While everyone showed up for work, and professionally did their jobs. The feel of the set was no longer one of enjoyment of the job. It was actual work, and everyone there was present for a paycheck not comradery.
This mood shift not only affected the work environment, but also the after work schedule too.
No longer did everyone gather together after last cut, to watch the finished products of the episodes before they aired. It really was a different feel these days. These last few months was nothing like the days of old.
Kerry snaps out of her head, as she feels her phone vibrate. She looks down and sees the text advising Tony's turning into the gate.
She gets up, and changes her clothes. She didn't realize a full hour had gone by.
After changing her clothes she grabs her bag, and heads out the door. When she gets to the parking area she sees Tony standing outside talking to Tom.
When she walks over to them; they continue to chat. But Kerry stands next to Tony. She hears Tom say, "Someone needs to tell her you can catch more flies with hone, than with vinegar."
Tony replied, "She knows that. She just doesn't care man." Kerry has to agree with the sentiment. But asks, "So, what's going on now?" Tom says, "The execs are asking about the promotion tour line up. Specifically, they're asking about you and Tony not appearing."
Kerry replies, "it's not contractual for us till mid-August." Tom replies, "Yeah I know. You should've seen her face when she realized that too." Kerry and Tony both chuckle as Tony says, "That's called karma my friend."
Tom responds, "Indeed it is. Anyway. I just wanted to share that with you two before you left. So in case she starts trying to warm up to you you'll know the motive."
Kerry replies, "Thanks Tom. We appreciate it." He replies, "You're welcome. You two have a great vacation." They both say, "You too."
After waving good bye; Tony opens Kerry's door for her. And she gets inside. While he walks around to the other side; she looks in the back seat and sees her lady bug fast asleep. While Josie sits in her pet car seat next to her, resting with her dolly in her paws. Kerry grins as she looks at their girls.
She shakes from her thoughts as Tony gets into the car. Before he puts on his seatbelt; he leans over to kiss her. She kisses him in return, and says, "I was waiting for that." He replies, "I was waiting to give it to you. That and more."
They share a smile and she says, "I'm so ready for this vacation." He responds, "Me too. I think we both are beyond ready. Especially with how things have been going lately."
She nods in agreement as she puts on her seat belt, and he prepares to back out. As they pull off, she says, "What do you think Shonda's going to do about our appearances?" Tony replies, "Honestly babe. I don't care. And I won't be considering it until we get back from vacation. Please join me in thinking that way, okay?" She sees the pleading in his eyes and she agrees to do the same.
He sees her relent as she says, "Okay. I'm all in." He kisses her hand and holds it as he drives out of the lot, and to the airport. When they arrive at the airport; Tony sees Kerry with her phone in her hand. He looks at her and says, "Ker." She cuts him off as she says, "I am turning it off now babe." He smiles at her and they share a kiss, as they prepare to exit the car, and board the private jet.
As she walks to the plane with her little one in her arms and Tony carries Josie. Both of them still sleeping. Her mind still wonders if them being unplugged is the best thing, for two whole weeks. After boarding the plane and getting buckled in. Tony looks over at her, and says, "Judy knows how to reach us if anything important happens Ker. In the meantime. Let's enjoy this. Okay?" She knows he's right. They need this time. So she takes a breath and says, "Okay. For real this time. I'm all in." He replies, "You promise?" she nods as she says, "Yes. I promise."
Thank you for reading my fanfiction tale. Well, it looks like once again things are moving right along with Terry. Their first full family vacation is afoot. And not even Jane's scheming could throw it off course. But, will that be the only obstacle they'll have to contend with? Is there more afoot? We shall see.
Of course as expected, Shonda showed her pettiness. But were you surprised at how Terry has handled her so far? Regardless, there's more to come for sure with that storyline. Next we discover how Shonda handles the promotional tour issue. Will she ask Terry out right to do her a favor? Or will she try to bully them into it? That remains to be seen. All this and more to come in the next installment of Timing Is Everything.
