Chapter 25
In his office at the station, Robert leaned back in his chair, Bobby holding on tight to his hands as he bounced up and down on his lap. Both of them smiling happily, Bobby drooling a little but neither of them seemed to mind. Anna had dropped him off with Robert about two hours ago and he had woken up from his nap about half an hour ago and was ready to play.
Sean was working on a case that had him rather stumped so Anna had offered to help him out with it. Robert had quickly suggested that Bobby spend a couple of afternoons at the office with him. He could have his afternoon nap in the playpen and play with Daddy when he wakes up. Anna wasn't ready to go back to work full time but was excited about getting a few hours a couple of times a week to go into the office. Anna was enjoying getting to help Sean with this case, it wasn't simple or straightforward and was challenging both of them. It was day three of the arrangement and so far it was working quite well.
Off and on, since Bobby had been born there were cases that had kept Robert busy, working long hours so he was glad for the extra time with Bobby as well. Robert couldn't believe how much he had already grown. At eight and a half months he was crawling all over the place and pulling himself up and walking along, holding onto the furniture.
"Aaahhh," open-mouthed Bobby leaned in and kissed his Daddy then started jumping again.
"You are full of energy today. That must have been a good nap you had."
Bobby was still babbling and bouncing while Robert talked to him when there was a knock at the door a little while later. "Yeah, come in," Robert called.
The door opened and in walked Guy and Sam Wells. "I told you nap time would be over, Chief." Sam was smiling at Robert and Bobby. "Can I hold Bobby for a few minutes?"
"Of course you can," Robert said as he stood up and started walking around his desk. He was pretty sure this meant there was some work that needed his attention.
She smiled, "He is just so adorable I can't help it, I need my baby fix." As Robert passed him to Sam, Bobby reached out for her. Sam was one of the police officers Bobby was getting used to, she always came and spent a little time with him when he was in the office. Both Robert and Anna felt it would be good if there were a few people he would be comfortable with at the station just in case. Bobby smiled and gave her a hug as soon as Sam was holding him. "I'm going to take him for a little wander around the squad room, let you two talk."
Sam left as Guy passed a folder to Robert, "This has to be connected to the Matthews assault," he said and took a seat. He knew they better not waste the time they have while Bobby is out there making his rounds.
"Do you think it could have been the same suspect?" Robert asked as he started reading over the paperwork. They got to work talking about the case. Sam would give them time but Bobby was usually the one that determined how much time Daddy got to work uninterrupted.
Almost an hour later Sam came back into Robert's office, "There he is. We found Daddy." She walked over and handed a fussing Bobby back to Robert who was already reaching out for him.
"Hi, little man. Did you go and distract all my officers? I bet you did. They have work to do, you know. Yes, they do." Bobby put his arms around Robert's neck, his little face pressed against Robert's, smushing their cheeks together. "Are you going to help me now? Does Bobby have some work to do?" Robert leaned back then kissed his cheek, "I think you do." He sat down at his desk, adjusting Bobby so he was sitting on his lap. When Sam came in Guy had put a couple of his toys on Robert's desk for Bobby that he was already reaching for.
"Have Ramerez look into this a bit more," Robert told Guy as he closed the case file before Bobby started grabbing papers and passed it to him.
"Alright, I think that's about all I needed to talk to you about for now." Guy started to get up, he smiled watching father and son. He liked seeing his friend like this, it was pretty clear Robert is a very happy man now.
"Okay, me and my partner will still be here for a while. I want to know if you get anything on either of those cases."
"Sure thing boss." Guy stood up then he followed Sam back out of the office.
As soon as they were alone Robert leaned forward, looking over Bobby's little shoulder as he banged a toy hammer against Robert's desk. "What are we going to do now? Why were you fussing? You're not wet. Do you need a little snack?" Bobby slapped the desk a couple of times. "Oh, you want a snack. Alright." Then Robert reached for the diaper bag.
A short time later when the door opened after a quick knock, Robert looked up to see Sean standing there. "Hey, old buddy." He stepped inside and smiled at Bobby, "Hey little buddy. What have you been up to."
"Oh, we have something to show Uncle Sean." Robert let Bobby stand and while holding his hands helped him walk around the desk toward Sean, a big smile on Bobby's face. "He's starting to get braver, he lets go with one hand but so far he won't try to take a step when he does," Robert looked up grinning. "Anna thinks he's going to learn to walk earlier than some other babies might. She says it's because he wants to go where Robin does and sometimes crawling just isn't fast enough and she gets away," Robert told him happily. "Robin loves her little brother but has said sometimes she wants to play by herself."
Sean smiled listening to Robert gush about his kids. He would be doing that soon, he just knew it. Having a baby wasn't something they had planned and they had only ever casually talked about having kids but now that it was happening Sean knew he wanted this. Sean wants him and Tiff to have what Robert and Anna do. He loved the idea of them having kids the same age as well. That they'll get to grow up together.
Smiling happily, Sean reached down and picked Bobby up when he made it over to him. "Hi, are you helping Daddy? I bet you are." Sean sat in the chair by the desk. "Do you still like to bounce?" Sean adjusted them so Bobby was standing on his legs and holding his hand. As soon as he did Bobby started jumping. "Oh, okay. Yes, you do."
"I swear he could do that for hours," Robert said watching them.
"It seems like it," Sean agreed.
"Thank god for the jolly jumper at home," he said and they both laughed.
"Hi," Anna said as she walked in. She had stopped to talk with Sam before coming in. "Oh, he's got Uncle Sean busy." Anna smiled and stepped over to Robert, she took his hand and pulled him behind Sean's chair. "Hi," she said quietly, smiling up at him. Her arms slipping around him.
Robert pulled her closer, "Hi," then he kissed her passionately. Stealing a moment together while Bobby was busy.
"What are they doing back there Bobby. Are they kissing? I bet they are," Sean said smiling at his godson. After a moment there was giggling behind him then Robert walked back around his desk and sat down.
Anna leaned over Sean's shoulder, "Hi Bobby, did you have a good afternoon with Daddy. I got a lot of work done with Uncle Sean. Sam tells me you were charming the ladies." He was smiling happily at her as she spoke. "Do I get a hug?" Bobby reached for her as soon as she asked. Anna stepped around Sean a little more and picked Bobby up. He snuggled right in, "Oh, I missed you too."
"We had a very good afternoon, mostly he's been a happy little guy since he woke up. He got a little grumbly when he needed a snack but we took care of that."
Anna smiled over at him, she knew Robert liked his afternoons with Bobby and the fact it meant she got to have a taste of normal life again was wonderful. "When do I get to take the two of you home?" she asked.
"I'm about done, I just have to talk to Guy first."
"Alright you go do that, we'll get his things together."
As Anna said that Sean smiled over at her," I don't think I can help with anything. My hands are full at the moment." Bobby was still happily jumping on his lap.
…
When Anna and Robert got home Bobby was fussing some but they both knew he was just getting hungry. Once he was fed, Anna carried him into the kitchen to find Robert and Robin at the kitchen table while Olin cooked. She put Bobby in his high chair and gave him some toys, then sat down as well. Sitting beside Robert, she started rubbing his back, then leaned in a little closer to him. Putting her head on his shoulder, she closed her eyes, a soft moan escaped her lips.
Robert put his hand on her leg, slowly his hand moved back and forth. He tilted his head towards her, burying his nose in her hair. Hee squeezed her leg then moved his hand a little high. Robert realized he wanted to do a lot more than rub her leg. He leaned in a little closer to her ear, "Come with me," he whispered.
His voice dripped with desire, Anna cleared her throat, "Olin, we're just going to leave these two here with you for a few minutes. We need to talk."
Olin smiled over at them, she didn't think there would be much talking going on once they were alone. "Sure thing, chum." Anna smiled back at her over her shoulder as Robert pulled her from the room.
He didn't turn to go upstairs but instead walked straight to their office. They knew they didn't have much time so he wasn't wasting any of it with stairs. Anna closed and locked the door behind them. Robert was already taking off his jacket and tie. He turned as he was unbuttoning his shirt. "Get over here," Anna commanded, turning her back to him so he could unzip her dress.
Quickly her dress was off and he was standing there with only pants on, Anna pulled him closer to her by the belt then undid it. She smiled as she unzipped them and they fell down his legs. Picking her up Robert carried her over to the couch. "God I need you," he all but growled into her neck. He kissed her passionately as he laid them down
Anna's hands moved across his back, as he removed the last of their clothing. "I can't wait, please baby."
His hand moved between her legs, she was so wet already. "Oh, Anna." He slid home and they both moaned. Anna's head went back, nothing was ever going to be as good as this. It was just too bad that for now it was mostly stolen moments like this. They both knew they didn't have much time. "You feel so good," he whispered as he kissed her along the neck.
"I want to be on top," Anna told him, biting her lip a little.
They adjusted so she was straddling him, as her hips started to move he put his hands on her ass. "Mmmm, yes." His head went back, through hooded eyes he watched her ride him. It wasn't long before they both came undone. Stroking her hair looking up at her, "As amazing as that was, we really need to find time so we can do this more thoroughly."
A little tremor went through, a little aftershock from her climax, and she smiled, "Yes we do. I want you all to myself."
"I think we should start working on making that happen." He pushed his hips up and she moaned. He would love to stay here all night and satisfy all their needs.
"Yes, we do." Anna leaned down and kissed him. "But right now I think we need to get dressed and go have dinner with our kids."
"I guess you're right." He held her in place. "I'm only letting you go if you promise me, we are going to plan a night for us."
She ran her fingers through his hair. "I promise. We need a night for us." Then she leaned in and kissed him seductively. "Now we have to get dressed." She smiled then stood up, Robert sat there watching her. After a moment she smiled at him, "Come on. You can't eat dressed like that," she said taking in the view of the sexy naked man watching her.
"Alright," he said. Then after another moment he got up and started getting dressed as well.
…
Sunday Anna had agreed to brunch with Tiffany Bobbie and Felica. Robert had told her he had an entire day planned for him and the kids so she should go and enjoy herself and take her time. When she got to The Grill, she was smiling happily. Bobby was nine months old and she was getting more time to herself now. This was her first outing with friends since Bobby was born that he wasn't a part of.
When she got to their table, Bobbie and Felicia were already there. "Hi," she greeted them happily.
They both greeted her and as they were seated Bobbie asked, "Does it feel nice not to have Bobby with you?"
"It's nice that I get to do things on my own, but I'm going to need all kinds of snuggles when I see him," she told her smiling brightly. "It does seem a little strange not to have him with me.
"He's in good hands," Felicia added.
"Yes, he is. Robert told me he has an entire day planned for them and I should enjoy my day."
Bobbie and Felicia both smiled, both very happy for their friends. Felicia looked up seeing Tiffany walking towards them. "Hi, sorry I'm late," she said as she reached their table. At almost five months she was starting to show.
"You aren't late, we all just got here," Bobbie told her as they all greeted her.
"Oh good." She smiled at them, "I needed to do something before I left."
The other three women all smiled, "Robert loved when I needed to do something before going places as well," Anna said, making them all laugh.
Tiff was still smiling, "Sean doesn't complain about it either."
They were all giggling a little when their waiter came over. After ordering, Bobbie leaned forward smiling, "So I have a little news. Tony and I are now officially dating."
Felicia excitedly took her hand, "This is great, I was hoping this would happen."
"We've been friends for years and," She shrugged a little, "Now we're more than friends," she smiled suggestively."
"Now I just need my man to come home," Felicia said, letting her shoulders slump forward a little. "Until then, I get to live vicariously through all of you," she added perking up again. That made them all laugh again. "I do have a question, though. Tiff, were you guys trying for a baby?"
Tiff blushed a little, "No, I think this happened when we went away together. I thought we were actually there to work on some case of his, because he's done that to me before, but it wasn't. He took me away for a romantic weekend and I will admit, we never left our room."
"Oh, I love those kinds of weekends," Bobbie said, with a grin.
"Me too," Felicia agreed.
"Nights of passion can lead to those bumps," Anna said nodding knowingly at Tiff's baby bump.
"What happened?" Bobbie suddenly asked. "It wasn't an affair, everyone in Port Charles would have known if you and Robert were having an affair."
"It was not an affair," Anna confirmed. "Robert was helping me with a case that," she paused, how does she even try to explain where they were and what led to what happened. "Well, we were in a situation that required us to be affectionate or blow our cover."
"How affectionate?" Felicia asked. They all looked at her," What? I told you I am living vicariously through all of you."
Anna bit her lip thinking back to that night. "Affectionate enough that neither of us could hide the effect we were having on each other. Enough that we had to help each other to make it through what we were doing."
Tiffany was confident she knew what Anna meant, "Where were you and what kind of case was it?"
"I can't tell you where, it was something the WSB hired me for. I knew Sean was not the man I needed to take with me on it. Pretending to be a couple is so easy with Robert so I knew I had to take him."
"I don't think you have ever minded having to pretend to be with Robert," Bobbie said with a little laugh.
Anna smiled, "No, I have not. That night, well, we were never going to talk about that night ever again."
Tiffany touched her hand, "Except you were in love with him and there was a baby created that night."
Anna nodded, "We pour our hearts out that night as well, it wasn't just sex. You're right it was about love, about passion."
"To nights of passion," Felicia said, holding up her mimosa.
"Yes!" they all exclaimed happily clinking their glasses together.
"Speaking of nights of passion. Felicia, are you sure you can spend the night with them next weekend?"
"Yes, your plan for Robert's birthday is exactly what the two of you need."
"Yes, it is. I really miss our alone time," Anna said with a silly grin and again they all laughed. "You think it's funny now," she said looking at Tiffany. "That little bump is really going to cramp your newlywed style." Laughter filled the air once again.
Tiffany's face dropped a little, "Oh!" that made them all laugh again.
