SmackDown Filming: October 25, 2011

I walked backstage with Randy as we just made it to the arena. "This feels really weird."

Randy gives me a confused look as he tightens his grip on my hand. "Weird? Like a good weird or a bad weird?"

I shrug. "I'm not sure, but it's weird. The past seven years I've been focused on nothing but being able to be a good in-ring competitor, but now, it's not my focus. After seven years, it feels weird not being focused on that."

Randy nods. "Okay. I see your point. Do you think you'll get used to it?"

"I don't know. I'm fine with this though. I'm going to get pregnant and have our baby. It'll all be good."

Randy smiles. "Yeah, our baby. I'm very excited for that."

"I'm aware."

"Let's just say that I may have bought some things to…uh spice up things while we're trying to conceive."

I laugh. "That sounds fantastic."

"I know we haven't even gotten pregnant yet, but do you think our child would become a wrestler?"

I look at Randy. "Probably. I mean that's a fourth generation Orton and a fifth generation McMahon."

"Poor everyone who will face any of our future children in the ring."

I laugh. "Yeah. Poor those people."

Randy smiles as we find our locker-room. "After you."

I look through pictures on my phone as Randy is changing into his ring gear. Randy and I always took small pictures together, and I had a lot of pictures with the girls too. I was getting a little reminiscent about things tonight. This was the last night that we were all guaranteed to be backstage. Ryse was retiring. Chelle was mainly going to be at home and is trying for a baby. I was stepping out of the ring temporarily to also try. Eve was the only one not changing things up.

Randy looks at me. "Are you getting reminiscent over there?"

I nod. "Honestly, yes."

"That's understandable. I hope I didn't waste putting this ring gear on. I never actually checked to see if I have a match tonight."

I laugh. "You're Randy Orton. I'm sure you have a match tonight."

Randy laughs. "You're probably right."

Someone knocks on the door. I open the door to see Teddy Long.

Teddy smiles at me. "Hello, Marissa. Would you mind doing an interview segment tonight?"

I give Teddy a confused look. "Why am I wanted to have an interview?"

"It's to write you off of TV since you won't be on for quite some time."

I nod. "Okay. That's fine with me. Does Randy have a match?"

"Against Dolph Ziggler. Is that all?"

"Yes it is. Thanks, Teddy."

"No problem."

I close the door and smile at Randy. "I told you. Damn, maybe I should've waited until after tonight. Vickie might be a problem."

Randy nods. "We haven't started trying yet. Just pull up on Vickie if she gets physically involved in my match."

I grin. "I guess I could do that. Help me pick out an outfit. I wasn't planning on being on TV tonight so I gotta hurry, so I can track down Ryse to do my hair and makeup."

I look at Matt Striker as I arrive to film my interview segment. "Am I late?"

Matt laughs. "No. You had perfect timing."

"Sorry, I'm not used to the interviewer being here on time."

"Who do I look like? Todd Grisham?"

I laugh. "Sorry. Are we good to start now?"

"We should be."

The cameraman signals we're good to go.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Matt Striker says. "Please welcome my guest at this time, the former WWE Divas Champion, Marissa Orton."

I walk into the frame. "Hi, Matt."

"Hi, Marissa. I'm sure you're aware about the numerous rumors currently swirling around about the future of your in-ring career. What is the future for Marissa Orton?"

I bite my lip. "Well, I know the rumors are that I'm taking time out of the ring for a while. And well…those rumors are true, Matt. I will be stepping away from the ring for the foreseeable future."

"Is there any particular reason why that is?"

"As you are aware, I lost the Divas Championship at Hell in a Cell against Beth Phoenix in the first ever Last Diva Standing match. That was Natalya's fault. Plain and simple. However, this past Sunday at Vengeance, I lost to Beth in a No Holds Barred match. That is nobody's fault but my own. Let me be fully honest here. I am not leaving the ring because of the Divas of Doom. I'm leaving the ring because it would do me some good to step back for a while. For the past seven years, my life has revolved around WWE. It'd be nice to have a small break. This isn't permanent though. I'll be back sooner than later, so whoever is the Divas Champion when I return, whether it's still Beth Phoenix or someone else, better be watching her back. As of now, I'm stepping away…unless Vickie Guerrero decides to get physically involved in Randy's match tonight. If that's the case, I may have one last thing to take care of before stepping away."

I sat with the girls in mine and Randy's locker-room to watch his match with Dolph. This was the last time all of us girls were going to be together for a while.

"This is weird." Chelle comments.

"What is?" Eve asks.

"This is the last time we'll probably be all together for a while."

"Yeah, it's weird."

Ryse sighs. "It'll be fine. It's just because we're getting older and finishing our careers here, except Rissa. She'll be here for probably the majority of the rest of her life in some capacity."

I laugh. "I want to say you're probably wrong, but you're probably right."

"You'll be all good though."

"This really feels like the end of something though." Eve comments.

I nod. "I agree. It's the end of us being together without complications."

Ryse laughs. "We'll all be back together after someone has a baby."

"Here is your winner, Randy Orton!"

I smile. "Yeah. Listen, I'm gonna go see Randy. I know you guys will head off, so can I hug you guys before I leave?"

Without a word, all four of us end up in a group hug. I keep a tight grip on the girls because I don't know when I'll be able to do this again.
