Nonetheless, breaking up the softness of the moment, and seeing Earl and Kerry heading back inside from the balcony. She says, "You know. I think I see why my husband didn't throw you over that railing. You appear to be a keeper." He chuckles with her as he says, "Well, I'm glad to hear you think so." They smile as their laughter settles, and Kerry comes over and sits next to him, as Earl sits next to Valerie.
Once seated, Kerry happily kisses Tony on the cheek, and he smiles as he hugs her and asks, "What's that for?" She replies, "For being amazing. Thank you for that." He grins as he says, "I'm not sure how I did that. But, you're welcome." They share a sweet kiss, which is the first they've done in front of her parents.
When the kiss breaks, they all smile and continue to converse for another hour before calling it a night. After the staff preps the spare bedroom for her parents. Kerry and Tony check in with her parents before getting into bed.
Upon finally climbing into bed themselves, she and Tony cuddle up, and they relax together breathing the easiest they have since finding out her parents were coming to visit. The silence breaks as she says, "I can't believe we got through that."
Tony kisses her forehead as he holds her, and rubs her belly, as he says, "I told you we would. You worry too much." She smiles as she says, "You did. Thank you baby. You've been incredible through this ordeal. I know my dad was a bear to deal with. He told me some of the things he said to you."
Tony shrugs as he says, "its fine babe. He had a right to be upset and concerned. I couldn't blame him. His emotions were valid and coming from a genuine place." She looks up at him and says, "Still, you didn't have to take his treatment. He can be pretty aggressive when he's angry. And the fact that you held your own, but never disrespected him speaks to your character, and how wonderful you are as a man. Which just reconfirms why I am so happy to be carrying your baby. Who's definitely going to have a little slice of her daddy in her."
Despite not yet knowing the gender for sure. They both are in belief she's having a girl. Something Tony has professed himself, being the perfect girl maker.
Caught up in their moment of love; he smiles at her, seeing the love overflowing in her eyes, gazing back at him. He's touched at her admission, and it shows as he kisses her lips sweetly, then says, "Thank you babe." She replies, "You're welcome my love." They share another kiss, which heats up quickly.
However, he pauses as he asks, "Are you sure you want to, with your parents here?" She jokingly replies, "Only if you can be quiet." He smiles as he says, "HMMM I'll do my best. Mrs. Hit it harder baby." She hits him playfully, as he mocks her. And they find their rhythm and their moment, as they slip under the covers and into their quietest session ever.
Over the next few days Kerry's parents enjoy their time in California. As their time winds down during their visit. Tony manages to book exclusive golf outings at premier courses for him and Earl, free of paparazzi. While Kerry and Valerie tear up Rodeo drive, and the hottest spas in town. Plenty of photos are taken of her and her mother, as they shop, brunch, and relax the days away. The week is capped off with a beautiful sunset drive up the coast their final night, for dinner at an exclusive restaurant on the beach.
The night is one of joy and celebration, as they relax and enjoy a great meal and wonderful conversation. It makes Kerry sad that her parents are leaving tomorrow, but one thing is for sure. This was a visit they all needed, whether she was pregnant or not. She can't help but feel they all became closer this visit, and that's what being a family is all about.
It's 11:30 am and Tony and Kerry are sitting on their couch waiting for their skype meeting with Judy to start. As they sit together, with the laptop on Kerry's lap. Tony asks, "How bad do you think the news is going to be?" She replies, "As bad as it can be with Shonda. We know she's not happy about how we left things at the dinner, as well as us blowing her off for the last few weeks."
Tony nods in agreement, knowing it's been almost three weeks since they've seen her or spoken with her. But he can't say he regrets anything said in that moment, or any of their actions since. He takes a breath as he says, "Well, she should've thought through her actions of sabotage in advance. That shit she pulled at the white house is damn near unforgivable."
Kerry hears the anger in his voice, he's still upset about it. And she can't blame him. She too is still irritated by it. Which is why she agreed to follow his lead concerning their absences from the last few press appearances done by the cast on various talk shows.
Shonda almost had a coronary when neither of them showed up, and she didn't know until the last minute. But, because the appearances weren't contractual, there was nothing she could do about it. Which undoubtedly made her angrier. As they sit, waiting to find out the latest shenanigans they can expect from her, via their meeting with Judy.
Both think about how their evening at the white house, which started as the most memorable night of their careers. But ended as one of the most awkward and emotional unrested moments of their lives. They'll never forget that evening as long as they live, and not because of a positive reason.
Flashback
After Tony and Judy walked into the room, seeing Kerry being comforted by Shonda. Tony was so full of anger, he couldn't contain himself. He quickly said, "Get the hell away from her!" Kerry was startled by the snarl she heard in his voice, and the look of pure rage she saw on his face. She'd never seen him that angry.
He was clearly barking mad, and ready to rip Shonda's head off of her shoulders. She was paralyzed in the moment, and when she looked over at Shonda. She was also mute, and had a look of confusion on her face too. With Tony standing in front of both of them, and neither one having a word to say. Mostly out of uncertainty of what was going to happen next.
Judy tried to intervene, as she stepped in front of him, blocking his access to Shonda. Who'd at this point stepped back from Kerry. She got his attention, by putting up her hands as she said, "Tony, let's try to calm down." Angrier than ever, he responded, "Fuck that! She's gone too damn far. It's too late to be calm. I was calm when she started fucking up the writing on the show. And that was fine. Because it's her show. But now. She's fucking with our real life, and that is where I draw the line. So no! I'm not calming down; I want to hear what she has to say for herself."
