Hell in a Cell: October 2, 2011
I walk into Catering to see Chelle, John, Ted, and Ryse. "Hello, amazing people. How is everyone today?"
"Good." Ted says.
"What's gotten into you all of a sudden?" Chelle asks.
I sit down with them. "Honestly, multiple things. First, we won the court case. As of this past Thursday, Randy and I are done with everything with Cami."
"That's great to hear." John says. "What else?"
"Well…I know that some of you have known that I've been uncertain about stepping out of the ring for so long to become a mother, but oddly enough, if I step out of the ring at this point and just fight against John Laurinaitis's efforts backstage while I try to get pregnant, I'm content with that."
"That's really good." Ryse comments.
"Yeah, also I haven't even told Randy yet, but I get an office."
"Seriously?"
"That's cool as hell." Ted says.
"Yeah, it is." I reply. "I feel like my backstage position is important now."
"That's good." John says. "I think I'm going to go."
"Me too actually." Ted says.
"Okay. See you later."
John and Ted smile as they leave.
"Anyway," Chelle smiles. "I'm really happy that you're content if you happen to lose tonight, Rissa. It's hard to just decide to step away."
"Yeah." I reply. "It's hard, but it's me. I'll be back at it eventually. I'll still come back to kick some ass."
"Of course you will."
"I like this too much. Ryse, you're being quiet."
Ryse sighs. "I'm fine."
Chelle looks at her. "Are you sure?"
Ryse looks at me. "When does my current contract expire, Rissa?"
"October 28, only a few weeks away. I've been getting a contract offer ready for you."
"Don't. I'm done. I'm going to retire."
"Oh. I…okay."
"I know you're going to ask why. I just don't feel like I have much of a spot here anymore. I'm looking into some business ventures. I can plan out my wedding with Ted."
"Have you told him?"
"No, I will though. I just figured I'd tell you."
"Okay. I understand what you're coming from. I'm always going to support you. No matter what."
"I know. For that, I thank you, Rissa. I know Chelle just retired earlier this year, but I want us to still be just as close. All of us girls actually. Oh, Eve's actually coming in here right now. I hope she comes over here."
Eve grabs a salad. Chelle waves her over.
Eve sits down. "What's up?"
Chelle smiles. "Rissa and Randy won their court case against Cami. Rissa is content enough with her job to try for a baby if she loses the Divas Championship tonight and is also getting an office. Ryse is retiring."
Eve looks at Ryse. "You're what?"
Ryse nods. "I'm retiring. I don't feel like I have much of a spot here anymore. Sorry."
"Don't apologize. I understand. I'm just surprised."
"Okay. That's good."
"Have you told Ted?"
"Nope. I will though."
"Okay. Good. Anyway, Rissa, you're content now?"
I nod. "Yeah. I did a lot of reflecting while just being at home this week. I think I was unsure because of how uncertain and unutilized my backstage position was. However, I have importance now. I'm important enough to get an office, and if something happens with Triple H, I'll become COO."
"That's good. This feels weird."
"Why?" Chelle asks.
"Chelle, you're retired and trying to get pregnant. Ryse, you're going to retire and have things to do. Rissa, you're getting more to do and could be trying to get pregnant soon too. I hate to say it, but, girls, we won't be able to do this much pretty much anymore. We're growing in different directions."
I nod. "You're right, but we'll still find time to talk. It's weird, but we'll make it work."
Ryse smiles. "You're right. Plus, you'll all definitely be in my wedding. Our lives are changing, but we will always be friends."
I smile. "Absolutely. I should probably go get my ring gear on. I have a very important match tonight."
Chelle hugs me. "Good luck. I'm rooting for you."
"Me too." Eve and Ryse comment at the same time.
I stand up. "Thanks. I'll do my best."
I watched from guerilla as Randy was wrestling Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship inside Hell in a Cell. I was uneasy about it, and John, who was watching with me, sensed it.
"He'll be okay." John whispers.
"I don't know about that." I reply.
"No matter the outcome of this match, Randy will be okay."
"If you say so."
"Are you still nervous?"
"About my match? I am. Not as much though."
"I'm happy you're not as nervous. Why are you less nervous?"
"Let's just say that I've had some coaching by the winner of the only other match with this stipulation this year."
"I forgot Randy had one earlier this year. This is the first time for girls though, right?"
"Yeah. I'm racking up the first time ever match stipulations for Divas."
"What all do you have?"
"Hell in a Cell, Elimination Chamber, I'm the only woman to wrestle a TLC match. I'm sure this Last Diva Standing match won't be the last first thing I'll do. Hell, I'm going to try to lobby for a Diva Money in the Bank match."
John nods. "Sounds fun."
"How are you feeling about all this John Laurinaitis crap?"
"Why are you asking?"
"Because, you know, what happened a couple years ago."
"Oh. Well, I'm very unhappy about this. Honestly, I'm pretty pissed off that Cody is working with him after what happened to me a couple years ago."
"I can't blame you for that. Trust me, I'm pissed too."
"You should be. How's Triple H going to handle this?"
I glance over nearby to where Cody is watching Randy's match from. "Let's just say there's a plan. I don't want it getting out. I'll tell you more later."
John nods. "I understand."
Randy goes for a Punt Kick, and Mark catches him with a World's Strongest Slam before pinning Randy.
1…2…3!
"Here's your winner and STILL the World Heavyweight Champion, Mark Henry!"
I tense up as Mark hits Randy with another World's Strongest Slam as the cell rises. Mark grabs a chair and puts it on Randy's leg. Mark goes to splash onto Randy's leg. However, Randy moves. He takes the chair off his leg. He starts hitting Mark with the chair and does so until Mark stumbles backstage.
John grabs me tight as Mark passes us in guerilla. "Randy's fine. Like I said, he's okay."
On the monitor, I watch Randy slam down the chair in anger.
I look at John. "That's not okay."
"Fair enough."
Randy walks backstage. I approached him without saying a word.
Randy kisses my forehead. "Hey."
I lean into him. "Hey. How are you feeling?"
"Pissed off, but glad I avoided getting my leg jumped on with the chair."
"I'm glad too. I was getting a little uneasy."
Randy and I exchange a look as Cody makes an entrance.
"Must be cutting a promo." Randy comments.
I shrug. "Who cares? I'll enjoy your company for a few more minutes."
John Laurinaitis passes us and makes an entrance. He announces that Cody will defend his newly redesigned Intercontinental Championship against John Morrison.
"Trying to act like they aren't working together." Randy mutters.
"Maybe Morrison will take the championship." I reply.
"That would be funny."
John Laurinaitis comes backstage and smiles as he passes me and Randy. After Laurinaitis exits guerilla, I exchange a look with Cena.
Randy smiles at me. "Are you ready?"
I nod. "I think so."
("Glamazon" plays)
Beth makes her entrance and waits for me in the ring.
I know I want that girl so bad
I lie awake at night
And think of all the things that I would do
With a girl like that…
I make my entrance. I tightly gripped my Divas Championship.
"The following contest is a Last Diva Standing match and is for the WWE Divas Championship! Introducing first, the challenger, from Buffalo, New York, The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix!"
"And her opponent, from Saint Louis, Missouri, she is the WWE Divas Champion, Marissa Orton!"
I hand referee my Divas Championship. He shows it to me and then Beth before holding it up in the air.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Beth and I stare each other down. We lock up. I manage to gain the advantage. I keep my grip on one of Beth's arms and twist it. I may not be able to win this match with a submission like an Armbar. However, I can weaken Beth's arm so she will have more problems trying to take me down. I continue twisting her arm until she Headbutts me. I stumble into the ropes. Beth hits me out of the ring with a Running Bulldog. I fall onto the ground.

We start exchanging punches as we fight throughout the concessions area. I elbow Beth in the face to create some separation and grab onto a concessions counter to keep balance. Beth runs at me, and we both go rolling over the counter onto the ground on the other side. The referee starts to count.

I barely manage to make it to my feet. That was close. Beth goes to grab me, but I meet her to lock up with her. I see Natalya come over to help Beth, but Eve comes over and starts fighting Natalya. I start hitting Beth in the gut. Natalya sends Eve into a vending machine. I shove Beth away and put Natalya through the table behind me with a Back Body Drop. Beth runs at me, but I catch her with a Picture Perfect right on top of Natalya. The referee starts to count.

I pull myself back up. Beth goes to grab me. I knee her in the gut before hitting her face off of the stage case. I grab Beth and send her back towards the ring onto the stage. I attempt to lock Beth in a Sleeper Hold in an attempt to either take out her stamina or knock her out. However, I don't get it fully locked in, and Beth runs me back first into the lower tron. The referee counts.

"Your Divas Championship reign is over, Marissa!" Beth yells.
"Not today, bitch!" I reply.
Beth tries to hit my head on the steel steps, but I block her. I elbow Beth a few times to escape. I then kick Beth in the gut before tossing her into the barricade. The referee counts.

I start unloading punches on her. When I get off of Natalya, Beth levels me with a Clothesline. Instead of letting me be counted after that, Beth lifted me up and Powerbombed me through the announce table.
As I went through the announce table, I knew it was over. I wasn't getting up from this. My Divas Championship reign is over.

"Here is your winner and the NEW Divas Champion, The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix!"
I groaned in pain as I heard Beth and Natalya celebrating near me. I was sore, barely conscious, and lying in the broken remains of an announce table.
Randy and I were laying in bed together on our tour bus. I had gotten my hair washed three times over to get out all of the ketchup, mustard, and popcorn. I had taken medicine for the pain I'm in, and it was barely helping. On top of that, I didn't want to talk because of how pissed off and disappointed I am. I was content with the idea of losing my Divas Championship at this point, but this was not how it should've happened. I didn't want to have my last match in a long time end that way. I know Last Man Standing matches had no disqualification, but it was embarrassing that Natalya getting involved was what cost me my Divas Championship.
I glanced over at Randy, who looked like he was sleeping peacefully, and sighed. I knew I was way too stressed. I didn't know how to talk about it. Randy's arm grabbed my waist and pulled me almost on top of him. I then knew that he wasn't actually sleeping yet. I moved on top of him so I could put my head on his chest.
"You've barely talked all night." He whispers.
"I thought you were sleeping." I reply.
"I meant even before that, since your match."
I sigh. "I'm not happy with how that match ended."
"I understand."
"I know that I'm content with walking away for a while to have our baby, but I'm not sure if I'm content with that being my last match before I go, considering how it ended."
"Use your rematch clause."
"Are you sure? I already said that once I lost the Divas Championship, I'm going to step out of the ring to try to have a baby with you."
"Use it. Even if you don't get the Divas Championship back, you can get yourself a better match to have as your last one in a while. I know that if I was in your position, I wouldn't want that to be what people remember as my last match for a while."
"Okay. Let me figure out a good time to use it."
"Okay."
"I'm so sore from my match."
"You and me both. Can we sleep now?"
"Sure."
