SmackDown Filming: September 13, 2011

I walked over to Trish in Catering. "So I need some timbits. I can't get those in America."

Trish laughs as I sit with her. "I gave Randy a box for you two to split a little bit ago."

I smile. "Thanks. That asshole better not eat them all."

"If he does that, I think you have a reason for divorce."

I laugh. "I think he knows better. I have a lot on my mind right now, so seeing you today has really given me a better mood."

"What's wrong? Are you having marriage problems?"

I shake my head. "No. Just work."

"What about it?"

"I feel like I'm not being utilized properly. The gender inequality here drives me crazy because I don't think I can fight it. John Laurinaitis is trying to get me out of my backstage position. My match with Beth. Just so much stuff."

"Well, kick John's ass. As for everything else, you know it's never been equal for the girls here. I think you can fight it."

I smile. "Thanks. Also, don't tell anyone because we're not telling everyone yet, but Randy and I are going to try for a baby after I lose my championship. Even if it's this Sunday at Night of Champions."

Trish grins. "Oh my gosh. I'm so happy for you. Good luck."

"Thanks. I'm honestly nervous about it."

"Why? You'd be a great mom."

"I just don't know if I'm ready."

"You're ready. Trust me. You can tell by how you are. You'll be fine."

"If you say so."

Trish gives me a serious look. "Is this because of your mom? I'm not a mom obviously, but trust me, you'll be fine. I'm totally going to go full aunt when you give birth though."

I laugh. "I think the kid is gonna be so spoiled. Everyone is going to want to spoil my child between our family and friends."

Trish laughs. "It'll be fun. It's responsibility, but you're very responsible. You'll be good at this."

"I hope so. You want to go with me to find Randy or harass Adam? Whichever one happens first."

Trish smiles. "Let's go."

I walk into Randy's locker-room with Trish trailing behind me. "Hey, stranger."

Randy smiles. "Hey."

I realize Adam and Jay are also in the room. "Oh my gosh, Adam! Hi!"

Adam pulls me into a hug. "Hey, brat! How are you?"

"Good. You?"

"Fantastic."

I release the hug. "That's great to hear."

I look at Jay. "Surprised to see you."

Jay sighs. "Randy and I already had a discussion about this. I let the World Heavyweight Championship get to me too much. I did some things and said some things I shouldn't have that was negative towards the two of you. I'm really sorry. It won't happen again. Can we be friends again?"

I pull Jay into a hug. "Absolutely. I honestly kinda missed getting to just have some fun conversation with you backstage."

Jay laughs. "We'll have to get back to that."

Ted peeks in. "Cody, I found the Canadians."

Cody walks in behind Ted. "Okay. Great. Adam, thank you for doing a promo with me tonight."

Adam smiles. "I'm glad you'll let me do something with you. Also, Rissa, there's a no contact rule during the Cutting Edge. Feel free to join Randy out there if you like. I'd be glad to have you."

I smile. "If Randy is cool with me being there, I'm there. As long as he's cool with it."

Randy nods. "It's cool as long as Mark doesn't harm you. If it gets physical somehow, then I want you out of that ring just as quick as Adam."

I nod. "Yes, sir."

"Anyway, I'm going to go to Catering. Anyone care to join me?"

"We just came from there." Trish says.

"Oh. Okay. Am I going alone?"

"I'll go." Cody says.

"Me too." Ted says.

"I will as well." Jay adds.

"Okay." Randy says. "I'll see you other three in a little bit."

The four men leave. Adam, Trish, and I are sitting in the locker-room.

I looked at Adam. "How are you adjusting to not being in this anymore?"

Adam looks at me. "It's hard. It really is, but I'm trying to keep myself occupied. That's part of the reason why I did the show. It gives me something to do. I think I know what this is about."

"You do?"

"Well, you're going to have to confirm this, but Randy told me that you two are going to try for a baby."

"That might be what this is about."

"You're worried about walking away from all of this. Rissa, it won't be full time walking away from this for you. You'll be back."

I shake my head. "It's crazy. I want this so bad. I just go back and forth on it. I'm like I'm going to do this as soon as I lose my Divas Championship. Then, I'm like can I really walk away?"

Adam nods. "It's hard, but I think you'll be okay. You'll be occupied with the pregnancy and then taking care of the baby. For what it's worth, I think dealing with Randy can keep you busy enough."

I laugh. "Fair enough."

"You're going to bring a child into this world. You'll be fine, Rissa. By the way, you've got him all excited about having a child with you. What did you do to him?"

I shrug. "I gave him a steady relationship, and he's happy. I don't know what else to say."

Adam smiles. "Well, you changed him for the better. I'm really happy for both of you. I'm calling dibs on godparent."

Trish looks at him. "Me too."

"I just did."

"There can be two godparents."

"Fair enough."

I watch from backstage as Beth has a match against AJ. I figured watching my Night of Champions opponent in her last match before the pay per view would be a good way to scout.

Beth and AJ lock up, and Beth got AJ immediately into a corner. AJ ducks under Beth. AJ goes to hit a Bulldog on Beth, but Beth grabs her and drops her on the ground. Beth lifts AJ over her shoulders and presses her. Beth goes to grab AJ, but AJ starts to fight back. Beth hits AJ with a Big Boot and then Glam Slam before pinning her.

1…2…3!

"Here is your winner, the Glamazon, Beth Phoenix!"

Kaitlyn pulls AJ out of the ring as Natalya enters the ring and Beth motions for a microphone. I walk out onto the stage, so she knows that I'm listening to whatever the stupid crap she's going to say is.

Beth looks at me. "This Sunday, Marissa, the clock's about to strike midnight. Because you and all of the other Cinderellas in the WWE are about to have a very unhappy ending to your little fairytale."

That's it? I roll my eyes and hold up my Divas Championship as we stare each other down.

Edge gives us an introduction as he and Mark Henry were in the ring already.

I hear voices in my head

They council me

They understand

They talk to me…

Randy and I make our way towards the ring. Randy stops at the end of the ramp and glares at Mark.

Randy pulls me close. "Stay right next to me unless it looks to be getting physical."

I nod. "Okay."

Randy guides me into the ring. He nods at Adam while his eyes never leave Mark's. Adam and I exchange a look.

"Now, gentlemen, just to remind you that general manager Teddy Long has instituted a no contact rule between you two for the Cutting Edge tonight." Adam says. "And I said I wasn't going to pull any punches out here. I said I was gonna shoot straight from the heart. So, Randy, honestly I'm thinking that's probably a good thing that there's no physical contact tonight. Man, let's face it. Mark Henry has been tearing through everyone and everything here in the WWE. He doesn't even look human. Man, he's been running through everything. He has done things to you that no other human has ever done. So I guess the question I'm gonna ask you is pretty simple. Do you honestly think you can beat him this Sunday?"

"First of all, Edge, you are right." Randy replies. "Mark Henry has demolished a lot of people. Kane and the Big Show included. He is the World's Strongest Man for a good reason. But now when it comes to me, the only time, Mark, you put your hands on me. The only time you decide to get physical with me is after I've already had a match. So you haven't proven anything to me. And maybe that doesn't matter, maybe you're here to make a statement, or maybe you know deep down inside the reason why you've never won the big one here in the WWE. Maybe, Mark Henry, you know that your absolute, very, very best just isn't good enough. So the question is do I think that I honestly could ever beat Mark Henry. No, I don't think I can beat you, Mark Henry. I know I can!"

I let a small smile appear on my face as I look at Randy and put a hand on his arm.

"You know what, Mark. I hate to say it. Actually I don't hate to say it. What Randy is saying is the truth. He's got a point. I mean let's look at it. Your career is kind of disappointing. Hey, I told you I was going to call it straight down the middle exactly the way I see it. He brings up a great point. Let's face it. It started here in the WWE in 1998 and you were already a veteran here. With someone as big and devastating as you, you have never won the WWE Championship. You never won the World Heavyweight Championship. How is that possible? You should be one of the most decorated champions of all time with your physical attributes. No question about it. Some people might say it's because of fluke losses here and there. Maybe it's because of injuries at bad times. Or maybe it's because you don't have the desire. Let's face it. When you want to go to the next level, when you want to hold that World Heavyweight Championship, when you want to stand where Randy Orton is right now, it's a whole new level. And maybe you just aren't good enough to get to that level."

Mark grabs a microphone. "Edge, let's make this crystal clear. The only reason that I'm gonna let you walk out of this ring on your power is because…you're right. Fifteen years I've seen men smaller than me I've seen men weaker than me become champion. I've seen Randy Orton become champion over and over and over again. You see what they tell me is Mark Henry, go out there and smile. Show that personality. Randy, let me tell you something. I'm done smiling. I'm done showing personality. I'm here to destroy, and I'm here to take what you got. Fifteen years! I've had to come out here and show every night what I can do. And it didn't work. Fifteen years, it's taken me to get here! And come Sunday, I will be the World Heavyweight Champion!"

"Well, I've got news for you, Mark Henry. Our match this Sunday at Night of Champions will be symbolic of your career. You may look impressive. You might just come close. But in the end, you'll be the same as you've always been. Four hundred pounds, fifteen years, World's Strongest Failure." Randy says.

The men stare at each other. Randy throws his microphone.

Randy hands me the World Heavyweight Championship. "Now."

I take the World Heavyweight Championship and roll out of the ring.

"Okay. Okay." Adam says. "This is the part of the show where I remind you that Teddy Long says that during the Cutting Edge there is no physical contact. Remember that part. But this is also the part where I tell you that the Cutting Edge is officially over."

Adam leaves the ring. He grabs me by the arm, and we both walk to head backstage. In the ring, Randy is punching Mark. Teddy Long sends the roster out to separate the two. I scurry backstage to avoid the chaos.
