to be a real disaster, and completely below the belt. I didn't see this coming. But trust me. I'll handle it."
As the reach the door, Judy knocks and they hear come in. When the door opens the sight stuns both of them in their tracks. As they see Kerry sitting on a chaise, and her being unwittingly comforted by the puppet master of this freak show. Instantly, they step inside and Judy closes the door just in time to mask what happens next.
Thank you for reading my fan fiction tale. I hope it rewet your appetite for this story. In the next installment we get confirmation of who the culprit is behind the drama, that got Jane to come to the dinner. We also find out how the situation gets handled, and we learn more about the plan that's hatched moving Terry forward. It's not going to be an easy journey, but anything worth having isn't easy to obtain. Thanks again to all of you for your support. Please continue to comment and critique the story. Let me know how you feel about the events transpiring. What do you think of Jane crashing the event? How do you think Tony handled it? Was he judtified in what he said to her? What was your take on Kerry's reaction? How do you think they proceede from here? I welcome all feedback; just keep it respectful. Till next time. #Terryon
