Bella plays with 'her dolls'.
Fenrir and Hermione put on a show. Bella shows off her 'dolls'. Narcissa is oblivious to the truth of the 'dolls'. The dolls make a plan. Harry, Ron and Remus discuss Greyback. Story title is referenced in the final sentence of the story.
The couple on the bed continued their struggle. Fenrir knew Bella wouldn't hesitate to kill or crucio them both if she realized they were faking a rape. He also couldn't help getting stirred up being this close to Hermione. He knew she could feel what was happening. How could she not? He was right against her, the only thing separating them was literally his leather pants. He already knew it was going to take all his willpower to keep from really taking Hermione until he could get them out of that crazy bitch's hands!
Hermione knew what was happening, all right. All it would take was one snap, just one snap of a buckle and she'd really be taken. He'd sounded like he didn't intend to do anything to her, for real, until they had escaped from Bella. She hoped that she might be able to escape both of them once they were out of this situation. She could only hope that Harry and Ron or the Order were looking for her. It would be a lot easier to get out of here with her wand. Unfortunately, she didn't have her wand and she had a very strong hunch Greyback didn't have his wand, either. She knew he'd taken her wand when he had captured them. Before she shrunk them, Bella must have taken his.
That brought up another problem. IF they did manage to escape, how would they return to their normal size? Did Bella have to be the one to restore them? Or had she just used a normal, easily ended shrinking spell on them? Hermione might have been tempted to try an ending spell, except she had no clue of how to do wandless magic. Greyback might know. She'd seen him fighting without a wand.
She had a sneaking suspicion, though, that he might be enjoying the current situation just a bit. Not being in Bella's control but him and her alone. He was an attractive man when he didn't have those ferocious fangs on display. Enough time spent in his company and she could easily fall in love with him. It was no secret among her friends that she'd always had a thing for older men. Harry and Ron still teased her about two professors in particular, Gilderoy Lockhart and Remus Lupin! Falling for Greyback would be all the worse for the fact that he was the reason Remus was a werewolf.
Suddenly, they both heard a door open. Greyback rolled them off the bed as he rose. Hermione looked up in time to see him stiffen and fall backward. She crawled over to him. She hadn't seen a green flash. Why else would he have fallen backward though? "Greyback? Greyback? What-? Greyback, speak to me! Please! Greyback!" she touched her hand to his cheek. It was very warm under her hand. She looked at his eyes and he was staring right at her. Just as she registered that he was actually alive, she stiffened and fell forward. She and he were almost directly face to face.
She felt something close around her and realized what was happening. Bella had Petrified them! She was now talking to someone. Hermione recognized the unmistakable voice of Narcissa Malfoy. "What are you doing, Bella? Aren't you a little old to be playing with dolls? What is-? Is that Malfoy Manor? How did you do that in such detail, Bella? It's beautiful!"
"Oh, I have my ways, dear sister. And these are special dolls. Look, tell me who she reminds you of?" Bella held out the 'doll' she was holding. Hermione stared pleadingly at Narcissa, willing her to realize they weren't dolls!
"Hmm. She looks like the little Granger mudblood that Greyback disappeared with. I wonder where he took her." Narcissa mused, not paying much attention to the doll. Bella had always been slightly eccentric. You just couldn't predict what she was going to do at any given time.
Evidently, she was going through a stage of playing with dolls now. She watched as Bella opened a wardrobe door in the dollhouse. She withdrew a gown and put it on the doll. Then she sat the doll on the bed. She picked up the male 'doll'. "Look at this one, Cissa. I always wanted my own miniature Greyback. See how detailed he is." She went back into the wardrobe and pulled out a smooth leather shirt to match the pants he was wearing. Then she put boots on him and slippers on Hermione. Narcissa waited patiently as she dressed the dolls.
"Come on down to dinner, Bella. The Dark Lord has returned. He requests your company. He wants to celebrate the Trio being split up. If he could, he would congratulate Greyback personally for taking off with the Granger girl." Narcissa stood and looked out the window, missing the secret smile on Bella's face. 'Oh! If only they knew. If only they KNEW!'
"Oh, all right. Let me just get them situated first. He tries to terrorize her if I leave them too long." Bella said. She smiled devilishly as she sat Greyback on the bed. She then put Hermione in his lap and wrapped his arms around her. Then she knocked them backward onto the bed.
"Oh, Bella! You're acting like that's really Greyback and Granger! They're just dolls, sweetheart. They're very realistic but still just dolls!" Narcissa chided. Bella just hummed as she rose to leave the room. Just before she walked out, she turned and waved her hand. The door closed in time to keep Narcissa from seeing the sudden flurry of movement from the dollhouse bed.
"Damnit!" Greyback cursed as he tried to get to his feet. He'd wanted to jump up and wave at Narcissa but Bella had been too quick to shut the door. Hermione was just grateful that she wasn't naked anymore, even if she had nothing on under the dress. She slumped as she realized Narcissa hadn't even looked at them closely enough to SEE them. There would likely be no help from that quarter.
"Hey, now. Don't give up, sweetheart. Who knows, maybe Draco or Lucius will come in and check out the setup. Worse comes to worse, maybe Rodolphus or Rabastan might notice something off about us, eh?" Fenrir sat beside her and pulled her close.
"I'm not so sure I'd want Rodolphus or Rabastan noticing. They might be even worse than Bella. Lucius might help. Then again, he might ignore us. The only one I'd really want to notice us would be Draco. He never did confirm it was us the other night, did he?" she looked at him.
"No. The boy never said aye one time. He never denied it, but he didn't confirm it, either." Fenrir agreed.
"Now what do we do?" Hermione asked. He shook his head. There was only one thing they could do, at this point.
"We keep playing the game, sweetheart. Every time she's in view of us, I'm going to have to pretend attack you and you're going to have to act like I'm literally killing you. It's the only thing she's going to be looking for. If she thinks I've broken you, she might start dropping her guard around us. When that happens, her wards might possibly start weakening. Then maybe I can break through them and get us out of here." He told her. He took her hand and squeezed it gently.
At Bill and Fleur's seaside cottage, Harry was panicking. "We have to find her! Who knows where he's took off to! He'll kill her! You know he will, Remus!"
"Harry! Harry! Calm down! We'll find her, I promise you. It's just a matter of tracking Greyback down. But Harry," Remus sighed. After what they'd told him of the other night, Greyback's behavior toward Hermione, "I don't think he intends to kill her. The way you described his behavior sounds more like he wants to bond with her."
"What? No way in bloody hell!" yelled Ron. "You can't let that happen, Remus! He'll turn her! Hermione, a werewolf? No bloody way!"
"I'm sorry, Ron. I'm just telling you, that's what his behavior suggests to me. I've never heard of him actually refusing to let go of a female, captive or not. For as long as I've ever been around him, he's always charmed a woman into his bed, had his way with her and passed her on down the line. Sometimes, he turns them. Other times, he doesn't. But he always lets them go. The very fact that he not only didn't let Hermione go but asked for her as a reward, that's unheard of behavior for Greyback." Remus quietly educated them on the man who had bitten him.
"So by the time we find them, he'll possibly not only have bitten her but bonded with her, too?" Harry asked him. Remus nodded. It was a very strong feeling he had.
"There is one way to get her back unturned. If I know him the way I think, he'll wait until the night before the full moon to turn her. Full moon night. He'll bond with her when she changes for the first time. If we can get her back before then," he spread out his hands. Harry and Ron nodded. For the time being, the Horcrux hunt was put on hold. Right now the most important thing was finding Hermione and rescuing her from Greyback.
"Remus, how long do we have to get her back? How many days until the next full moon?" Harry asked his former teacher.
"28 days, Harry. Its 28 days until the full moon. We have 28 days to get her back." Remus told him softly.
