Raw: September 12, 2011

"So Trish and Adam will both be at SmackDown tomorrow." I say as I walk into my locker-room.

Randy looks at me. "That's cool."

"You're on the Cutting Edge tomorrow. Mark Henry will also be on there."

"Oh yay."

"Is that sarcasm?"

"Possibly."

"Well, at least enjoy Adam being around. He's one of your best friends. It'll be fun. We haven't seen him since our wedding."

Randy smiles. "I know. You need to spend time with Trish too. That's one of your best friends and also someone we haven't seen since our wedding."

"Do you really think I'd pass up that opportunity?"

"No, I'm just pointing out facts. Have you checked the match card?"

"You and Cody have a rematch. There's nothing for the Divas right now, so I'm going to try to get myself something."

"Who are you going to get to do that? You aren't allowed to schedule your own matches, and Triple H is super busy."

"I'm going to go bug Teddy Long. I'm not dealing with John Laurinaitis. Especially when he's coming after my job."

"Okay. Wait, he's coming after your job?"

I sigh. "Not my wrestling career. My President of the Divas Division job."

"That's basically all you have if you get pregnant."

"I know. Even though I'm not taken seriously in that position really at all, it's still something to have while I'm pregnant."

"Yeah, but what do you mean that you're not taken seriously in that position?"

"I don't get an office. I don't feel like I have as much influence backstage as I should. I'm not saying that I should get total control, but I'm helping Triple H and being president of a whole division. I don't have the authority to give us Divas more matches which would give more opportunities. There's definitely gender inequality here at work, and it sucks because I should be able to fight that. We shouldn't only have one championship. There shouldn't only usually be one Divas match on a show. It's not right. I ranted about this to Chelle, but it's still on my mind. It's driving me crazy. She told me to wait until I'm pregnant and to fight for equality then, but I don't want to wait that long. I want to start now. I'm not letting John Laurinaitis come after my position backstage because he's clearly getting power hungry."

Randy nods. "Don't let him do that to you. How did you know he's coming for your job?"

"Let's just say some of the stagehands like me and overheard him and decided to let me know what was going on."

"McKenzie?"

"Yes, she was one of them. Not the only one though. It pays off to be nice to the stagehands."

"What all were you told?"

"That the asshole has been going around to the people in the company, including many higher-ups, saying that I'm unfit to have any power backstage, telling people I'm too immature to be an authority figure."

"So what I'm hearing is that I might need to pay him a visit."

"Not yet, but let's put that on the back burner for now. I'm going to go see Teddy Long and probably pick up my ring gear for Night of Champions on the way back."

"Okay. Good luck."

I walk into Teddy Long's office. Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler were currently talking to Teddy Long.

"Dolph has to defend against Alex Riley, Jack Swagger, and John Morrison?" Vickie asks. "Teddy, this is ridiculous."

"Well," Teddy says. "That is my decision, and I'm standing by it."

"Is this a bad time?" I ask.

"No, Marissa, these two were just leaving."

"Leaving?" Vickie says. "We're not going anywhere until you change this match at Night of Champions!"

Teddy ignores Vickie and Dolph. "Marissa, what is it that you need?"

"Well, I saw that there is no Divas match. I have a championship defense in six days and would like to have a warm up match tonight. I don't care who it is against. I just want one." I explain to Teddy.

"Oh please." Vickie says. "The problem Dolph and I have is way more important than this. Marissa is barely a champion. She got lucky against Beth at SummerSlam. I could probably beat her in a match."

"You really think so?"

Teddy smiles. "Well, let's test that out. Marissa, you can have your match tonight. Vickie, you can be her opponent."

Vickie looks at Teddy. "Uh…"

Dolph looks at Vickie. "Let's go."

They leave. I go to follow behind them.

"Marissa," Teddy says. "Do you have a moment?"

"Sure, Teddy." I answer. "What's up?"

"I think someone backstage has the potential to become a problem for both of us."

"Is his name John Laurinaitis?"

"Yes, it is. I assume that you're aware then. I think he is coming after my job and from what I have heard, your backstage job as well. He may be going after other people's jobs as well. He's looking to climb into a higher position of power backstage. I think it's going to be a major problem."

I nod. "I understand Teddy. There isn't much I can do right now, but if he comes after you directly, know that I have your back one hundred percent. Thank you for the match."

Teddy smiles. "Absolutely. Thank you for giving me support."

"No problem. See you around."

"Goodbye, Marissa."

I know I want that girl so bad

I lie awake at night

And think of all the things that I would do

With a girl like that…

"And her opponent, from Saint Louis, Missouri, she is the WWE Divas Champion, Marissa Orton!"

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Dolph is lingering at ringside while I wrestle Vickie. The thought crosses my mind that maybe I should've asked Randy to be at ringside, just to deal with Dolph.

I run at Vickie and hit her with a Thesz Press. When she gets back up, I kick her in the back of the head.

Jack Swagger starts heading towards the ring. Dolph sees him, and they start arguing.

Vickie looks at them. "What are you doing?!"

I roll Vickie into a pin.

1…2…3!

"Here is your winner, Marissa Orton!"

Vickie exits the ring and starts arguing with Dolph and Jack.

Well, not the kind of match I had wanted, but it was a match nonetheless.

Beth starts running down the ramp. I put down my Divas Championship. Beth goes to slide into the ring. I immediately get on her and start punching her. She attempts to start punching me back and gain the advantage, but I maintain the advantage. We roll out of the ring. I stand up and knee Beth in the face. I then throw her into the steel steps. I grab my Divas Championship and a microphone before walking back over to Beth. I sit next to her on the steel steps.

"See you at Night of Champions, bitch!" I grab Beth by the head and slam it on the steel steps.

Randy pulls me into a kiss. "I can't say much, but you did great."

I kiss him back. "Thanks. You'll do great."

"Hopefully. I gave Ted our phones. Take them from him."

"I will. Kick Cody's ass."

"I will. I love you."

"Hey!" Cody says.

I shrug. "Randy's gonna beat you. I love you too, Randy."

Randy kisses my forehead. "I'll see you in a little bit."

I walk back to where John and Ted are watching Randy and Cody's match.

I look at Ted. "You have my phone and Randy's phone. Pass them over."

Ted passes them to me. "Here. You really kicked some ass."

I laugh. "Thanks."

"Randy was bragging about you." John comments.

I smile as I check my phone. "I'm sure he was."

"What are you smiling about?"

"What your wife texted me."

Chelle: Damn girl. You're a bad bitch.

Me: Just making a statement before Night of Champions.

Ted nods. "John was like that's your wife to Randy, and Randy grinned and was like you're damn right she is."

I smile. "Yeah. He's so proud of me. I'm proud of him too."

"Good."

I look over to see Mark Henry heading towards guerilla. "Aww, damn."

Ted looks at Mark. "Don't go after him, Rissa."

"I won't. I know he isn't past putting his hands on me. I can't fight him off."

"Okay. Good. Don't want you getting hurt."

I watch the monitor. "Son of a bitch. Mark is distracting Randy."

Cody pins Randy for a three count.

"Here is your winner, Cody Rhodes!"

Mark enters the ring and starts hitting Randy with his steel chair. Mark then holds up the World Heavyweight Championship before laying it on Randy.

I look at the boys. "I'm going out there once Mark is backstage."

Cody nods as he made it to us. "It's not looking good for him."

"Nope." I watch as Mark exited guerilla. "I'm going to go run out to check on Randy."
