SmackDown Filming: November 8, 2011

I look at Randy as he enters the locker-room. "Well, I can confirm that I'm not pregnant yet."

Randy shuts the door. "Damn. Do you need anything? Like chocolate, feminine things, and so on?"

I smile. "I think I'll be alright. What's on the agenda for tonight?"

Randy sighs as he sits down. "I'm a team captain at Survivor Series."

"Oh. Who's the opposing captain? Cody?"

Randy rolls his eyes. "Wade Barrett. I also have a match against him tonight."

"Well, we both know you can kick his ass. Hell, I think I kicked his ass last year."

Randy laughs. "You did. That's not what I'm worried about."

"What are you worried about then?"

"Finding a team. I have no idea who I want to recruit. It's already November 8. Survivor Series is November 20. I don't have a lot of time. That's what? Twelve days?"

"That is twelve days. Listen, I don't think there's much I can do to help you out with that, but I think Sheamus would be a good idea. He is a good friend to both of us, and you two work well together."

"I see your point. I'll probably ask him, but I'll still need three more teammates."

"I'm sure that you'll figure it out."

I walk into Ted's locker-room. "Happy birthday, bitch!"

Ted laughs as he hugs me. "Thanks, bro. How's the baby making going?"

"I'm not pregnant yet."

"That's a bummer, but I guess you can drink when we all go out tonight."

I nod. "That's true, but damn, I would love to be pregnant."

"I understand. I'm sure Randy also wants to make it happen as soon as possible."

"I'm sure he does too. Actually, I know he does."

"How are you doing?"

I shrug. "Alright, I guess."

"Alright is better than horrible."

"You're not wrong."

"I'm facing our favorite person to annoy tonight."

"Jinder Mahal?"

Ted laughs. "Yeah, I got him in a singles match."

"Sounds fun."

"It will be. I'm sure. What are you up to?"

"Not much really. Hanging out backstage. I'm trying to think of potential Survivor Series partners for Randy. He's captaining a team against one led by Wade Barrett."

"Sheamus?"

"We already talked about him. I need to try to think about others."

"Good luck."

I watch Randy's promo in the ring from our locker-room.

Chelle walks in. "Did I miss it?"

I smile. "Nope, he just started talking. Are you pregnant yet?"

"I am not. You?"

"Me either. How was your anniversary celebration last night?"

"It was amazing. John planned everything out so well. How are you holding up this week?"

I shrug. "You know that it's been on my mind a lot. The anniversary is four days away. It'll have been eight years since the father who raised me passed away."

"I met you less than a year after that. It feels like it was less than that though."

I nod. "I know what you mean. I still haven't stopped by the grave since the funeral and burial."

"Really?"

"Yeah, Randy and I drive past the cemetery sometimes, so the thought crosses my mind. I never actually act on it though."

"Well, you'll be home that day. Maybe, you should go this year."

"Maybe. I'll admit that it's crossed my mind more than normal this year."

"Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea."

"Maybe."

"Are you still reading those letters from your mother?"

I shake my head. "Yeah, but every single letter makes me feel annoyed, frustrated, or upset. It's been a little hard."

"Yeah, that's understandable."

"I just feel like I still don't understand a lot of what was going on with her."

"Are you meant to understand her from the letters or is she just telling you what she thought you should know, Marissa?"

"You know, I've never thought of it that way."

"Am I maybe right?"

"Maybe you are. Man, what I am going to do when I barely see you after you get pregnant?"

"Just call me."

"How do I know you will answer?"

Chelle pulls me into a hug. "Sweetie, you're my best friend. I'll always answer my phone for you. If I happen to miss a call, I'll be sure to call you back."

I lay my head on her shoulder. "Thank you. I know I have my worries about becoming a mother, but you better not have any because you're going to be so good at it."

"Thanks."

Randy stretches out in our locker-room. "Are you alright, sweetheart?"

I shrug. "I've just got things on my mind, Randy. That's all."

"Why do I feel like this is family related?"

"When is it not?"

"Do you wanna talk about it?"

"Not really right now. Let's save the conversation for at the hotel after Ted's birthday party."

"Okay. That is if I don't figure it out before that."

"Knowing you, if you thought hard enough, you'd probably figure it out."

Randy stops stretching and smiles at me. "Yeah, I do know you pretty well."

I smile. "Yeah, you do. Pretty sure that's a mutual thing though. We both know each other pretty well."

"We're married. That's a good thing."

I nod. "It sure is. I'm kinda hungry."

"Go grab something from Catering. Just don't eat a lot since we will have food at Ted's birthday party and you have a small appetite."

"I will go do that when you head to guerilla."

"Okay. Is it just me or like is it really disappointing that you're not pregnant even though we weren't expecting it yet? Like I don't think either of us were expecting it to happen this quickly. Hell, Michelle and John haven't even gotten pregnant yet. It just is a bit of a bummer." Randy sighs and puts some of his stuff back in his bag. "I'm sorry for rambling so much. I just…I just thought it would be good to get that off of my chest."

I walk over to Randy and put my arms around him. "Don't apologize for rambling, Randy. I get it honestly. It is a little disappointing because we want a baby, but we may be dealing with disappointment like this for awhile."

Randy nods and pulls me tightly to him. "I know, Rissa."

"It'll happen though, Randy. I'm sure of it."

Randy kisses my forehead. "Me too."

I lean on Randy as our entire group of friends was sitting together at a table in the bar. Randy wraps an arm around me. We were all eating Ted's birthday cake and had drinks. I wasn't really fully feeling up to it. I had barely touched the rum and coke that Randy had gotten me.

Ted smiles. "I'm happy with all of this. Just all of us being together, celebrating my birthday. All of us except Cody."

I nod. "Enjoy this last year of your twenties."

"Oh trust me, Marissa. I will. I'm going to live my life to the fullest."

Chelle smirks. "There's karaoke here."

Ted sighs. "That's not what I meant."

"Oh come on, Ted." Eve says as she grins. "Live a little. Go sing."

Randy laughs. "Come on, birthday boy. Sing us a song."

"Yeah, Ted." I comment. "Some of us are about to have kids. This could be the last time we all are here for something like this."

"Yeah," John adds. "I would love to hear you sing for us."

Ted rolls his eyes. "Trust me. Ryse doesn't want to see me sing karaoke. I'm not doing that and embarrassing her like that."

Ryse looks at Ted. "I want to see you do some karaoke. It'd be fun to watch."

"Babe, I don't think that's a good idea."

"What's wrong, Ted? Got stage fright, babe?"

"It isn't manly to do karaoke."

John laughs. "That's a dumb excuse. Randy and I have sung karaoke plenty of times."

"Then why don't the two of you go sing?"

"Because we don't have birthdays today."

"Just do it, Ted." Ryse comments.

Randy nudges me as the others continue discussing Ted doing karaoke. "Hey."

"Yeah, Randy?" I whisper.

"Are you doing okay? You've barely touched your drink that I got you."

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure? Do we need to call it a night and head back to the hotel?"

"No, I still got a couple hours in me. I'm just not feeling like drinking too much tonight. Don't buy me anymore."

"Okay. I love you, beautiful."

"I love you too, stud."

John takes Ted to go sign up for karaoke. Randy goes to buy himself another drink at the bar.

I look at Chelle. "Can I ask you a question?"

Chelle looks at me seriously. "What's up?"

"How do you deal with John being bummed out about not being pregnant yet?"

"Is Randy already being like that?"

I sigh. "He just made a comment earlier today."

"What kind of comment?"

"Just how he found it kinda disappointing that I'm not pregnant yet, even though neither of us were expecting it this early."

"Well," Chelle glances at Eve and Ryse. "All three of you listen to me, just in case. You've just gotta be positive and reassuring. That's just what you gotta do. Be positive and reassuring."

I nod. "Okay."

Randy sits back down. "What's up?"

Chelle shrugs. "We're waiting on the boys to get Ted set up for karaoke."

"Ah. I see. Hopefully, he'll be singing soon."

Ted sits down. "Unfortunately, I will be soon."

John laughs. "Chill, Ted."

"Whatever."

John raises a glass. "I propose a toast. To friends, Ted's birthday, and the show we're going to get when he does karaoke."

Everyone laughs before clinking our glasses together.
