TLC: December 18, 2011
I help Randy stretch out as he's preparing for his Tables match against Wade Barrett tonight. "So…how are we feeling about the match tonight?"
Randy looks at me as he switches stretches. "I'm feeling pretty confident. I've got more experience than Wade, and I'm good at putting people through tables."
"Your point sounds pretty valid there. I'm sure you'll win tonight, Randy."
"That's nice to know that you have faith in me."
"I'm your wife. I'm going to root for you. Plus, it's Wade Barrett. I beat him in a Steel Cage with your finisher."
"That's true. He shouldn't be too much of a problem."
"Exactly. I think you'll kick ass out there."
Randy finishes stretching. "I should."
"I can't believe 2011 is almost over."
Randy sits down. "Me either. Our wedding was at the beginning of May, and I feel like it wasn't too long ago. It's the middle of December now."
"Yeah, this year flew by."
"Does it seem like maybe our wedding made the year start going faster for us?"
I shrug. "Maybe. I'm not really sure."
"It is what it is I guess. Are you ready for Christmas next week?"
"I'm absolutely excited. It's our first Christmas married."
"Yeah, I'm excited for you to see what I got you for a gift."
"Me too. I just wish I could've thought of something for you."
"Hey, you agreed to go with me to the masquerade ball on Friday and to ride my motorcycle with me soon. We're even. It's all good."
"To you, we're even. I still feel a little bad."
"You're going to have to carry our child. Don't feel bad."
I nod. "Okay then. I still feel bad."
"You bought a tour bus for Valentine's Day, Rissa. Knock it off."
"Fine. I'll stop."
Randy kisses my forehead. "My match is soon. I'm going to head to guerilla."
"Okay. Right behind you."
I kiss Randy on the cheek right before he has to make his entrance. "Good luck, handsome."
Randy smiles. "Thanks, beautiful."
Wade is already in the ring. Randy makes his entrance, and the match starts.
"Are you nervous for Randy?" John asks me.
"I think he'll win." I reply. "I just don't like watching him in these kinds of matches, John."
"I get it. It's hard to watch your significant other in matches like these. He acts in a similar way when your roles are reversed."
"He does?"
"Yeah, he's confident in you, but he worries. That's exactly how you are right now."
"I can't really argue with you on that one."
"I think it's a good thing. You two don't really notice the other one doing it, but it shows how much you care for each other."
I smile. "I see what you mean."
"Man, I hate missing wrestling a match on a pay per view."
"Hey, this is my second pay per view in a row without wrestling a match. You'll be fine."
"You chose to stop wrestling for now, Rissa."
"That doesn't mean I don't miss it."
"Fair enough."
I groan as Wade puts Randy on a table and goes up to the top rope. "Oh no."
John and I watch in silence as Wade jumps before Randy RKOs Wade through the table, winning the match.
"Yes!" I exclaim.
John laughs at me. "See? Nothing to worry about."
I look at John. "I know, Cena."
Randy arrives backstage and pulls me to him. "How'd I do?"
I smile. "You did fantastic."
"Thanks, sweetheart."
"I'm so proud of you. Congratulations on the win."
"Thanks. Maybe we can get out of here early and start celebrating."
"As much as I would love that, it's a pay per view, Randy. It's doubtful."
Randy sighs. "I know. Do you wanna go Catering?"
"Sure."
Randy looks at John. "Will you be joining us in Catering?"
John shakes his head. "No thanks. I'm just going to watch matches from here."
"Oh. Alrighty then. Let's go, Rissa. Have fun, John."
"Bye."
Randy and I exit guerilla to head to Catering. As we turn a corner, John Laurinaitis stops us. Randy immediately gets in front of me, but I grab onto him just in case he loses his temper at Laurinaitis during the incoming conversation.
John Laurinaitis looks at me. "Beth and Natalya came to me about you slapping Beth on Monday."
I returned a look directly at Laurinaitis. "Did they now?"
"They did. Both of them think you were stepping out of your zone for not currently being a competitor, and I'm honestly inclined to agree with them. You were out of line there."
"I was out of line? Beth was trying to take a Slammy award that I won out of my hands to take for herself. It wasn't out of line."
"Well, I believe it was, as do Beth and Natalya. They want me to take it up with the Board of Directors, and I'm going to be doing that. This is your warning. Expect a call from them in the next few days over you slapping talent."
"You know what, Laurinaitis? Go ahead and do it. It's all on Monday's episode of Raw, so the Board of Directors will see exactly what happened. Let's go, Randy. I'm hungry."
Randy nods. "Me too."
We walk away and continue to head towards Catering.
"Should we be concerned about that?" Randy asks.
I shake my head. "No, he can take it to them. If the Board of Directors had an issue with it, I'd already be in trouble."
"Okay. That's good to know. We'll be just fine."
"Yeah, everything will be fine, Randy. He can try all he wants to, but I'm not going to be in trouble for slapping Beth."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm certain. This is practically some sort of game between me and John Laurinaitis. He's just mad because I'm winning. He wanted to tell people that I'm not experienced enough to understand how this company works. I'll use the wealth of knowledge that I actually have to keep him from harming my career as well as work to take him down before he gets out of control. He can't use that slap against me."
"Good, Rissa. I'll stand by your side for all of it."
